November 16, 2023 - Striped Wren-babbler (Kenopia striata)
These ground babblers are found in forests and tropical swamps in a scattered range across parts of Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei, and Indonesia. They feed on small insects, foraging alone, in pairs, or sometimes in small groups, on or near the ground in leaf litter and around fallen logs. Breeding from May to October, they build open cup-shaped nests from dead leaves lined with root-like materials in understory plants. Females lay clutches of two eggs. They are classified as Near Threatened by the IUCN due to habitat loss caused by logging and forest fires.

Doodle page I did tonight of a bunch of my monster (+ alien) characters.
Cryptlich (He/Him), Babbler (They/Them), Abraham (He/Him), and Hezz Karen (She/Her) are all from my The Hearts Of Monsters series (WIP).
Oz (He/Him) is a monster from a rule based creepypasta I want to write at some point.
Me (They/Them) is an alien from another original series I have in the works.

Yellow-Billed Babbler (Argya affinis)
Yellow-Billed Babbler's live in flocks of ten or more. Sometimes, groups of them call so loudly that they can significantly irritate the human ear. They assemble in groups in the evening at around 7pm, and preen before roosting. Allopreening (birds preening other birds) is common in these birds, especially in winter.

NOTE: I am not bashing on the character designs or complaining about nostalgia! I really like G3, it’s just I absolutely finally had to talk about the excessive usage of character motifs, which I explain in the article. gimme a chance?

Dear Reader:
There is a White-browed Babbler fossicking in the leaf litter which has accumulated under a small tree. Several more birds are perched in a nearby Lemon-flowered Gum watching me warily. Most of the Babblers I have encountered in this region seem to feed on the ground looking for insects, spiders, small lizards as well as fallen fruit and other vegetation.
