#historicwomendaily #elizabeth woodville #Elizabeth really had terrible in-laws #And these people weren't even the worst of them - that particular award goes to Richard of Gloucester #As complicated as her first widowhood sounds it was a breeze compared to the literal nightmare she went through during her second. #Honestly though: part me wonders what Elizabeth's first marriage was like because we know absolutely nothing about it. #The marriage itself is a blank slate but the fact that her husband's parents & siblings were so indifferent and uncooperative #to her - and their own kid-grandchildren?? - after he died indicates that his family may have been rather dysfunctional imo? #Certainly they (or most of them) don't seem to have cared about the wellbeing or dignity of his young and newly widowed wife which #doesn't exactly suggest closeness or support during the marriage itself from their end. #Elizabeth doesn't mention John Gray in her deathbed will either though she mentions Edward IV. She may have thought it was #'inappropriate' to mention her first husband beside her significantly higher-ranked second husband...but she DOES mention her son by #her first marriage - which would have drawn attention to it anyway - alongside her royal daughter so that's unlikely to have been a reason. #Maybe it was simply the passage of time? She and John had been married for very few years and she lived such a different life after that #So it's possible that her first marriage simply seemed very distant and faraway to her. #Alternatively it may have simply been undivided affection for Edward IV (her husband of 19 years who she married for love) #which fits well into the relatively personal nature of her will. #Of course we don't actually know anything about any of this and this is all pure wild speculation on my end...but I'm curious. #It's really a shame how little we actually know about Elizabeth's life - made worse by the very limited primary records of Edward IV's #reign and the fact that his chamber records don't survive. And it's even more frustrating that this is so rarely actually acknowledged #by historians. I'd argue we know far more about the life & interests of most other 'prominent' women of the Wars of the Roses #(sans the Neville sisters) than we do about Elizabeth Woodville.

Confirmed weapon (not bow) drop in The Goblin-Town Gauntlet, being one of the few missions that spawn infinite enemies that actually drop loot (and offer legendary XP). I wonder if it might be worthwhile to just farm this mission instead of jumping between multiple other missions.

#lotro #of course it only comes around once every 10 days but hey #only problem is i think that while they definitely dont have a zero drop rate they do seem to have a reduced drop rate #and i stopped recording drops in general as it was just eating into too much of my time #i tried to automate the process by setting up a batch and some macros but it wasnt working right #so basically i had to type everything out manually #and because of increased complexity i couldnt even make it a super easy entry process like with stafishsticks #idk ill crunch some numbers with regards to this instance in particular and then make my decisions about it #ive farmed it for li xp before but thats a whole different animal #also if anyones wondering the only missions ive got confirmed bow drops in at this time are abberations of nature and riches of sundergrot #gotta run drof about a bit more and see if she really does get more #but im sort of caught up in things now because i decided to get her her li and that questline always takes longer than i think it will #i actually would not mind if they decided to uncouple the seeker of deep places trait from that questline #because i would like to sit back and enjoy it but i never do #on account of im usually breezing through in an attempt to get seeker of deep places for some other reason #just make it autobestow at level 45 or 50 or idk grant the trait when you finish the first quest in the questline #so that people can just do that and then go barter lis from the archive

Hey y’all! I have a couple weird blood-pressure-related questions, both for people with low blood pressure issues and people without

I already know from previous questions y’all have helped me with (and doctor reactions) that it’s extremely weird that my allergic reactions first raise my blood pressure for several hours before crashing my blood pressure, so I’m just leaving that out for these questions 1. Do you ever find allergic reactions affect your circulation? Specifically, making your hands and feet extremely cold?  2. Do you ever find if you are having unusually high blood pressure readings (if prone to low blood pressure), that it happens when your hands and feet are very cold? 3. Does your ability to produce body heat ever, like...stop working? Like you have a blanket over you but it just will not warm up at all, wake up in the middle of the night because even though you’ve got three blankets still over you and it’s 70 degrees inside the house you’re freezing and the bed just will not warm up? I’ve gotten around this by making myself a hot water bottle on days when I can’t warm up, but like, that’s weird, right? these questions brought to you by today’s Weird Medical Thing, where I appear to be having a mild allergic reaction but my fingers are so cold the thermometer* can’t read them and my toes are so cold they ache. I am wearing slippers, have two layers of blankets over me, and it’s 72 degrees in my house. This is absurd.  *sometimes when I feel cold I take my temperature to see if I actually am cold enough to have dropped my body temp (get a hot water bottle time) or am just feeling cold (put on a hoodie time)

I am fuzzy on this part) #because A. the dilation of the blood vessels near my skin is sometimes visible (like in movies when poison is shown #as like dark lines spreading from the heart? but instead of dark it's greenish blue) #and B. if there is moving air at all (a fan a breeze anything like that) I am immediately no longer feel like I'm overheating #it's very weird because when it happens I FEEL very hot but my actual skin is cold and my temperature can drop down to possum temperatures #*opossum temperatures (by which I mean in the high 96 degree range. nearly two whole degrees lower than my usual)
