Anime Recommendations

I'm bored so I decided to try to do a list of animes that I recommend, enjoy!

1. Honobono Log (10 episodes)

Synopsis: Some of us are fortunate enough to have a partner to confide in on our bad days. In even the most devastating times, we can depend on our comrades for support. Others are incredibly lucky to have a special someone that they can just randomly embrace. No matter the situation, there always tends to be a close ally to help us get by. Honobono Log showcases the best and worst of couples and families, enticing romantic-comedy lovers with various relatable situations.

Why you should watch it:

It’s really cute, I loved the couples so much

The episodes are short (2 minutes) so you can watch very fast

It’s really good to watch it when you are sad or feeling alone

2. Starmyu (36 episodes + 3 ovas)

Synopsis: The series tells the story of the five students; Yuuta Hoshitani, Tooru Nayuki, Kaito Tsukigami, Kakeru Tengenji, and Shuu Kuga as they struggle to enter the musical department of Ayanagi Academy, a school focusing on music. They need to be accepted to the Star Frame Class, which is directly taught by the members of Kaou-kai, the most talented from the musical department who stand at the top of the pecking order within the academy. Luckily, they are spotted by Itsuki Ootori, one of Kaou-kai members.

Why you should watch it:

The songs are enjoyable and make you feel motivaded

The plot it’s not strong but if you are bored or want to watch something more simple then this anime will work very well

3. Vinland Saga (24 episodes) TW// blood, violence

Synopsis: Thorfinn is son to one of the Viking's greatest warriors, but when his father is killed in battle by the mercenary leader Askeladd, he swears his intent to have revenge. Thorfinn joins Askeladd's group in order to challenge him to a duel, and ends up caught in the middle of a war for the crown of England.

Why you should watch it:

Ok first of all I just want to say that this anime/manga is my favorite and I love Thorfinn so much (his character development >>>>)

The anime is really good if you want to binge-watch something

The plot is amazing and the anime showed just the tip of the iceberg 

It’s going to make you want to read the manga (as you should!!)

4. Tsurezure Children (12 episodes)

Synopsis: Young love—it takes many unique and fascinating forms that flourish as children begin to mature into adults. From being unable to confess to not knowing what real love actually feels like, various obstacles can arise when learning about romantic attraction for the first time. But underneath all that, young love is something truly beautiful to behold, leading to brand new experiences for those young and in love. Tsurezure Children depicts various scenarios of young love coming to fruition, along with the struggles and joys that it entails.

Why you should watch it:

It’s going to make you laugh SO MUCH

Each couple is unique, cute and funny on their own way

Really good to watch it when you are feeling stressed or tense

Starmyu S3-E11

Hm I was expecting to see Fuyusawa saying something about what Chiaki said to him and also the company wondering about the result of the vote but never mind.

So with the result Shiki leave the Kao Council and now Fuyusawa has the throne. The other members are okay to give him what he want but in their mind they just want to see him fall. Team Otori talking with Shiki was nice, Team Shiki admired Team Otori!! Okay I thought the actual Kao Kai wanted to change all of Ayanagi Academy but they want the academy to change while respecting tradition.

Fuyusawa also have the book and the bookmark with the flower (also the background of their bookmarks is their image color). Both him and Shiki give their book to Hoshitani and Tatsumi. Hoshitani and the group look like to understand how Shiki and Fuyusawa’s feel. Glad to see Inumine did something to help the company which everyone approved. Fuyusawa say that Shiki never realize how he felt or notice him but Shiki’s still calm and don’t say anything after so I’m wondering about what he truly feel about him. All I want is to see both of them reconciled please!! ><

The after ending scene... I have no word!!! I can’t believe Fuyusawa did this... Will Shiki find a way to get out of here? He doesn’t feel well in the preview... The company want both of them to see their performance together. There is a lot of things I wish to see more but with only one episode left, I’m really wondering how it will end. I’m hoping for a happy ending and everything resolved... but who know. The preview show a lot about the company but it’s okay, it make me feel less stressed than showing Fuyusawa or the Kao Kai lol.

I’m surprised about the song, Hoshitani, Tatsumi, Shiki and Fuyusawa!! What a good combination fufu~ The second song of the CD is the ending, so I guess last CD, we will get the song performance of the Opening Ceremony for both team (how about another Kao Kai or an all cast song too...)

Off topic: If it wasn’t about his seiyuu, I think I would not like Fuyusawa as much as I do now. He is the type of character I usually don’t like and I don’t consider him a love-hate character because I love him a lot even if I don’t like what he is doing. (And yeah I might be the only one who love him here xD)

I said I’m not doing this for every episode but I couldn’t stop taking screenshots! I didn’t take lost though as I was able to restrain myself as much as I could. I can’t make one post per episode like this all the time. I’ll have to binge watch the rest soon...

A song already! Sad it doesn’t have subs. Why don’t any of the songs have subtitles this time? They’re important!

Is it just me or is everyone happy to see Hoshitani and the rest of Team Ootori/Stardust? Even Ageha is happy! But then I can’t blame them - I missed them and everyone, too! Can’t believe this got a season 3... I’m so happy!

Everyone together!! And they have to perform together... or so we thought. The ending for this episode though!!!

Deciding the next Kao Council? Oooooh....

Tradition has always been important in Ayanagi Academy as the former Kao Council had mentioned way back in season 1. Ootori changed some things for his team back then but it wasn’t the norm.

Now it seems this generation’s Kao Council is planning to change everything.

I’m so happy they did their own Kao Council theme dance. There’s one every season! Still, my favorite has to be the one from season 1 though. They danced that in front of the crowd, too!

Oooh... I wonder what this means?

So... I know I’m super duper late to the party but I’ll try watching it all soon! I didn’t try and watch it as it aired this time unlike what I did during the first 2 seasons and now I have to avoid spoilers! DX

Star-Myu Boys are Ready to Enjoy Halloween Time in New OVA PV

The official website for the original boy musical-themed anime series Star-Mu has posted a 90-second PV for its upcoming OVA "Star-Myu in Halloween" to be released in Japan on October 24.

  Its story is about a Halloween party to be held at Ayanagi Academy's first student dormitory where the protagonist Yuta Hoshitani and other boys live. Using the pumpkins brought by the academy's alumni Saotome and Futaba, they separately start preparing the party, including cooking, decorating, and making jack-o'-lantern. But as the night comes down, the situation takes an unexpected turn.

    The first season of the Star-Myu TV series was aired for 12 episodes from October to December 2015,

then another 12 episodes were produced for its second season and aired from April to June 2017.

What I like about... (Starmyu edition)

(Has a huge urge to sing ‘What I Like About You’…)

This is a fun little ‘exercise’ that you can customise to your own theme if you like. I’ve done this for Starmyu, but feel free to change it up to your own tastes.

Basically, it’s a list of the characters from Starmyu and one thing I like about each.

If you do write one of your own, particularly if it’s another Starmyu one, let me know by sending me a link or just write your list in a message. :) I look forward to seeing your lists! Now, without further ado, here’s my list:

Hoshitani: His positive attitude. (Cliché maybe, but this is his most endearing quality to me.)

Nayuki: The way he cares for his team mates (and anyone else who comes across his path).

Tsukigami (Kaito): Teach-ability. (Kaito may not be the quickest learner; I’m specifically talking about when it comes to his ‘brother complex’. However, slowly, it seems like he’s learning that he doesn’t have to do everything as his brother did. I hope to see him learn to be happy with being himself.)

Tengenji: His honesty. (Even though he can come across as being a little ‘harsh’ sometimes, Tengenji is truly an honest man.)

Kuga: His willingness to work incredibly hard to achieve his goal. (He was working two jobs to pay for his tuition at Ayanagi Academy; ultimately to make his mom happy.)

Tatsumi: His way of stating the truth; even if it is a little ‘tactless’, but you can’t fault him for it!

Sawatari: How he puts Tatsumi’s needs ahead of his own. (I feel this is sometimes to his detriment, but it shows just how unselfish Eigo is.)

Inumine: His innocence. (Inumine is just Inumine. He’s not trying to be anything else.)

Toraishi: His potential. (When I look at Toraishi, I see such potential as an actor/dancer as well as an amazing husband for someone someday. If only he’d apply himself more in class and commit himself to one woman.)

Ugawa: The way he cares, but tries not to show it.

Hiragi: His gentleness. (My favourite scenes with him are when he’s taken Hoshitani aside in S02E07 to speak with him and then in S02E10 when he’s training with Hoshitani to get him ready for his role.)

Otori: His way of seeing potential in others.

Yuzuriha: His energy. (Yuzuriha, especially in ‘Finale to our chest’ – see OVA 1 – makes me smile with the sheer energy he has on and off stage.)

Sazanami: His calmness.

Akatsuki: The way he cares. (Because he cares about Hiragi, he works so hard to ‘protect’ him from Otori. Because he cares, he gets Otori to come back for Team Otori – at least that’s how I see it.)

Ageha: How he helps Hoshitani once they come friends.

Hachiya: His loyalty. (He sticks with Ageha no matter what and does his best to help Ageha achieve his dreams.)

Kitahara: How he, in his own way, encourages Hoshitani to pull through the pain and achieve his dream.

Nanjo: His fairness.

Haruto: His easy-going attitude. (He doesn’t let Uozumi’s responses unsettle him or make him angry.)

Uozumi: The way he works so hard on the struggling students. (He may be a scary guy, but… when this part of his heart comes through… he’s so sweet.)

Taiga: His ability to keep the peace amongst the Ancients (and everyone else for that instance).

Saotome: His professionalism in dealing with the students. (He’s a strict, but fair teacher.)

Yuki & Tsumugi: Their take-no-nonsense attitudes. (I do feel they’re a little hard on Tengenji sometimes, but… that original ‘telling off’… that was well done.)

Story

When Yuta Hoshitani was in middle school he came across a high schooler dancing beautifully with the insignia of the musical department of Ayanagi Academy. Hence, each share their own inspirations and reasons for joining Ayanagi Academy. So, will Yuta ever meet his role model? There is only one way to find out which is to join Yuta on this metaphorical climb up this inspiring story of trial and error. 

Review

​Starmyu...If I had to use one word to describe this anime as a whole it would be inspiration. I really fell in love with majority of the characters besides Akatsuki Kyoji. I was very annoyed with his actions in the first season and how he treated Otori and Otori’s chosen team which was blame in association. To think he would not give Otori’s team a chance to become something great Ugh! Well I understand now that he only wanted Otori to not run away. But there are other ways of doing that and using his team against him is not.

Furthermore, I would have to recommend that if you do watch both seasons of Starmyu please Please! watch the ova associated with the season because you would feel less confuse at the beginning of season two. See I usually watch all the main episodes first before I look at any ovas because I noticed that normally ovas isn’t really impacting the main story that much. However, in the case of Starmyu it leads you into the next season so that you have an understanding of what's to come.

So you can imagine when the second season started and the other members was baffle of the fact that Yuta didn’t remember that Otori and the other senpai’s was graduating was a little like ok how would he know because there was no mention in the last season. Though little did I know it was mentioned and addressed in the first ova. So don’t do I like did and binge watch through to the second season without looking at the ova. Also, be prepare for a lot and I mean a lot of walking away (i.e. looking at Otori’s back as he walks away from situations. I’m sorry...I can’t count the number of times Otori or even other characters who just walked away when a certain situation doesn't suit them.)

Now, I got to mention this as a fellow fushoji. I haven’t felt this true connection between two characters in a while since Yuri on Ice with Victor and Yuri. Thus the connection I am talking about is between Otori and Yuta especially in the second season. Everytime they shared a screen together it was just so cute and adorable. Gosh...Yuta was acting like a school girl with a crush everytime he came in contact with Otori. 

Another thing is you know that their relationship is not meant to be taking out of contexts like Victor and Yuri’s relationship. But you just can’t help it when there are little hints here and there. Man...I didn’t squeal so loud in my life (expect with Victor and Yuri) when Otori join in the dance with Yuta and the rest of the members of Stardust. It was just so beautiful and just...right. I can’t wait to see what Starmyu has instore for us in the future.

So, for similar animes to Starmyu. I would say Uta no Prince sama, Yuri on Ice, Shounen Hollywood: Holly Stage for 49 and 50, B-Project, and Magic-Kyun! Renaissance because of the inspiration to become something more than just a “normal” existence.

Crunchyroll, nuovi titoli in arrivo sul catalogo italiano della piattaforma

Annunciata la distribuzione di altre quattro serie animate.

Non contenta dei soli simulcast, Crunchyroll si affaccia alla stagione estiva rimpolpando il proprio palinsesto anche di un paio di graditi recuperi in latecast. Prima di vedere i nuovi anime annunciati dalla piattaforma, però, vi comunichiamo che il debutto di “To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts” è stato confermato per il 1 luglio alle ore 17:00.

Symphogear XV

Quinta stagione dell’originale serie ideata da Akifumi Kaneko e Noriyasu Agematsu, che andrà in onda in Giappone a partire dal 7 luglio. Il progetto è diretto ancora una volta da Katsumi Ono, già regista delle precedenti tre stagioni, e animato presso Satelight. Alla sceneggiatura troviamo sempre Akifumi Kaneko, mentre Satoru Fujimoto si sta occupando di nuovo del character design e della supervisione delle animazioni.

Il ripieno era perfetto come dolcezza ed era formato da un perfetto equilibrio di uova e zucchero. C'era comunque tensione tra loro, nata dalla domanda che Miku aveva accidentalmente posto a Hibiki. Cosa si celava nel cuore di Hibiki, dato che aveva esitato a rispondere? Tutte le storie iniziate nel passato e lievitate fino al presente si riuniranno in XV. La battaglia per le reliquie resta in una eterna metà estate. Le canzoni delle ragazze emanano una luce sfolgorante, mentre cantano su di un palco  che increspa la superficie di un lago. 

Assieme all’imminente nuova stagione, è stato confermato anche l’arrivo della quarta stagione, intitolata “Symphogear AXZ”, che andrà quindi finalmente ad aggiungersi al catalogo della piattaforma assieme alle tre precedenti, già disponibili. Al momento non sono stati divulgati giorno e orario di uscita degli episodi. 

Starmyu - Stagione 3

Terza stagione dell’originale serie a tema idol, prodotta dallo studio C-Station. Sia la prima che la seconda stagione dell’anime sono già disponibili, sottotitolate in italiano, sulla piattaforma.

"Non posso arrendermi per il mio sogno". Il desiderio di Hoshitani Yuta di suonare su un palco con Otori Itsuki, che tanto ammira, è finalmente realtà; dunque ora si focalizza sul suo prossimo sogno, passare il suo tempo allenandosi duramente in campo musicale nella sezione per musicisti della Ayanagi Academy. A ogni modo, un'altra prova lo attende! L'inizio del secondo semestre porta con sé l'avvicinarsi del Festival di Ayanagi. Sarà la prima esibizione dal vivo che i ragazzi dovranno affrontare senza l'aiuto di una guida esperta. Yuta e gli altri si lanciano a testa bassa per superare i limiti del team, unendo le loro forze per dar vita al miglior spettacolo mai visto prima. Ma il Kao Council fa presto la sua comparsa sbarrando loro la strada per il secondo anno! Come parte del programma di riforma del Festival di Ayanagi, il Kao Council crea un nuovo programma chiamato la cerimonia d'apertura. Gli studenti selezionati per l'esibizione sono i primi candidati per il prossimo consiglio, ma al costo di non potersi esibire nelle produzioni della classe. Si solleva così il sipario sulla storia di un divertente e giovane musical.

RWBY Volume 6

Sesta stagione di 13 episodi della popolare webserie statunitense, animata in computer grafica da Rooster Teeth Productions e ideata da Monty Oum. Le prime tre stagioni della serie sono disponibili sulla piattaforma con doppiaggio giapponese, mentre la quarta e la quinta le trovate con le voci originali americane.

Il mondo fantastico e futuristico di Remnant è pieno di mostri famelici, terreni insidiosi e più cattivi di quanti si possano contare. OHHH!!! I do have like, a lot of headcanons, but they’re pretty shippy (i.e. A LOT OF NANJO/REN so... 👀👀 I have written fanfics of them, actually XD) but I do have ideas for things I want to see in S4 (if there ever will be)~! Also, please send me all the memes if you want~!!

Season 3 ended in a way where the ending could be taken as the absolute ending, but at the same time it could give potential for a new season~

The 2nd years (at least, those of which the fans think are important, sorry Team Akatsuki T^T) are all members of the Kaoh Kai, right? I’ll bullet point them because honestly, my thoughts on this are not arranged at all  ｡ﾟ(TヮT)ﾟ｡

First of all, I’m really interested in how they’re going to work Star Teams into this new system. Star Teams have 5 members each and there are 14 Kaoh Kai members!! That’s like, 70 students all-in-all?? I’m really curious about this because the Musical Department is absolutely strict with their screening of students, right? Will there even be enough first years?? Are they going to work with Star Teams by pair?? I need answers!! How will this affect the entire Musical Department? How will they do Ayanagi Festival??

Number two: I wanna see how Hoshitani and the others will change Ayanagi Academy.Technically, the Chairman is still in charge of the whole school, right? I don’t know how he let Shiki do what he wanted with the Council and how that flew under his radar if he’s so strict on following tradition. Maybe if there’s an S4, we’ll finally get to see Hoshitani and the others go against Mr. Chairman himself??

Number three: I really need to see Hoshitani become more thorough and not just be “No Plan Hoshitani” if we get a new season.I know that part of the appeal of his character is how he’s spontaneous and yet things still end up going his way, but I think it’s about time Hoshitani got real character development?? Don’t get me wrong though, I love him a lot!! I love that part of his character a lot, but I think that everyone in the Council would benefit more if Hoshitani got his act together and not just be saved by Kaito and the rest of Team Otori a lot T^T 

Number four: I want to see how the Council will work in general! There’s so many members that I’d figure it’d be difficult to have them all agreeing and working on something. Specially since Ageha still doesn’t seem to like Nanjo a lot!Would this cause conflict in the Council?? Will this make them re-think Shiki’s decision? IDK, but I want to know how it will play out~

Number five: I want to see what legacy Hoshitani will leave Ayanagi Academy~ He’s the main character and a lot of his senpais have really shown trust in him. I want to see what sort of new thing Hoshitani will leave the students with and how he’ll be remembered in the Academy~ 

Plot-wise, those are all things I want to see/need answers to, but I do have a lot of other um... miscellaneous?? (a.k.a. personal hopes and dreams) for a new season!
