Hey, Seblainers! Hellooooo, everyone else!

Thank you so much for all your lovely messages about my Mum, and the necessity of moving Seblaine Week 2023. I'm truly grateful for all your kindness, support and understanding. Mum's doing very well and being made to take it easy - something she actually hates! 😁

Having read through the responses here and also the many messages and Asks we have received, it's quickly become overwhelmingly apparent that pretty much everybody is happy that Seblaine Week 2023 needs to be delayed. In fact, several people have said it would actually suit them much better if it was pushed back at least a couple of months!

So..I have a proposition for you all...As things stand, we would have Seblaine Week 2023 running from 4-10th September, then a weekend to celebrate Seblainiversary 2023 in November.

What if just for this year, we combine them and run the dual event from Monday 6th until Sunday 12th November?

The reasoning behind this is, a common comment from those who have replied about the delay has been, "I can always use more time to write," so while November might seem a long way off - it really isn't, and will be upon us before we know it.

It would obviously give me a great deal of appreciated breathing space at what is a difficult time for me, and since I know many very busy Seblainers do find it difficult to write/create for two events in what's a pretty short space of time, it would seem to be a viable option and would take away the pressure of trying to come up with something for both events.

Please reply here, or send us an Ask by Monday 28th August with your thoughts on this proposal. Thank you again!

Visual effects crews at Walt Disney Studios have taken a significant step to unionize after filing with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) for an election to unionize.

A supermajority (over 80%) of the 18 in-house VFX crew members at Walt Disney Pictures signed authorization cards signaling their desire to unionize.

The historical move is the second time in history that VFX professionals have joined together to demand the same protections and rights as their colleagues. Earlier this month, VFX crews at Marvel Studios voted to unionize beginning Aug. 21. Ballots are due on Sept. 11, and the vote count will take place on Sept. 12.
