Wonderful Things That May or May Not Be Wonderful!!! The advent of electricity has allowed for so, so, so many inventions and innovations to our daily lives. As a lover of inventions, innovation, and human progress, Walt Disney wanted to make a whole section of Disney dedicated to literal lightning in a bottle called "Edison Square". That didn't happen but Walt would take a lot of Edison Square's ideas and incorporate them into an attraction for the 1964 New York World's Fair called "Progressland". When the World's Fair ended. "Progressland" would be moved to Disneyland and then Walt Disney World under a new name that was cooler and didn't sound as much like "Tomorrowland", The Carousel of Progress. The attraction itself is not what most people would call a carousel i.e. a spinning platform with a bunch of rideable animals that bob up and down. It is built on a spinning platform though, just one that houses a theater. Six separate theater boxes to be exact, rotating multiple audiences through each show scene of a single family enjoying new-fangled technologies in four different decades from phonographs at the turn of the 20th century to voice activated appliances in 1993. Yeah…sadly, for a show about the wonders of the future, this attraction is rather dated, having not received a major since that year. Still, it definitely maintains that spirit of innovation and the promise of a better tomorrow and that has allowed it to endure for all these years. So long in fact, that it holds the record for the longest-running stage show in the history of American theater. Quite impressive (though less so considering all the actors are animatronics)! I do hope it gets that major refurbishment some time in the future but even without it, I'll still say that Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress is still worthy of being called wonderful It's a great big beautiful tomorrow indeed. P.S. Speaking of which, I also love the song for this attraction titled "There's A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow". If "When You Wish Upon A Star" is the theme song for the Walt Disney Company, then this is the theme song for the man who founded it. Optimism is a pretty powerful thing.

しばらく長い間イノベーションが無かったオーディオ業界にとって、デジタルで音楽を再生する（DA変換）というアイデアはビジネスとして圧倒的なDriving Forceとなった。ユーザ（顧客）にとっても22KHz以上の帯域がカットされていいのか？という疑念よりもメディア（盤）面のキズやホコリから解放されることのほうが重要だったのだ。しかしこの時点では、音楽プレーヤという＜周辺機器＞で起こったイノベーションにとどまった。いうまでもなく、＜本丸＞はパワーアンプである。

A級、AB級ーーー＞D級（PWM)

しばらく長い間イノベーションが無かったオーディオ業界にとって、パルス幅でスピーカを駆動する（PWM）というアイデアはビジネスとして圧倒的なDriving Forceとなった。なぜなら歴史的に最も物量を投入してきたパワーアンプを（特に筐体にこだわりがなければ）１ｋｇ未満に仕上げることが可能になるのだ。これはＡｍａｚｏｎでパワーアンプを気楽に何個も発注して楽しむ時代の到来を意味するとともに、特に日本のオーディオメーカにとっては冬の時代の到来となった。時計で起こったことが、オーディオでも同じように起こったのである。

what’s midst about?

THANK U SO MUCH FOR ASKING. its a sci fantasy western which follows a few different characters from the weeks or so leading up to Midst's moon exploding (the podcast is named after the planet), as well as the fallout afterwards. As the spotify description describes the main 3: it follows a crotchety outlaw, a diabolical bastard, and a struggling cultist. I loved my experience going into the podcast without any other info (the way the three narrators -- i'll get back to that -- reveal information is SO fun. they like have all the pieces right there from the beginning, plain as day, but only as they reveal context do you realize it was all there, and it allll comes together. like a jigsaw puzzle of plot and worldbuilding!), but if you do want more, you can check their website midstpodcast.com or their TVtropes page or something :-) ANYWAY as mentioned, there are 3 narrators to the podcast; all omnicient and separate from the story, sort of bouncing off eachother to build the narrative, while using a disconnected 2nd person POV. theyre unreliable, in that they have opinions, withhold info till a more satisfying point, and occasionally exaggerate for dramatic effect (but say when they do the latter). the energy is ELECTRIC. AMAZING. its incredibly engaging, both in plot, characters, and narration. its a thing of beauty. a thing of art. i love it SO much.
