ASH'S 1ST TEAM! (Pokemon Journeys Rewrite)

(All of the genders are simply headcanons or genders I think they would have, unless they are confirmed, like Pikachu for example.)

TEAM:

PIKACHU♂️-Duh.

PURRLOIN♀️-Guys I know it's weird and makes no sense but hear me out-I got the idea thinking about Purrloin and Pokemon Journeys Rewrite stuff I think and I was like "Imagine if Ash caught a Purrloin that was a little brat and yada yada ohmygosh" and so this happened...so, when Ash, Goh, (and Chloe,) head to the Galar region (to visit Sonia and Prof. Magnolia) instead of their food getting stolen by Scorbunny and the Nickits it's instead PURRLOIN and the Nickits! (Pure irony.) Like Scorbunny in the OG ep, Purrloin is covered in soot, except instead it's like, big spots, so Ash kind of gives her the cute nickname "Spots" and may I remind you in the manga he named Pikachu Jean Luc Pikachu so yeah, um, so, same as the original episode, they chase Purrloin and the Nickits, eventually find them, Ash tries to get their food back but Purrloin tries to attack him so the Nickits can get away with their food, but Pikachu comes in and defeats her, and after that like Scorbunny she's butthurt about it, and also like Scorbunny when she's mad she claws at legs or something, (a new version of ankle biter?) and Pikachu makes sure she keeps her attitude in check, (it's ELECTRIC,) but Ash notices how scrawny she is and is all like "Aw, poor guy or gal 😰" and then the food shopkeeper guy comes in, and Purrloin tries to protect the Nickits but gets in trouble, so Ash pulls what Goh did and lies about how Purrloin is his Pokemon to get her out of trouble, and like the OG the shopkeeper explains the backstory of Purrloin, how she's most likely from the Wild Area, and despite the irony, befriended the Nickits and became their leader, and he knew Ash was lying, and then Ash talks to Purrloin about how there's more to stealing, and uhhhhh...they can help....? (I need to rewatch that episode and get ideas) and Purrloin is inspired cause for once someone seemed to understand her, then they leave for the train, and the Nickits help her get to the train like in the OG episode, and clean her up, but instead they come with her, and instead of getting split up, she finds Ash and the crew and gets his attention by the great way she knows how...clawing legs. And then she joins them! Or something. (The Nickits also tag along and come home with them, and get cute little nicknames and accessories to tell them apart, I'm still thinking about them though.) It's kind of an episode to also delve in more on Goh and Chloe starting to realize the bond of Pokemon and how Ash sees it or something, IDK.

SOBBLE♂️-So, uhhhhh, when they go meet Sonia and Prof. Magnolia they also get to meet Leon and his little brother Hop and it's amazing and stuff and don't wanna spoil too much, but anyways, the Pokemon Leon is taking care of (not gonna spoil either) escape and run off, so they split up to find them, and Ash finds Sobble, who keeps on hiding and turning invisible, so Ash tries to talk to Sobble, and realizes to be patient, so he acts calmly and waits for Sobble, who is finally able to come out, and despite their bashful nature, feels reassured by how understanding he was, and uhhhhhhhh yada yada Sobble decides to come with Ash and Leon allows it (how do I not spoil this?)

ROOKIDEE♂️-So, not gonna try to spoil too much, but Goh and this Pokemon he befriended get attacked by this Rookidee, so Ash comes in with Pikachu, Purrloin, and Sobble ready to battle...but Rookidee is easily able to intimidate Sobble, slams into Purrloin before she can claw him, and flies away before Pikachu can zap him into oblivion. Sobble feels bad for getting scared so easily and letting Purrloin get beat up and the Rookidee, and Ash and his team try to reassure him...Purrloin's way of reassuring him BTW is encouraging him to beat Rookidee to a pulp next time he sees them. So, Rookidee comes back, cause they're...kind of a show-off and bully sort of...and they toy around with Pikachu and then proceed to scare Sobble yet again, but Purrloin yet again comes in and tries to get back at Rookidee and to protect Sobble, (she kinda has a bit of a soft spot for him, but still kinda teasing towards him at times, she's like...a big sister towards Sobble,) but Rookidee flies around with her on him, (like Pikachu and Latios,) gets her dizzy, and then shakes her easily off, (+fall damage) and while Ash and Pikachu check on her, Sobble has enough and steps in, although realistically he's still scared, but Pikachu and Ash cheer him on, so Sobble is a bit more encouraged, and tries to be brave for them, and so, he blasts Rookidee with a bug Water Gun, slowing Rookidee down, soaking their feathers, and driving them to the ground. Rookidee takes it personal and in a drive of anger, tries to finish off Sobble right there, but Sobble smacks him with their tail, and blasts yet another powerful Water Gun, slamming them into the tree. Weakened, Ash is proud of Sobble, and the team congratulates him, but is also genuinley impressed by Rookidee, and catches him.

SCORBUNNY (SHINY)♂️-LOOK I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING BUT DON'T WORRY GOH STILL HAS HIS SCORBUNNY AND I KNOW IT'S A SHINY but there's an important storyline following this capture and I don't want to spoil it but let's just say it's sad and similar to Litten and Stoutland

EGG--->TOXEL♀️-Like the games, Ash gets an egg from the nursery that hatches into this little gal. A joke is that after Toxel hatches, Prof. Cerise is like "This Toxel's a girl! 🙂" and Ash is all like "WHAAAAATTTT" along with the rest of the team. So, Toxel is basically the most calm on the team. Like, the whole team will be fighting and she'll be napping off. However, this can also lead to her seeming lazy most of time, but thanks to her training, she can actually be a really helpful member.

SO, UH, GONNA UPDATE ON THIS WITH THEIR PERSONALITIES, RELATIONSHIPS WITH EACH OTHER, ETC.

I was thinking of if Team Rocket were pokemon and trying to think of some fun pokemon ideas for them, but now I'm imagining them both being cat pokemon and Meowth having to be human and dealing with their nonsense.

Ooooh good question hmmmm... Well first I'll mention that they way I've been doing these reverse gijinkas is that it'd be in a universe where they get PMDd into a Pokémon (hence why Ash is a Luxio and not a Deerling like his mom). Just more fun to assign Pokémon to them personality/looks-wise. That said:

Small AU update!

I seem to be making a little Pokémon/Submas AU of sorts! I don't have a name for it yet! This is based on the anime!

-------- Plot: After landing in Unova, Ash gets caught in a lighting storm and encounters a strange Pokémon. After a little recovery, Ash sets out to explore the vast land of Unova! Being joined by one of the Straton City Gym leaders, a Purrloin called Cilan, and a little Emolga, from the Village of Dragons, called Iris! Together, the trio search for fun, adventure, knowledge, and hopefully friendships with Pokémon they meet along the way. They'll also face some obstacles, such as rivals, disagreement, and Team Rocket!

Pokecember Anime Edition: Favorite Grass Type

Attempted this challenge in 2020, but it didn’t pan out. Let’s see if I can keep myself going longer this year! This time I’m going with the idea of giving each Pokemon and trainer my own take on their designs, nothing too crazy but just stuff to differentiate them from regular Pokemon just for fun! 

I like Ash’s Snivy! I’m currently rewatching Best Wishes and she’s pretty consistently been a gem. For her I thought it’d be fun to make her a hybrid, and Snivy can be bred with the move Captivate if you use a Liepard, and that sounded like a match made in heaven for Ash’s Snivy considering her catty personality, especially in her first episode. So she’s got some Purrloin markings as well as some markings on her hands to resemble cat claws! 

I also gave her some scars because of her backstory. Remember when the anime implied she’d been mistreated by her last trainer so she left them and they never really touched on that again aside from an episode about Tepig? I do.

Castelia City. Her and Lucky’s hometown and an all too familiar ache bubbling to the surface of just how much she wept at the thought of being here located in her eyes. With a deep sigh, the two trudged through the streets filled with people bustling about, passing by old haunts -- even the school she had attended, as well as the streets she took to get home of all things... well, when there was a home. That being said, she was here for one thing and one thing only and that was to deliver something Grusha had left behind.

Following the directions the ice-type specialist had left, the two traversed towards the back alley way where the Cafes laid. Ribbon wrapped tightly around his trainer’s arm, Lucky kept a watchful eye out as they passed the hanging signs, not spotting the one they were looking for in particular until they saw the Purrloin in the window. 

“... That must be Sassy.” 

Ashe shares a look with the Purrloin, offering a sad smile before moving to the entrance and pushing it open gently with Lucky keeping pace. 

“-- Excuse me! I’m here to drop something off--”

Pokemon anime character thoughts that I think only sound like blaspheme to a die hard Genwunner/hj.

Brock’s DnD dump stat is charisma.  It’s either that or every time he rolls to flit, he fails long before Misty, Max, or Croagunk have to drag him away.  He has respectable wisdom and intelligence stats, high enough to make a great wizard or cleric, but not a strong charisma caster.  I’d also imagine this man flirting so bad he manages to prompt the woman he was trying to flirt with to show her high charisma and roast the hell out of him so bad Misty, Max, and/or Croagunk would just leave him to face the roasting.

One of Cilan’s best stats, if not the best stat, is charisma.  He still has a dump stat.  That dump stat is strength.  The only time I’ve seen him pass a strength check is during the first episode featuring a Purrloin, and I’d even say he only did that cause he cast Enhance Ability before trying to keep his friends from being buried under gravel and suffocating, and even that didn’t work.  If Ash and Iris ever got mad at Cilan, I’m imagining them screwing the lids of jars on real tight just to watch him suffer when he can’t open the jars without thier help.

What Pokémon do you think other eoa characters would start out with like Esteban, Victor, Carla, Isa, Ash, etc

I like the idea of Isa with something like Klink or Magnemite -- something mechanical to help her with her inventions. The former could help her actually operate her contraptions and the latter could help her find misplaced tools and such. In a modern AU I could also argue Porygon to handle software components of her more complicated inventions.

The malvago characters are easy because they already have animal motifs -- Victor could have a Skorupi, Carla could have a Spinarak (there are more spider Pokemon than that but Spinarak is the most quintessential of them imo), and Ash could have either a Hoothoot or a Rowlet. Of course, none of these characters actually started as malvagos, so for some Pokemon more suited for their pre-malvago lives...

I like the idea of Ash having started with Plusle and Minun as her "two pet mice" from "The One and Only". Uh, RIP to them, I guess. Zopilote's Mandibuzz was just too high of a level for the type advantage to be much help.

For Carla, my first non-spider thought was Zorua because of its association with illusions and disguising itself, but it may be too meek of a Pokemon for someone like her. My next thought was Purrloin, which is specifically known for charming people in order to steal from them, which, y'know, but I'm also trying to give everyone a different starter and I really want Victor to have a Purrloin, for reasons I will get into in a second. Mawile could work for similar reasons as Purrloin, and Poochyena could work for its extreme tenacity.

So Victor having Purrloin as his starter is important to me specifically because I would have Esteban with Nickit as his starter. The two are both associated with theft, tying in with Victor and Esteban's background in sleight-of-hand and petty theft around the castle, but more importantly, Purrloin and Nickit are considered bitter rivals in the Pokemon universe because they compete for territory. They also aesthetically fit with the two -- Purrloin/Liepard have green eyes and purple as their main color, whereas Nikit/Thievul have a black/white/dark-orange-that-we-can-totally-call-red-for-now color pallet matching Esteban's. The truly key part of Thievul's design, though:

It has Esteban's mustache. This is just his Poke-sona, I'm absolutely losing my mind. It's just missing the goatee.

Esteban with a Nickit also works as a parallel to Elena, if she started with one of the fox Pokemon discussed in the last eoa/Pokemon crossover post.

Hmm… been thinkin’ ‘bout the E-65 Pokémon AU I’ve been twistin’ around in my head and my pre-existing Pokémon OCs. I don’t really feel comfortable using the game’s main protagonists in any story in this universe since they don’t really have much character due to basically being meant as self-inserts, so while it probably doesn’t really matter since they’ll likely only be in cameos, I’m pondering just filling in the role with my OCs…

You Waited Five Fucking Years For This: The Motion Picture

‘You Waited Five Fucking Years For This’ is the recording (called the world’s greatest Team Plasma comedy film) for the day that Hugh and Nate raided the Plasma Frigate.

It lasted over an hour and a half and was centered around the name Plasma grunts had given to Hugh, an annoying and reckless kid who won’t shut the fuck up about his sister’s Purrloin.

Plot

The recording’s footage starts with Hugh and Nate battling Neo Team Plasma until Zinzolin, One of the sages referred Hugh as the crude nickname ‘Angry Qwilfish Motherfucker’, a term coined by the grunts of Neo Team Plasma.

The accidental nickname caused almost everyone except Zinzolin and the Shadow Triad to burst into laughter, before you all ash, yes, Lord Ghetsis was fucking laughing aswell and it was a relief to the grunts strangely enough.

Despite Zinzolin’s frantic attempt to correct himself amid the snickering grunts, it ended up failing and turned the entire battle into a huge, hilarious clusterfuck.

Ghetsis ran out of his office to laugh in a bathroom, most of the grunts and personnel were dying from laughter, including a certain younger sister of said ‘Angry Qwilfish Motherfucker’.

And then Abby, who actually knows this annoying little bastard commented: “Awww, he remembers your nickname!” only to be told by Hugh to ‘shut the fuck up’

And it may of embarrassed Hugh even further when Nate started laughing hard at this almighty nickname clusterfuck,

After a few minutes, Ghetsis and Mark, the Old Plasma grunt soon left the bathroom, the latter had been crying in the bathroom earlier, then both burst into laughter again

This scene caused Abby to point and then playfully pat Ghetsis on the shoulder commenting that her ‘grouchy boss is laughing’, Ghetsis and Mark were laughing too hard to notice

Unfortunately calming down was futile because of the hilarity of the nickname and Ghetsis and Mark laughed even harder

Surrounding grunts were ‘aww’d by the sight of their boss who is likely the grumpiest man in Unova and Team Plasma laughing and smiling for once and how precious Mark is when he’s laughing because he cries so much it would put a water fountain out of business

And here is the movie’s all star quote and tagline:

“WHERE THE FUCK DID THE OLD PLASMA GRUNT COME FROM?!”

Hugh who started to become even whinier demanded Ghetsis to answer him.

Eventually the two bastards left because of the humiliation, also Hugh’s little sister, Hana or 627-2 heard the whole fucking thing, DOUBLE POINTS!

Enjoy an hour and a half of the funniest comedy movie in Team Plasma
