Mary Esther Wells (May 13, 1943 – July 26, 1992) was a composer, singer, and lyricist born in Detroit to Arthur Wells and Geneva Campbell Wells. Her brothers were Thomas and Fletcher.
She graduated from Northwest High School. She married R&B-blues singer, conductor, and dancer Herman Lewis Griffin. She signed with and performed for the first time at Tamla Records, a division of Motown Records. Her first single composition was “Bye Bye Baby” which peaked at #8 on the Billboard R&B chart and #45 on the Single Pop chart. She signed a contract with the Motown record label. She released “The One Who Loves You,” a single that made #2 on the R&B chart and #8 on the Hot 100. Her single “Two Lovers” hit the Top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100, peaking at #7, thus becoming the second #1 hit on the R&B chart. More than one million copies were sold, earning her a gold disc.
Her “You Beat Me to the Punch” was nominated for Best Rock & Roll Recording. She began dating guitarist Cecil Dale Womack from Cleveland, when she was 21 and working on the song “My Guy,” the song hit #1 on the US R&B chart and was popular in Great Britain. She became the first Motown artist to perform in the UK, opening for the Beatles.
She signed a contract with Atlantic Records. Her song, “Dear Lover” reached the R&B top 10. She married Womack with whom she had two sons and one daughter. She retired from performing in 1970 to nurture her family. She was back in the studio recording on the Reprise label (1971-74). She divorced Cecil Womack in 1977 and began living with his brother, Howard Curtis Womack. They had a daughter together. She appeared and was celebrated at “Motown’s 25th Anniversary “television special, and she received an honorary Pioneer Award from the Rhythm and Blues Foundation.
After her death, the composition “My Guy” was posthumously inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, and she was inducted into the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence

Cartwright Coming Home for Special Show with Charlie McCoy
Tumblr media
Legend will join another legend. Again. But this time in Wheeling. At the Capitol Theatre. This Thursday evening. That’s when Glen Dale’s own Lionel Cartwright and country music Hall of Famer Charlie McCoy will partner for “An Intimate Evening of Stories and Songs” in downtown Wheeling beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are available online. It will be the second time Cartwright and McCoy join each other in song since the holiday season. “Charlie and I did a show at the Country Hall of Fame and Kyle (Knox) found out about it and thought it would be a cool thing if we brough it to the Capitol Theatre,” Cartwright explained. “I’ve worked with Charlie quite a bit through the years and I can tell you he has some of the craziest stories I’ve ever heard. They truly are insane. “The show is a two-man show and we’ll cover his stuff, and we’ll cover my stuff,” he said. “It’s going to be a lot of fun and I think the crowd is going to enjoy the music and love the banter between the two of us.” He mostly plays a harmonica, but Charlie McCoy has mastered many more instruments during his career. Cartwright’s musical hits include 3-BMI Million-Air Award songs, including the Billboard #1 “Leap of Faith”, “I Watched It All On My Radio”, “Give Me His Last Chance”, along with other Top 10 hits. He was a member of the famous country music class of 1989 and was nominated for 1990 ACM New Male Vocalist alongside Garth Brooks and Clint Black. Cartwright’s work as a composer has been credited in over one hundred television and film projects – including for streaming services such as Netflix, Apple TV, Discovery, and more. McCoy? As a session musician and primarily a harmonica master, he's played with a few artists most might have heard of before. Folks like George Jones, Roy Orbinson, Johnny Cash, Vince Gill, Johnny Paycheck, Leonard Cohen, Willie Nelson, Tanya Tucker, Waylon Jennings, Josh Turner, Gordon Lightfoot, Bobby Bare, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Tom T. Hall, for example. And the list goes on. “Me and Charlie became friends because he’s liked my stuff and I like his stuff, so that’s how the Hall of Fame show came about,” Cartwright revealed. “And it really was well received because we just naturally talked with each other during the show. Now, I’m sure it’ll be different in Wheeling because we’re not trying to copy the content necessarily. Just the format, really. “The crowd in Wheeling is going to love it because they’ll be able to sing along, and they’ll be able to learn some things about a lot of folks in the country music business.” Cartwright is far more accomplished in the music industry than most Valley residents realize. Those Country Roads While most shows are stage shows, the last time Cartwright performed at the Capitol Theatre, he AND the audience were all on stage. The performance was in May 2018 and Cartwright played his hit songs and many other originals, and he shared with the crowd the tales behind each tune. He expects a similar format this Thursday evening. “I’ve never really thought about how much I like that format – playing and talking about it – but I do like to perform that way because it’s more personal,” Cartwright said. “And the folks will just love hearing about the life that Charlie has lived in this industry. His career has been truly remarkable because he’s worked with so many of the national cats through the years. “He’s been a session guy who's worked with every country artist possible. Seriously. I’d have a hard time finding someone in country he’s not worked with during his career,” he said. “I’m talking about people like Roy Orison and Johnny Cash and everyone since them. Shoot, when Bob Dylan has come here (to Nashville) to record, there’s Charlie McCoy, and his stories could go on for days.” McCoy once was the music director for the TV hit show "Hee Haw," and he's recorded with all of the greats in the music industry. Cartwright reminisces about those just-a-kid Jamboree days when he was a musician for star after star when country music took over downtown Wheeling each Saturday evening. Wheeling’s Jamboree USA was ranked second only to Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry when it came to the most popular country music venues. “I don’t come home often because I don’t have family here anymore, but the best part about returning for me is touching base with where I came from. I drive down to Glen Dale just to see the house where I grew up, and there’s really something about going back to your roots. It always puts things into perspective for me,” Cartwright said. “And I love going back to the Capitol Theatre. It’s a very special place for me. “Every Saturday night, from my senior year in high school and all the way through college, I was playing music at the Capitol Theatre,” he said. “It was absolutely formative for me. It’s what I ended up doing for the rest of my life, and it’s because of those Saturday nights. That stage is magicial, and that room, that theatre, is very special.” And this show with Charlie McCoy will add another chapter. “I do think back on those Jamboree nights, and I remember those warm nights during Jamboree in the Hills, and I realize now just how special those nights were. It’s all just so dear to my heart,” Cartwright said. “It’s never been lost to me, the privilege that it was and is now. “And now I get to perform with Charlie McCoy and I can’t wait.” Read the full article

Dirt in the Diamond from Renee Maria Osubu on Vimeo.
Dirt in the Diamond, a short film, set in 1970’s London, explores the duality of grief and celebration within the mourning period of Jamaican culture. The film pays homage through its style and use of archival footage, to the generations before us, who have been intentional about preserving our customs, traditions and communities after immigrating to the UK and enduring the difficulties that came with it.
Created for Jords album release ‘ Dirt in the Diamond’ on Motown Records.

Fallout 76 Theatre Group Plans a Trippy Version of Alice in Wonderland
Tumblr media
Alice in Wonderland’s trippy themes are coming to Appalachia, courtesy of a Fallout 76 theatre group that plans a Tarantino-inspired stage play adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s 1865 novel. The Wasteland Theatre Company is currently working on the script and artistic direction for the MMORPG stage play adaptation, which it says should ‘open’ sometime next year. While the show is still in the early stages of production, the Wasteland Theatre Company has put together a trippy teaser trailer for its vision for the play. It features psychedelic visuals, a Dick Dale-style backing track, and some of the weird and wacky denizens of the Appalachian Wasteland filling in for characters like the Queen of Hearts, the Cheshire Cat, and of course Alice herself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQou3y_cMjY The Wasteland Theatre Company has been holding plays and other theatrical events in Fallout 76 for several years now. Along with groups like Fallout Five-0 and the United Wastelanders Network, they’ve been involved with stagings of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, a sonnet festival, and several other productions that have been held live in Fallout 76 and streamed to YouTube and Twitch. The group’s director, Northern_Harvest, says it’s starting with Alice Gerstenberg’s 1915 stage adaptation of Carroll’s book, but working to incorporate Fallout’s own unique history and lore. “How would Alice interact with characters in the Fallout universe? For example, in Carroll, Alice meets Humpty Dumpty, the Tweedles, the Cheshire Cat,” Northern_Harvest tells us. “But our Alice would have grown up with Bottle and Cappy, Mr. Fuzzy, and other Fallout universe characters.” Naturally, Carroll’s Mad Hatter becomes the Rad Hatter in the post-nuclear Appalachia of ‘Alice in the Wasteland.’ “ so many similarities between Carroll’s psychedelic Wonderland and Fallout’s grotesque Wasteland that we can explore, adapt, and play with,” Northern_Harvest says. The group has tapped Jonathan ‘Bramadew’ Thomas, who has played Romeo in a past Shakespeare production, to act as stage manager for Alice in Wasteland, since he has real-world experience as a stage manager. Fallout 76 seems to inspire creativity: another group produced a live-action Fallout 76 trailer that debuted in November. Right now, you can jump into Fallout 76 for the holiday Scorched event, which runs until January 2. Read the full article

Install inspiration and research
Below are some images I have found of large scale painting installs from other artists and exhibitions that I like. Of course my install is all dependent on the space that I end up getting but I think i can definitely make something work :)
Tumblr media
^ https://tranter-sinnigallery.com/blogs/news/what-purpose-and-importance-of-an-art-exhibition
I like this install because each work is read as an individual work but they are close enough to suggest a connection or relationship. I like this idea and hang and am hoping to achieve something similar in my own install. I also like how the 2 works are on the same wall and you can see both from far away, one when you stand closely in front of it and you can travel along them.
Tumblr media
^Installation view with Dale Lewis. Website: http://jerwoodvisualarts.org/ Credit : Courtesy of the artist and Hydar Dewachi http://thisistomorrow.info/articles/jerwood-painting-fellowships-2016
I think this install is really successful. I like the comparison and reflection that the hang allows between the works. I don't love how there's a doorway in between them - I think it interrupts the space and the 'flow' but I would be very interested in trialling something similar to this hang. I like how the audience must move around the space between each work.
Tumblr media
^Nathaniel Oliver, installation view in HOUSING’s booth at The Armory Show, 2022. Photo by Calli Roche. Courtesy of HOUSING, NY. https://www.artsy.net/article/artsy-editorial-nathaniel-olivers-narrative-paintings-contemporary-black-life-captivating-collectors
This install is very similar to the one above. But again, I like how they seem to be 'reflecting' off of each other. They are their own works yet joined together somehow.
Tumblr media
^ https://whitney.org/exhibitions/spilling-over
I love the play with scale and size in this install. While both works are very different from each other, I think the install has really balanced them out and they both look to have the same visible value and presence. While both my paintings are the same size, I think the distance between them is going to be a really important aspect and element of my hang.
Tumblr media
^ https://www.architecturaldigest.com/gallery/artist-jessica-warboys-slideshow
I love how each of these works is installed with the bottom of each painting touching the floor. It completely changes the space. I think this would be interesting to play around with but I think my paintings aren't quite high enough to execute this idea successfully. The viewer would tower over it and end up looking at the wall instead of the painting I think...
Tumblr media
^ Installation view of Monet’s Water Lilies (1914-26) at MoMA. September 13, 2009–April 12, 2012. Oil on canvas, three panels. Overall 6' 6 3/4" x 41' 10 3/8" (200 x 1276 cm). Mrs. Simon Guggenheim Fund. Photo by Thomas Griesel. https://www.moma.org/explore/inside_out/2012/02/14/f-111-1965/
I love the scale of this work and the journey and distance that one must cover to explore the entire painting. If there was enough space I'd be interested in playing around with hanging my two paintings side by side so that they touch in the middle - this way they would become one very long work that one must walk along in order to discover the entire painting. I don't know if this will be possible in the space I have been allocated though. I also would want to consider what this does to the meanings and conceptual qualities of the paintings because I do see them as seperate works.
Tumblr media
^ https://www.pacegallery.com/exhibitions/hong-hao-5/
I like how another painting is revealed in the back section of this installation. It has to be discovered and the audience must spend time in and exploring the space to find all of the works. I like this idea of a journey of discover and think I'd like to play around with a similar element in my install.
Tumblr media
^ Startling openness and vulnerability: Installation view of the red spirals of Cy Twombly's “Bacchus” paintings displayed at the Gagosian Gallery in 2005.Credit...Rob McKeever/Gagosian Gallery. https://www.nytimes.com/2011/07/07/arts/design/cy-twombly-an-art-who-emphasized-mark-making.html
I love the overwhelming scale of these works. I like how you can stand in front of them and see nothing else apart from the painting in your entire field of vision. Ultimately, this would be the ideal, dream scale to work on and explore!! Again, I also love the reflection and comparison the corner / facing each other install allows.
Tumblr media
^ Installation view of ‘Hilma af Klint: Paintings for the Future’ at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum SOLOMON R. GUGGENHEIM FOUNDATION. https://www.wsj.com/articles/hilma-af-klint-paintings-for-the-future-review-modernisms-missing-link-1539428400
While I don't have enough large works to pull this kind of install off, I would like to try it in a smaller scale. I like how these works are still strong enough to be read individually but also have been installed in a way where they read as the same and as one.
Tumblr media
^ Jackson Pollock's 'Mural', 1943, at the Royal Academy of Arts. https://www.artnews.com/feature/where-is-jackson-pollocks-mural-1202685945/
Like one of the earlier images, I really like how the audience has to move around the painting and travel along it to really discover each element. The idea of movement when exploring and viewing the work is also a nice relation and connection to the movement that making the actual paintings required.
Tumblr media
^https://www.nbcnews.com/id/wbna43625443
Once more, I think this kind of corner install is really interesting and I think it allows for a really interesting conversation and comparison between the two paintings. I feel like this install is going to be one of the most possible considering the amount of space we have available. So I think I'd definitely like to try and play around with this idea of installation.

a writing blog for RUE SILVER from the good neighbor graphic novel - featuring a character study in : sapphism, sexual identity, faeries, half human hybrid, religious identity and the chosen one. Please do not reblog this post.

Nothing but my headcanons, graphics and other original characters belongs to me. Rue Silver and The Good Neighbors Trilogy rightfully belongs to writer Holly Black and artist Ted Nefiah. This writing blog is just for fun and appreciation.

Tumblr media
THE HALFLING : RUE SILVER ☂️
it is important to note that my rue silver is a sapphic lesbian and that her best friend / ex - boyfriend, Dale is nonbinary. They've hooked up before and their relationship has its baggage but they do care still about one another. Their relationship and the drama around them is more or less what started these two off on their own journeys of self discovery shortly before the events of the first book and then into it with Dale being more openly nonbinary and Rue figuring herself out with her sexuality and being half human after her mother's disappearance.
In the books canon, Rue Silver is Jewish on her father's side as seen with one single page where she is attending her mother's "funeral" with a Rabbi present. Because I do not specifically have a Jewish-Asian (more specifically Korean) faceclaim at the moment -- my interpretation of Rue is simply religiously Jewish. Furthermore, I am not Jewish but I love learning about Judaism with the right information from website links and books. Any recommendations on Jewish literature and music is greatly appreciated.

DENNIS QUAID DROPS INTO HERNANDO'S HIDE-A-WAY
Actor Dennis Quaid dropped in to perform at Hernando’s Hide-A-Way nightclub in Memphis, Tennessee on July 28, 2021. Quaid, who played Jerry Lee Lewis in the movie Great Balls of Fire, performed many of Jerry Lee’s songs to full house. Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley used to play this historic club, which is just up the street from Graceland along with many other notable musicians.
Country music artist Dale Watson bought the club and has brought it back to life. Watson is an independent creative visionary with a smooth beautiful voice, thick perfectly coiffed white hair, a great sense of humor and a passion for music.
Watson plays at the club and lives in Memphis with his wife Celine Lee when he is not touring.
He has also brought the Ameripolitan Music Awards to Memphis. Watson hopes Hernando’s Hideaway will be a hub for Ameripolitan music.
What a great asset to Memphis Watson has become helping keep the vibe that made Memphis music famous worldwide alive.
If you can’t make it in person, you can follow what’s going on at Hernando’s Hide-A-Way TV here.

I think tumblr ate my ask or it just didn't sent but what are your favorite Bastille songs / what are some songs you recommend?
i did NOT get this ask im very sorry anon.
it's genuinely hard for me to narrow down cause bastille is pretty up there in terms of favorite artists. i love all their shit, but a special mention goes out to their second studio album wild world since it's the one that made me a Fan
uh so here's a primer i guess i spent too much time on this lmao.
if you wanna listen to their big hits:
flaws - their first single in the uk. if you ever listened to ship playlists on 8tracks in like 2013-2015 then you've probably heard this song or a variant on it at some point.
pompeii - this is the song that really put them on the map and you definitely know it. it dominated the charts all over the place.
happier - the marshmello song that you've definitely heard before too. i think bastille wrote this for justin bieber or some shit but then decided they liked it too much to give it to him? lmao. anyway if you're not digging the version you hear on the radio all the time i recommend trying the stripped down version
good grief - their big hit off their second album. big in the uk, didn't really make as many waves elsewhere, but it's a really solid song anyway. one of those "upbeat tunes that's actually really fucking sad" ones
things we lost in the fire - another one off their first album. if you live in a wildfire area this might not be one to turn to. or maybe you'll find it cathartic idk i certainly do!!
quarter past midnight - a song about escapism, as was fitting when it was released in 2018 and equally fitting now. running away for a night of fucking around with friends, craving any kind of brief departure from the chaos of the modern world
skulls - this one was not a hit or a single and is technically a bonus track but i'm including it because once again if you ever clicked on a ship playlist on 8tracks in like 2013-2015 you've heard this one. and you know what that was justified this one is also good
if you wanna feel existentially depressed:
their whole discography. i mean i kid but i also don't. that's just kind of how bastille does it. BUT IN ALL SERIOUSNESS ones that hit me in particular would beeee
two evils - kind of a grim, haunting one introspecting about morality of the self.
oblivion - musing about the afterlife, love, and how time changes all of us.
those nights - contemplating what it is we seek when we plunge into reckless escapism, and the inherent loneliness of it; how even when surrounded by people there's still the pressure of the world outside, continuously coming to pieces
the draw - this one was written about the pull of pursuing a career in music vs. staying home with family and friends. in a broader sense, it can apply to a lot of things. i always felt it resonated with feelings of paranoia and displacement
winter of our youth - discusses childhood, nostalgia, and regret. if it feels like everything's slipping away, is it easier to relive the past, especially if the past is tinted rose?
sleepsong - loneliness, desperation, and the cyclical, abyss-like nature of all it encapsulates
if you want discussion of serious topics:
final hour - a bonus track off their second album that also became a bonus track off their third album? anyway this song talks about climate change and gun control. happy stuff
doom days - this one talks about, uh, everything! doomscrolling, political divides, escalating national tensions, climate change again, etc.
the currents - a song centered on political rhetoric and the power that figureheads have over the masses, the way they can orchestrate hate. basically it's not so subtly aimed at donald trump lmao, dan's literally sung it as much in a few live settings
WHAT YOU GONNA DO??? - social media addiction and the way capitalism and corporate interests have annexed our online experiences, fighting desperately for our attention as they seek to monetize every available aspect of our lives
four walls (the ballad of perry smith) - well this one is about uh. perry smith. who was charged with the death penalty for killing 4 people in the late 50's. but it's less directly about him and more a discussion of the morality of the death penalty and capital punishment
snakes - burgeoning anxieties and the impulse to turn to easy outs, like ignorance or alcoholism, to escape the world's global problems
if you want some pop culture sprinkled on top:
icarus - greek mythology. i like this one because it addresses something that i feel isn't addressed enough in discussions of this myth, which is that icarus is a very young lad. less about the pride of the fall, and more about the inherent tragedy of that.
laura palmer - the whole song is a david lynch shoutout. i've never seen twin peaks myself but the song still slaps.
daniel in the den - christian mythology. discusses the biblical tale of daniel in the lion's den and links that up to themes of betrayal and family.
poet - this one's a double feature, referencing both william shakespeare's sonnet 18 and edmund spencer's sonnet 75. also one of my favorites.
send them off! - this is another one of my favorites of theirs. it's also been described by dan as "othello meets the exorcist" and it very much delivers there
if you want something uplifting:
joy - while bastille (understandably) has a bit of reputation as a band that makes sad music about sad things, they've definitely got some happier songs in their catalogue. pun intended cha ching. this one's one of their more straightforwardly happy tunes
survivin' - this was a song they wrote while they were touring and then felt weird about releasing once the panini hit because it felt a bit on the nose. they ended up releasing it anyway and i am so glad they did cause it's a mood
act of kindness - the "happy" part here is debatable but i'm gonna include it anyway. it’s when someone does something nice for you and that impulse Changes you way down deep you know???
warmth - one of those "the world's going to shit but at least we have each other" kinds of tunes
the anchor - one of those "the world's going to shit but you're the one fucking thing that's still keeping me here" kinds of tunes
give me the future - their latest single as of this writing and one of the more optimistic tracks in their catalogue imo! it's yearning, but it's also with a genuine hope for the future.
and LASTLY. because im going to take every chance i can to plug this band. im going to throw some collabs and covers at you because there's one thing this band does SUPER well and it's collabs and covers.
of the night - this is the big one. it mashes up rhythm of the night by corona and rhythm is a dancer by SNAP! and it's so good they still do this one live and it goes off every time.
no angels - a mashup of "no scrubs" by TLC and "angels" by the xx, poured into a strangely mournful tune with clips from the hitchcock movie psycho. doesn't sound like it should work but it does. kinda really does.
torn apart - with GRADES and lizzo no less!!! it's got two parts but they're both excellent listen to them both
weapon - collab with angel haze, dan priddy, and F*U*G*Z and one of my absolute favorites
remains - remix of their song "skulls" but featuring rag'n'bone man and skunk anansie that adds an entire new dimension to the song, really fucking excellent
old town road mashup - lil nas x's old town road meets lizzo's good as hell meets radiohead's talk show host meets talking heads' road to nowhere meets the osmond's crazy horse. "what the fuck that shouldn't work" i KNOW and yet here it is!! BLATANTLY BANGING!!!
we can't stop - one of the few times dan smith subtly changes the lyrics of the song he's covering (most of the time he opts to keep the original pronouns and the like, which is very nice to see). anyway this one mixes miley cyrus's we can't stop with eminem's lose yourself and billy ray cyrus's achy breaky heart. and also the lion king's i just can't wait to be king is there. yes i know it sounds batshit especially because the whole thing is surprisingly melodic and heartfelt and you know what it works.
anyone but me x nightmares - mashing up joy crookes' anyone but me with easy life's nightmares and absolutely one of my favorites.
bad guy mashup - how many songs can they include with the word "bad" in the title? we've got bad guy (billie eilish), bad decisions (bastille), bad romance (lady gaga), and bad blood (taylor swift). bastille even has a song called bad blood and they didnt use it. they used taylor swift's version. also the distinctive guitar riff from dick dale's misirlou is there.
somebody mashup - how many songs can they include with the word "some" in the title? someone like you (adele), somebody told me (the killers), somebody to love (queen), use somebody (kings of leon), and someone you loved (lewis capaldi). seriously these guys take mashups to a new level.
final song - this is a cover of MØ's final song. it also adds in craig david's 7 days and, impossibly enough, europe's final countdown. how does it work. how.
ALL RIGHT. THATS ALL IVE GOT IN ME. HOPE THIS HELPED ANON AND IM SORRY IF THIS IS TOO MUCH

Dirt in the Diamond from Renee Maria Osubu on Vimeo.
Dirt in the Diamond, a short film, set in 1970’s London, explores the duality of grief and celebration within the mourning period of Jamaican culture. The film pays homage through its style and use of archival footage, to the generations before us, who have been intentional about preserving our customs, traditions and communities after immigrating to the UK and enduring the difficulties that came with it.

i was tagged by @snyderzack thank you szabi 💜
nickname: emi, and for my older relatives mili
pronouns: she/her
star sign: libra
height: 163 cm
time currently: 11:41 pm
birthday: october 21
favorite groups/bands: bastille, the maine, 5sos, you me at six, nothing but thieves, imagine dragons, all time low
favorite solo artists: the only serious solo artist that i listen to are james bay and george ezra. otherwise, as i realized while thinking about this question, i only listen to non-serious solo artists like danny gonzalez (his music is really good tho)
song stuck in your head: 'just one day' from bdg's newest video. the four distinct voices and dale's verse are just *chef's kiss*. other than that the gerard way version of happy together bc i'm in an umbrella academy kind of mood
last movie you watched: raya and the last dragon which was a lot of fun and VERY beautiful
last show you binged: i don't usually binge shows, but i did watch zoey's extraordinary playlist in about a week
when you created this blog: 2012 i think?
last thing you googled: 'the gherkin london' for my teaching practice (it's complicated)
other blogs: i don't have any
why you chose your url: bc i love bastille's sophomore album wild world
do you get asks: very rarely
how many people you are following: 355 but a lot of them are inactive i'm just lazy to go through and unfollow them
average hours of sleep: the normal 6-8 hours. the only thing i mostly have under control is my sleep schedule
lucky number: 21
instruments: i have zero musical ability or training so nothing. i'd love to be able to play the piano tho
wearing: my usual black tshirt black sweatpants combo w/ socks that have broccolis on them
dream job: i don't want to work thx
dream trip: at this point i'd go anywhere, but denmark, sweden, finland and norway are among my top destinations, maybe on a longer trip so i can go to all of them at once
favorite food: wiener schnitzel like any proper hungarian, and i also love lángos which i won't try to explain what that is
favorite song: it changes a lot, but one song i'd say i've been in love with since i first heard is skulls by bastille, it was the first song of theirs that really gripped me years ago and it still slaps. also moral panic by nothing but thieves (the whole album of that same name is a fav but the song itself is just wonderful)
top 3 fictional worlds to live in: i don't have any where i'd really like to live, i think... maybe percy jackson? but being a demigod sounds stressful so maybe not. i'm good with average life. but i'd love to live in a place that's as beautiful as ac odyssey is bc it has my favorite video game scenery ever!
i'll tag @dani-clayton @niinazenik @lewis-darcys and @kilmongers (but only if you want to, feel free to disregard it)
