Ever since watching IT back in 2019 (didn't care for it much in 2017), I got scared of this lady and had nightmares over it >O< but until then I started getting used to this character and decided to draw a fanart of her ^^ a one time thing ^^

It's as if we just exited film awards season and now we are in Emmy For Your Consideration (FYC) season and there is already talk about possible 2024 Oscar nominees with the excellent Ben Affleck directed AIR (an interesting and engaging look at how the Michael Jordan collaboration changed the landscape for Nike and athlete campaigns forever) being bandied about. Cannes Film Festival is in May, but before that we can see some of the more pedestrian films that will be adorning theater marquees in coming months thanks CinemaCon - the annual showcase for theater owners.

Hopefully no one will be getting served with legal papers this year!

CinemaCon's schedule

April 24 is International Day where there will be panels discussing the global disruption due to the pandemic, global box office and movie marketing.

Honored during International Day will be producer Barbara and her brother Andres "Andy" Muschietti (THE FLASH) as International Filmmakers of the Year and AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER will be honored with the Comscore International Box Office Achievement Award.

Sony Pictures is the studio to kick off the event. While they have not named a spotlight film, it's likely films that will be touted are: SPIDERMAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE and SPIDERMAN: BEYOND THE SPIDERVERSE

(trailer for the former will drop Tuesday) ,the sex comedy NO HARD FEELINGS starring Jennifer Lawrence, the live-action HAROLD AND THE PURPLE CRAYON, Neil Bomkamp's GRAN TURISMO live-action adaptation that stars Orlando Bloom so you know it will be pants, EQUALIZER 3, KRAVEN THE HUNTER, the untitled GHOSTBUSTERS sequel, Dakota Johnson's MADAME WEB

The evening Universal and Focus Features will highlight their upcoming slate.

Films likely to be showcased: OPPENHEIMER, FAST X, STRAYS, POLITE SOCIETY, Alexander Payne's THE HOLDOVERS, BOOK CLUB: THE NEXT CHAPTER, the animated RUBY GELMAN: TEENAGE KRAKEN, the adaptation of the 80s series THE FALL GUY cleverly titled THE FALL GUY starring Ryan Gosling, KUNG FU PANDA 4, the untitled PLEASE DON'T DESTROY film featuring the comedy trio of SNL writers Ben Marshall, John Higgins, and Martin Herlihy (the latter two being sons of SNL writers Tim Herlihey and Steve Higgins). Halloween, the direct sequel to the original 1978 horror epic, is close to its release now and the box-office predictions have already made it the most successful opener of the franchise. The current reports forecast it to open with $40 million or even above than $50 million, during its initial weekend. Halloween is going to open big at the US Box-Office! And it may end up being the biggest horror installment in the series, undoubtedly, given the rave reviews and reactions, it’s got so far from nearly every major critic. Also, the film has been declared a certified fresh, with a score of 85% on the top movie reviews & rating website, Rotten Tomatoes. Well, for now, the biggest horror movie of all-time, domestically in the US, is last year’s Andres Muschietti directorial, It. It grossed around $123.4 million when it arrived in September 2017. Good casting for older Ben and Eddie. Ben is omg hot. LOL. Nice.

It was fun to match up the kid to the adult.

I still just don’t get how Pennywise was a thing.

Why were there so many more gay undertones here?

Spoiler: [About Mike calling his whole gang back to Derry, Maine after Pennywise is on the prowl again. He had managed to kill one of the victims of a hate crime when one guy is beat up and thrown over the bridge during a homophobic attack on a couple. The gang’s memories have pretty much disappeared since they left Derry, but they feel the scar they cut into their hand of the pact to come back and kill it. Stanley gets the call and kills himself by cutting his wrists in the bathtub instead of coming back home. Beverly leaves an abusive husband to meet them. Billy is now a writer, but can’t come up with a good ending for any of his stories. Richie is a stand up comic. Eddie is a risk analyst. The gang meets at a restaurant and catch up until they see illusions of Stanley’s death. They call Stanley’s wife and discover his death, but Beverly reveals that she knows of everyone’s death ahead of time because she dreams it. This is due to her having seen the dead lights back in the day. Richie and Eddie constantly try to leave, but are convinced otherwise. Bowers escapes from a psychiatric hospital and helps attempt to kill the gang. Pennywise, in the meantime, manages to kill a little girl named Vicky by attracting her underneath the bleachers of a ball game and saying he’ll get rid of her face birthmark. He eats her. He kills a little boy, who now lives in the home of Bill and can hear the voices of the dead children and Pennywise. Bill tried to save him, but fails to do so at the mirror maze at a fair. Mike explains to Bill his discoveries throughout his whole time staying in Derry. He stole an artifact from the Native Americans, who did a ritual to get rid of Pennywise long ago. Pennywise is basically the embodiment of the dead lights. He explains this to Bill by drugging him and making him see all the visions of the past. The gang end up visiting their old clubhouse and discover personal items, which they sacrifice into the artifact later. They have Stanley’s shower caps, Beverly’s love letter from Ben, Ben’s yearbook page signed by Beverly, Eddie’s inhaler, a rock thrown by Beverly to destroy Bowers gang back when they attacked the losers’ gang, Georgie’s paper boat, and a game token. Beverly visited her old home and found a new grandma living there after her father’s death. The grandmother gets taken over by it and attacks her. Ben goes back to high school and relives memories before being attacked by it. Richie experiences going to the arcade and being called a fag when he asked a guy to keep playing a game with him at the arcade. He experiences a large Paul Bunyan statue attacking him as it later. Eddie experiences saving his mother from it and not being able to stand dirty things. Eddie manages to choke it’s manifestation to death for now. Richie wants to go home but stops by the church where he came for Stanley’s bar mitzvah. Bill finds his childhood bicycle at an antique shop and buys it back for a whoppin $300. He screams at the drain to ask why they took Georgie of all the boys and he gets his paper boat back, but is told that he wasn’t there. Bowers shows up and stabs Eddie in the cheek, but is stabbed back in his chest by Eddie. We are back at the house where all the shit went down. They descend to the sewers and perform the ritual around the artifact. They seal the dead lights in it, but Pennywise turns into a giant and start attacking them. Pennywise reveals that the previous people who performed the ritual all died. Bill, Ben, and Beverly enter nightmares. Bill conquers his guilt of being part of Georgie’s death and escapes. Ben and Beverly escape through their love for each other. Richie and Eddie are trapped to choose between 3 labeled doors of one that is scary, one that is really scary, and one that is not scary. It ultimately gets to them. Richie distracts It from Mike and ends up being impaled and dies. Before he dies, he tells the others that he managed to kill the manifestation by making it feel small. Everyone manages to mock Pennywise into feeling lesser than and making him physically small. They

end up being able to retrieve his heart and squish him to death. The cave crashes in so they make their way out, leaving Eddie’s body behind. They wash up in the lake and comfort Richie, who cries hard for Eddie. The scars on their hands disappear. Ben and Beverly are now a couple. Richie goes to a bridge to recarve over his previous carving of his initials with Eddie’s. Mike leaves Derry and lives a new life. Bill finishes writing a story. Stanley had sent them all letters before he died and they read. He mentions that they had to be united to stand up against Pennywise and he couldn’t do it, so he killed himself to give them a good playing field.]
