Ketika itu, di mobil sepanjang perjalanan pulang, di tengah hujan deras, dia tengah bercerita tentang mendiang ibunya, juga mendiang ayahnya. Bagaimana keduanya meninggal dan bagaimana dia menyembuhkan lukanya. Untuknya, perjalanan menyembuhkan luka sama sekali tidak mudah. Bertahun-tahun. Tidak seperti lesi fisik yang sembuh dalam hitungan hari atau bulan.
Aku mendengarkan, sambil sesekali menanggapi, tapi tidak banyak. Aku tahu, dia sedang merasakan keleluasaan bercerita. Ini hal yang berharga untuknya, dan dia menceritakan sesuatu yang sedemikian dalam untuk teman yang baru dua pekan dia kenal.
Cerita Octa mengingatkanku pada buku yang tengah kubaca.
Kebetulan, aku juga sedang membaca dua buah buku dengan topik yang sama dan judul yang cukup mirip. The Gifts of Imperfection karya Brené Brown dan Love for Imperfect Things karya Haemin Sunim. Kebetulan yang menjadi sangat relatable dengan cerita Octa.
Dalam bukunya, Brene menceritakan bagaimana pengalaman hidupnya dan juga riset yang ia jalani untuk menerima ketidak sempurnaan diri. Part tulisan yang membuatku merasa terkoneksi adalah, ketika Brene menulis bahwa kita tidak seharusnya berbuat baik kepada orang lain, tanpa berbuat baik terhadap diri kita sendiri.
Senada dengan tulisan Haenim Sunim yang berbunyi,
"When we become kinder to ourselves, we can become kinder to the world."
Sejujurnya, aku bukan seseorang yang menaruh fokus besar terhadap mental health. Aku bahkan tidak begitu menyukai penggunaan terminologi self-love karena, dalam persepsiku, self-love bisa menjadi pisau bermata dua. Di satu sisi, dia baik karena dengan mencintai diri sendiri sehingga kita bisa menerima kondisi kita saat ini. Kita berupaya mensyukuri semua yang kita usahakan, dan tentu semua yang Tuhan berikan.
Tapi aku akan menjadi sangat berhati-hati, ketika terminologi self-love ini menjadi sebuah pembenaran. Pembenaran atas ketidakberdayaan kita, atas kesalahan-kesalahan diri. Pembenaran seringkali berujung pada tindakan pembiaran. Membiarkan diri berada dalam kubangan yang sama, enggan berubah lebih baik.
Namun, cerita Octa dan dua buku yang kubaca entah kenapa mengingatkanku pada sebuah tutur Nabi.

I guess I don’t know when all of this started. I don’t know where the beginnings of threads were sparked nor where the lines were emanating from. It’s all big tumble of jumbled edges and confusing contortions of reality. But I do know that I just want to write now. Maybe because it helps me through the swerves.
After a big car crash, leaving me unable to walk or exercise and just honestly feeling like shit, I’ve put on so much weigh and it’s really bothering me. They reckon I might have liver disease which probably;y ins’t surprising since I was drinking a few bottles of wine a week before the accident. Now there’s heart problems and I’m just like, seriously?
But also, I know I kept wishing for things to just end before the accident so who knows. I guess I brought it all on myself. But anyway, I digress.
At the moment, I just want to feel alive again. 
I am still searching for hope.
And in the lack of control I have, I want to find some stability. I remember the times when I controlled everything I ate and how much I exercised - it was amazing. Sometimes the hallucinations were wild, but I just remember feeling so in tune with things. Everything seemed to be working through itself and through me. I don't know - maybe I was just trying to control everything at that time. And maybe now I want to go back to something in that time, to find some part of me that was lost during that time. It makes sense. 
Where has that driven, motivated, hard working girl gone? She had life happen to her and she lost herself somewhere. Like I said, I don’t know where she wandered off the path but I can definitely say it had to do with being a puppet signed to a major label recording contract and not having any control to be an artist. But even now, when I have all the control I could possibly want, how come I can’t find that drive? Why do I sit and wait for someone to save me? Why do I want to be looked after? Updates
The central concept now is based around story-telling, nostalgia and vulnerability. The goal is to start conversations about people that we miss. Through this using the spaces as an emotional cue to reflect.

To do this we plan to collect stories and illustrations. Not only from the anonymous public but from ourselves and our peers as well. The idea is to think of someone you miss and draw out a space/ floor plan to represent the space that person existed in. 
We propose to do this through the distribution and collection of postcards. These postcards will provide a curated data response. Due to challenges from our previous project we established a system to collect raw data that would be more useful for us to interpret and share. 
For this first data collection, we wanted to restrict the type of response we received so as to streamline the creation process. By using the nets and limited lines for writing, this formally restricted people into only including the essentials. We then went on to hand out and collect postcards from Uni peers, Friends, Parents, Lecturers etc. The more diverse stories the better. 
Using Fusion 360 we modeled the current rooms based off the floor plans into models. From here we exported the outlines of the room as a North East isometric view PDF. This was then converted into illustrator and coloured using our scheme of purple and orange. Fusion 360 also allowed us to create the nets for the laser cutter to make the physical models. In partnership with the laser labs technician we were able to adjust the Kerf/ tolerance of the laser. This eliminated the use for glue and proceedingly provides a more efficient construction. 
Ordering NFC tags and sensors our plan is to create a screen based interactive story sharing experience. 
Our plan is to create physical models of the collected rooms and use them as a direct feedback to the user. With this in mind our goal is to collect, model and transcribe at least 50 stories. From here using the sensors, and playing around with the idea of an immediate responsive installation. 
Though plans may change, our main goal is to collect and share stories about the people we miss and the spaces they existed in. 
Possible Directions
As for the direction we want to go in with this data, we have discussed creating a public interactive installation. This is inspired by Joseph Michael’s Auckland Live brief and will involve one of the screens in either the engineering building or Aotea Square. The installation will utilise tactile interaction (with the models) and a reactive screen-based aspect.
The rooms will be distributed around the public area and people are encouraged to bring the models up to a platform in front of the screen. When placed on the platform, the corresponding model will show up on the screen and be able to be interacted with. This, we believe, will be an effective method of sharing the stories we collect and provoking thought about the people we miss. 
We believe this tactile approach will be advantageous as we noted that all of our past testers immediately wanted to play with and take apart the models. Hence, the tactile response is important to the interaction. 
For this interaction, we are prototyping NFC tag reading to distinguish the different rooms- linking the stories with the models. 
Feedback plan
As our narrative is a universal one; the feelings surrounding loss and nostalgia, our audience is the general public. We also want to explore the vulnerability brought about by sharing an intimate story anonymously.
In our testing, we will endeavour to keep that anonymity for our testers. 
A diverse audience is our main goal. Everyone we believe has a story and misses someone or a space. In this case for us, it means that our general audience is anyone; anyone seeking vulnerability and connection.
We propose to continue collecting qualitative data from people, through the use of postcards to anonymously collect curated responses. Note that our qualitative data means we are collecting stories in the form of not only words but also illustration.
This includes testing of the layout of the postcards, the nets and how effective this is for us when interpreting them into 3D models. We will also be testing the responses themselves, any noticeable trends/outliers. Testing how people remember spaces will help further our discovery of connection. 
We decided on this format because the subjectiveness of this topic. Everyone has their own stories and we hope to evoke a personal response that is free from quantitative restraints. 
We will also be testing the output method with some of the people who have submitted stories. This is to ensure that they are comfortable with our interpretation of their drawings and stories in the installation itself. We believe this sort of feedback is important for such a personal topic as we need to respect the vulnerability of those submitting their stories and it will help to make our piece more collaborative. 
This raw story data will be directly used as our main artifact. We are collecting stories of people’s memories of other people and spaces. Directly interpreting the feedback responses to represent our greater narrative.

GLAMUROZNA PROMOCIJA NOVOG ALBUMA SUZANE JOVANOVIĆ OKUPILA CELU ESTRADU
Sinoć je u hotelu „Hilton“ u Beogradu priređena glamurozna promocija novog, dugo najavljivanog albuma Suzane Jovanović. Posle 11 godina pauze od prethodnog CD-a, Suzana je ponudila sedam potpuno novih pesama, dve obrade, a na CD su dve nove pesme stavljene i u „lajv“ verziji („Usamljena zver“ i „Kontra“). Autor novih pesama (među kojima su još i „Ne idi, ne idi“, „Ptice“, „Četiri strane sveta“...) je Goran Ratković Rale, a tekstove su uradili Marina Tucaković i Stevica Simeunović. Dve obrade su „Gde si dušo, gde si rano“ od sarajevskog kantautora Mugdima Avdića Hende i „Da sam tvoje zlato“ od Borisa Bizetića. Za devet pesama snimljeni su spotovi, od čega je sedam režirao Dejan Milićević (uglavnom sa scenama snimljenim u Istanbulu) i Goran Šljivić. Svi spotovi su prikazani sinoć na promociji, posle čega je Suzana otpevala dva (od tri) dueta sa CD-a sa Viki Miljković i Peđom Medenicom. Treći duet je sa Sašom Matićem, ali on nije mogao da prisustvuje promociji zbog ranije zakazanog nastupa. Prisutni su posebno pozdravili dolazak tekstopisca Marine Tucaković koja se duže vrijeme bori sa bolešću. Na promociji, za koju se tvrdi da je koštala nekoliko desetina hiljada evra, su bila i deca Suzane Jovanović i Saše Popovića, odnosno njen sin Danijel iz prvog braka, i njihova zajednička ćerka Aleksandra. Veliko iznenađenje za sve bio je dolazak fudbalskog asa, sada trenera, Siniše Mihajlovića sa suprugom. Pored njih i autora pesama i spotova, te Viki Miljković i Peđe Medenice, promociji su prisustvovali svi članovi žirija „Zvezda Granda“ - Marija Šerifović, Jelena Karleuša, Dragan Stojković Bosanac, Đorđe David, Aleksandar Milić Mili, Ana Bekuta, Snežana Đurišić, i već spomenuta Viki Miljković, koja je bila sa svojim suprugom Draganom Taškovićem Tašketom. Došao je i Slobodan Boba Živojinović (bez Lepe Brene), menadžer Bane Obradović, Milutin Mrkonjić, Miroslav Tanjga sa suprugom (bio je u društvu Mihajlovića), kreator Bata Spasojević, Suzanine  koleginice Zlata Petrović, Goca Božinovska, Mira Škorić i Dragica Radosavljević Cakana (sa suprugom Nebojšom Negićem), potom pevačice koje su stekle popularnost u „Zvezdama Granda“ - Rada Manojlović, Milica Pavlović, Milica Todorović, Jelena Kostov, Slavica Ćukteraš... Takođe su promociji prisustvovale i Gordana i Ilda Šaulić, pa Aca Ilić i Biljana Jevtić, Saša Kapor i Nikolina Kovač, Dragan Kojić Keba, Milan Topalović Topalko, Dinča, Amar Gile, Jašar Ahmedovski, Steva Anđelković, Ćira, Saša Kovačević, „Grandovi“ voditelji Dragana Katić, Vesna Milanović, Sanja Kužet, Voja Nedeljković, i mnogi, mnogi drugi.

El proyecto artístico, ‘La Desbandá. Identidad y memoria’ que cabalga entre el trabajo documental y el conceptual y que enraíza lo personal con lo político, nace de las historias que me contaba mi abuela en el salón de su casa, de cuando tuvieron que coger cuatro cosas y salir huyendo de Málaga porque llegaban las tropas franquistas “cortando cabezas y violando a mujeres”. Era el 7 de febrero de 1937.
Esas historias de mi abuela, que siempre me parecían quedarse a medias (como si de algunas partes no se pudiese hablar), no eran La Historia con mayúsculas que encontraba en los libros. No era la voz visible. Era la de Antonia, una mujer andaluza, que nos hablaba desde lo que había vivido. Siento que esas historias son también las de mi madre, las de mi tía, las de mis primas, las de mi hermana y las mías. Digo que son nuestras porque todas hemos vivido escuchándolas y porque han configurado los dolores y las fortalezas con las que hemos crecido. Para mi abuela, que tenía seis años en aquel momento, la Desbandá fue una aventura: un camino lleno de niñas para jugar, cañas de azúcar para comer… ¿Qué más podía pedir? La mamatoña, su madre, lo vivió desde el lugar de quien deja su casa, sus quehaceres, sin despedirse de sus vecinas y se lanza a caminar con sus hijas y el miedo a cuestas. Caminaban por la carretera de Málaga a Almería, con el mar a su derecha y a la izquierda la montaña. Ella contaba siempre que a lo lejos, en el mar, se veía una lucecita que no le gustaba ni un pelo y cuando estaban llegando a Almería esa luz resultó ser un barco desde el que las bombardeaban. Entonces ya no había juego, ni cañas dulces, solo quedaban los cuerpos esparcidos por aquel camino y el miedo de las que consiguieron sobrevivir.
Fue uno de los episodios más dramáticos de la Guerra Civil española. Maribel Brenes, coautora del libro 1937. Éxodo Málaga Almería, señala que por esa carretera, que ahora se conoce como la carretera de la muerte, se desplazaron entre 100.000 y 300.000 personas tras las amenazas radiofónicas de Queipo de Llano y, más de 5.000 personas murieron en el camino. “Yo iba andando y pisando muertos”, me dice Josefa La Molinera, una de las supervivientes. Sin embargo, esa historia trágica de Andalucía es una historia olvidada.
Ana Leiva, que tiene ahora 97 años, se ha pasado más de 30 sin hablar con nadie lo que vivió aquellos días de febrero. “Después de eso, en mi casa no se habló absolutamente nada. Cada uno se lo tragó y se lo quedó con él”, me cuenta. Ese, me parece, que es un olvido de alguien que está lleno de dolor y necesita seguir viviendo, pero siento que el olvido sobre la Desbandá corre en muchas direcciones y está atravesado también por otros silencios, determinados por la culpa o la vergüenza. 82 años más tarde, con la necesidad de restaurar esas narraciones a medias de las voces que no forman parte de las Grandes Narrativas ni la Historia, llevo a cabo ‘La Desbandá. Indentidad y memoria’, que consiste en una serie de diez retratos de supervivientes de la Desbandá, intervenidos posteriormente con imágenes originales del suceso, fotos personales y otros objetos. Cada imagen va acompañada del testimonio en audio de las protagonistas.
En las charlas con ellas no encontré fechas, ni horas. Encontré con voces llenas de verdades -las verdades que salen del cuerpo-, de desmemoria, de incomprensión y ausencias.
