It’s been raining several hours by the time Paula finds Alex. The woman is stood, staring at her husband’s grave, clearly not seeing or feeling much beyond the ache of loneliness, missing the man who used to calm her nerves. Now, she moves to stand beside her, quietly sharing the umbrella she’s brought with her, giving Alex time before she finally speaks. “He would want you to be happy Alex…” “I am… mostly.” Alex admits, sighing as she glances sideways at Paula. “How did you…” “You told me. He’s always been your rock. Of course you’d come to him after what happened.” Silence falls, Alex considers what Paula has said, then smiles slightly, moving to kiss her softly. “Let’s go home.”
