Damien: They are not!
Scott: They are too!
Damien: Your statement is completely proven wrong by all of the info you’re just clinging to out of sheer stubbornness and stupidity!
Scott: No, you’re displaying a shocking ignorance of the subject matter: Mummies and Zombies are the exact same thing!
Damien: Mummies are wrapped in bandages.
Scott: That’s called a fashion choice!
Damien: … You brought this on yourself. Brian?
Brian: If I were to bite you, you’d turn into a zombie. However, if Abdu were to bite you, all you’d turn into is some schmuck with a mummy bite. So like a zombie who is eaten from the waist down, you have no leg to stand on.
Abdu, joining the three of them: Hey, fellas. What’s going on?
Damien: Mummies and zombies again.
Abdu, to Scott: We’re not the same thing!

The only chicken who can fly
So, while playing with XNALara I looked over Brad’s outfit and recognized most of the piece immediately because they’re in my footlocker out in the garage. This might be a useful resource for anyone looking to cosplay him after this pandemic is over.
Vest: It’s a custom M69 Flak Vest. Probably the easiest way to find one is through someone who makes airsoft gear. The only reason I can figure as to why Kevin and Brad both wore this yellow vest was because they were pilot in command during the missions they were flying.
Shirt: Cotton RPD shirt. Why he’s not wearing something nomex while in the states doesn’t make sense to me. It’s not like he’s trying to keep up appearances in a hostile environment. He should have had a flight suit but that’s a rant for another day.
Pants: ABDU pants also known as Aramid/Nomex. They’re woodland print. They’re different than regular BDU pants as they are made for military aviators. They feel like pajamas and are fire resistant. These might be more difficult to find. Do not iron them. They are not meant to be ironed, just tumble dry and lay them flat on their side to get the nice crease and wrinkles out.
Belt: It is a Condor Rigger’s Belt. Nice belt.
Boots: Those are jungle boots. Super comfy, military surplus sells them. They’ll last longer than most relationship. Be sure to break them in before going anywhere you might be walking for an extended period of time and bring an extra pair of socks. Your feet will sweat and trench foot is bad.
Gloves: Those are M1950 Cattle Hide gloves. They were first issued in WW2 but endured through Vietnam era and beyond. Mine are black under a different issue name but it’s the same thing. You’d wear them to carry gear, work on aircraft and as inserts inside of insulated gauntlets if you were a door gunner. They last forever and run about 7 bucks.
Hope this helps!

Since the poison comes from the mosquito’s own gut and is only lethal to other mosquitos, the students feel they have discovered a delivery mechanism that far surpasses pesticides.
A patent application has been filed through BGN Technologies, the University’s technology-transfer company.
The FlyGEM team is advised by Prof. Lital Alfonta and Dr. Ramon Birnbaum of the department of life sciences. The students also consulted Prof. Uri Abdu and Prof. Emeritus Arieh Zaritsky of the department of life sciences and Dr. Ido Tzurim and Prof. Eitan Ben-Dov of Achva College in southern Israel.
Team leader Mey Tal Banar said it’s “a targeted, innovative method that could replace the current methods of global mosquito control.”
Alfonta added, “After a further pilot project in urban areas to test out our method, there is a good chance that this will become humanity’s next biological pest control method. For now, we have focused on a single type of mosquito, Aedes aegypti, [which can spread dengue fever, chikungunya, Zika fever, Mayaro and yellow fever], but we have the ability to target other disease-carrying mosquitoes.”

UEL Cultural Manoeuvres “Artist talk” by Faisal Abdu Allah
Faisal Abdu Allah is a British artist currently employed by the University of Wisconsin-Madison as an associate professor of art. In this lecture Faisal spoke about his life, career and spiritual enlightenment.
Faisal started the lecture by introducing his parents, who arrived in the UK as a part of the “windrush” generation. His parents taught him jamaican culture as distinct from british.  Their expectation was that their Jamaican culture mustn’t be taken outside of the house. It was private and separate from their experience of British life.  Faisal described his attraction to art at a young age “as an outlet”. He lived in a small house with a large family and used art to “think beyond the physical space I was living in”.
Faisal outlined his sources of inspiration including other black creators such as Eddie Chambers and Donald Rodney.
“I didn't realise there were a number of creators creating through the black lived-in experience”
Later in the lecture, Faisal spoke about his experience working in a barber shop while doing his masters degree.
“There was a period where every month or two months one of my customers would die”
“Most had passed from being shot”.  The contrast with the experience of most white British, post-graduate students is stark.
BBC made a documentary on Faisal’s name change. Originally named Paul Anthony Duffus, Faisal described his lack of connection to his name, upon finding out it was of Scottish origin.
“What does the name mean?”
“i was making that journey from Paul Anthony Duffus to a state of full consciousness and so my name was changed to Faisal Abdu Allah”
All this describes his decision to change his name, I was intrigued and carried out some personal research, from which I discovered this decision arose from his personal religious journey towards Islam. During the essay Faisal also spoke about his father’s ability to see spirits, which preoccupied him when he was young.
Faisal explained the process behind one of his early breakout images, explaining that…
Tumblr media
“Red was for bloodshed, the green is for the promise land and the yellow was representing prosperity or gold”
This image comes with a real understated power.  It balances a sense of radicalism with that of contemporary capitalist marketing and presentation.  It looks sleek and natural but we remain aware that it challenges the status quo.
Following this he showed us a few more pieces of his artwork.  This one stood out to me as he means it to represent his “intellectual and spiritual journey”. It is a photograph of 3 prisms reflecting images of himself.
Tumblr media
“Faith in the unseen”
“Gave me a sense of freedom, a sense of liberty”
The piece demands us to look in, at the detail, in order to understand it on the basis it presents itself, as a progression, as three stages or images, which we must try to unravel in order to understand.. Prayer is a feature, as is faith, the unseen.   The work also makes that understanding difficult and there is a sense of his meaning being almost deliberately obscured, so unseen, yet he will have created this knowing it will be looked at intensely.  Do we need faith?!  Is his meaning intended to be unseen?  In what position is he presenting himself as a result….
Faisal later showed us examples of his installation pieces, when he was a more established artist. An example of his creativity was his photography installation of pictures in a morgue. As part of the immersive nature of his installation,  he ensured the temperature in that space was dropped to reflect the atmosphere of a morgue. The relationship between the artist and his audience is quite complicated here, I thought.
A final example of the many examples of Faisal’s work I found interesting was an installation piece he described that sorted viewers by their eye colour, either going left or right. If the viewers went left they would be in a glowing orange glass room, unable to see past the glass. If the viewers went right they would see the other viewers in the room through the glass, unaware of being watched. Faisal said this piece of work was exploring the idea of the “privileged gaze”.  I thought the random nature of the allocation of visual experience was a purposeful and provoking comment on the reality of the random nature of privilege.
Despite having no obvious connection to my own work, I found Faisal’s lecture and artwork really inspiring. The thought processes and exploration of ideas present in each of his examples were incredibly interesting and I had so much admiration for his ability to provoke and challenge his immediate and wider audience.

WHO ARE THE FULANI, ARE THEY ESAU?
Among ancient and contemporary scholars, the origin of the Fulani people has been a mystery due to diverse opinions. There are, a list of various names that have been given to the Fulani, however, according to Waziri Junayd ibn Muhammad al-Bukhari, the Fulani refer to themselves as TURUDBE’ in their own language Fulfulde or as TURUDIYYA in Arabic. “The Turudbe’ are dispersed throughout the Sahel region of Africa, notice that this is the same area that was name NEGROLAND by the Arabs.
According to Waziri Junayd ibn Muhammad al Bukhari, in an unpublished manuscript, he brings forth earlier sources of the origin of the Fulani origin:
“It is said that the origin of the Turudbe’ are from the Jews. It is said that they are from the Christians. It is said that they are from the Bambara from among the Sudanese who came and settled between the Nile and Euphrates rivers. It is said that they are from a band of the Banu Israel who relocated from the region of Sinai to the lands of Tuur. It is for this reason they are called Turudbe’. TUUR IS A LAND IN THE WESTERN PART OF YEMEN."
The most sound opinion is that they are the descendants of Ruum ibn`Esau ibn Is’haq ibn Ibrahim, (upon them be peace). They settled near the meeting of the two seas.”
The two seas that Waziri is speaking of is the RED SEA and the INDIAN OCEAN. This would place them around the ancient Arab lands of TUUR. Notice that Waziri also said that “they are the descendants of “Ruum ibn ‘ESAU ibn Is’haq ibn Ibrahim,” which means, “Reuel son of ESAU, son of Isaac, son of Abraham.”
If you read Genesis 36:10, the name of one of Esau's sons was Reuel, who was the son of Ishmael's daughter, Bashemath, whose name is also Mahalath in Genesis 28:9.
In 1 Chronicles 1:35 it is stated that Reuel had four sons. Allegedly, it is from one of these sons that the Turudbe’ Fulbe’ descended.
In an unpublished manuscript, Abdullahi Dan Fuduye’ traces the Turudbe’ to ar-Ruum (Reuel) who was a descendent of both Isaac and Ismael, the two sons of Abraham. Abdullahi says: 📖👇🏾
“You also know that this ar-Ruum is the son of Esau ibn Is’haq ibn Ibrahim, upon them be peace. His mother was Nasmat the daughter of Isma’il ibn Ibrhim upon them be peace. Dhu’n-Nasibeen said in his Kitab’t-Tanweer: “Isma’il fathered twelve boys and one girl and it was from his descendants that all the Arabs descended. When death approached he bequeathed to his brother, Is’haq (Isaac), that his son, Esau should be married to his daughter, and from their marriage ar-Ruum (Reuel) was born. Ar-Ruum was YELLOWISH IN COLOR for which reason his children were called the BANU al-ASFAR (Yellow Folk).”
📖📚Attached is a document from " The Encyclopedia of Arabic Literature Vol 1 page 167," It states what Banu al-Asfar means. Keep in mind Esau merged with Chittim (The Romans)📚📖
However, there is discrepancy on, whether or not “ar-Ruum” is the real name or an honorific title. In the “An-Nasab wa’s-Sahr” another name is given for the son of Esau ibn Is’haq. The text says:
“It is said regarding the lineage of the Fulaani in the Hassan’l-Muhaadira of as-Suyuti: “They are traced back to ‘IMRAAN IBN FULAAN IBN AL-ESAU IBN IS’HAQ.” It says in the Taaj’l-Uruus: “Their origin is from the TUKRUUR, a NATION FROM THE BLACKS in the lands of the far west. This was narrated by as-Safaani, although our teacher denies this.” - An-Nasab wa’s-Sahr, unpublished manuscript in possession of author, By: Bashir ibn Ahmad ibn Modi Abdu ibn Bellel
Waziri Junayd, cited that Turudbe’ (Fulani) migrated to the west, until they reached the lands of Futa Toro. Waziri also demonstrates that the emergence of the Turudbe’ were from among the Fulbe’ people because of a merger with the ARABS.
Shaykh Bashir ibn Ahmad gives a summary of the identity construct of the Turudbe’ Fulbe’ people, he said: 👇🏾 👉🏾“The Fulaaniyum (Fulani) as we said previously are Arabs from the direction of their ancestor, Uqba. The Arabs are originally from Isma’il ibn Ibrahim. From the direction of their paternal uncles, the TURUUDIYA are from “Ruum, 👉🏾ibn Esau👈🏾, ibn Is’haq, ibn Ibrahim and from the direction of Nasma, the mother of Ruum. She too is from Isma’il ibn Ibrahim, upon him and our Prophet be blessings and peace.”👈🏾 - Bashir ibn Ahmad, f.12
It is historically documented from a former slave, by the name Mitwo from the Bahom people, who was captured by the Fulani, that the Fulani are the ones who were trading slaves to the white men and that Fulani had slave markets throughout different parts of Africa.

I resident dj sono Virgil Abdu (from M&M - #DoubleM) e D.Rusich (from Lazy Dogs). Ogni giovedì la festa garantisce un'atmosfera scatenata.
Sabato 16 dicembre invece in console arriva Rudeejay.
