It's funny but also sad, how Clone Wars, a kids cartoon, managed to be more mature, have more depth of character, more moral depth and understand and show the horrors of war and the crushing pressure of being seen as the salvation of the world(/Galaxy) better than the Grishaverse, a YA series, also starring a teen female protagonist pushed facing a massive war and a chosen one (granted, CW had them as two different characters, but the point still stands).

What do you say to people who call current kids animation "derivative, forgetful and uninspiring" because of the type of shows that are out now compared to the ones before that were SOO much better /s?

Man it suuuucks. There are so many fun and good cartoons on TV rn!! Like I get it, if you don’t like modern cartoons that’s fine, but it might be good to evaluate why and not shit on the entire industry? Maybe you just outgrew cartoons and that’s okay! Times change, general senses of humor change and kids nowadays (who are the target demographic mind you) just have different tastes.

I find that a lot of people who complain about modern cartoons don’t actually watch them. They’ll watch a preview or a trailer and be so quick to judge. There’s a lot of quick, witty, smart humor in these shows! Of course there’s gonna be bad ones, and every series is gonna have their weak episodes. There’s a lot of modern cartoons I ADORE and there’s also some I don’t care for and am not interested in. Same goes for cartoons from my era in the early/mid 2000s. There was some gold but not every show was a banger.

I don’t know why people (mostly adults) can’t grasp that. There’s so much content out there! Go find something you like rather than stew in your hatred over a show that’s not really aimed at your demographic.
