What sports did you/have you played? :: I have played a variety of sports through school's HPE programs but I enjoy Volleyball, Swimming and Rollerblading

There have been quite a few ups and downs in the six or so years since Corisande left their home for Eorzea and ended up joining the Scions. They've changed for the better in some ways--learned more about the world, expanded their horizons exactly as they always wanted; and for the worse in others--more reluctant than ever to burden others with their problems. But they are still the same at their core: a warm, kindhearted bun who wants to help others, learn about the world, and can be found, more often than not, wandering the nearest woods with their oldest friend.

yes so the two characters in the in two drawing are arthur and zarian, the protagonists of my oc story, steelheart! arthur is a human, while zarian is a (conscious, autonomous) futuristic robot called a DRACO, specifically a v1 model.

i touched on it vaguely in this post, but more specifically the deal with DRACOs is this: they're supposed to be mind-controlled jet-motorcycles (that happen to look like dragons, because why not). they interface with the brain of their pilot via an implant attached to the spinal cord, which also serves as a storage compartment that the DRACO can de-materialize into for transport and charging/refueling (how? idk. sci fi future tech hand waving.) the implants look vaguely like this:

the main takeaway of this is that the DRACOs are 1) permanently connected to their pilot and 2) have like. direct access to the pilot's brain

now these things were not made with the whole 'the robots end up being self-aware and conscious' thing in mind, so being connected to an Awake one is... VERY weird. while DRACOs and pilots can't read each other's thoughts, exactly, they can communicate mentally, either by 'speaking' (like. thinking very clearly and distinctly, kind of) or just pushing abstract thoughts and emotions at each other. they're also very in tune with each other, like vaguely aware of where the other is at all times like you would be a limb, unconsciously mirroring each other, etc. aware DRACOs also 'borrow' senses that they don't have from their pilot (as in feel what the pilot feels), such as taste/smell, or sight and hearing when they're de-materialized.

so... not brainfused in the sense that two beings are now ones, but more like two beings semi-sharing a brain and even a body at times.

arthur and zarian get linked (as in, arthur gets the spinal implant) COMPLETELY by accident and have to contend with all this rather abruptly. as you can imagine, suddenly sharing your brain with a stranger (especially one who you thought was/is trying to kill you, and/or maybe possess you, because giant evil vampire robot) doesn't go over great.

but it works out, and they end up weird clingy besties! they're kind of like an opposites-attract situation where they bring out their own traits in the other. zarian is very snarky and a bit defensive, which brings out arthur's more sarcastic side and encourages him to stand up for himself. arthur, meanwhile, is a bit more emotional and playful, and helps zarian learn how to have fun and connect with others.

they're losers and they're my favorite guys ever. it's great

Honestly the people saying that they’re sorry to SEED fans because the movie feels like a teen drama fanfic is sending me, guys did you watch the series. I was expecting nothing less.

No, but my parents had an interesting way of naming my sister and me. If we were boys my mom got to name is, girls and my dad got to name us.

2. When was the last time you cried?

A couple days ago, I think. I cry a lot. 😅

3. Do you have kids?

Only of the animal variety! I actually got surgically sterilized last year because I am very happy in my role as aunt and cat mom. 💖

4. What sports do you play/ have you played?

If knitting were a professional sport I'd be an Olympian.

5. Do you use sarcasm?

Alllllll the timeeeee.

6. What's the first thing you notice about people?

How nice they are. Not in the way that they might be mean, but that they might be too nice. If someone's too nice I don't trust them.

Always a happy ending! I actually can't tolerate scary movies at all.

I'm a very good knitter! And I think I'm an alright crocheter, but that's a much newer endeavor for me.

To retire and volunteer at OMSI (the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry). If you're ever in Portland, Oregon, you NEED to go to OMSI. It's the best.

As a kid I did Judo for a while, then horse riding, unicycling, and handball

I did and, while not regularly atm, still really like to dance :) took standard&latin classes from age 14-18 and again in the last couple years, modern dance both during my bachelor's and the first years of my master's degree, and a semester of pole dance

My absolute favourite: aerial silks ♡ I've been doing it on and of since I was 11, depending on whether I could take classes or find a place for my own silks in the towns I lived - I'm still trying to find a place to practice again at the moment, but I went to classes in a studio last year and even was part of a performance in December, first time in ages :)

My first name (Taylor) is inspired by the singer Taylor Dayne, my mum gave birth on a Sunday when the radio chart show was on. I was actually the first Taylor born at that hospital 😎

When was the last time you cried?

Two days ago, actually because of laughing so hard which is a nice change!

Nope, unless we count my book cause it is basically my baby. 🥹📚

What sports do you play/have you played?

I used to play field hockey in high school. I was a regular at my swimming pool until the 24 hour gym finally opened. 🏑🏊🏻‍♀️

Their clothes or accessories probably, finding something I can compliment someone on is actually kind of handy if my anxiety is particularly bad.

Nope. There's a Strauss opera with my same name, but I don't know if it was what my father was thinking about or he just picked the name out of a book.

Nope, don't plan on having any. Nothing against children, but I don't want one of mine.

What sports do you play/have you played?

Lots. xD As a child I changed sport each year to try most things. The most long lasting ones were swimming, which I left when they tried to pass me in competitive swimming (I did one competition, and up to date it counts as one of the most boring things I ever made). I loved ice-skating and dance! I did more years of tennis but I never liked it much. Skiing. Diving. Sailing. Some volleyball at school.

Who, me? Nooooooooooooooooooooo. sarcastically

How they relate to others.

I overtly rationalize horror: either I start laughing or I fall asleep. I find most horror movies straight-off boring. So, comedies.

I hate the concept of talent, sorry. Breaking nails in half when I try to hang something. I have a pretty good sense of directions. And, saying hello to every single dog and animal I meet in the street. It's just politeness.

Writing, drawing, reading, playing music, collecting vynils and old books and musical instruments (I play the piano and the ukulele. I also love silly instruments: I own a kazoo I never play because it makes me laugh. I would love a otamatone and a theremin), starting new language courses on Duolingo and never finishing one. Getting lost in research pits and writing stories about said research pits.

Do you have any pets?

Sadly not anymore. My last cat died last year, and we had such a close relationship that adopting another one still feels wrong. I would love to adopt a dog, but I don't have the right space for him nor the time/money for an educator (I want a big dog, and it'll need some education.)

Favorite subject in school?

English language and literature! Ancient Greek Physics (fun fact: I applied to Physics at uni. Got in. After a month I ran away xD)

Nope.
