what is special about public domain is that you can SELL him. you could take a screenshot and sell it on a tshirt. you can use him to advertise your plumbing business. people have already uploaded and monetized the original film.

you could always have Mickey say what you want, but now you can profit off it.

generally, i know finn listens to music a lot. everytime i go on discord his spotify status is always displaying some country or rock song from the 80's, even when we're together he always just has to have his earphones in or he goes like batshit and starts getting really anxious hshdn

he also likes to play basketball and skate! yes, he's tried to do both at the same time on several occasions. he once facetimed me to show off him and his roommate at a basketball court, tried to shoot a hoop from behind him and just completely embarrassed himself in front of me, i was screen recording and obv i posted it to twitter ( with his consent ofc )

i know that he's a huge music geek. he's always on his guitar, always mixing stuff on his little interface thingy which is too intimidating and complicated for me to even try and understand. most of the time when he leaves his laptop on when we hang out i just see like a music editor or like google docs w notes and lyrics open, sometimes it concerns me bc hello?? do you even sleep???

lesser known fact about finn, he loves window - shopping. whether it be online or like in malls in the city, i know from his mom that he's always looking at stuff but never buys anything

and when he's not doing any of those things he's either reading some vintage comic book or some teen romance / coming of age novel, writing movie plots and dumping his ideas in his little notebook, or playing whatever videogame is popular at the time

most of the time when we hang out it's with the rest of his friends, which, as you know, consists of a bunch of loud mf vloggers and content creators so we're just listening to them banter and do goofy stuff with their dry ass humor, often having the camera shoved in our face once or twice so they can get extra views

though during the times when it's me knocking at his apartment door at 12 in the morning, or like us hanging out on facetime or on discord, we actually just sit in silence, a super comfy silence

when we have the energy to go out and actually make plans with each other, it's mostly going to watch a movie in cinemas or just on his couch, or to the mall to try and beat every kid's ass at the arcade and bag ourselves a few new plushies, which he always ends up giving to me even though he won them fair n square

whenever we go to the mall we always always have to stop for frozen yogurt, it's literally a requirement for whenever we go out. we cannot go home unless we get frozen yogurt

i always end up with like a keepsake when i hang out with him. especially if i'm visiting him after months and months of being busy with our own projects, i always go home with like a new headband or a new plushie or a new keychain

finn's love languages are definitely touch and gift - giving. him randomly handing me something, even if it's like a cheap box of chocolate from the convenience store, it's like his own little way of going 'i missed you' and it makes me smile so fucking much it hurts

anyways— other than that we're normally just dancing like idiots in our room to taylor swift or some old music, or yelling each other's ear off trying to get mvp in call of duty, or filming stupid shorts that will either never get released to the public, or are posted on my personal tiktok account that only dedicated fans will find ksjsks

just saw someone refer to Zdarsky’s characterization of talia in that urban legends issue as “the talia damian deserves”… she existed as a better character for decades before him than she did after… when will we be free of the misogyny.

but, in all seriousness, it frustrates me because having to deal with this level of character defamation closes the door to so many conversations about talia’s character.

Like, for example, given things like the state of her & bruce’s relationship & the level of complexity that exists there even when they’re at their best bc of the age gap, along with her own history growing up, it’s totally possible that talia’s feelings about parenthood would be deeply fucking complicated. and it’s just something that slides under the radar because people are so busy either trying to compromise with, endorse, or disprove morrison’s (and those who followed’s) mischaracterization of her.

So, in the interest of being constructive: Obv she would love her baby no matter what, but there’s so much that could be said as to whether she’d be ready for that role (especially considering that she had to contend with the possibility of single motherhood), about if she felt like she had the tools to be a good parent in that moment regardless of how much she may love her baby, about whether she feels she knows how to give this baby the upbringing she knows it deserves because she still has a lot of growing to do herself. And to be clear she would be ask these questions out of nothing but love and hope that her baby will live the fullest life the world has ever seen, but it would still be really really fucking hard because it’s not an easy emotional place to be in! and that’s okay! it’s interesting! And that’s not going into the fact that I have never once heard a single person ever confront the possibility that, for all we know, talia could have struggled with post-partum depression. and it’s just so frustrating because examining this part of her story can be fascinating, especially because family, love, and responsibility are all major themes for talia’s character and contending with these sorts of questions through her would be such a fitting setup for deeply human character work. and tbc i do think, even following the line of damian being given up, talia would want to have a family someday, like she would want to be a parent yk? so her having to confront these issues and where she sees sort of faults in her person in the hopes of being better for the child she could have one day in honour of the one she already has? As a thank you for gracing her life, even if only for as long as she got to hold them? we could have had it all.

but hey, at least now she’s the talia damian deserves, whatever that means.

i think so much about the fact that her life from when she gave up damian to when he was introduced was rarely explored in context of that loss! like obv it was never mentioned again bc denny o’neil erased it out of canon for his tenure so no one could bring it up but i think it’s fun to work with that forced erasure and make something of it. like you could totally reason that talia’s behavior immediately following son of the demon (i.e., detective comics annual #1, bride of the demon) could be construed in light of post-partum depression. her strength of character was still there but i feel like there was a sort of childlike petulance to her, too, like she was grasping onto the last threads of happiness that she could have in light of that loss bc it was otherwise traumatizing to go through and process on her own, what with her being the only one to know the truth about his survival. mike w. barr was subtle with it obv but those last pages of bride of the demon always make my heart pang bc you could tell how badly she wanted to be able to share the grief of that with bruce, and yet not even he could bear to talk about it, so you can only imagine what she was going through

i also like to construe some of her later material approaching and following tower of babel as reflective of a developing relief within her at the idea that she didn’t have to be a mother. that period of time is so crucial for her in terms of breaking free of all constraints and expectations and i can picture her having those fleeting thoughts. thank god i gave him away. i don’t know how i would have done it on my own. i can’t handle raising a child. i would spend the rest of my life perpetually in fear for his safety, and i would wither away. not to position her as potentially selfish or anything but i think it’s always impt to note she was very young when she married bruce and like! it’s totally human to experience both a deep grief following such a loss and a deep relief at the idea of not having to bear such a burden as a young woman all alone with no one to support her. but i like it even more so bc i think it could be really fun to capitalize on in light of an introduction to damian where she finds out that ra’s has him. like can you imagine how guilty she would feel knowing she got to break free and forge her own life and make her own decisions meanwhile her father was busy recapturing the child that she was eventually relieved to have given away. i would love to see something like that explored on paper. it’s so much more interesting to me to explore the complicated nuances of talia’s (and bruce’s) “abandonment” of damian and how that would factor into building a relationship with him once they meet him, than is the morrison premise of talia having raised him the whole time bc ofc she had no life outside of the league and never went through an arc to gain independence 🙄

#canon bruce / talia / damian dynamic is a hostile bickering coalition and frankly. it puts me to sleep #i want them to be painfully awkward and confused and hopeful but hesitant and drowning in the grief of inexplicable separation #i want bruce and talia to look at damian and not be able to meet his eyes bc one moment they were prepared to give him everything #and they potentially failed on every front. not bc of any fault of their own. but it feels that way and will feel that way forever #to be deleted

anyways so i made a font of the alphabet/language that all my OCs speak, because I felt like it and it's easier then having to draw the letters every time.

and i made a lil comic thing as soon as I was done with it cus I was excited at my silly little language that I made up during a free english language lesson circa yr10 becoming a font!! that I made obv and I can't distribute it I think but whatever. I'm fluent in it by the way I taught myself it I use it as code. I'm actually writing a smut scene in my physical notebook rn and it's all in eureyic cus I don't want ppl looking over and reading depraved skeleton fucker behaviour. is that TMI.

for context the merch on the left is called Luna Claw Fowler-Fields. she has like 4 last names so she just uses whatever one she's feeling,her sister does the same who is the lil one on the left in the background btw. She is the eldest (adopted) daughter of one Eryl Fields and Loretta Fowler, a ghost and a vampire, Loretta is also the one she is talking too btw. i think thats all the context.

Character. that is sooo welsh he's very welsh and in the context of my OCs universe Eureyic and the country it originates (Eureya ik such a creative name) are basically just Wales. bcus i'm so cool.

I love him he's so cool his name is Annwyll Ambrose and he has a younger sister called Elwynn (the merch he's with on the bottom left) and his dad is called Ffion (guy he's hugging in the middle) and he's aroace and the kids are his lil science alchemy magic babies. A keen eye will notice that Annwyll and Ffion are (apart from being welsh asf) feminine names and Elwynn is a masculine name. there is no big reason for this. i'll be honest he's a redesign of a character i overhauled basically everything about except key traits and when i renamed him i was going all symbolic and chose Annwyll under the assumption it was gender neutral like Morgan is or something. it is not lol.

when i realised i was already attached to the name and was in the process of giving his sister a name so i was like ' y'know what? gimmick. in the Ambrose family girls are given boys names and boys are given girls names. its so silly and cool ' and thats how that is now.

Don't ask about the girl kissing Annys forehead at the bottom. i fear that if i speak anymore i'll just give u a plot synopsis.

Ahhh I just wanted say thank you so much, messages like these are just such a joy to get and I’m so glad you like the content I’ve made for the fandom so far (and I’m sorry it took so long for me to answer this DDD:)!

Also I’m definitely there with you, Terezi and her arc is one of the most important parts to me in homestuck and is really close to my heart.

Anyways in my humanstuck Terezi is, ethnicity wise, Iranian, lives with her Grandma (Redglare) and Sister (Latula), was born with optic nerve hypoplasia (ONH) and is completely blind. 

She and Karkat met on the first day of preschool, they were doing crafts to introduce themselves to the class, Terezi licked all of the chalk and when Karkat asked her why she said that she was trying to find the cherry chalk (Terezi was taught colors thru association with certain foods by her mom)and when Karkat called her a “gross weirdo” she flat out bit him. She then proceeded to spend the next 6 years chasing him all over the playground, threatening to either beat him up or marry him. Both were equally horrifying to elementary school Karkat.

As far as specifically the Davekat comic, she’s still a component in their initial dislike/misunderstanding of each other but less so than canon portrayed. Like they already disliked each other in 7th grade before her and Dave met, but their blooming friendship in 8th grade art class definitely added kindling to that fire and took it to a new level of resentment. But honestly most of all that was more so about Karkat putting way too much stake into their mutual liking as his last ditch effort to prove to himself he was “normal” and liked girls and ONLY GIRLS (especially the more and more he started liking John.) After Karkat becomes friends with Dave, he has this big heart to heart with her after school while walking to the Jamba Juice, they hugged, took a small break from talking with each other over the Summer and by freshmen year are good friends (even if it is still a little awkward till Sophomore year).

As far as Dave, they never date. Like she likes him but after all the drama with Karkat and the general troll friend group, she feels like she was more so trying to distract/distance herself from other things than actually being interested in dating him. And once her and Vriska become friends again (after their falling out due to “The Drama”) and her and Dave spend the whole summer talking only once or twice on facebook, that mutual liking is sort of buried and over with by start of highschool. Like even if they had continued hanging out, Dave probably still wouldn’t have dated her just cause he wouldn’t want it to make Karkat feel weird (bros first yo)

That said she’s still a major part of their lives and is a major component in Dave being readily accepted into the troll friend group during freshmen year. Like she practically spends 50% of her free time from Freshmen to Senior year hanging out with them and Sollux and Aradia, going to deathcore concerts, smoking up in the playground slides, loitering outside the Barnes n Noble and bringing a very chaotic good sort of element to every adventure the group has.

 Like her Gram is a cop and while Terezi has a lot of ideas about morality and law, she has some problems with actual authority, so she’s one of the kids that tends to get into trouble more often. Nothing serious but there is more than one night where she finds herself hiding in the bushes so cops don’t see her and rat her out to the old lady.

One thing that I am really interested in playing with, btw, whether it’s in the main or side comics is her friendship with Sollux, it’s always been something I’ve been interested in exploring but even more so in this universe due to them really bonding and relating over both being super self destructive and general neurodivergent feels. Like I can see them spending hours just smoking in his room, doing absolutely nothing, not saying anything just sitting around in silence while Degrassi played in the background, enjoying the company.

Besides that she spends most of her time with Vriska, either hanging out with John when him and Vris are having their awful relationship period or just walking around the town/river, doing whatever they wanted as long as it meant not going home. Mostly talking about pretty much everything, finding places to sit and listen to music.
