I swear God, I hate drawing this dude. I drew Shiro-4 a few times where I cannot found good references and I faster enjoy the final effect than this 6. I dunno what’s wrong. 

Like you know (I hope) I draw mostly in my trash-art style characters. I have problem with Cayde-6 ‘cuz I don’t have a friking idea how I should show him. More dorky? More badass? Maybe both? Maybe none. From one side I would like to draw him more often but from another side, I usually not enjoy the final effect so I don’t draw him more. I know ppl here likes my fanarts of him but I’m not.

I have an idea how to solve this problem but it will take me a while + I worry he won’t look like him in at game much more than I think. Even here I deleted green parts of his armor and make this dark grey. But to be honest why I so much care. This art blog never was popular and probably never gonna be so... 

Maybe time for more trashy content.

Hello! I love your art, and I’m so glad that there is love for Andal. I saw your fanart and looked into him lore-wise, and I love his story! Sorry if this has already been asked, but is the design choice for his long hair your decision, or is it canon? Sorry if you get this a lot…

Thank you, anon, I'm glad you do! He's so good, I love him dearly & wish everybody more people knew about him ; w ; 💙✨ He has a rather unusual personality for a Hunter, maybe that's why I'm drawn to him so much.

Long hair... Man, that's some sore spot 😂 In short: it's a headcanon (though not exactly mine, people drew him like that years before me) based on the official concept art. The thing is, we have 2 more or less canon versions of Andal - one from the concept art and one from the comics - and they somewhat contradict each other.

I'm gonna elaborate on that under the cut, if some of you are interested.

So, the 1st image of Andal we ever saw was this concept art:

Ofc because of the hood it's impossible to see what exactly his hairstyle is, but if you squint really hard/zoom in super close, you can see that he has his hair pulled back under his hood. Since it's unlikely that he neatly smoothes them back with a gel every morning, him having hair long enough to tie them sounds like a more logical conclusion. At least, that's what I thought when I saw this art. I'm still 90% sure that originally it was a concept art for Cayde before they decided he should be an Exo, but anyway So, this concept art leaved some things to imagination and everyone was happy, until the Curse of Osiris comic dropped. There was Andal looking like this:

It looks... A bit different, lol. I don't hate it, I just like the concept art much better, and it's not about hairstyle at all. This one is just... Too generic, idk.

Anyway, considering this, short hair are more canon, I guess. But since I knew there's no way I'm gonna draw him looking like Tony Stark when we have THIS concept art available, I thought I'll change his hairstyle to what I like more as well. Especially since it was what I saw in like 80% of fanart and already got used to. I felt bad about ignoring the comics 100% though, so I decided to keep some things from it, like that little bump on his nose, a pale eye color and a hairstyle occasionally. I actually like how short hair look on him, it's cute imo! But I just enjoy drawing long hair and in Destiny not many characters have these or any at all, so I take every opportunity I can.

Destiny fandom is totally going crazy right now or what? :’D I never ever made or shared around a so called “Destiny fandom block list”. This is utter bullshit. I didn’t even know that something like this even exists and if so, I’m probably on it either, because I’m a “sinful slutty Cayde fandom mom” and god knows what. Yes, I’ve blocked a handful of people from the fandom, but this didn’t happen for “no reason”. There’s always a reason and in this case I’ve dealt with bullies and death threats, you all know the whole story. not to mention people supporting these bullies and adding to the hate against me. I think the toxic people spreading negativity in our fandom are self-explanatory.  So if I blocked you there is indeed a reason. This didn’t happen for fun. It takes a lot to make me block someone, trust me. I’ve been through enough shit online and I seriously don’t give a fuck anymore wasting my time. So please stop making such a huge deal out of it in never ending posts about it, making me look like the devil and adding ridiculous things like I’m a homophobe who can’t stand to see gay fanart of Cayde. It’s just sad, when I’m bisexual myself and would love Cayde no matter if he’s straight, bi, or gay. And no, I didn’t “abuse” the block button. I just want to feel safe and protect myself here when someone makes me uncomfortable. And everyone is also welcome to block me when I make them uncomfortable in any way. Make this little hellsite your safeplace and about you, things you love and good people. If you’re not able to sleep at night because of me blocking you hit me up (I’m sure you’ll find a way). OK. Kiss meme with Zavala and Sera number 18! Took me a while to pick a number, was such a difficult choice.

18, “Kisses because I missed you and you really shouldn’t stay away so long.

This took forever and a day to write because of personal life crap and the fact that I seem to be fine with writing Bungie’s characters but writing my friend’s OC’s gives me anxiety. But it’s finally here! And on the same day we got some lovely fanart of Sera from the extremely talented @illiksis!  This isn’t proofread so expect me to come back with copious edits for spelling/tense mistakes. Commander Zavala | OC: Serafina | Zavala/Female Guardian | Awoken telepathy shenanigans | Slight raunchiness | The Jaw Thing

[Don’t be angry with her.] Neptune’s entreaty over their ghost/Guardian bond was gentle, yet emphatic.

[I’m not angry with her. I’ve just been worried,] Zavala replied. [I just didn’t think she’d be away this long. Not after everything she went through.] He watched Serafina crossing the plaza towards the stairs that lead to the hangar, off to report to Cayde, no doubt. He gripped the railing beside him when her gaze met his. She stopped briefly, as if to say, “soon,” before continuing on to the hangar.

[You find comfort in the familiar, the routine, the City and her Walls], Neptune continued. [Sera isn’t like that. You’re just very different people, Zavala. You need to respect it.]

Zavala pursed his lips, preventing a derisive ‘hmph’ from escaping.  Sera had just returned from a long stint scouting the wilds. A very long stint. Entirely too long. She had told him she needed to get out of the City for a while, assuring him that she was entirely recovered from her ordeal. It would be good for her, she had insisted. It would help her clear her head. Zavala’s Titan sensibilities couldn’t understand how Sera just could leave for weeks at a time, then blithely stroll back into the City with a sack of engrams and a story to go with each one like it was nothing. He had to admit that perhaps Neptune was right. Worry did skirt very close to anger at times.

He eventually spotted her emerge from the hangar. She paused, her head cocked to the side, regarding him expectantly. She turned slightly to the side, toward the corridor and elavator system that led to her apartment. Zavala didn’t need to Link with her to know what she was thinking: You coming or not?

Zavala stepped away from his vantage point at the Wall and walked towards Sera without any show of urgency, even though his every instinct told him to make a dash across the plaza, gather her into his arms and demand to know where the hell she had been.

Sera started towards the bazaar, but not before shooting him a coquettish smile over her shoulder. Zavala lengthened his stride in response.

“Hunter,” he called after her.

“Commander,” she replied with a smirk, playing along with this mock professionalism.

“You’re long overdue for a mission debrief.”

“A mission debrief?” Sera said, her lips twitching in amusement. “Is that what they’re calling it these days?” She added in an undertone.

They entered the elevator that lead to the Sera’s apartment, maintaining that studied formality. They stood in silence when a laughing fireteam, fresh from the Crucible, joined them in the elevator. They nodded respectfully to their Commander before resuming their excited recap of the day’s combat.

Zavala barely registered the conversation taking place in front of him. He was far too focussed on the Hunter standing to his right, who was close but not so close as to spark gossip. He kept his gaze fixed squarely on the elevator’s numeral display, counting down the floors they had to go to Sera’s place. To privacy. He didn’t dare look at Sera lest his hands stray from their place, safely clasped behind his back.

The fireteam spilled out of he elevator, finally leaving Sera and Zavala alone. She looked up at him with a quizzical expression.

“Are you mad at me?” She asked.

“No.” Zavala replied, rather more curtly than he had intended.

“So why are you doing the jaw thing?”

“What jaw thing?” He asked, the irritation he swore he wasn’t feeling spilling over into his voice.

“You know.” Sera pointed out, following him out of the elavator when it reached their floor. “The way your jaw locks when you’re annoyed about something?”

“I don’t do that,” he protested, punching, rather keying-in the access code to the apartment.

“You’re doing it right now.”

“Come here.” Zavala took Sera by the wrist, pulling her inside the apartment. He turned her toward him and brought his lips to hers, the force of the kiss causing her to rock back on her heels. She wrapped her arms around his neck, while he pressed her up against the now-closed door. All the frustration from weeks of waiting patiently, then those last few minutes of waiting impatiently were poured into that kiss. She opened her mouth to him, groaning appreciatively when she felt his tongue slide beside hers. He worked an armoured thigh between her knees, lifting her up to straddle his leg.

Sera broke the kiss and laughed breathlessly, “Someone’s running hot and cold today.”

“I missed you.” He mumbled against her lips before planting kisses along her jaw, working his way up to her earlobe, gently biting and sucking.

“That’s not it,” Sera said, gamely trying to get to the bottom of his annoyance while her body responded by grinding wantonly against his thigh.  “Talk to me.”

“You were gone for a month!” Zavala pointed out in between feverish kisses to the soft skin of her throat.

Sera pulled back, frowning down at him. “It was three weeks.”

“Best part of a month.” Zavala shrugged.

“Zavala…” Sera began, feeling slightly ridiculous commencing this argument while panting and flushed, with her partner’s leg wedged under her crotch. “I’m a hunter. We scout. It’s what we do. You need to be okay with that. I promised I’d check in with Cayde regularly.”

“I know.”

“And did I?”

“Yes,” he replies in a defeated mumble, burying his face in her neck. He relaxed against her, opening his thoughts to her. She accepted the invitation to Link and was immediately met with a cascade of worry, irritation, loneliness. She saw images of distracted days and sleepless nights. She sighed and caressed his cheek.

I’m all right, Zavala, she assured him through the Link. You worry too much.

Maybe you don’t worry enough, he kissed her again, more gently this time. After everything that happened to you, with the War and Jackal…

This is something I have to do, it’s important. She began to share her own anxieties with him, her fear that she wouldn’t able to face the wilds again after her brush with death, that the old mental anguishes would resurface.

No one doubts your bravery, you’ve got nothing to prove.

Sera smiled softly against his lips, sensing his pride in her through the Link.

I had to prove it to myself, love. And I did.  

“Besides,” she spoke out loud again and pulled back to gaze into eyes. “Did it ever occur to you that part of the appeal of ranging outside the City is knowing that I have you to come home to?”

Zavala laughed softly, resting his forehead against hers.

“They do say absence makes the heart grow fonder.” He kissed her once again, sending waves of apology through the Link as he did so. “I can adjust to your absences, I suppose. I’m a stubborn old Titan but I can learn.”

“Thank you.” Sera framed his face with her hands. “So. Commander. About this debriefing.”

“Ah yes. We have to follow procedure.”

“Is wine allowed at debriefs?”

Zavala paused to think. “The regulations are strangely silent on the matter.”

“Does it have to be in your office or…” She grinned wickedly. “Or can we have it in the bath?”

“Very well, Hunter.” He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her flush with him. “I’ll allow it.”

Inktober 2017, Day 15, Prompt: “Mysterious”. Ana Amari in disguise as “The Shrike”, helmet and hood.

Dunno why I started putting descriptions of the piece next to the day, but hey, why not right? This one was a speed draw kinda, I guess - only took ten, maybe fifteen minutes. In hindsight I should’ve actually timed it perhaps, heh.

Trying to learn to kind of trust my hand. In doing so I think I have stumbled onto a limitation of my tools - don’t get me wrong, I knew they were limited, I knew there were downsides and bad things about using ballpoint pen, I just didn’t think I’d really get to the point where those downsides were the things stopping me. I think I have now, though, because it doesn’t draw consistent lines, not really, and so things end up looking sketchy. Unless of course I make a thicker line, which I tend to do, but there are downsides.

Tried a little bit of sketchy shading too, kinda - for ten minutes, I like it! Of course, I kind of cheated by going with something I knew I could largely draw well. Things I like more and things I like less about this one could accurately be summed up as “helmet” and “hood” respectively XD

Also, pretty sure I could tag any art of Shrike Ana as “Destiny Fanart, Hunter Pride” and nobody would look twice they’d just go “yeah nice, nice lookin’ hunter out of Destiny there, nice.” (which is not in any way meant as a bad thing. I loves me some Destiny hunters, Cayde-6 rocks. BTW have not played Destiny 2 so I have no idea about anything that happens in it heh)
