I desperately want the next Ace Attorney game to feature Winston Payne's daughter as a prosecutor. The first case is a flashback case to like, a mock trial from when Athena was taking classes based on one of Phoenix's old trials from before his disbarment, and you think that the new Payne is just a one-off tutorial Proscecutor like her family. Then you get to the present day and learn that she has taken a level in badass and is Athena's main rival for the game.

I'm not sure! I kind of write them (or at least the one that's been written so far lol) as being a bit of a mix between a dissociative state and a flashback (flashforward?), where they kind of go completely in their head and aren't really "present"

Kaine connecting with religion but that religion being Catholicism always felt like a wasted opportunity and/or something that still has the potential for a good story? Perfect way to explicitly state Peter's Jewish identity and explore it. Also tbh I think Judaism would be good for Kaine. Yes I'm also Jewish but I swear I'm speaking objectively- it's such a hopeful religion and culture, rooted in struggle and survival in a way that Christianity isn't.

That's a really good insight about survival and Judaism and Kaine, anon. It's like the old joke about every Jewish holiday being "they tried to kill us, we survived, let's eat" but for Kaine it's more like "they tried to kill me, they succeeded, I'm here anyway so now I'm going to order $800 worth of room service." Extremely Jewish of him.

I have complicated feelings about Kaine and Catholicism—though I'm gonna go ahead and say I think comics in general handle Catholicism badly and kind of just treat it like General Christianity or Default Christianity which is I guess what happens when your media empire is founded by Jews.

It's always giving this.

But yeah like honestly I don't think my feelings on Kaine and Catholicism and Kaine and heterosexuality are really that different, where he's aware that these are things you do to Be A Person but doesn't grasp the nuance because he was grown in a vat by the worst man to ever get tenure, so he's trying to connect to something that isn't a good fit for him or that maybe he's not particularly interested in as part of his efforts to be a Real Person and not just Peter Parker's broken clone. Which is really interesting! I don't think that was Yost's intent in Scarlet Spider (2012) when it comes to either Christianity or the Kaine/Annabelle romance, but that's always how it comes off to me on a subtextual level. Kaine is trying to do things the "right way" but he only has a very limited idea of what the right way is, or even that there are other options out there for him. He sees a church, he goes into the church. He sees a girl who is into him, he tries to follow a script where he can't be with her because he's bad news, not because he's not actually interested. (I have a lot of feelings on Kaine's canon romances, such as they are. He's the gay clone.)

And because he's not like Ben and he doesn't have all of Peter's memories, he's sort of awkwardly stumbling around the concept of faith as he sees it in the wider world, without a full understanding of either the nuances of that faith or of his own heritage through Peter. I also feel like even if he did know Peter was Jewish, that might be something he would feel reluctant to embrace unless he was given permission by Peter to share in that with him, because of his complicated feelings on Peter and Ben and his relation to both of them and what he feels he can and can't take away from those connections and what he hasn't earned.

I also do sometimes wonder if Miles Warren was a (lapsed) Catholic and if that's something Kaine picked up through him. That would be something interesting to explore.

mewsually the answer would, fur any normal irken or adjacent pak-haver, be "no." but with two tallest paks, and 3 guys who nefur shut the fuck up, being sacrilegious can be purretty tiring!

they cant sleep too long though, they need food purretty often, even if rest mode slows their metabolism down. and they normally dont sleep Well eifur,,, or nearly often enough. theyre surpurrisingly busy!

when they Do sleep the best though, its mewsually when they pass out furom sheer exhaustion. its a vulnerable time when even their paks may not respawnd to outside stimulation*, so they hate when it happens

*mewsually, red ((and purple, to an extent)) is still "awake" while they sleep, keeping themselves in a cocoon of pak legs. the legs are just fur show though. if anyone Actually tries to bother them, the pak guns are much more efficient

Random Late Night Headcanon: Thanks to Elizabeth having him watch The Little Mermais one too many times, William most likely has almost all of it memorized— Especially Ursula’s parts.

Which means, yes, William 100% used Ursula’s “body language” bit as a way to psyche himself up before giving presentations (internally, of course). Hip swinging to close open desk drawers may or may not have been involved.

Marinette Cheng

… is quite the busybody, jumping at any chance to experiment and make new things. Though his eagerness to create has gotten him recognized for their talents, it also leads to many unfinished (or destructive) products.

Normally you’d find him tinkering away at her latest invention, but as of a recent it seems that her creative spirit has died down. No one knows why.

( And at school, you’d typically find them in the laboratory, but just like her recent willingness to create, his visits have dwindled. )

1. Gifted Kid Burnout, Baby!! (That’s possibly triggered by seeing your mentor get snatched into the shadow realm. Who knows? Marinette sure doesn’t).

2. Methinks that most of the headcanons from my old art-dump still applies here (though I have to double-check to be sure).

3. Mar’s inventions tend to (ironically) end in disaster.. but it’s the ingenuity that counts, right?

4. Yes, the suit design was inspired by Spider-Man.

5. I could spew more about Mar’s character but yknow. Mar tends to be a lone wolf in situations, not that they do it consciously! But it’s more like they’ve gotten used to having to solve problems on their own due to the people (and adults) that are in her life. While this is a great(ish) thing because of her classmates dependency on him, it also leads to Chat Noir feeling very frustrated in the midst of battle when Spots run off to do their own plan without consulting the other hero on it.

6. Mar’s creative soul is the one thing that gets her in trouble most of the time! He learns to not be afraid to step over boundaries, but that unwillingness to back down when they should can be terrible in a lot of situations. (Though, beware because Marinette’s personality may be due to change. I’m still figuring out how I want it to be).

7. Spots’/Red’s backpack (which I now realize is hardly visible) has wings giving Red the ability to fly. Spots’ backpack can also be taken apart and turn into almost any invention they want, having its only disadvantage being that they no longer have a means of transportation. The Fanny pack? I just thought it was funny… plus I think they would store candy and water in there to give to any shaken kids (or to anyone who needs it).

8. Yeah, Marinette wears a compression shirt under their hoodie + Carries around headphones in their bag bc overstimulation. (ADHD/Autism as always).

I’m sorry, the best thing about the live-action Transformer movies is that they call the Cybertronians “non-biologicals”, or “NBs”, pronounced as “enbies”. It is the funniest shit ever and it’s only made better by the fact that they say it with the utmost gravitas and conviction, and can also be read to mean that all Cybertronians are non-binary to humans.
