Freaky Fred giving Reader a haircut

You stared at yourself in the mirror grumbling slightly, "Too long, way too long."

You sighed, your hair was growing out to a length you were uncomfortable with and you knew you had to do something about it

But what could you do? There aren't many hair cutting parlours in a small town like yours, well there is that one place…

The next day you went into town and walked over to the only barbers here, it was a unisex barbers so at least that worked in your favour

You went to sit in one of the barbers chairs as the place was really deserted, besides from you and the… grinning barber

Wow, the grin on him was definitely impressive to say the least… a little uneasy but if he did his job well, you could at least overlook that

"How much would you like to be cut?" Fred sweated, not having scratched his itch in quite a while

"Not much… just this amount." You indicated with your thumb and pointed finger, he nodded putting the apron on you

'Easy Freddy, easy. Even so, it has been a while since we were busy… but they're so pretty. Just make them happy.' He thought constraining himself making sure to not get carried away as he often did

"Finished." Fred pulled the apron off of you causing you to smile at the mirror, your hair exactly how you wanted it

"Thanks, how much do I owe you?" You asked grabbing your wallet before he raised a hand to stop you

"A date, if you wouldn't mind." He raised his eyebrows slyly making you chuckle and roll your eyes a little

"Well, aren't you charming? Sure, why not? Meet me at the theatre this Friday, my treat." You handed him a slip of paper with your number on it before leaving, Fred sighed twirling around seemingly love drunk

My Freaky Fred Headcanons

Fred is Pansexual

His obsession on cutting hair could be from trichotemnomania or he has OCD

He is raised by Muriel's sister Dorothy

As an adult, he was sent to his aunt Muriel by Dorothy to be taken care of from his obsession

He is really fond with animals, mostly dogs and rodents

Since his obsession started happening when he got his pet hamster, he was a teen when it happened

His mother loved him dearly, but she stayed away from him due to his obsession. He even tried to cut her hair off

He likes classical music from 1870s-80s

He met Barbara as a child and dated her as an adult. Unfortunately it came to an end thanks to him cutting all of her hair off

When he replied to Muriel, asking about what brought him here. he said 'holiday.' However, this could be a lie since he was in the barbers home for life but he had a chance of parole, since he is left out because his behaviour calmed down

Everyone is shown to be afraid of him, except for Muriel because she is very loving to him and Eustace because he finds him as a freak

Courage's enemies don't show fear against him either, though still intimidating them with his unsettling smile and they all despise him since Fred doesn't show hate against Courage

Fred is sentimental with children, helping them out does keep him out of his hair obsession

Psycho Analysis: Freaky Fred

(WARNING! This analysis is... NAUGHTY!)

Hello dear reader, this is Fred.

You hear the words that are in his head.

To Courage the dog he is a threat,

because he’s very… naughty.

In Courage the Cowardly Dog, you see,

Fred appeared and definitely

left a mark on you and me

by being very... naughty.

So let's take a look at this creepy man,

and hopefully you'll understand

why this guy has garnered tons of fans

despite him being... naughty.

Motivation/Goals:

Fred’s a man of simple needs.

He wants to cut hair, indeed!

And his efforts would likely succeed

if he weren’t so… naughty.

He has a compulsion, you know.

He sees hair and it’s time to go!

And so he spends the\is episode of the show

being very naughty.

Performance: Paul Schoeffler is the man, you know!

He voiced Le Quack, Katz and Big Toe!

The Cajun Fox, Zalost, the Snowman, oh,

he played characters who were… naughty.

He was quite good at what he had to do,

even playing Dr. Vindaloo!

And he played our boy Fred, it’s true,

with a performance that was… quite naughty.

Final Fate: After shaving Courage’s hair,

the orderlies escort him out of there.

One could argue the ending’s unfair.

Fred was only… a little naughty.

Evilness: Is Fred evil? Who can say?

I certainly don’t see him that way.

Really, at the end of the day,

the worst you can call him is… naughty.

He shaves off hair against people’s will

because it gives him perverted thrills.

He doesn’t maim or harm or kill,

he’s genuinely just naughty.

So I suppose a 1.5/10’s the score.

I can’t really justify much more.

He’s not cruel or deadly to the core,

he’s a weird guy who’s naughty.

Best Quote: The opening lines of his sole appearance of course,

which he delivers with no remorse

as he outlines his action’s course

and explains that he is… NAUGHTY:

“Hello, new friend. My name is Fred.

Final Thoughts & Score: Alright, time to drop the rhyming act so I can actually really talk about Fred. And boy, is he ever interesting to talk about! Courage is really a cavalcade of amazing one-shot antagonists, but Fred is easily one of the best and most memorable.

A huge part of that is probably down to his single appearance being narrated from his point of view. He’s the rare Courage villain that gives us explicit insight to his thought process and why he does what he does, and what he does is… extremely strange and even suggestive. His compulsion is so strange and how he narrates it and refers to his actions really build him up to feel worse and creepier than he actually is. He’s not trying to hurt Courage in any way, he’s just trying to exercise his bizarre fetish like a G-rated Yoshikage Kira. There's a lot of ways you could read into this compulsion, but t really does make him stand out as a character due to how unique it is and how it's implemented into the story.

I think what also helps is Schoeffler giving one of his best performances on the show. Like yes, Katz and Le Quack are great, and Vindaloo is a funny meme man, but Fred is just a truly iconic character with such a bombastic and sophisticated narration that I really think he’s a contender for the best character the man played. On top of that we have a fantastic design, with his crazy hair and way-too-wide grin; literally every aspect of this guy is perfect.

But at the end of it all, you have to remember that Fred isn’t actually evil, no matter how much he seems to insist he is. At worst, he’s an anti-villain, and even then it’s in name only; the dude is just a freaky weirdo who looks like Betelgeuse and has a strange fetish he can’t help but act out on, and at worst his actions are annoying and inconvenient as opposed to horribly destructive or deadly. Like, oh no, your hair’s gone! It’ll grow back, whatever. He may be Sweeney Todd for kids, but this barber ain’t a demon; he’s just a fucking weirdo. And I love him for it.

A 9.5/10 is the score he gets,

A memorable antagonist, one of the best.

His narration will never leave your head,

and isn’t that just…

NAUGHTY?

You know the weird thing about this character is?

Why doesn't Fred shave his own hair?

I wish he wasn't a one off character.

I imagine Fred's house body being similar to the Bob's Burger's house.

I would also draw Freaky Fred as a villain in Bobobobo as a hair hunter wanting to shave hair and not caring about the money but wants the thrill of cutting random people's hair.

My guess is that Bobobobo would trick Fred into shaving his own hair which would be his weakness.

Maybe making Fred's hair clipper be alive and talk to him like a lover while making the episode super weird.

Caretakers of Anxiety AU - This AU only involves Barry and The Revenge Six. When Barry gets kidnapped by the villains as a small kitten and taken to their home, however, instead of killing him, they began raising the baby with little help from Freaky Fred and the Banana Dealer

Frostbite Family AU - This AU is about Barry and Team Frostbite. Before Nathan and Teresa died, they had to send Barry who was a baby over to the snowy lands to which Team Frostbite found him. Since they realise that his parents died, they took him in to their place and raise him

Bloodlust Curse AU - This AU focuses on the episode "King Ramses' Curse". It is said that anyone who comes across his slab or himself would face the same plagues but Ramses gained the fourth plague which is his victims being slaughtered to death by thousands of bloodlusted bats

Eternal Night Curse AU - This AU follows a curse of eternal night being said by cat like creatures known as "Dream Cats" that night time will be stay forever in Nowhere. However it is said that if it happens, it will end all life really quickly due to the cold weather and lack of food. This also takes on the OC Crescent who after being free, was desperate to find someone who can play with her little games

Barbers Asylum AU - This AU focuses on Freaky Fred. Since Fred's mother(also the sister of Muriel) couldn't take her son's obsession of shaving hair, she had no choice but to send him to an mental asylum for life. Though the person he is fond who is Muriel, she pays visits to him whenever she is out

Weirdcore/Dreamcore AU - This AU follows the characters in a distorted version of their universe with their morbid appearances based of what they are. Ex: Computer is a computer head. Kitty is a cat plush made of cotton and wool and her mouse toy becomes a real mouse. Bunny is also a bunny plush made out of cotton and wool. Courage is a dog puppet, has stitch marks over him and buttons sewn into his eyes

Gorecore AU - This AU follows the characters in a horror and gory take on their universe, with their appearances being gory. Ex: Courage's eyes and limbs went missing, Katz has spider bites and wounds all over his body and Cajun Fox has burn marks from boiling water or oil, his eyes were sore from sunlight and his glasses are broken

Bad Ending AU - This is a What If... AU which the protagonists didn't get their happy endings. Ex: Courage and Muriel get killed by their enemies in Ball Of Revenge, Bunny and Kitty didn't reunite together due to Bunny meeting her fate at the hands of Mad Dog in The Mask and everyone died in the submarine explosion except for Katz in Katz Under The Sea

I kind of want to make a infected realtor from my Freaky Fred Idea that just shaves beings for fun.

Like the house character was already crazy like they have a parasite fungmammal but just has a blank fungmammal.

Like the blank ones are just there to help the infected realtor to make the props they need and just there to watch the craziness happen.

Like make this infected realtor like the Jack the ripper but for beings with hair and doesn't eat or kill people but eats the hair of the victims.

Might make this infected realtor female with the codename of Shelia the Shaver and is told by the Uncanny Valley residents to stay away but this infected realtor tries lure people with sweets or a homecooked meal then slowly gets the victims comfortable to shave them.

Her name is Haarkapper Noho (Afrikaans for Barbershop and Hawaiian for Dwelling)

Her business cards have mini hair clippers with hearts around them.

Her business card number has 2547 which is Clip in telephone numbers.

The fungmammal is hair clipper bee named Buzzabee.

(Buzzabee acts female but is mushroom gendered.)

This fungmammal is a blank.

When you enter her house you will faintly hear a barbershop quartet song that will describe the person or beings fate while also telling a story on how you got there.

When you hear it this will make the buyer feel comfortable and rest in the barber shop chair for her to shave you bald then she will put a fake wig on you or a hat then send you out which will become your new hair.

She will then eat the hair either by normal Realtor means by the floor or the infected way by the lure body consuming the hair.

This will heal her while also is tasty to her and gives the house some home insulation.

Buzzabee is not into hair but would rather have real food.

She will also hum a song while looking for new clients or buyers when she hunts for them.

Her favorite ones are people or beings with unique hairstyles and she will compliment you on your hair then try to lure you to her house.

She does this to everyone and not just humans.

She wants to one day shave the motherball and eat it's hair thinking since it's made up of different hair types it might be the tasty holy grail to her to consume.

If you asked her to shave her own hair she would gladly do it but only a little bit of her corn husk like hair then she will eat it in front of you while staring at you.

Haarkapper Noho is a pollinator house with a chimney and buzzabee likes to fly inside the house body which if this was a non infected realtor would freak out then try to get rid of the bee.
