The resonating depth within his voice reached out and caressed you for a moment. For that split second there was warmth, excitement. And then terror.
Your gaze instinctively fell upon the intricate web of veins tracing an unmissable pattern across his skin. You weren’t listening to the words leaving his mouth, all you remember is him on his knees last night, spread open on his bed as he pleasured himself with his own fingers to your decree.
“Mhmm, so good. Now stick in another one.” He moved it around his tightness, then did as he was told.
“Just like that,” he whimpered at your praise. “Good boy. Does it feel good? Has anyone ever touched you there? I bet you have plenty of times, haven’t you? Cumming hands free with your own fingers in your asshole. Such a naughty boy.”
He wanted to “try something new.” He said he’d pay you double if you played along well. It wasn’t hard to say yes to him, you would have probably done anything he asked of you, money or not. Seeing him in such a vulnerable position, fucking his fingers in and out of himself was enough payment for you. His stutters had been godly as he shoved his face down into the bed, reaching further into his own bliss.
Now, the irony became clear as day: his intention to grant you a sense of control only fueled the impending destruction he had planned for you. It dawned upon you that this twisted game was nothing but a source of perverse pleasure for him, unwaveringly. You felt it punch you in the chest.
You would be damned if you were going to fall to your knees in the middle of your own capstone show. It wasn’t even that, though, the possible embarrassment of collapsing and then having to make up a reason why. It wasn’t even him encumbering such a momentous occasion in your career, in life. It was that you’d shown this man everything you had and he took it in his weighty fucking hands and crushed it. He took advantage of you. He knew every one of your catches, he knew how to mold you.
He knew how to undo you, too.
Had he been recording your encounters? Did he know where you lived? What car you drove? Sarah lived right down the fucking hall.
Sarah.
You were so full with shame it felt like you were going to puke it up. It felt like it was moving up your throat, blocking your airways and tightening its hands around your throat.
He found you. He was Sarah’s father. He was your fathers apparent best friend. He was your dirty secret. He was your stalker, prowling for god knows how long in the shadows.
“Joel here reached out to me a couple months ago, askin’ how the family was. It’d been ten or so years since we’d seen each other last, right?” Joel nodded his head at your dad. Much quieter and reserved in real life, you guessed. Asshole.
“I’m glad you reached out, it’s been good getting to know you again, old man. Just like the ol’ days. 10 years is too long.”
10 years… You’d met him before? You couldn’t remember when exactly. How could you not remember him? No, you were a child ten years ago- this wasn’t your responsibility nor was it your fault. He’s met you before. He remembered. You didn’t.
-
In all actuality, he did remember the day he met you. You were 15 years old, a shell of a person. You weren’t happy, running around with your friends that summer like he thought all 15 year olds ought to be. He watched a much younger Sarah running around the front yard in the sprinklers, screeching and throwing her hands up in great fervor that summer. You spent most of your time indoors, painting out of long-gone watercolors.
Joel was there helping your dad build the shop that summer. To a teenager so stuck inside of herself, he was probably just passing through. A quick, fleeting memory.
Most nights he would stay for dinner, Sarah was at her mom’s for the summer, so he had no one to go home to anyways. He sat across from you, his attention perched upon your father, mostly talking about whether they should get this lift or that. What type of metal was best for that kind of support. Joel always pushed his peas to the side, hoping no one would notice.
In those rare moments when you did grant him your full attention, your eyes met his with an imploring intensity, silently begging for understanding, a touch of heartfelt empathy. He would pass you when he came inside to go to the bathroom and his steps would falter. Should I ask her if she needs me?
One time your parents were in the kitchen and he thought he’d give you something to laugh about. Mainly to just see if he could make you smile. See if you could laugh.
“Hey…” he broke the silence, broke you out of whatever trance you’d been in. Your brown eyes found his.
“I’ve gotta question for you, darlin’,”
“Okay,” you had hesitated.
“Tell me, a horse walks into a bar- now what does the bartender say?” He paused, waiting for a response, his half-smile sneaking up the edges of his lips.
Silence, waiting.
“… why the long face?" He let out.
And then your laughter erupted. The awkwardness was far more funny than the joke itself.
“I’m sorry but that was the dumbest joke I’ve ever heard, Miller.”
“I’m glad you liked it,” he grinned.
He knew your dad could be a cruel man, but he’s always hoped after college he would grow out of it. Especially once he married and had a kid, then two. They didn’t keep in close contact after college, but maybe he should have been checking more. If anything, to see how you were. To see if your brother knew how to be a man. He knew your mother wasn’t emotionally or really even physically present herself.
He never once had any sexual or unruly thought about you then. But he had an overwhelming feeling of wanting to care for you, protect you. The world hadn’t been fair to you.
He built the shop over three months and then was gone.
It wasn’t until the day after Sarah showed him those pictures that it clicked for him. Those eyes had gazed upon him before, asking the same question. He did some more digging and realized who you were, whose daughter you were. Only after touching himself. He couldn’t take those touches back, the thoughts or the fire in his torso. That only added to the guilt, but it wasn’t enough to stop it from turning into something ugly.
-
How long had he been at this?
“Excuse me,” you croaked out, lamentably.
No one heard you over the chatter, over your dads feeble storytelling.
“It was good of you to come today, Miller.”
Sarah must go by her mother’s mai- Miller? The guy who has helped your dad build his shop one summer. He would stay for dinner and always sneak glances your way.
Over the past four years being separated from the environment you were forged in, many secrets had unveiled themselves. Most of them nothing but a fragment attached to something bigger. A thrown beer bottle shattering at your feet, road rage, anger directed towards your mother. A therapist told you it was a coping mechanism, it’s what little you’s brain had to do to survive- forget. And so you did, and were still often a forgetful person.
“I’m glad we’ll be able to get our families together more often, now that we know our girls are best friends,” he smiled, happily.
He has no fucking idea. No idea that his daughter was bent over for Joel last night, spreading herself wide open for him while he whispered how badly he wanted to ‘fuck her into the ground’. Tear her apart by his teeth, his fingers, his tongue.
“And Sarah,” he turned to her, “it’s nice to see you again too, sweetheart. ‘Not the same seeing you grow up on your mom’s Facebook. No wonder this one here is so drawn to you,” he looked in your direction, “‘specially if you’re anything like your father. God he used to make her laugh.”
Communication with your father had been sparse over the past four years. In your childhood bedroom, you would often find solace on the floor, fervently beseeching any divine entity that would listen, imploring for an escape from that house. Once you finally broke free, a newfound sense of liberation washed over you. However, it wasn't an emancipation from the burdens accumulated, but rather a conscious decision to spare yourself from the weight of conversing with him frequently; what that meant to do so and what it brought back up.
The pieces of the puzzle now fit together, as if orchestrated by the stranger who stood before your father, deliberately intertwining these unresolved threads, demanding their resolution. It made sense that these loose ends didn’t fulfill until now; until the stranger standing across from your dad wanted them to.
Joel chuckled and you wanted to punch him his fucking teeth. Everyone was looking at you now, waiting for your joyous relief at the rekindling. But you couldn’t speak, and you were sure the color was flushed from your face.
“It’s a shame Sarah was at her mothers that summer. Coulda started bein’ friends years ago. I would ha-“ Joel started.
“I said, excuse me.”
You’d heard enough.
You tore between Sarah and Joel to get as far away as possible. The look on her face hurt, oh my god it hurt. She was so confused why you had a problem with one of her favorite people, her dad.
Before you could get away from him he reached out and brushed his fingers against your waist. How fucking dare you touch me, you thought. But where his skin had touched yours was rising warmth, goosebumps, TV static- a trigger. Your body answering to his, pitifully, willingly.
You made it to the door before anyone caught you or could stop it. All of those people in that room were there for you. It hurt leaving them, but it would hurt even more to have to bare it all to them.
You headed to the third floor of the art building, saying fuck it to waiting for the elevator. You didn’t want to give anyone the chance to catch you and ask questions. The sharp shutting of each metal door made you jump as you got to the last one, feet creaking the old water-damaged floor. This hidden bathroom had always been a hiding spot on particularly hard days, when critiques tore you down or you simply just couldn’t hold in erupting sadness. This was a new sinking feeling.
Despite the pain that gnawed at your jaw each and every time, you became adept at concealing tears, mastering the art of hiding the hurt as the drops silently rolled down your face. Tears meant weakness, it meant getting torn into deeper in your childhood home. A place you’d never really left.
You heard his footsteps before the door creaked shut. His boots falling heavy beneath him. He came into view and he started to open his mouth.
“I was 15,” you snarled.
“Do you do this often, Joel? Stalk your daughters friends and tell them how much you want your nasty cock in their mouth? Pay them to strip for you and pay them extra to stick their fingers in their pussy so you can get off? How many? How many fucking girls have you done this to Joel?”
Rage. You didn’t like to let out it of where it spent most of its time, walking back and forth across your chest, heavy, always present just beneath the skin. The one thing you had inherited from your dad. It was painful to keep it in, hose it down and stop it from simmering. It was easy to let it loose. It felt like unfurling.
He looked like a wounded puppy, brown eyes turned downward beneath drooping eyebrows. Why wasn’t he angry? You knew how to ‘deal’ with anger. It was easier to scream back and fight than it was to sit and be screamed at.
“Should I ask Sarah?” You threw the words in his face.
“Shh, shh. Lower your fuckin’ voice,” he growled. His entire demeanor shifting.
There it was.
He stepped towards you, towering above as he grabbed your shoulder losing himself for a moment, throwing you against the concrete wall behind you. You winced as your shoulder blades hit the cold. “One more loud word out of your pretty mouth and I will break you.”
One hand against the wall above your head, the other held out against the wall beside you, keeping you in place. He leaned down, smelling your hair, inhaling deeply. He kissed you on your forehead- all attempts at disarming you.
You thought about running again. Telling your dad how much of a perv his best friend was, simply to watch him release his anger. You knew how hard he hit. It was Joel’s turn.
“Why me?” You fawned.
He looked down into your eyes, moving his face close enough to yours to feel his warm breath against your cheeks. He was completely intoxicating. He smelled faintly of cigarettes, of booze. Lust. You could get lost beneath him. It wasn’t like you practically hadn’t across a computer screen, already.
“It was your eyes, Birdie.”
“My eyes?” You threw back at him. Looking into his eyes made it increasingly harder to think of anything other than your past encounters. His moans resurfacing, caressing the hardening of your nipples.
“What the fuck are you talking about you fucking psycho?” You attempted a shove, using your body weight to try and flee. You didn’t want to give into him. You needed to get away from him.
He didn’t move an inch. But you did invite more fury. His hand left the wall above you and moved down to your throat, then your chin. He moved it up towards him, so your eyes had nowhere to look but into his. His grip released some, but you were sure he’d leave bruises on your cheeks.
“Let me explain, okay? It’s not what you’re thinkin’. I’m not a freak. I saw that picture of you and I just wanted to help you, hold you, baby. This got out of hand and it wasn’t what I meant it to be. I didn’t know I was gonna need you like this. Just sit down and let me talk.”
The husky ‘baby’ hung in the air. It hung between your thighs, too. Why are you always drawn the bad, vile, disgusting things?
“Listen to you quantify how much you wanted to fuck 15 year old me? How it never left so you stuck around and waited for the ‘right’ moment? The one where you might not get arrested if you get caught? How you wanted to stick your cock inside your best friends daughter?”
“If you don’t shut your fuckin’ mouth,” he warned for the last time, spit hitting your lips. You licked it away, instinctively, and his cock twitched beneath his zipper.
“What? What exactly are you gonna do?”
You invited, drawing your hands up his chest.
“How ‘bout I show you, you fucking brat. You can’t hide from me. I see you, I can see through you. I saw you the very first time our eyes met and I see you now, wigglin’ beneath my touch. You need me sweet’heart, stop denyin’ it. I know you remember how I made you feel without me even touchin you.”
You nodded in disbelief at how disarming his words were.
“So let me touch you.” It wasn’t a question, as much as a demand. He moved his hands to your shoulder and turned you around, pulling up your dress from your front. He stopped midway, slowly releasing your breasts from where they sat in the part of the dress that snugly embraced you. One dropping, and then another. The clothing slid against your hardening buds. You could hear your breathing quickening.
As soon as your clothing thumped to the ground he returned to your skin, cupping your breasts. His hands completely engulfed them and for a moment it felt like he’d done it a million times. You fit so well against him. You were warm, buzzing for him.
He ‘hmmm’ed praises at your back as he pressed himself against you, moving you further into his hands, pushing you both deeper into the concrete wall. He was hard, fully erect against your back. You could feel him against your panties, so long his tip was hitting your lower back. He was big enough that his whole body had a point of contact with yours, enveloping you.
“Your effort not to melt under me is truly admirable.” He snarked, leaned in close, his warm breath tickling your earlobe as his tongue traced a path along the contours of your ear, sending shivers down your neck. He licked them, too. More appearing at the scratch of his beard against your neck.
Then, the warmth of his face was gone and you heard his knees crack as he bent down, reaching in front of you to move your ass towards his face, bending you ever so slightly to his will. Your underwear was delicately covering your cunt and he realized he’d never wanted anything more. He reached and spread your cheeks open.
“Oh so fuckin’ pretty sweet girl. Look at that,” he traced his thumb down the back of your cunt in awe, pushing the fabric deeper into the slick already coating them. You groaned at the relief of his fingers so close to the entrance of your holes.
“Nuh uh uh,” he tutted as you absentmindedly started to squirm beneath his wandering hands. He dug his thumbs into your ass, spreading you open once again. The warm pad of his fingertips turned wet, licking lines up and down your slit, panties pulled to the side. His face was fully between your legs, his nose teasing against your perineum. It wandered to your tense rim, and the flat warmth of his tongue was gone.
He spit.
“You’re the dirtiest girl I’ve ever seen, you know that? Letting me stick my tongue and nose on your pretty little asshole. Want me to fuck you here baby girl?” He circled it, pushing his spit in with the tip of his pointer finger. You whimpered.
“Hmm, I hear you. We’ll save that for next time. It wouldn’t be fair of me not to work you open first.” Breathless, “please Joel” falling from your lips.
“Oh fuck. Say it again. I’ve been waitin’ for my name to pass your pretty lips.”
“Joel, please.” You begged. At this point you didn’t know what exactly you were begging for, besides a release. A release from the situation at hand but more so a release from the pressure he’s causing in your abdomen… in your cunt.
He smirked against you, pointing his tongue into your hole, circling and lapping at you. The noise you made against his tongue as it entered you was absolutely vulgar.
“Could taste these sweet juices for the rest of my fuckin’ life.” He was on his knees now.
He was coaxing sounds out of the base of your throat that you’d never heard before, directing you to stand on your tippy toes, palms against the wall so he could fuck his tongue deeper into you.
You wanted to take him whole, right there. Feel the stretch as he sheathed himself fully into you, claiming you. You wanted the pain.
“Joel, I-“ God he felt so fucking euphoric, mustache tickling your clit as he worked his way up and down your pussy.
“Tell me baby, use your words,” he murmured into you.
“Take me, right now, please. Can’t wait Joel, I’ve been waiting so long.” God you sounded pathetic.
Two of his fingered entered you, fully. You gasped at the fullness and lack of warning.
“You wanna take my cock? You’re so tight you can barely handle two of my fingers. So fuckin’ impatient, hmm?” He curled them upwards and you felt the release.
“Let it happen. Stop fightin’ it and let it out baby. I’ll catch you.”
You went to church a few times growing up. You always admired the fervor and devotion the congregation would sing to the sky, lift their arms and release themselves. That is how you wanted to give yourself to Joel, to sing for him, exalt him with praise and surrender yourself completely.
You wanted him to release you from all of your sins.
“I can take it. Please Joel. Please.”
He rose from the ground, pulling his fingers out of you and suddenly the room had quieted from the sound of your desire, now covering and dripping down his wrist, his chin.
“Then take it.” He tapped your cunt with his throbbing tip, moving his cock around to pick up your juices.
He wrapped his arm around you, covering your mouth, letting you drop your head on his bicep, face towards the roof as he made himself one with you.
Then, you let yourself go and he ripped you open. And you laughed and laughed, through the pleasure and the undoing. The fullness of him was enough to turn you slack in his arms. Screaming moans against his hand, until all of your devotion turned violent.

Allah calls Himself Al-Jabbaar— The Compeller, The Restorer— on one occasion in the Quran. He is the One who compels all things according to His will. Al-Jabbaar is the Highest One, who irresistibly restores, repairs, and completes all of creation!
The Compeller, The Restorer, The Greatest

Jabbaar comes from the root jeem-baa-raa which points to three main meanings. The first main meaning is to compel and force someone to do something and the second is to be supreme and high. The third main meaning is to repair, to mend, or to restore something.
This root appears ten times in the Quran in one derived form. Examples of this form is jabbaaran (“a tyrant”), bijabbaarin (“ the one to compel”) and jabbaareena (“ of tyrannical strength”).
Linguistically, jabbaar has the structure of intensification. Jaabir points to one who compels or restores and jabeerah is used for a splint, to help broken bones. Al-Jabbaar is the ultimate compeller; whatever He wills happens. He is the highest and the One who fixes the situation for His creation.
Al-Jabbaar Himself says: He is Allah , other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Perfection, the Bestower of Faith, the Overseer, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller. [Quran, 59:23]
Three types of jabr
Jabbaar occurs ten times in the Quran, but is only used once for Allah ‘azza wa jall. Nine times jabbaar refers to the people oppressing others and only Allah is al-Jabbaar in a positive sense. His might is in the sense of power; Al-Jabbaar is the One who compels the tyrants, overwhelming them with His power and might.
His might is in the sense of mercy; Al-Jabbaar mends the broken-hearted by restoring peace of mind as well as reward if they are patient. And the heart of Musa’s mother became empty [of all else]. She was about to disclose [the matter concerning] him had We not bound fast her heart that she would be of the believers. [Quran, 28:10] Allah Al-Jabbaar mended her heart and so is He comforting to the oppressed and firm with the unjust; both Fir’awn and the mother of Musa ‘alayhi sallam will deal with Al-Jabbaar. He is the One Who solaces and comforts the oppressed and punishes the tyrants and arrogant.
His might is also in the sense of greatness; Al-Jabbaar is far above His creation, yet close to them, hearing and seeing all they say, do, and even think.
How can you live by this name?
1. Reflect on how Al-Jabbaar compels you.
Al-Jabbaar compels you by creating you in the way He wills you to be. You are compelled to accept your form and shape as well as the beating of your heart, your blood circulation, firing nerve cells, the way your brain works, falling asleep, and waking up. These are all involuntary actions– they are compelled by Allah’s power. Every day, take time to reflect on the way you are made and let it increase you in emaan in the perfect power and might of Al-Jabbaar, Who compels the creation to be as He wishes.
2. Don’t be jabbaar.
The attribute of jabr does not befit people; you are supposed to be an ‘abd (slave) of Al-Jabbaar. Jabbaar is not just tyrant ruler; you can be jabbaar when you harm or hurt other people’s feeling or undermine their authority. Thus does Allah seal over every heart [belonging to] an arrogant tyrant. [Quran, 40:35].
An example is not listening to your parents and hurting them by your words or actions. And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], “uff,” and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. [Quran, 17:23]. So never be arrogant.
3. Mend someone’s heart.
If you have oppressed someone, ask for their forgiveness straight away. If you see people suffering, try to talk to them and show them your care. Mend someone’s heart because Al-Jabbaar will mend yours in times of need.
4. Turn to Al-Jabbaar to fix your faults.
Do you feel like you don’t have enough times or skills to accomplish your goals? Never lower your standards; rather raise your faith in Al-Jabbaar to fix your deficiencies, put your life in order, and transform your sins into good deeds! Seek shelter in Him from all your distresses; take this as a general rule in your life.
5. Ask Al-Jabbaar.
The Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam used to say between two prostrations in prayer: O Allah, forgive me, have mercy upon me, guide me, support me, protect me, provide for me and elevate me [Abu Dawood, Ibn Majah, At-Tirmidhee] Wajburnee refers to “reform or fix” my affairs.
The Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam also said in prostration and bowing: How perfect He is, The Possessor of total power (jabaroot), sovereignty, magnificence and grandeur [Abu Dawood] Memorize these supplications so you can benefit from them.
O Allah, Al-Jabbaar, we know that You are the One who compels and restores and who is Highest. Mend our hearts when we are distressed and protect us from oppression and from being oppressive to others. Make us obey Your commands willingly, and enable us to reach all our goals which are pleasing to You, ameen!

Daily Hadith
Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam ‘ala Rasulillah Narrated Abu Dhar (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):
The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) asked me at sunset, “Do you know where the sun goes (at the time of sunset)?” I replied, “Allah and His Apostle know better.” He said, “It goes (i.e. travels) till it prostrates itself underneath the Throne and takes the permission to rise again, and it is permitted. A time will come when it will be about to prostrate itself but its prostration will not be accepted, and it will ask permission to go on its course but it will not be permitted, and it will be ordered to return from where it has come and so it will rise in the west. And that is the interpretation of the Statement of Allah: "And the sun runs its fixed course For a term (decreed). That is The Decree of (Allah) The Exalted in Might, The All-Knowing.” (36.38)

Why do we make du’a?
The du’a is one of the believer’s best tool for changing what Allah (swt) has already decreed.
To accept one’s fate and submit to what Allah (swt) has ordained (both the good and the bad) has tremendous merit. But still, this is not to be used as a reason to excuse offering daily supplication as we learn from the hadith of Prophet Muhammad ( صلى الله عليه وسلم) the power du’a can have:
“O Allah guide me among those You have guided, pardon me among those You have pardoned, befriend me among those You have befriended, bless me in what You have granted, and save me from the evil that You decreed. Indeed You decree, and none can pass decree, and none can pass decree upon you, indeed he is not humiliated whom You have befriended, blessed are You our Lord and Exalted.”
It is through supplications that we’re able to avoid any hardship or evil, and for us ease in any difficult task that Allah (swt) has currently written for us. It is because we offer supplication and good deeds that our destination can be altered.
The du’a is one the simplest acts a believer can make to communicate and establish a connection with his or her creator. In the Quran, Surah Baqarah verse 186, Allah (swt) says, “When my servants ask you about me, (tell them), I am really close to them, I listen to the prayer of each supplicant when he invokes me”.

(JTA) — A catalog of calamities is central to the liturgy of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, the Jewish High Holidays that begin later this week.
We Jews are asked to imagine ourselves perched on the precipice of life and death. Nothing frames it as starkly as Unetaneh Tokef, the roll call of ruin enumerating various disasters that might befall us in the coming year.
With its repetition of “Who by …” fill-in-the-blank awfulness — strangling, stoning, famine and plague — the medieval poem is the stuff of myth and legend, an opportunity to ponder fate and frailty. But for the Jews of Ukraine, the majority of whom remain in the country despite the ongoing conflict, the text is heart-wrenchingly real.
When we Jews pray, we face east, toward Jerusalem. But as the grandson of a Ukrainian Jew, east always conjures “the old country” — that’s where my soul calls home and where I’ve often directed my most fervent prayers. This year, Unetaneh Tokef is a compass for my heart.
I’m sure “who by water” resonates for Lyubov Irzhanskaya. When the Kakhovka dam burst in June, the Dnipro River surged into her second-floor apartment. The 76-year-old retired teacher had hours to decide where to flee.
“Who by fire” must send a chill through Lyudmila Dobroyer, 87 — a Holocaust survivor and the primary caregiver for her son Yuriy, who has developmental disabilities. During attacks on Odesa this summer, her building was badly damaged.
And then there are more workaday terrors, fears that keep me up at night half a world away in my safe Ohio bed. What if I lost my job and couldn’t provide for my family? What if it happened amidst power cuts and sub-zero cold?
“Who shall become impoverished” — ask Evgeniy Moshkovitch, 40, a forklift operator who fled Kherson with his family two months into the crisis. With employers skeptical of the displaced, he’s unable to find a job and relies on Jewish community assistance to pay the bills.
Grim as it is, Unetaneh Tokef isn’t about blindly submitting to fate. Instead, it gives us the keys to our own salvation — ”repentance, prayer, and charity,” it exhorts, “can lessen the severity of the decree.”
Our own hands can rescue us, and post-Soviet Jews, who’ve doggedly rekindled identity and community after the Holocaust and communism, could teach a master class. As a longtime staffer at the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, or JDC, the humanitarian organization that for decades has aided needy Jews and built Jewish life across the former Soviet Union, I’ve seen it firsthand.
In Ukraine, I’ve witnessed local Jews volunteering for relief efforts in record numbers and my colleagues delivering over 800 tons of humanitarian aid, home care to the bedridden and Shabbat gatherings during air-raid sirens. We’re also addressing new waves of need: unemployment, educational gaps and trauma — all with an imperative to strengthen lives, even if peace remains elusive.
Hidden in Unetaneh Tokef’s horrors are some best-case scenarios, too: “who shall be exalted,” “who shall reach the fullness of their days.” What if it all goes right, the prayer asks? What if we sustain each other? What if we write our most vulnerable into the High Holidays’ symbolic Book of Life?
We can do that by marshaling our resources, as my organization has done since February 2022 with tens of millions of dollars from our partners — the Jewish Federations of North America, the Claims Conference, International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, individuals, families, corporations and foundations — and by lifting up individual stories so we understand the stakes if we fail to act.
For centuries, Jews have debated the identity of the nameless Unetaneh Tokef writer who gave voice to the cruel uncertainty of human existence and the possibility of redemption even in the darkness.
That anonymity hasn’t blunted the poem’s cold wisdom — life will often disappoint you, but it just might surprise you, too. I’ve learned that by listening to other Jews who could just as easily be lost to history and have just as much to teach.
In western Ukraine earlier this year, I met Liliya Sumka, the last Jew in a small village only accessible by dirt roads. A 54-year-old widow with cerebral palsy, she ekes by on a $52 monthly disability pension.
For her, the difference between “who shall live and who shall die” is sometimes the stack of firewood and food packages delivered by my organization — or finding God in her own still small voice reciting the Shabbat blessings.
“Life?” Liliya chided me with a wry smile. “You can’t make it through that alone.”
May we all remember that, recognizing that we only get to fullness by giving it — showing up with full hearts and a full commitment to aiding those living on a knife’s edge around the clock, not just in the pages of our prayer books.

In the Shattering of Things, Ch. 41: Ascension
Tumblr media
Chapter Summary: Rose ascends to the office of Inquisitor and enjoys some much needed celebrating in the lower bailey of Skyhold, discovering that even a stick in the mud can be made to dance.
Fic Summary: Lady Rose Trevelyan's idle, aristocratic life blinks out in a haze of irrelevance when the breach destroys the Conclave. She may be soft and coddled when she joins the Inquisition, but there's a fierceness inside her she's yet to fully recognize. Armed with only a few relevant skills and the mark that makes her a legend, she is thrust onto a path delivering hope where it’s long been scorched away and finds comfort in the grumpy, handsome stick in the mud charged with her protection and training. As she stumbles her way across southern Thedas, she begins to realize she's tangled at the center of machinations she barely understands, and she's not alone in that. Enter Hawke. (Read Chapter 1 here)
Excerpt:
“I see you know your way around a Starkhaven reel, Your Worship,” Rylen says grandly. I want to smile sheepishly, but I’m the Inquisitor now and only boldness will do. I beam, my eyes jumping to Cullen. “Of course. It’s an exhilarating dance,” I answer, but I’m telling Cullen. Perhaps he’ll ask me.
“Might I have the honor then?” Rylen asks and I’m startled and overjoyed not to have to bungle my way through soliciting a partner myself, though mildly disappointed that Cullen couldn’t work up any nerve to oblige me. “I’d be delighted,” I say with a grin and he offers me his hand as we stride to the trodden field of dancers. Rylen is a commanding lead and he knows his steps well, which surprises me because I didn’t expect any former templars to know how to dance. After a few minutes of breathless movement he speaks over my shoulder. “I owe you my thanks, Inquisitor,” he says in his delightful lilt. “Oh?” “Your push to improve relations between the templars and mages has worked out nicely for me.” “Well, you can’t leave it at that Ser Rylen,” I reply, glancing across his shoulder at Cullen who shifts by the wall and watches us with a bit of a hopeless look on his face. “I’ve been courting a lovely lass. A mage,” he says. “And you made it possible. There’s no limit to my gratitude.” “Is it Lara?” I ask, leaning back to smile at him knowingly. “Aye,” he says with a rapturous grin. “The goddess herself.” I see him smiling at her where she stands on the sideline regarding him, fantastically in love. “Well I won’t keep you for long then. Surely you’d prefer to dance with her.” “It’s just that–” he pauses and sighs, turning us away from where he’d been standing before. “I need a favor.” “Already asking the Inquisitor for favors, are you?” I reply playfully. “Could you– perhaps engage the Commander in a dance?” “You do realize you’re asking me to move mountains, Ser Rylen.” “You’re his superior– he couldn’t refuse,” he says teasingly. “Dancing with me out of duty? Sounds splendid,” I grouse. “Oh, I think he’d be more amenable than you think,” he says with a wink. I can feel the blood surge to my cheeks and my eyes wander back to Cullen who pretends to be looking at the crowd beyond us. “I’d be surprised if he dances at all.” “That may be. But you could teach him.” “Help me understand why you need Cullen to dance. If you want to dance with Lara, just dance. As Inquisitor, I decree it,” I press. “It would make my life a mite easier,” he replies. “And don’t worry, I’ll make sure he doesn’t slither his way out of it.” “I’ll need a little more help than that,” I tell him. “Perhaps you should suggest it. A little peer pressure.” “Done,” he says, beaming.

🌷Duaa’s to fight anxiety and depression🌷
by Asma bint Shameem
We all go through difficult times one time or another.
Here are some duaas proven from the authentic sources that we can read at such times.
1. The Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam said:
There is no-one who is afflicted by distress and grief, and says:
‎اللهم إني عبدك ابن عبدك ابن أمَتك ، ناصيتي بيدك ، ماضٍ فيَّ حكمك عدل فيَّ قضاؤك ، أسألك بكل اسم هو لك سميت به نفسك أو علمته أحداً من خلقك أو أنزلته في كتابك أو استأثرت به في علم الغيب عندك أن تجعل القرآن العظيم ربيع قلبي ونور صدري وجلاء حزني وذهاب همي وغمي
‘Allaahumma inni ‘abduka ibn ‘abdika ibn amatika naasyati bi yadika, maadin fiyya hukmuka, ‘adlun fiyya qadaa’uka.
As’aluka bi kulli ismin huwa laka sammayta bihi nafsaka aw anzaltahu fi kitaabika aw ‘allamtahu ahadan min khalqika awista’tharta bihi fi ‘ilm il-ghaybi ‘indaka an taj’al al-Qur’aana al-adheema rabee’a qalbi wa noora sadri wa jalaa’a huzni wa dhihaaba hammi
“O Allaah, I am Your slave, son of Your slave, son of Your maidservant; my forelock is in Your hand, Your command over me is forever executed and Your decree over me is just. I ask You by every name belonging to You which You have named Yourself with, or revealed in Your Book, or You taught to any of Your creation, or You have preserved in the knowledge of the Unseen with You, that You make the Qur’aan the life of my heart and the light of my breast, and a departure for my sorrow and a release for my anxiety),’
but Allaah will take away his distress and grief, and replace it with joy.”
He was asked: “O Messenger of Allaah, should we learn this?” He said: “Of course; everyone who hears it should learn it.” ( Ahmad- saheeh by al-Albaani)
2) Umm Salama said that the Prophet
Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam said:
“There is no Muslim who is afflicted with a calamity and says that which Allaah has enjoined,
Innaa lillaahi wa inna ilayhi raaji’oon. Allaahumma ajurni fi museebati wa akhlif li khayran minha
“Verily to Allaah we belong and unto Him is our return. O Allaah, reward me for my calamity and compensated me with something better than it,
but Allaah will compensate him with something better than it.”(Muslim)
3) Ibn ‘Abbaas said that the Messenger of Allaah Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam used to say at times of distress:
‎لا إله إلا الله العظيم الحليم ، لا إله إلا الله رب العرش العظيم ، لا إله إلا الله رب السموات ورب الأرض ورب العرش الكريم
“Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah al-‘Azeem al-Haleem, laa ilaaha ill-Allaah Rabb al-‘Arsh al-‘azeem, la ilaaha ill-Allaah Rabb ul-samawaati wa Rabb ul-ard wa Rabb ul-‘Arsh il-kareem
“There is no god but Allaah, the All-Powerful, the Forbearing; there is no god but Allaah, Lord of the mighty Throne; there is no god but Allaah, Lord of heaven, Lord of earth, and Lord of the noble Throne.”
(al-Bukhaari, Muslim)
4)The Prophet Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam said:
“Shall I not tell you of something that, if any worldly calamity or disaster befalls any man among you and he says these words, he will be relieved of it. (It is) the du’aa’ of Dhu’l-Noon:
‎لا إله إلا أنت سبحانك إني كنت من الظالمين
“Laa ilaaha illa anta subhaanaka inni kuntu min al-zaalimeen
“None has the right to be worshipped but You (O Allaah), Glorified (and Exalted) be You [above all that (evil) they associate with You]! Truly, I have been of the wrongdoers).”
And in another narration he said:
“No Muslim man says this duaa’ concerning anything but Allaah will answer his prayer.” (at-Tirmidhi -Saheeh by al-Albaani)
5) The Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam  said:
“The du’aa’ of the person who is in distress is:
‎اللَّهُمَّ رَحْمَتَكَ أَرْجُو فَلا تَكِلْنِي   إِلَى نَفْسِي    طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ وَأَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ لا إِلَهَ إِلا أَنْتَ
‘Allaahumma rahmataka arjoo fa laa takilni ilaa nafsi tarfat ‘ayn wa aslih li sha’ni kullahu laa ilaaha illa anta
“O Allaah, for Your mercy I hope, so do not leave me in charge of my affairs even for the blink of an eye; rectify all my affairs. There is no god except You”
(Abu Dawood -hasan by al-Albaani)
6) If some matter was troubling him, the Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam) would say:
‎يا حي يا قيوم برحمتك أستغيث
Yaa Hayyu yaa Qayyoom bi rahmatika astagheeth
“O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, by Your mercy I seek Your help”
(at-Tirmidhi - hasan by al-Albaani)
7) The Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam said to Asma’ bint ‘Umays:
“Shall I not teach you some words which you can say at times of distress and hardship?
‘Allaahu Allaahu rabbee laa ushriku bihi shay’an
“Allaah is my Lord, I do not associate anything with Him).’”(Abu Dawood- saheeh by al-Albaani)
8) And the Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam said:
‎اللهم لا سهل إلا ما جعلته سهلا وأنت
‎ تجعل الحزن إذا شئت سهلاً
“O Allaah, nothing is easy but that which You make easy and You can make hardship easy if You will.”
(Ibn Hibbaan - saheeh by al-Albaani)

Tasfir Ibn-Kathir
An-Najm 53:32
Verily, Allah the Exalted has decreed for the Son of Adam his share of Zina and he will certainly earn his share. The Zina of the eye is by looking, the Zina of the tongue is by talking and the heart wishes and lusts, but the sexual organ either substantiates all this or not.''
This Hadith is recorded in the Two Sahihs.
Ibn Jarir recorded that Ibn Mas`ud said,
"The eyes commit Zina by looking, the lips by kissing, the hands by transgressing, the feet by walking, and the sexual organ either materializes all of this or not. When one commits sexual intercourse, he will be someone who committed Zina. Otherwise, it is Al-Lamam.''
Masruq and Ash-Sha`bi also held the same view.
Abdur-Rahman bin Nafi`, who is also known as Ibn Lubabah At-Ta'ifi, said,
"I asked Abu Hurayrah about Allah's statement,
(except the Lamam), and he said,
`It pertains to kissing, winking one's eye, looking and embracing. When the sexual organ meets the sexual organ in intercourse then Ghusl is obligatory, and that is Zina.''
Encouraging Repentance and forbidding Claims of Purity for Oneself
Allah's statement,
verily, your Lord is of vast forgiveness.
asserts that His Mercy encompasses everything, and His forgiveness entails every type of sin, if one repents,
Say:
"O My servants who have transgressed against them- selves! Despair not of the mercy of Allah: verily, Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.'' (39:53)
Allah said,
He knows you well when He created you from the earth,
Allah says,
`He was and still is the All-Knowing Whose knowledge encompasses your affairs, statements and all of the actions that will be committed by you, even when He created your father Adam from the earth and took his offspring from his loin, as small as ants. He then divided them into two groups, a group destined for Paradise and a group to Hellfire…'

Zuhd - Detachment from the World by the late Murabit Al Hajj may Allah have mercy upon his soul
Translated by Shaykh Haroon Hanif
O soul, arise, return and be admonished
and from the suddenness of death protect (yourself)
And forsake all pleasures of the world
especially sleep moments before daybreak
And strive hard in worship of the Exalted One
Beware of taking abundantly from the one of deception
And be grateful for his favours, be grateful
And stand at the door and reflect
Do not let the length of your residence delude you
for you will have to completely travel
Do not be distracted from it by attaining (your) needs or acquiring camels and cows
Nor by the mention of women like the moon
whose necks shine like pearls
Look at the statement of the purest Prophet
‘If you knew’, and reflect over it
Indeed in death for those of reflection
is an admonition that surpasses every admonition
How often we see with the passage of time
its companion hidden in earth
Nor will it inform the one to who it came
And it, if spoken to, has much to tell
And the grave is a meadow - as in the narration -
of Paradise or a pit of the pits (of Hellfire)
So take provision O soul and remember
the question of an all-Powerful Lord who Owns
For the preparation of a young person who strives
benefits him tomorrow at the Gathering
And whoever is seen in this world exultant
will be seen in that (world) confused
So this is the abode of sorrow and filth
and the possessor of intellect in it is the one who is confused by it
The person who is addicted to sleepless nights is successful in it
asking forgiveness of his God before dawn
We ask the possessor of grace and the greatest gifts
for a gentleness with us at all times of decree
May prayers and peace be on the purified one
Mohammad who gained the highest greatness
It was the request of Shaykh Abdul Rahman Ould Murabit al Hajj that this poem be spread as wide as possible for all to benefit
A du a of Imam Abdullah bin Alawi al-Haddad
O Allah rid my heart of: any value for the world, and any place for the creatures that make me incline to disobeying You, or distracts me from obeying You, or comes between me and the realisation of elect Knowledge of You, and true love of You.

WE SEE HIM THROUGH OUR SPIRITUAL EYES
Ephesians 3:20 - "Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us."
Through our spiritual eyes "we see Him" in our battles, challenges, opportunities and destinies -- the Lord moving great on our behalf -- or there will be no lands, spoils, and victories to possess. God wants to demonstrate He is able to do all things exceedingly and abundantly beyond all we ask or think according to His power that works within us. He desires to do great miracles on our behalf and cause us to possess great things for Him.
ADOPTING THE MENTALITY OF JOSHUA AND CALEB
The only way we will be able to gain the victories He has for us, is to have the same view and mentality of Joshua and Caleb of old. This is the perspective that--we can do it because we see God as being a Great God who is moving His Kingdom forward through our Christ calling!
His Greatness is all that matters in the battles at hand. We will need to see His greatness and decree His greatness to continue bearing fruit that remains.
The power of our words enforces the greatness of our God.
Affirmations:
I LIFT UP MY HEAD AND SPIRITUAL EYES TO BEHOLD THE KING OF GLORY --THE LORD STRONG AND MIGHTY--THE LORD MIGHTY IN BATTLE.
I MAGNIFY THE LORD AND EXALT HIS NAME AND HE DELIVERS ME FROM ALL MY FEARS.
I AFFIRM AND MEDITATE ON THE PROMISES OF GOD IN HIS WORD DAY AND NIGHT.

A conversation between Prophet Adam (as) and Allah (swt):
In another good tradition the Holy Prophet is quoted to have said that when the Almighty extracted the progeny of Adam from his loins to take their covenant regarding His absolute authority and the belief in all the Prophets, the first Prophet about whom He took the covenant was Muhammad Ibn 'Abdullah. Then the Almighty Allah revealed to Adam to cast a glance at his progeny. He saw that they were minute particles filling up the whole sky.
"How numerous is my progeny!" exclaimed Adam. "My Lord! You have created them for a great affair. Why did you take a covenant from them?"
"So that they may worship Me; And do not attribute partners to Me. That they may believe in the Prophets and follow them," replied the Lord.
Adam said, "But some of these particles are greater in size. Some of them more luminous. While others are dim or completely dark. What is the reason for this?"
"They are created like this so that I may examine them in every way," replied Allah.
"Can I ask some more questions?" asked Adam.
"Yes, you may."
Adam said, "If You had created them equal, of one mood, one creation, one color, one age and bestowed the same amount of sustenance. Some of them would not have oppressed others. There wouldn't have been jealousy, enmity and any kind of controversy among them."
Allah the Almighty addressed Adam, "You have opened your mouth against the spirit which is most exalted in my eyes. And you have said something about it due to your lack of knowledge. I am the All-knowing Creator. I have created the variety. My Wisdom and My command runs over them. And each of them is subservient to what I have destined. There is no change in My creation. I have created human beings and jinn only that they worship Me. I have created Paradise for those who worship and obey Me and follow My Prophets. But I care less if they don't. I created Hell for the infidels. Those who would disobey Me and deny My Prophets. I do not care for these also. I created you and your progeny not because I had any need for them. I created them in order to test them as to which of them are of the best in character. It is for this reason I created the world and Hereafter, life and death, obedience and disobedience, Paradise and Hell. This is what I intended with predestination and free will and in the light of My knowledge that encompasses all of them. I created them with different hues and colors, different faces, physical features, ages, difference in the quality of their sustenance, and differences in the extent of their obedience and disobedience. Among them are evil and the righteous, blind and seeing, short and tall, beautiful and ugly, intelligent and foolish, rich and poor, obedient and disobedient, sick and healthy. Some of them will be involved in different kinds of discomforts while most of them shall never have any problems. So that when the healthy ones look at the sick they praise Me for being spared. The sick may see the healthy people and pray to Me for cure. Also, that they may remain patient and earn divine rewards for the same, and be raised in degrees. In the same way the rich man would see a destitute and thank Me for the affluence that I have bestowed upon him. On the other hand the less privileged one would see the affluent and supplicate Me. The Believer shall see the infidels and Praise Me that I have guided him and created him for examination in good times and bad, through the trails and tribulations that I shall subject them to, through the bounties that I shall bestow upon them, and through the things that I have prohibited for them. I am Allah the King of Power, it is for Me to cause the things that I have decreed. It is also for Me to cause change in whatever I have destined. I can advance the occurrence of one thing and I can postpone another. I am One that can do anything He desires. No one can dare question My actions. But I shall question my creatures regarding their actions."

O Allaah, guide me among those whom You have guided, pardon me among those whom You have pardoned, turn to me in friendship among those on whom You have turned in friendship, and bless me in what You have bestowed, and save me from the evil of what You have decreed. For verily You decree and none can influence You; and he is not humiliated whom You have befriended, nor is he honoured who is Your enemy. Blessed are You, O Lord, and Exalted. There is no place of safety from You except with You
Ya Allah, We plead steadfastness with You in keeping to Your commands, and firmness of resolution in pursuing the right course. We beg of You gratitude for favour and to be better at serving You. We beg of You a sound heart and a truthful tongue. We beg of You the good of that which only You know and we seek refuge in You from the evil of that which only You know. And we seek Your forgiveness of that iniquity of ours which only You know
Ya Allah, give us sanctuary from Your painful wrath and Your mighty anger!
In the Qur an You called Yourself Ahlu-l-Maghfirah(the Entitled to forgive), Wasi’u-l-Maghfirah(the Vast in Forgiveness), Dhu-l-Maghfirah(Possessor of forgiveness), Ghfiruh-dh-Dhanb(the Forgiver of sin), Qabilu-t-Tawb(the Acceptor of repentance), Khairul-r-Rahimin(the Best of the merciful), Khairul-l-Ghafirin(the Best of forgivers), Dhu-r-Rahmah Wasi’ah(the Possessor of boundless mercy) and Shadidu-l-Adhab(the Severe in punishment). Deliver us through Your mercy from the chastisement of the Fire and the disgrace of shame when the good are set apart from the evil, forms are transformed, terrors terrify, the good-doers are brought near, the evildoers taken far, and every soul is paid in full what it has earned, and they shall not be wronged!
Aamiin.
Ya Allah, we seek intercession from You with You, and we seek sanctuary in You from You! We have come to You craving Your beneficence, desiring Your kindness, seeking water from the deluge of Your graciousness, begging rain from the clouds of Your bounty, requesting Your good pleasure, going straight to Your side, arriving at the watering-place of Your support, seeking exalted good things from Your quarter, reaching for the presence of Your beauty, wanting Your face, knocking at Your door, abasing ourselves before Your mightiness and majesty! So act toward us with the forgiveness and mercy of which You are worthy! Act not toward us with the chastisement and vengeance of which we are worthy!By Thy mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful
Ya Allah, we repair to You by coming forward, and ask from You good support, so bless us, hear our whispered words, grant our supplication, seal not our day with disappointment, slap not our brow by rejecting our requests, and make noble our coming from You and our going back to You! Surely You are not constrained by what we desire, nor incapable of what You are asked! You are powerful over everything, and There is no force and no strength save in You, Ya Allah, the All-high, the All- mighty!
Aamiin.
, Ya Allah, make our hearts trust in what is with You and our concern free for what is Yours, employ us in that in which You employ Your pure friends, drench our hearts with Your obedience when intellects are distracted, and combine within us independence, continence, ease, release, health, plenty, tranquillity, and well being! Make not fail our good deeds through our disobedience that stains them or our private times of worship through the instigations of Your trials! Safeguard our faces from asking from anyone in the world, and drive us far from begging for that which is with the ungodly! Make us not an aid to the wrongdoers, nor their hand and helper in erasing Your Book! Defend us when we know not with a defense through which You protect us! Open toward us the gates of Your repentance, Your mercy, Your clemency, and Your boundless provision! Surely we are of those who beseech You! And complete Your favour toward us all!
Ya Allah, place us among the chosen, the good, join us to the righteous, the pious, the first to reach generous gifts, the swift to come upon good things, the workers of the abiding acts of righteousness, the strivers after elevated degrees! You are powerful over everything and disposed to respond! By Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful!
Aamiin.
, Ya Allah, actualize our expectation from You and You alone, seal our works with good, and place us among Your selected friends, those whom You have set down in the midst of Your Garden, and settled in the abode of Your honour, whose eyes You have gladdened by gazing upon You on the day of meeting You, and whom You have made heirs to the sure stations in Your neighbourhood!
, Ya Allah, appoint for us a hand against him who wrongs us, a tongue against him who disputes with us, and a victory over him who stubbornly resists us! Give us guile against him who schemes against us, power over him who oppresses us, refutation of him who reviles us, and safety from him who threatens us! Grant us success to obey him who points away us straight and follow him who guides us right!
O Allah adorn us with the adornment of the righteous, and clothe us in the ornaments of the godfearing, through spreading justice, restraining rage, quenching the flame of hate, bringing together the people of separation, correcting discord, spreading about good behaviour, covering faults, mildness of temper, lowering the wing, beauty of conduct, gravity of bearing, agreeableness in comportment, precedence in reaching excellence, preferring bounteousness, refraining from condemnation, bestowing bounty on the undeserving, speaking the truth, though it be painful, making little of the good in our words and deeds, though it be much, and making much of the evil in our words and deeds, though it be little! Perfect this for us through lasting obedience, holding fast to the community, and rejecting the people of innovation and those who act in accordance with original opinions!
Aamiin.
, Ya Allah, appoint for us a hand against him who wrongs us, a tongue against him who disputes with us, and a victory over him who stubbornly resists us! Give us guile against him who schemes against us, power over him who oppresses us, refutation of him who reviles us, and safety from him who threatens us! Grant us success to obey him who points away us straight and follow him who guides us right!
Ya Allah, make us leap to You in times of distress, ask from You in needs, and plead to You in misery! Tempt us not to seek help from other than You when we are distressed, to humble ourselves in asking from someone else when we are disadvantaged, or to plead with someone less than You, Ya Khairul-r-Rahimin(the Best of the merciful), when we fear, for then we would deserve Your abandonment, Your withholding, and Your turning away, O Most Merciful of the merciful!
Aamiin.
O Allah, allow us to commence with good; and allow us to conclude with good; and let the outcomes of our affairs reach good. O Allah, we seek your protection from evil commencements and conclusions, and evil beginnings and ends, and internal evils and external. O Allah, do not put between us and You anyone [to be responsible] for our sustenance besides You; and make us the most content of Your creation with You; and the most needy of Your servants for You; and grant us wealth which will not mislead us; and health which will not distract us; and free us from needing those whom You have freed from needing us; and allow our last words to bear witness that there is no one worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad ﷺ is His messenger, may the blessings of Allah and His salutations be upon him; and grant us death while you are pleased with us without any anger; and make us at the place of resurrection among those who will have no fear upon them nor will they be grieving, through Your Mercy, O Most Merciful of those https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/yahya-ibrahim-4winteraid
O Allah, open for us the treasuries of Your mercy, and grant us, O Allah, mercy that will not torture us after that in this world and the hereafter, and grant us with Your wide bounty a lawful and good sustenance, and do not need us and do not impoverish us to anyone but You, and increase our thanks to You, and to You there is poverty and poverty, and through You from those besides You richness and chastity, O Allah, expand us in the world O Allah, we seek refuge in You from turning your face away from us when we desire You for it, O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and give us what You love, and make it strength for us in what You love, O Most Merciful of the merciful)
Oh Allah, We supplicate that you make easy for us Prayer and grant us unwavering faith and beneficial patience to receive the blessings that we seek. Your bounties, O our Lord. Ameen

O Allah! Indeed, I ask You for steadfastness upon Deen and firmness upon guidance. And I ask You for that which makes Your mercy compulsory and the things that necessitate Your forgiveness. It is Reported by Al-Bukhari from Abu Dharr that once the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) asked him after sunset, “Do you know where the sun goes (at the time of sunset)?”
He replied, “Allah and His Apostle know better.”
So the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) answered:
“It goes and prostrates beneath the Throne, then it asks for permission (to rise) and permission is given to it. Soon it will prostrate, but it will not be accepted from it, and it will ask for permission (to rise) but permission will not be given to it; it will be said to it: “Go back to where you came from.’ So it will rise from its place of setting and that is what Allah, may He be Glorified, refers to in the verse: ‘And the sun runs its fixed course for a term (decreed). That is The Decree of (Allah) The Exalted in Might, The All-Knowing (Qur’an 36:38)'”.
This image was taken by me today in the evening and it was such a beautiful sight Subhan’Allah. Sunsets are prettier whenever you are with your soulmate Alḥamdulillāh 🤲🏻

🌷Duaa’s to fight anxiety and depression🌷
8) And the Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam said
“O Allaah, nothing is easy but that which You make easy and You can make hardship easy if You will.”
(Ibn Hibbaan - saheeh by al-Albaani)
