🎧 #STRAY_KIDS: friendship styles!

🚏 safe place: This one was obvious from the start. Chan didn’t even have to try and make himself a safe place; he just was. He was the one person you could be with without even needing to say a word. Bang Chan was the definition of safe. You knew that as long as you were with him, he’d try his hardest to accommodate you even when that meant it would make him uncomfortable. As a leader and the oldest, he knew when he needed to be firm or speak with you, but that only solidified his position as your sanctuary of sorts. From his reassuring hugs to encouraging words, Chan was an angel.

🚏 opposites attract: You weren’t ever too sure what made your relationship with Minho work as well as it did. Maybe, it was the way you both loved to learn about each other's interests, even if you would never look into them beyond that point. You both loved eating out together often, always sharing each other’s plates to try something new. Whenever you were around the other boys, you would always laugh the hardest at what Minho had said. Whenever you ended up alone with the man, you’d always feel right at home despite his enigmatic aura around you. You didn’t need to have too much in common to appreciate him and his personality.

🚏 admiration: It was easy to admire such an emotionally intelligent and strong-minded man as Changbin. While Changbin can be loud and a bit of a baby, it’s clear that he’s secure with himself. Not only is he a strong man in terms of his physicality, but also his mentality. You aspired to be more like Changbin in everyday life, frequently going to him for words of encouragement and reassurance. You loved how Changbin was able to express himself without ever faltering. You often thought that without having Changbin as a pillar in your life, it’d all fall apart. He was also a soft man, which, of course, only added to your admiration.

🚏twin flame: Without Hyunjin, you always felt an emptiness in your heart. He was your second half. It was almost unbelievable how both of you felt as if you were meant to be around one another. You never had to do too much to keep yourself around Hyunjin. It was almost as if you were magnets of the opposite pole - forever attached at the hip. If someone was looking for you, they’d always find you cuddled up with Hyunjin in his room. You were often the muse of Hyunjin’s paintings as he said that it was almost natural to paint you. Hyunijn was the love of your life. You couldn’t live without him.

🚏 partners in crime: Being with Jisung was always an adventure. Jisung had too many tricks up his sleeves for you not to try and get in with him. He’s always getting the two of you into trouble. One too many times has one of the other dormmates come into his room to yell at you two to shut the hell up at three in the morning after Jisung fell off the bed from laughing. Whenever the group accompanies you on your shopping trips to the grocery store, you find yourself running up and down the aisles with Jisung as Chan checks off your grocery list with Minho. It was fun to be around Jisung!

🚏 sun & moon: To put it simply, Felix needs to exist for you to feel sane. Without him, your days often feel off balance and gloomy, literally. It feels as if Felix’s smile alone can outdo the sun in every way possible. You have Felix to come along and brighten your day. He is always up to something, whether it be baking you 100 cookies for you to enjoy with him or snuggling up close to you in his bed as you drift off into sleep. It feels as if Felix didn’t exist; there would be no reason for you to live. What is the use of the moon if there is no sun?

🚏 siblings: It was way too easy to get on Seungmin’s nerves. Though, his chaotic energy was also one to get on your nerves after a minute or so. The vibe with Seungmin was super different from the rest of the members. With him, it just felt natural to be your most honest self. Your time together was spent in silence if he wasn’t trying to get you to shove him to get you in trouble with Chan. Sometimes, it genuinely did feel like Seungmin was your brother. He would tag along with you on your nightly trips to the convenience store, and other times he’d bring you your favorite ice cream cone.

🚏 soulmates: Being the closest in age to Jeongin meant you two probably had the most in common. You both bonded over your interest in fashion and current fashion trends you could both try and execute. He was your best friend before you met any of the other boys. You knew him like the back of your hand. If you weren’t hanging around Hyunijn, you were definitely annoying Jeongin. Despite Jeongin’s apparent distaste for skinship, he was always willing to let you cuddle up to him whenever you wanted. On the days Jeongin was feeling a bit more cuddly, you would always catch him dozing off as a movie played in the background.

This took me about 3000 years to finish but FINALLY she's here. It's a little self-indulgent with the 'friendship types' being based off of what I feel with skz but...... still Very Soft still Very Enjoyable.

synopsis. new girl yn had felt the need to stay under the radar ever since she arrived at yonsei uni. the last thing she needed at the start of a new semester was drama. that was until she met minho, and hyunjin had a problem with it.

you huffed as you stuffed your school laptop into your bag, visibly stressing about your audition later today. you couldn’t believe that you had left yunjin and felix talk you into this! you were so stressed you were surprised you hadn’t broken into hives.

you had already talked yourself down from a breakdown twice today, and it was only midday. you had stayed up for three consecutive nights to learn your script the most and best you could. you weren’t one to lie, so you can admit it; acting had always interested you, even before you knew what it was. you were grateful hyunjin had gotten you this opportunity, but the concept of having to audition for someone, scratch that, two people made you feel like jumping off the school roof.

you had about an hour to spare and were on your way to the drama club to run your lines a few more times before you go in for your audition. you read your lines over as you quickly walked down the stairs, accidentally slamming into someone as you turned the corner, “oof!” “oh, fuck!” you yelped, falling to the ground with your script falling all over the hall.

“shit! are you okay?” you heard a soothing voice ask you from above, half expecting hyunjin when you looked up. you were stunned to meet the sharp eyes of someone who you’d call the most gorgeous man you’ve ever seen. probably. well, this man and hyunjin. you gasped as he quickly moved to grab the papers that had flown the farthest. you scrambled to gather the papers around you, quickly picking them up and reaching for those farther. you felt yourself get hot as you grabbed the stranger’s hand, quickly retracting with a small shriek.

“i’m sorry-!” you looked up to apologize, watching as a slightly toothy smile come across his face. “no problem.. um?” he trailed off. “oh! i’m yn!” you silently noticed that he hadn’t retracted his hand from your paper, “then it’s no problem, yn. here you go.” you silently prayed you had maintained your regular skin color and weren’t instead the color of a tomato. “thank you. i’ll see you later!” you let out a farewell before you realized what you had even said.

to say you were flustered was an understatement. you hastily made your way to the drama club, trying to avoid any other embarrassing situations. “hey! yn!” you heard jeongin call out for you, you slowed down for him to catch up to you, turning in his direction, surprised to see hyunjin was with him.

hyunjin’s discomfort was more than obvious as they got closer to you. he slowly followed jeongin as the latter practically skipped over to you, “hurry up, hyunjin!” you were confused by their current dynamic. jeongin and hyunjin were often seen laughing and fucking around, you didn’t understand why hyunjin seemed so distant right now.

“hey, yn,” hyunjin’s voice was as soft as always. he had barely even looked up at you this time. you were somewhat glad if you were being honest. “hi, hyunjin! what’re you guys up to?” 

“not much! we were just roaming, waiting for our next class.” you noticed jeongin’s eyes shift between you and hyunijn several times, “are you okay jeongin? you keep looking around?” “oh, yeah! i’m fine~ anyway! where are you going right now?”

“i’m actually on my way to the drama club! you guys wanna join me?” you looked over to hyunjin, “maybe you can help me with my lines-?” before you could finish your question, jeongin hooked his arm around hyunjin’s neck, uncomfortably hugging him, “of course, yn! hyunjin and i would love that! wouldn’t you hyunjin?”

you laughed at jeongin’s strange demeanor, “okay, you guys. just promise you’ll be normal.” the pair snickered at your comment, “we promise nothing!” you heard hyunjin’s voice from behind you.

you had arrived a few minutes later than you had expected and with a few more people than appreciated, but you made it! you had been running lines with jeongin for a few minutes before he announced he needed to ‘use the shitter.’ “seriously, jeongin? can you be normal for more than twenty minutes?” “fuck no! anyway, hyunjin, help out yn with her lines, you bitch!”

“you don’t have to do that hyunjin, don’t worry about it, i’ve been running these lines forever.”

“are you sure? i don’t mind helping out.”

“you could help me by distracting me,” you smiled at him, hoping he’d be able to take your mind off of your audition for just a moment. for the first time in two months, you had been at yonsei, you were finally getting to know hyunjin. you had learned that he was an only child with a dog named kkami, and that he had an affinity for art and photography outside of drama club. somewhere between pauses in your conversation, you heard the main door open. you once again met gazes with the sharp, cat-like eyes of the guy you had bumped into in the hallway.

with a small smile and a nod of the head, he walked into the room where you’d be having your interview. you felt your heart fall into your ass, no way the man you had slammed your body into was going to be interviewing you. of course, hyunjin noticed your change in demeanor and followed your line of view, his smile fading when he noticed who you had been staring at. before he could as you what was wrong, the interview room door swung open, “yn ln?”

oh, shit. “good luck, yn!” you heard hyunjin softly cheer you on from beside you. “thanks, jinnie,” you whispered back before getting up and biting the bullet.

“please make sure to keep an eye on the drama club's twitter account! we’ll update it to let everyone know who got the part!” mr. kang explained to you after you finished your read, letting you go back to your friends who were waiting for you in the main room, now accompanied by yunjin. “my baby! how did it go?” you all but fell into yunjin’s arms before letting out the longest sigh, “oh my god, i need a drink.”

mixtape: on track – chapter two. surprise~ 📝

synopsis. new girl yn had felt the need to stay under the radar ever since she arrived at yonsei uni. the last thing she needed at the start of a new semester was drama. that was until she met minho, and hyunjin had a problem with it.

your mouth fell slightly ajar as you walked past the steamers that hung from the door. a dozen or so vanities ran along the three available walls of the small room, a small dressing room to your left. you had never seen this room in your previous visits. usually, it was you and your small group of friends making decorations for your new dorm in the club’s main room.

it was nearly completely dark, aside from a couple of vanities that yunjin was using to do her makeup and the primary light that had been covered up with a dark purple light sheet (probably yunjin’s touch.) you moved into view in yunjin’s mirror, completely scaring the shit out of her, “oh my god, yn! please say something next time! i feel like a produce 101 trainee right now.” you let out a cackle as you felt a hand come out to your shoulder, felix’s face coming into view in the mirror next, scaring the shit out of yunjin and you this time. “what is wrong with you people! does no one knock anymore!” yunjin shrieked, flailing her blush brush around.

you smacked felix on the shoulder when you felt your heartbeat go back down to its regular rate. felix wrapped his arms around your waist, tickling your neck with his breath, “so, jinnie, what did you need me for, love?” 

“oh! yeah!” you watched as her pouty face morphed into her usual sunny expression, “i was gonna talk to you about auditions! i signed you up for auditions!” you stared at yunjin, your mouth forming an ‘O,’ trying to gauge if she was being serious with right now. “surprise!” yunjin displayed her jazz hands as she turned to face you. “yunjin, i love you, but why would you do that!”

“I want you to make more friends! become friends with my friends and then join the drama club so we can always hang out!” if it weren’t for felix holding you up right now you’d probably be laying with your ass up in the air on the floor right now. “yunjin!” “whaat! auditions are this thursday! make sure to be here by 1 pm!”

you looked at felix through the mirror, pleading for an out. “c’mon, yn, maybe you’ll like it! or maybe, you might not even make it past the audition and you can forget about it!” you sigh to yourself, your friends were right. maybe it was time to make some new friends. and maybe you would enjoy it. who knows but future you? “ugh, fine! but i’m only doing it because i trust you, yunjin!” yunjin squealed as she clapped, standing out of her chair and pulling both you and felix into a hug. “yay! i promise you won’t regret this, my love!” you definitely hoped so.

mixtape: on track – chapter one. when eyes meet 📝

synopsis. new girl yn had felt the need to stay under the radar ever since she arrived at yonsei uni. the last thing she needed at the start of a new semester was drama. that was until she met minho, and hyunjin had a problem with it.

“hello, my beautiful love!” you heard from down the hallway, yunjin making her presence known not just to you, but to the entire hall. you laughed as she draped her arms around you, hugging you tightly, “hi, my jinnie.” “jeez, can you guys just date already?” you heard jeongin complain from behind you two, making you spin around in yunjin’s arms, hugging her properly. “what do you losers want from me?” you ask, making eye contact with jeongin specifically. “woah? does anyone else feel targeted right now?” 

“we’re just passing by,” you heard a soft voice from behind your locker, hyunjin. “oh. okay,” at this point, you had known hyunjin and the rest of your friends for two months. you were able to get along with everyone and even got comfortable enough to make fun of each other, but there was something about hyunjin that prevented you from being able to do that with him. 

you were sure he was a nice guy. after all he was friends with yunjin, felix, seungmin and jeongin like you were, and they were all sweethearts! well, jeongin and seungmin are less so, but still! those boys wouldn’t hang out with anyone who was an asshole, you hoped. you often caught yourself not being able to look him in the eyes, or otherwise, you felt like you might explode from his gaze alone. this time was the exact same, you only gazed at his lips as a form of acknowledgment. maybe that was another reason you couldn’t look hyunjin in the eye, the man looked like he should be a model!

“we’re on our way to drama club-” “you should come with!” yunjin loudly interrupted seungmin. that boy had the patience of a monk. “i wish i could, guys, but i have a class in about fifteen minutes,” you declined as you checked your wristwatch, “if you guys are still there when i get out, i might swing by?” 

“sounds great, love!” yunjin exclaimed as she hugged you again, “okay, i have to go to the restroom real quick. you guys walk her to class, and then we can go!” you looked between the three men around you, shrugging your shoulders before starting on your way to class, “i appreciate it you guys, but you don’t have to if you don’t want to.” 

“are you sure?” jeongin and seungmin asked. you simply nodded and turned back around, “sure, i don’t want to keep you guys from yunjin and whatever you guys are doing,” you said with a small smile. as much as you really did appreciate it, you still didn’t want to make the boys uncomfortable by making them do things like walk you to your class. “fine,” jeongin said before seungmin started, “we’ll see you later, right?” you chuckled, “i’ll try! if you guys aren’t there when i get out we can always go out for dinner.”

before you had made it halfway down your hall, you turned back, making sure that the boys had left on their way to drama club. you felt your eyes slightly widen as you made eye contact with hyunjin, who was leaning up against the wall, watching you as you walked to class.

synopsis. new girl yn had felt the need to stay under the radar ever since she arrived at yonsei uni. the last thing she needed at the start of a new semester was drama. that was until she met minho, and hyunjin had a problem with it.

you groggily sat up as you desperately tried to find your phone in between your thick sheets, the alarm you had set for this morning blaring throughout your room. in a moment of annoyance, you swing your blankets off of you, hearing a loud clank against your hardwood floor. please, don’t let this be indicative of my day. 

you laid back in bed after picking your phone up, immediately kicking your blanket back off of you when you noticed the time. a bright “1:00 PM” staring back at you. you had about half an hour left to shower, get ready, and walk to jeongin’s dorm, about five blocks away. i think i might kill myself.

you had managed to get ready with ten minutes to spare, making your way out of your dorm before you could even make sure your shoes were on properly. showing up at the doorstep of two of the most good-looking guys on campus with a bare face and sweat running down your forehead was less than ideal, but it’s not like you had many other options at the time.

“i thought you said no later than one-thirty?” jeongin teasingly asked as he opened his front door. “ugh, i woke up late,” you groaned, “where’s hyunjin at?” you asked as you looked around the small dorm, noticing the ungodly amount of pizza boxes lying around. “uh, maybe my room, but probably the restroom.”

“okay, well. i’ll be waiting for you guys outside!” you anxiously watched the numbers change on your phone screen as you waited for the boys. “hey, yn!” you smiled as you heard hyunjin’s cheery voice, giving him a small wave, trying to hide your face as much as you could out of embarrassment. “are you guys ready to go?” you asked as you watched jeongin lock up his dorm.

“all ready to go,” you replied, glancing over at hyunjin for his confirmation, unconsciously mimicking his nod, “do you guys mind if we stop by a convenience store first? we’re already running late anyway,” you asked as you made your way down the stairs. “only if you’re buying,” you heard jeongin snicker from behind you. “of course, i’m buying, baby bread,” you teased him, letting out a cackle as you heard jeongin whine.

the walk to the convenience store was quiet, apart from whenever hyunjin would abruptly giggle, finding whatever jeongin had said funny. you tried to keep yourself ahead of them, trying to keep your face shielded and away from hyunjin. “feel free to get whatever you want boys! i have some school credit left on my card, so don’t worry about it!” of course, jeongin immediately made his way to the back where the ramen was stored, meanwhile hyunjin walked over to the chip aisle.

i wonder if minho would want something…

you hastily made your way to the coolers containing ice cream bars, looking over to find minho’s melona and yunjin’s screw bar. “which one is your favorite?” hyunjin softly spoke from beside you, startling you out of your concentration. “shit, i’m sorry,” he chuckled, “i didn’t mean to scare you.” you laughed when you met eyes with hyunjin, “oh my god, don’t worry! i need to pay more attention to my surroundings!” you laughed, trying to use your hair to hide your face, again. “um, these aren’t for me. the melona is for minho, and this is yunjin’s, but i’m sure you know.” 

“minho?” there was a look of panic in hyunjin’s eyes, not having meant to have spoken his mind. “yeah, chan wanted us to go in for fittings together and he asked me to pick him up. you don’t mind do you?” “no! of course not! i was just wondering where you knew him from?” it was nice enough of a save, you probably wouldn’t notice how his lip twitched like it usually did when he lied. 

“let’s go! i got all of the buldak noodles in stock! hurry up before we get banned!” you couldn’t help but laugh at jeongin’s comment, quickly grabbing another screw bar for yourself before going to pay. “um, i met him on my way to my audition, and then i auditioned for him,” you explained to hyunjin as you made your way out of the store. 

you all managed to carry multiple bags of buldak noodles into the school building, quickly making your way up to minho’s building. “one last stop before the club, guys. plus, maybe he can even help us out with jeongin’s loot,” you said as you popped your popsicle into your mouth. “hey! it’s not just mine! it’s for the club!” you looked down at your phone, only a few minutes until minho’s class ended.

the door next to you suddenly swung open, barely missing you as jeongin yanked your arm, pulling you out of the way, “fuck, you dumbasses! could you be any less careful?” he exclaimed as he pat your head. “aw! does baby bread actually care about me?” you laughed as jeongin pulled you away from him, stuffing his hands into his pockets. “of course i care, you idiot.”

“hey, guys!” minho greeted as he pulled the boys into a hug, giving you a wave and a cute smile. “hi, minho,” you quietly replied, returning the wave, “mind lending a hand?” you laughed. minho was beside you, taking the several bags out of your hands before you even knew it. “oh! hey! let me get you your ice cream before it melts.”

“i appreciate it, yn, but i can’t really open it right now,” minho gave you a bashful smile as you tried to hand him his ice cream. “oh! shit. yeah. you’re right. here, let me open it for you!” you suddenly felt embarrassed as you noticed the three pairs of eyeballs staring as you tried to feed minho. “uh, sorry. i just didn’t want it to melt-”

“don’t sweat it, yn. i don’t mind being fed by a pretty girl.” you couldn’t help but feel hot as you processed what minho had just said to you, looking over at the other two boys witnessing this. jeongin’s signature smirk was ever-present as he noticed minho’s flirting. “right, well. we should get going before chan eats us alive,” hyunjin spoke, trying to move on from this as quickly as possible.
