- They’re not the “evil” and “destroy humanity” kind of demon (so basically they're not the “stereotypical demon”)

- You’re interested in human customs

- You consider the demons (the ones in your world) as colleagues/ friends

- You do know some angels, some try to be friends with you, but others, you’re not on the best of terms with them

- You don’t get the “Angels are bad they kill people” thing in the butlers’ world

- You told Berrien, Fennesz, or any butler who’s interested in your world, EVERY detail and history of demons and angels in your world (they were quite stunned to know that angels were the “good” entities

jonathan knowing about will being gay and letting him know that he loves his brother unconditionally. that whole scene was fantastic, they both brought in their A acting game. i love that it was never stated explicitly, but they both knew what the other was talking about. Very realistic

their overdone trend of introducing loveable new characters just to kill them off as a way to protect the protagonists. eddie was so good, they're so lazy for not keeping him and trying to figure out a way to resolve his being wanted for the murders

I'm Not Here ‼🚫🚫 for stancy. this is a stancy hater zone, i hate everyone involved in this show for reviving it. 1) i don't care for jancy, so i refuse to accept they made me sit through a part of this show i don't care about just for it to be unmade. 2) technically the best for nancy is some time single. 3) that is Such a peewee weakass """resolve""" for steve's character. let him move on ffs, there was a very satisfying way his arc could be heading (was heading!!) and this is not it. he's one of the best parts of the show and it's definitely not because of his relationship with nancy, it's because of his chemistry with the kids, with robin, and his want/need to be protective of them. it's fine that he dreams of having a family but him telling that to nancy and saying she's the one was sooooo ooc. ew

the pacing was 😐 questionable. some strange cuts while some scenes lingered on foreverrrr. i def 1.5x-ed a lot of that shit

i've always been team "will likes mike who knows but doesn't reciprocate" so with that in mind mike's characterization this season doesn't make any sense. why was he weird about will? wasn't will his first and best friend in the world? soooo weird that mike lives and breathes for eleven now and has forgotten how much he and will meant to each other, romantic feelings or not

speaking of eleven, i was really hoping that the strength she would find to fight back would come from within herself, since her arc was building up towards her finding herself, and not from mike saying how she's his superhero

back to the cali gang, i saw someone say how everything they did this season was give pep talks and that's so true. jonathan > will > mike > eleven. such a waste of once the core of the show

+ the very 🤨 moment of will's feelings for mike (in the way will verbalized them to him) being used for mike to verbalize his feelings to eleven was very sus. an embarrasing lack of tact by the writers there

Hopefully I don't get dragged to hell and back for saying this...but if there is one thing I will never understand....it was the fact that they made Lucas ditch Marisol at the Disaster Recoupling.

What even was the point of supposedly switching from one person you don't like much (still surprised because how did he not like Marisol?) to another person you clearly don't like either (yes I'm talking about MC)

I know Henrik liked MC as a person regardless...so I guess I can see why he did it (?). But with Lucas it just seemed kind of stupid.

For the plot purposes...I guess because they had to alternate between the whole "stealing MC" from her partner thing. But he clearly didn't like her at all...so to me I always wished there was a way I could have let him just stick with Marisol tbh because what even was the difference-

(With that being said. Most of the characters in S2 give me bad vibes and I quite frankly don't like any of them much...sorry (probably just Henrik and the MC herself, probably just the MC) but otherwise I don't find a single one of them trustworthy. The only islanders I really liked were in S1 and S3. I've not played the other Seasons to judge them.)

I can definitely see where you’re coming from here. Aside from Hope and MC, Lucas seems like he would have a connection with Marisol, who has similarities to the other two girls. I do understand they needed it for plot purposes but you are right, it’s a bit weird for Lucas or Henrik to pick MC out of nowhere. Henrik is very much a golden retriever imo too.

But I’m a bit tired of S2 myself. I used to love S2, was obsessed with it for a long time but it’s died down now. If you like S1 and S3, I can understand why you wouldn’t like S2. There are times the S2 characters do things that are ooc (but I guess that goes for other seasons, too - hello?! S3 LI forgetting MCs name?!).

I’m not going to drag you at all! I love hearing unpopular opinions and seeing how other people feel. I love characters people don’t like, I can’t stand the characters most people love. I stand on the boat with you and hold your hand in support, anon!

Oh, boy. Was it more M!lexa nonsense? I had a feeling the s3 synopsis would get them going. We will never be rid of those people. I block very liberally at this point, but even very briefly having to go their page is icky. On twitter, when someone retweets a shitty person into my feed or I go into a hashtag, I have the option to block/mute immediately without having to look further. It's a lifesaver. Really wish that was a thing here too.

It was just the same nonsense about people babying Alex and hating m*ria for no reason (whooo boy, are there reasons but ya know, whatever) and hating m*luca because Michael can't be allowed to move on, but Alex can (which I knew was going to be coming with all the Forlex stuff on top of a season of Michael being OOC and made to look like such an uncaring dick. At least when Alex was pushing Michael away in season 1 (aside from the opening of 1x09 which came out of nowhere to try and make the m*luca hookup make sense) it was awful to watch but easy to see the underlying trauma response that triggered it. Michael wasn't really allowed that courtesy by c*rina in season 2 but I digress)

And as always, of course more m*lexa garbage. Some people cannot imagine men and women being friends without sex, and it shows. I am eternally haunted by Alex saying that when he was with women he was trying to disappear, and m*lexa stans ignoring that in favor of equating someone with a deeply traumatic abuse history feeling safe with a friend, and them having sexual desire more than a decade down the road. Almost like these people are happy to let who Alex is disappear in order to enjoy their "it's just some sexy, cutesy, fun" ship.

yh i’ve seen other ppl saying that they were gonna pretend the Quibbler quest didn’t happen or substitute Emily or someone else in instead of Ismelda in their HC’s because of how OOC she was in it. i’ll probably do the same tbh. ngl i’ll take take literally anything other than what we got. the only thing i enjoyed was getting to hang out with Chiara and Barnaby as a trio for once. everything else just sucked imo :/

I enjoyed the plot of the quest. It was a decent enough excuse to work Xenophilius into HPHM without feeling like blatant fanservice. And you know what? I sort of really like the detail that Chiara finds the Quibbler to be total rubbish? It wasn’t even disdainful like Hermione’s point of view, because that’s not really Chiara’s style. It was more along the lines of saying to Barnaby (Who does believe in the Quibbler’s findings and that likewise makes sense for his character) that “Hey, you know that stuff isn’t true, right? It’s pure nonsense.” I dunno I just kinda loved the little details like that. I loved the whole competition angle of the story. And the photo would be such a great reward if...and only if...it was actually of a snorkack. I know I’ve said this before but the Quintaped cameo is so out of nowhere and makes zero sense. It actually makes less than zero sense if you know your Quintaped lore, and it seems like MC did...

Ismelda is still the biggest problem though. I’m with you on not knowing what to do, but leaning toward ignoring it the way I do for Penny’s entrancing enchantment fiasco. I mean, I was on the verge or amending my headcanons to say that Luca actually grows to care a lot about Ismelda and unironically hangs out with her and Beatrice in Year 6. But after this? Combined with the love potion incident, she’s just...done a lot of unforgiveable things. And I don’t even understand why she did this one. As for Gail? She already hated Ismelda and this would simply be something that I don’t see either of them being able to come back from. I remember conceiving this scene concept in my head after Merula was outed as the mole, where Gail immediately met with Dumbledore to tell him, and her message was basically. “You need to expel her.” But it wasn’t even personal, it was from the point of view of her actively being a danger to the other students. But after Ismelda tries to out a werewolf for selfish and immature reasons...? Damn that scene could work for either Ismelda or Merula...

THE CURSED SERPENT

Lucia was born to a barmaid in Spanish-occupied Mexico, a parting ‘gift’ left by her father, a Captain in the Spanish navy. The port town she grew up in was crawling with sailors who filled the tavern with drunken stories about their times at sea. When she was young her mother would dress her up as a boy and send her out to work. There was always work scrubbing barnacles and mopping the decks of ships that stopped over. She got to know some of the crews and through shear persistence was accepted onto a ship as a deckhand. She spent the early years of her life disguised as a boy, ‘Luca’, and sailed around the Caribbean and Pacific Oceans on Spanish naval vessels, running errands and doing menial jobs. Lucia took advantage of her youthful charm by constantly asking the sailors questions, trying to learn about every aspect of the ship. She learned to sail and navigate before she could even read words.

As she came into adolescence it was becoming harder and harder to disguise her femininity so she went ashore in Spain with the quiet hope of finding her father. The reality of being a young girl alone in a new country with nowhere to go hit her hard however. She spent months surviving on scraps, sleeping on the street, and hitting walls in her enquiries after her father. Spain was not at all what she’d hoped for, she was desperate to return to the freedom of the open seas by any means necessary.

Desperate enough to join a crew of amateur pirates on their ship, La Valiente. La Valiente was a hair away from setting sale for the Caribbean when Spanish guards raided it and captured everyone on board.

Lucia was held in prison for weeks, pleading her innocence until finally she was brought to speak to those in charge. They asked her about her home, her family, and how she had come to Spain..She divulged everything for of course she wasn’t a pirate, she just wanted to get home. They offered to spare her the noose and give her the freedom to leave Spain in return for Lucia joining the pirate crew of The Cursed Serpent as their agent, to gather information about planned raids and pirate activity in Spanish occupied territories.

A couple of years in, their interest shifted to Captain Bradway and his private studies. Her mission became to gain the Captain’s trust and find out what he knew about the Jewels of Destiny.

A former rigger caught Lucia rooting around in Captian Bradway’s cabin and reading his journals. She killed him without hesitation and threw the body overboard to stop him exposing her.

There are some members of the crew that she greatly admires for their strength, intelligence and brutality in battle. There are others she finds harder to tolerate and she does nothing to hide that fact. She tries her best to keep a healthy emotional distance from everyone on board but this has become harder the longer she stays with them.

As she grew closer to Bradway she came to respect him immensely and almost saw him as a father figure. He gave her guidance, support and most devastatingly of all trusted her enough to make her Helmsman. Spying on him started to feel like a betrayal and made her question whether the payment and safety her loyalty to Spain bought her was worth it. These doubts have only grown since his death.

SECRET

Lucia is a Spanish spy embedded in the crew of The Cursed Serpent. She has been passing information about the Captain’s research into the Jewels of Destiny to Spain.

Haikyuu!! - Pride and Prejudice AU

Okay, so I was just doing my thing, washing the dishes, when randomly this idea just came out of nowhere and I just needed to write it out! I don’t know if I’m gonna divide this into two parts (you know, characters AND plot, probably yes) but I’m just gonna start writing it out. Let’s get started!

The Bennet’s / The Iwaizumi’s:

Mr & Mrs Bennet / Iwaizumi Hajime & Oikawa Tooru: Come on, you can’t tell me that Oikawa wouldn’t be the perfect Mrs Bennet! Oikawa Tooru it’s the perfect drama queen and its very childish at times, but it has a good heart and a very unique personality, something that just the beautiful Mr Iwaizumi Hajime can deal with. And for the love of volleyball, just replace all the whining of “Mr Bennet” of Mrs Bennet and replace it with the “Iwa-chan” of Oikawa and tell me if I’m wrong!

Jane Bennet / Sugawara Koushi:  So there are three things that Jane Bennet and Sugawara Koushi have in common: amazing beauty, they're good listeners and both have a heart of gold, do I have to say more? 

Elizabeth Bennet / Hinata Shouyou: You can’t tell me you didn’t saw that one coming, even though I’m a Kagehina shipper, I can totally see numerous traits of Elizabeth Bennet in Hinata, like for example their prejudice: being able to yell the truths of their respective SO to their faces (don’t matter if they’re handsome and murderous at the same time) even though they’re wrong about it. Also, Hinata almost never refrains his mouth (just like Elizabeth) and you can’t tell me that Hinata wouldn’t be the favourite of Hajime.

Mary Bennet / Michimiya Yui:  She’s one of the characters that are pretty OOC in this AU, Mary is smart as her father but pedantic as her mother leading to embarrassing situations without her knowing, so it’s kinda difficult for her to “shine” between her sisters, she’s also described as the “Ignored Bennet”. I chose Yui as Mary not just because of the embarrassing situations she put herself into (when with Daichi), but because of the frustrating feeling of trying and not shining enough to be seen. Also, why not being the “Ignored Bennet” because of the lack of girls in the family?

Catherine “Kitty” Bennet & Lydia Bennet / Akira Kunimi & Yuutarou Kindaichi: It’s a fact that Kunimi and Kindaichi have a very good relationship, they have a very immature grudge against Kageyama and they talk behind him. I chose them to be Kitty and Lydia because honestly, I’m a little tired of them being evilize in almost every fanfiction, but leaving that, Kitty and Lydia also are pretty close and just like Kunimi and Kindaichi are pretty immature (you have to admit that Kunimi and Kindaichi were pretty immature with all of the “King of the Court” incident too). Also, Kitty is basically the shadow of Lydia even though she’s older; and to be honest I felt like Kunimi would be the perfect shadow because of his quiet personality opposing the competitive and stubborn of Kindaichi, the Lydia of this AU.

The Darcy’s and The Bingley’s / The Kageyama’s and The Sawamura’s

Charles Bingley/ Daichi Sawamura: This ray of sunshine deserves the role of Mr Bingley, he’s handsome and has this beautiful heart of gold. And come on, both of them are dense as a rock!

Caroline Bingley & Louisa Hurst / Miya Atsumu & Miya Osamu: I’ll start with this saying: both of the pairs are a pair of motherfuckers. I imagine Atsumu as Caroline because they’re basically the head of the plan and in each case; Louisa and Osamu, just roll with it. Osamu is shown more mature that Atsumu, and I also think that it’s the same case with Louisa and Caroline. Also, both pairs have handsome faces.

Fitzwilliam Darcy / Kageyama Tobio: This one is easy, I mean dark and handsome face, mysterious personality, just spit out what he thinks, cold as the pole outside but a teddy bear on the inside. Ladies and gentlemen I present to you, Kageyama Tobio, one of the best candidates to be Fitzwilliam Darcy and represent him perfectly without even trying!

Georgiana Darcy / Yachi Hitoka: So, I have it hard with this one, originally I wanted to put Kiyoko, but I think Hitoka fits more in the character of a sweet selfless girl who loves his brother, even if she knows that sometimes he’s a bastard. Plus, just think about Shouyou and Hitoka bonding over all the grumpy faces of Kageyama!

The other important characters:

George Wickham / Daishou Suguru: They are both snakes. I won’t say anything else. Just that. They’re fucking snakes.

William Collins / Lev Haiba: I know that Lev would never be as desperate and ugly as Collins, but I needed an awkward and personal space invader, so I decided to let it like this, even though it doesn’t convince me as much as I wanted. #OCC

Charlotte Lucas / Yaku Morisuke: Okay, this is completely OOC, I just can’t let Lev die all alone being Mr Collins in this AU. But at least just let me get one point that it kind of connect the dots between the two pairs: neither of Charlotte and Yaku can’t stand very well Collins and Yaku but they try too (for different reasons, but they try). #OCCSORRY

Lady Catherine de Bourgh / Washijou Tanji: Who could fulfil the impotent Lady Catherine de Bourgh but our very scary and strict coach of Shiratorizawa, Washijou Tanji?

Anne de Bourgh / Goshiki Tsutomu: I just wanted that this cinnamon roll appeared in this AU, plus he’s the smallest of the Shiratorizawa team, so it kinda fits.

Colonel Fitzwilliam / Tsukishima Kei: Knows how to rile up the grumpy man with black hair? Check, Knows how to rile up the impotent leader of Shiratorizawa? Check, even though its a little OCC because the Colonel was a very nice person I would like to see Tsukki and Tobio being cousins and change the dynamic between the original cousins (be able to be in the same room without bickering) to something more interesting (show some of the new character development in Haikyuu!!). 

Mr & Mrs Gardiner / Bokuto Koutarou & Akaashi Keiji : This one is pretty easy, we needed someone who had convince Shouyou to travel with them and who would be better at this than our favourite owl: Akaashi and Bokuto. Plus BokuAka is basically an old married couple and you can’t change my mind!

My problems with S3

Salty rant in no particular order below the cut

What the HELL happened to the Byers? They went from being the emotional heart of the show to literally having one brief scene together in ep1 and then Will and Joyce had a hug by the end of ep8, which btw Jonathan DIDN’T EVEN JOIN IN ON??? He was literally in the background in that scene, are you trying to tell me my boy Jonathan Byers would not come out to hug his family after all that shit they just went through???? Jonathan and Will spent like what, four episodes standing next to each other and they barely even exchanged a single line?? Not a comforting touch, a hug, anything??

The Byers’ financial situation and how that could’ve given them some interaction, weight to Joyce’s desire to move and also the Byers talking about that AT ALL was lying right there for the taking. Joyce and Jonathan both had obvious concerns about losing their jobs

Joyce got to spend time doing something else than worrying about Will this season which was nice (instead running after manchild Hopper, great), but where are the repercussions of that? With the growing up theme I was hoping for Joyce to start to look into herself, about letting go and who she is when she’s not a mom

Jonathan was once again reduced to being Nancy’s sidekick, spending most of his time following her around and standing next to her while she drove the plot forward with a vengeance. He spent most of his time in the beginning being an abrasive grump and his pov was barely there with the lack of Byers fam content, which made his argument seem as weak as it did in s2. His scenes with Nancy hit the ground running, were rushed and few and far between. As soon as Jonathan was not by Nancy’s side he disappeared entirely from the plot until she called on him again. He didn’t have one single scene without her

Nancy Wheeler would never, ever stoop so low as to mock Jonathan for a) his socioeconomic position and b) his trauma with his dad. A super ooc low blow. Nancy can obviously be ignorant about how economical strife affects others, but actively mocking him??? This is not the Nancy that approached Jonathan “the freak” in s1 and expressed her concerns despite the entire school side-eyeing her. At least Jonathan got to sass back at her later

Where was Nancy’s backstory that was hinted at before the season? Was hoping for her to get some development OUTSIDE of her rallying to save the world 24/7

Will starts out the season having a semblance of an interesting, very relatable arc (abandonment issues, afraid of growing up, done with The Straights) that then goes nowhere in lieu of The Plot and Will just... doesn’t have a lot of beef with the MF. This thing and the other monsters of the UD fucked him for life, let him have something badass to do like I dunno, give him powers you cowards, let him fight the MF you cowards

Also let Will talk to his family about his issues, or have it be a point that Jonathan is now busy with Nancy and how he misses him. Jonathan being somewhat conflicted about spending all this time outside his family and the potential guilt and effect that has on him. Will destroyed Castle Byers that he and Jonathan built together, where the hell were my brotherly feels???

There was a lot of talk about “new pairings” with the characters, but everything felt very same-y. Jopper goes off on their own, jancy does the same thing, El and Mike have a ton of screentime devoted to just them, Steve and Dustin amped up their bromance to eleven, etc. Even when characters that usually aren’t grouped together were in the same scenes, they barely got anything to say or do (Lucas being said to “become closer with Jancy” was a flat out lie or referred to literally physically standing next to them). Where was Nancy and Joyce solidarity, El and Will siblings, Mike and Nancy bonding over their family falling apart, Jonathan and literally anyone but Nancy?

Villain focus completely shifted from the US government to the spoopy, evil Russians with their spoopy language. Stereotypical, tacky and bland af. Being American is Great and in no way problematic! Go patriotism/capitalism!

The abundance of action and cgi. Omg all of the action sequences. It felt like 70% of the season was spent on El throwing shit around with her powers and Hopper fighting Russian dudes. I remember being halfway through the season and thinking they really should’ve slowed down the plot. But that’s an issue with too little time for too many characters. I had no time to bond with any of the characters I liked since the plots were So Big and So Many that they ate up every opportunity for emotional intimacy and reflection. We had time for a goddamn ad for coke but not for the Byers to interact like once???

Also the whole infection/MF working in the shadows thing? Completely wasted potential. It was set up to induce paranoia in the characters and the MF tricking, playing with and torturing them, people not knowing who to trust which could’ve lead to some really compelling scenes. Nope, it’s just a big meaty version of the MF and now it’s running around town trying to fuck El up while nobody conveniently notices and tons of people died but who cares

Robin was shoehorned into the plot and magically had all the skills it took to figure out the code, could decipher Russian with no previous knowledge (the languages she listed as knowing are not at all related to Russian and why tf does she know so many languages??). At least she slapped Stobin in the face and gave us some actual LGBT rep since the doofuses are hellbent on beating around the bush with Will infinitely

Erica was 100% SASS and nothing else. It got old really quick

The entire plotline with Steve/Dustin/Erica/Robin took up about 60% of screentime with memes and sassy jokes and provided about 5% of relevance in the grand scheme of the plot. Everything they found out in the Russian facility could’ve been relayed by the Russian guy Jopper kidnapped

Which btw, why did a random Russian dude take up that much screentime? He had way more emotional development than 80% of the core cast. Also did we need that much Murray?

Speaking of, I did not need Murray doing his creepy, invasive psycho analysis thing on Jopper like he did Jancy last season. It was terrible and lazy writing then and it’s terrible and lazy now

Steve complaining about popularity “not being that great really” made me want to punch him in the face even more than usual. Nobody gives two shits about a rich white boy who got everything he pointed at, all the popularity and more girls than he could count at school while stomping on the outcasts

Also didn’t need that jab at Nancy in his heartfelt scene with Robin (which was funny bc Robin has a lot of similar traits to Nancy)

Karen and Billy was gross, but at least Karen stopped herself to go back to her unfulfilling but legally sound marriage. No need to rock that boat unnecessarily! A completely mediocre man is just fine for her I guess. At least she got a kickass scene with Nancy

Why in the fucking world did Billy get as much screentime as he did. Why on earth did this asshat, racist abuser get some bs sob story about his awful childhood when we have 47 other, way more sympathetic and interesting characters that could’ve been explored instead. And then he did some stupid “grand heroic sacrifice”. I cried more when the Russian dude died

Max was a victim of Billy’s abuse for years which was completely undermined by her ooc constant concern for him and overblown grief at his death

El being oh so concerned about Billy when she knew he was the asshole who had abused his friends Max and Lucas (and beat up Steve) before felt really insincere

Hopper was a huge, loud, violent jerk this season and I’m not having it. I felt sorry for Joyce having to put up with him and then he presumably died heroically (??? he’s obviously still alive guys) and I...didn’t really care? Was kind of on the Jopper train but have no hopes for it now. Where was their supposed “history” together that was hinted at before the season? It just felt like Hopper constantly acting like a huge, controlling manchild and Joyce having to pep/comfort/discipline him. No sense of back and forth support

What the fuck was that music number with Dustin and Suzie?? Omg cringe. I could feel how the characters all died inside

On the subject of music, they stole Jancy’s theme song and gave it to Steve and Robin and then Mileven. Mileven also stole Jancy’s “I love you”, which was clearly hinted from the name of the song on the soundtrack titled “The first I love you”, which is literally a rehash of their theme “The first lie” in s2. A huge slap in the face to end the season with
