How would things turn out if Carina raised Eleven instead of Henry? Like a role reverse sort of thing, maybe Henry snapped and attacked Brenner and the other kids, and Carina took El away and tried to raise her herself instead?

Hm... interesting question.

I think Carina's motivation at first would be to save at least one of the kids because it's what Brenner would've wanted from her pov and it happens to be Eleven.

I think they'd have a harder time adjusting to the outside world at first. One reason being that she ended up at the lab at a younger age than Henry which means she doesn't have as much experience in regular life.

I think she'd also struggle for reasons out of her control but would take too long to explain. I'm sure being a single mom in the 80s wasn't easy (Joyce might be considered a success story among that idk enough about those experiences)

Originally I feel like her goal would've been to teach El revenge so they can go after Henry but realizes that there's more that's important. She wants El to live life that she [Carina] never got to.

After getting stuff established for a while Carina would make it a personal goal to be reunited with old family members. She does find them eventually and learns that they all thought she probably perished with her parents, but they're overjoyed that she's alive and that she rescued a kid from a dangerous situation.

Now that she has some of her family back they help her and El live a more comfortable life. They both try to put the lab and everything behind them.

Though if Henry succeeded... or is out there trying to be bad, they might have to fight him.

what's your fav henderhop scene??

hi anon! the better question is what isn't my favorite henderhop scene! so i'm going to answer with my top 3 favorite scenes.

Third place:

s3e07: their reunion at starcourt when el flips the car to save the scoops troop. "you flung that thing like a hot wheel!"

Second place:

s1e08: the chocolate pudding scene- "this will charge your battery right up, i'm telling you"- because it's really sweet and also it makes a comeback in season 3 when el tells hopper "my battery will recharge".

First place:

s1e08: dustin carrying el through the hall. it's my favorite for several reasons:

it was improvised (dustin wasn't scripted as the one to carry her).

right as he's picking her up, he says "i got her, i got her" <3

i feel like it's a juxtaposition to when brenner carried el through the hall in the lab. abusive dad vs good friend/future lover.

this is a great example of dustin acknowledging that el isn't all-powerful. she's strong, brave, and has cool superpowers, but dustin recognizes that el isn't a "superhero", and he loves her even in her weakest moments.

none of this run has gone according to plan. it was doomed from the beginning, it seems: from his bike sustaining a flat tire, to the normal path they should have taken washing out because of a storm, every turn has been fraught with unfortunate circumstances. daryl can't help but to curse himself for not acknowledging the warning signs when they were flashing in his face, because now they're here, stuck in the middle of a pack of the dead with only each other to depend on.

it all stings something awful. this run was a huge risk in the first place— they were supposed to be back home by now to avoid the next storm. but as the sky churns with dark clouds overhead and walkers crowd in from all sides, it's clear that they're not making it back anytime soon. that's if they make it back at all.

jesus christ, we're in a lot of trouble, daryl hears @bloodsalted say beside him as rain begins to wash down from the sky. he doesn't know dean very well, but he knows that he's a fighter— someone daryl may have a chance to get out of here with if they make the right decisions. firing a bolt into the closest walker's head, daryl then slings his bow onto his back so that he can pull his knives from their holsters instead. this is going to get close.

‘ c'mon! ’ shifting on his feet as the rain begins to drench them, his knives lodge into two decaying skulls as the dead begin to come within range. he points to a thinner grouping of them, shouting over the rain and thunder to dean. ‘ we break our way through! ’

Ok wait so obviously Beatrice/Carina has this super toxic father dynamic with Papa, but what do you think would happen if Hopper ended up stumbling across her/taking her in the way he did with Eleven? Do you think it would go well, or would something go wrong? I know she's a lot older than Eleven but she's still very troubled, so maybe she'd still latch onto Hopper as a father figure.

Or maybe she'd attack him for trying since she feels like her only valid father figure was Papa. Idk you decide

Hmm... honestly I've never thought about it before. I'm not saying it's impossible, but let me just say it would be a much rockier relationship than Hopper and El's. I'm not sure Hopper would have as much patience with Carina/Beatrice than he had with El. The only way I could see it working is if Hopper truly understands that despite her age, Carina/Beatrice has a more regressed mind because of her trauma and isolation from a young age. Despite her being in her early 30s, she probably acts more like a teen/maybe early 20s? I'm not saying he has to treat her like a child, but he's going to need a lot of patience basically helping her having to unlearn everything she thought was normal, and it's a lot.

So… the kids are somehow Henry’s? I thought Eleven was kidnapped??

None of the subjects are henry’s children. But his DNA was used to give them powers (presumably through his DNA being used on the Mk-ultra patients who eventually ended up having children of their own, or were pregnant while being tested on, ((like 011’s mom)). Eleven was kidnapped but she was born with her powers because of the testing her mother went through.

Also 011 has a cannon father, Andrew Rich, who died before 011 was born.
