Info about my blog:

Hello. My name is Andy, and this is my selfship blog. I won't always post frequently, but when I do, I want to mostly focus on producing my own content (mostly art), but I'll also reblog my friend's art, and sometimes reblog other f/o related stuff I like. (Writing/drawing content may be slow at times due to me being busy irl, but I will never abandon this blog for no reason without saying a word.) 

Also, I have anxiety so I may not be as intereractive in the f/o community as others because initiating conversations is difficult at times for me. But I'm okay with responding to anything.

One fact about me: I love liminal space aesthetics! I can't get enough of it!

Even though this is a selfship blog, I'll also reblog liminal space stuff—or other kinds of scenery in general—with the tag "dreamland" because there's nothing I want to do more than explore all these areas with Sephiroth and the others by my side.

My answers get pretty detailed, so yeah. Everything's under the cut!

1. how did you discover your f/o’s content?

Seph & Cloud: I hope this counts since I technically already knew about FFVII all my life, but I've really only discovered it after Seph joined Smash Bros and then I just started watching videos online about FFVII, learning more and more. At first, I was only interested in learning about Sephiroth, and then Cloud, but eventually I actually got pretty interested in the story of FFVII itself. This led to me playing the remake, then the original, and then Crisis Core—which is a prequel to the main story.

Monokuma: I was in middle school when my oldest brother bought the first DR game and I watched him play through most of it. I'm sure I mentioned this before, but I almost instantly liked Monokuma! (What probably didn't help was how edgy I was in middle school, lol.) I am still the most familiar with the first game, but there are still other characters besides Monokuma that I like/can appreciate (I really love Junko, and I also like the main characters of the main games, Makoto, Hajime, Kaede, and Shuichi). I also seriously appreciate how insane the twists and turns of each murder can get.

Stubbs: My oldest brother showed me a trailer for the game not long after its re-release has been announced. I was intrigued, but didn't think much of it. I did immediately like Stubbs' design, though. Then my brother played it, I walk in, we play together, and yeah. I soon ended up playing the game solo, fully experiencing it myself. I really ended up loving Stubbs, the story, and especially the settings/levels. I like exploring the levels so much, that I consider that game to be my playground, lol. I go in, listening to music, and just wander around enjoying myself.

3. describe the first time you watched/played/read your f/o’s source content.

Seph & Cloud: The first thing I saw that was FFVII related was Advent Children. I was really, really young when this happened. Maybe 3 or 4 years old? My older brothers were watching the DVD we had in the living room, and I just happened to be there (I remember liking the action scenes and trying to copy the characters by jumping all over the sofa—poorly attempting flips and stuff—only to hurt myself in the process actually. Yes, I did cry, lol). Anyways, I also saw the Cloud and Sephiroth fight! Although the strange thing is, I don't remember seeing Seph at all. Like, when I recollect my earliest memories/reactions of that movie, I only vividly remember seeing Cloud fighting (and feeling bad when he got stabbed lol), yet I cannot remember anything about seeing Sephiroth. I think the reason is that there was too much action going on for my young child mind, therefore Seph just kinda blended in with the environment, lol (his black & gray color palette combined with the gray skies, dark clouds, and the gray buildings/rubble). I really first saw Seph in the FF Dissidia games, also when I was really young. About 4, 5 or maybe 6 years old. I didn't have much thoughts for him at the time, though. He was just another character in the roster for me. (I did however thought he sounded funny whenever he died because unlike screaming/yelling or saying their last words in pain like the other characters, Sephiroth just calmly says "I'll fall into the shadows", lol)

9. if your f/o has been represented in more than one way (i.e. in a book AND a movie, in a movie and then recasted for a reboot later, etc.), which version of them is your favorite?

Sephiroth: He's been through plenty of different representations! In terms of personality, his Advent Children version is my favorite. Like, almost all of his lines are so iconic/memorable in this movie! ("Shall I give you despair?", "Tell me what you cherish most, give me the pleasure of taking it away." and lastly, "I will never be a memory.") But in terms of design, I enjoy his Crisis Core look the most. It's the design I use in all my drawings!

14. what’s your favorite outfit your f/o has ever worn?

Cloud: Same thing. So many different representations. His design in Advent Children is my favorite, but I like his personality in the original FFVII (and I guess the remake also) the most. In the original, he isn't as emo as in his later versions, although I don't hate him being emo at all! (I think people disliked him acting like this because it became his normal/base personality rather than just being his personality in Advent Children. After all, my poor boi was literally depressed during the time the movie takes place.) Anyways, yeah. I love his original personality. He's still very reserved and kinda stoic, but he can be pretty cocky sometimes!

Monokuma: The only thing to say about Monokuma is that his original english voice actor from the games is my favorite rather than his dubbed voice in the anime.

Seph: His normal outfit, if I'm honest. Like, everything about it is just so good and perfect for him. Although his KH outfit is definitely a close second because of how dark/stereotypically villainous it is!

Cloud: His Advent Children outfit! I know I've said this before, but I love it!

Monokuma: This bear wears so many different clothes/outfits depending on the occasion, execution, or if he's just feeling extra! But honestly? I like Monokuma's normal look the most. He's cute enough on his own.

Stubbs: The only real outfit change Stubbs gets is his player two variant, which you've seen! As great as Stubbs looks in black, I think I like both equally!

☁: Alright, I'll answer for this one.

4. who was your first favorite character when you initially got into your f/o’s source content? was it your f/o from the very beginning?

Seph & Cloud: So, it wasn't until Seph joined smashed where I really got into FFVII. At that point, Cloud and Sephiroth were my favorite characters. However, before I got into FFVII, I think Cloud was the only character I kinda liked.

Monokuma: When I got somewhat into Danganronpa, Monokuma was my favorite. However, during the time where I was still just watching my brother play through the first game, I did kinda like Byakuya the most—out of the students—at first.

Stubbs: Oh, yeah. Stubbs was, and still is, the man.

5. if your f/o is from a series, were you into the source content from the start or did you come in later? if you came in later, what was the most recent release when you got into it?

Seph & Cloud: Came in way later. The first thing I had ever played which was FFVII related was the Remake. Even then, that's been out for a while.

Monokuma: I came in much later also. I'm pretty sure the 2nd game was already out for a while.

Stubbs: Also came in way later. The original game came out on the Xbox in 2005! I was only about 3 years old! It wasn't until the re-release on PS4 last year that I finally played it.

6. if your f/o is from a series, which episode/movie/game/book of their source content is your favorite?

Seph & Cloud: I know I say Advent Children a lot for these two, but they're both just so good in it.

Monokuma: I know I've mentioned that his voice from the games is my favorite, but I still really, really liked him in the anime because of how funny he is visually! Like, man, they did a good job with animating him doing all these wacky stuff which couldn't have been done in the original games.

11. do your friends/family know that you’re into the content that your f/o comes from or do you keep this interest to yourself?

Okay, just as a heads up, I'm about to go a little heavy with the details here.

Seph & Cloud: My family all know just how much I love these two. Even my mother! She is still somewhat learning their names, but she is able to recognize them sometimes! Although she once thought that Naruto was Cloud, lol! (We were in some Japanese store in a mall when there was a Naruto keychain, and she called me over, saying "look, it's that character you like") She's gotten better, though. More recently, we were in a bookstore when she saw Cloud on the cover of a FFVII Remake Ultimania book. She again called me over saying "it's that blondie you like", lol. We didn't end up getting the book, but I was still very happy that she recognized Cloud.

So my older brother actually knows that I'm in love with Sephiroth, but I don't really talk about my feelings for Seph with him anymore. He's not homophobic at all, but I myself have always been sorta struggling with feeling normal about my sexuality. Sometimes I feel confident, but occasionally I feel embarrassed about it. It comes and goes, and as of right now I'm in my more self-conscious phase. But what really sucks though, is that he doesn't know that I selfship with Seph. And I don't think I'll be telling him any time soon. Like, he has two "waifus" of his own (Aqua from KH, and Lucina from FE), but he's kinda a jerk towards people who make OCs/self inserts. Him and my oldest brother are both the type of people to call us "cringe" and all that. It's honestly because of them that I still sometimes cringe at myself when self shipping, even though I know I shouldn't. (Sorry for all the negativity! Aside from all that, my brothers are usually nice people.)

Monokuma: Oh, yeah. My family knows I love this bear. I have a Monokuma plushie which I take with me all over the house. My mother jokingly hates him because of how evil he is, lol. Like, she's always playfully threatening to slap/throw him (the plushie) away, lol. (I'm serious when I say "playfully" because we're both smiling and laughing whenever this happens.)

Stubbs: Yep. Everyone knows I love Stubbs. Especially after cosplaying as him throughout October and Halloween. I even had to tell my older brother—the one who knows I'm in love with Seph—that I love Stubbs non-romantically just to clear things up, lol.

13. do you have a favorite line your f/o has ever said?

Okay so with the term "line", I think of "voice line" rather than just a quote. So with that, I'll pick something which they've actually said, fully voiced.

Seph: "Tell me what you cherish most. Give me the pleasure of taking it away." -video

Oh, man. When I rewatched his Advent Children fight with Cloud a day or two after he joined Smash Bros, my heart swooned so hard, lol. I was quite literally just like that one Norman meme:

Okay, so Cloud has A LOT of cooler/more iconic lines than this, believe me. But there's just something I really like about this one line from KH1. To me, it's like a less rude version of his catchphrase "not interested". Therefore, I imagine him saying this more with me. Meanwhile, for anyone else, he'll gladly just say "not interested" as blunt and rudely as usual. Idk, it's just a small detail I love to imagine for myself.

Monokuma: I hope this counts since I'm picking one of his laughing voice lines. Not his iconic "puhuhu" laugh, though. I'm picking the one where he just laughs maniacally! The one where he goes more "bwahaha", lol. Out of all his laughs, that one in particular is my favorite.

Stubbs: Since he rarely talks, I'm picking the brains speech he gives in a somewhat secret cutscene in the game. He literally rallys up a group of zombies and starts giving a speech before they attack a farmhouse. Throughout the entire speech, he's just saying "brains" though, lol. He says it with different emphasis each time, as if he were actually talking, and it's all just so silly/funny to me.

This was actually kinda hard for me to do. I've always struggled with keeping things short, ever since early elementary school, lol.

The dynamic between Seph and I is actually pretty weird and complex in my FFVII fanfic. So if it's alright, I decided to write the main-ish dynamic of my K H au!

Understanding love for each other despite seemingly having no hearts.

A supposed "no-heart" nobody, an embodiment of darkness, and a "rebel without a pulse"? These are the last things one would expect to love each other, lol. The funny thing is that Stubbs' "Rebel Without a Pulse" title literally means that his heart is dead/doesn't work anymore, yet he's instantly like the first one to understand/recognize his own love and feelings like a normal person.

buttercup - give an incorrect quote of you and your f/o.

Okay. I have, like, a HUGE list of incorrect quotes for me and the guys. Since it was so hard to pick just one, I instead picked four where each one sort of centers around one of my faves.

Sephiroth — Awkward

Andy: That’s it. You’re defeated.

Sephiroth: You forgot my secret weapon.

Sephiroth: The meteor will only be stopped if you kiss me.

Cloud & Andy: ……

Cloud: You know, you could have just asked him out instead of trying to destroy the planet–

(I actually still have an incomplete comic of this particular quote. Don't know why I never finished it. I just didn't, lol. Probably should one day, tho.)

(Despite all odds, I actually imagine Cloud and Stubbs to be close buds. But this one really does make me laugh, especially after watching the video it's from.)

marigold - what is your favorite picture, video, and/or moment of your f/o?

Picking a favorite picture or video was admittedly too hard for me. So, I'll settle on just picking favorite moments for everyone.

Seph: Favorite moments? Seeing him in action. In other words, either the CGI cutscene fight in Crisis Core, or his fight with Cloud in Advent Children.

Cloud: One of my favorite moments of Cloud would have to be when he first rides a motorcycle in the original game and escapes Midgar. It was cool in the remake also, but something about the original was just more hype in my opinion.

Monokuma: Favorite moments for him definitely include any of his executions!

Stubbs: I love a lot of moments from him, but I think my favorite moment from Stubbs is his game's trailer honestly. The scene of him scaring the couple, eating the girl's brains, and stealing the car is just such a favorite of mine.

orchid - is your f/o also your favorite character from their respective media, or is it someone else?

For Everyone: Yes, all of them are indeed my favorite characters from their respective media. If someone were to ask me "who's your favorite FFVII character" I would shamelessly answer "Cloud & Sephiroth" like the most basic normie ever, lol. But I do really like Tifa, though. (This might sound kinda weird since I never talk about her, but I actually kinda see her as like a distant family friend, but not straight up exactly like an F/O. Here's the thing: I don't always imagine Cloud and Stubbs with me in my house and when I don't, I imagine that they're over at Tifa's place. Furthermore, I also ship Cloud and Tifa together romantically.) Anyways, the same goes for Danganronpa. Monokuma's my fave—a little basic, I know—which is kind of a shame since I'm sure so much thought goes into the other characters and their personalities/talents. As for Stubbs, he really is the best character from his game. Don't get me wrong, there's other characters I like (Stubbs' lover Maggie, Guidebot, Pumpbot, and all the other robots), but Stubbs himself is just too good, I love him.

2. Tells good jokes?

Out of all of us, I think the guy with the best jokes is Monokuma. Not only does he tell funny ones, but he can and will use visuals to go along with his jokes. (Why did the chicken cross the road? Before answering in some twisted way, Monokuma WILL pull out a chicken from seemingly nowhere.)

3. Tells bad puns?

11. Loses their shit at Spirit Halloween?

I think this goes to Monokuma and me. I love horror stuff, and Monokuma just likes getting as much festive as he can whenever possible, regardless of the holiday.

However, I would also like to write down silly scenarios for everyone being at Spirit Halloween just like you did in your answer!

Me: Geeking out whenever I see costumes/merchandise for certain horror movie characters. (Michael Myers, Ghostface, etc.)

Cloud: Isn't really interested in anything. Decides that the least he'll do is buy some horror movies to watch with us later. (He usually won't admit it, but he actually likes watching/reading horror stuff.)

Monokuma: Buys all the Halloween decorations! He wants to decorate not just outside our house, but inside also! He's really good at it, too.

Stubbs: Is the one who drove us to the store in the first place. Once inside, he's minding his own business—assuming he's not hungry—until people start to crowd up around him, all admiring his "costume". Someone grabs his face, saying how "realistic" the mask is. With that, Stubbs bites them, crowd runs away in a panic, and we're then forced to leave before the police show up, lol.

12. Will eat anything?

This one's best for Monokuma and Stubbs. Although Stubbs strongly prefers brains, he still eats normal stuff here and there. Monokuma? I know he'll eat anything and everything if he really wanted to. So between those two, I give this one to Monokuma.

22. Is most likely to get into a fight, who holds the other back when they try to get into a fight, and who holds the other’s DRINK when they try to get into a fight?

This one's tough! Honestly all four of us could get into a fight depending on the circumstances. I think that Monokuma normally wouldn't get into a fight himself and that he'd somehow start fights between other people instead! (He'd be laughing the entire time, too.) Cloud and Stubbs would most likely be minding their own business until someone else starts something, and they're now defending themselves (assuming Stubbs wasn't hungry in the first place, because if he's hungry, then he's the one who's gonna start some trouble first, lol). Rather than holding them back, I'd be cheering them both on. In fact, I'd also hold both of their drinks too while I'm at it.

Spice: What smells and tastes do you associate with this F/O?

Okay, so the only one I was able to associate any smells and tastes with was Stubbs. I associate him with a musty, coffee-like smell. The reason why is because I've actually been dressing up as Stubbs all throughout October whenever I'm inside my house, and a part of my costume is a fake cigarette. Therefore, whenever I hold it close to my face, it smells like my coffee breath. (I'm sorry if this sounds gross, but it doesn't smell bad. It actually smells kinda good, I swear!)

Pumpkin: How much trouble do you and F/O get into together? Whose idea was it?

Okay, if anyone's gonna get me into lots of trouble, it's gonna be Monokuma and Stubbs. With both, it's definitely gonna be their idea in the first place. With Monokuma, I imagine him giving me an extreme solution to a small problem. Like giving me a flamethrower when all I needed was a small candle, or something. With Stubbs, I imagine him constantly wanting me to go out and cause some trouble with him, always offering me a brain or two (which I almost always politely refuse).

Cinnamon: What are three of your favorite things about your F/O?

Like last time, I'll list one favorite thing for each one of them!

Cloud: His outfit from the Advent Children movie.

I know some people don't like/hate it, but it's my personal favorite outfit of his. I just love the dark color and coat-like attributes.

Monokuma: A favorite thing about Monokuma is simply how adorable he is.

He's just so cute and squishy looking! I love hugging the plushie I have of him.

Stubbs: His dancing!

I love the Cop Rock level in the game because it is just so freaking ridiculous and I love Stubbs' funny dance moves.

Cozy: Tell us about a time your F/O was there for you/your S/I when you really needed it.

I don't know if this counts but in a dream, Stubbs was there for me because in the dream, I was getting attacked by Freddy Krueger of all people (you know, the guy who kills people in their dreams. It's funny because I actually love those movies, lol). Anyways, I was under attack—getting sliced by that glove really hurt, despite being a dream—when Stubbs came out of nowhere and saved me! He even ate Freddy's brain. Seeing that was pretty funny, despite how gruesome it was. Unfortunately, I woke up before I could thank Stubbs properly, but oh man did I feel good that morning.

First Frost: Is your F/O more strategic or impulsive?

So, with Cloud I think it depends. I don't really see him as the planning/strategic type, but he's certainly not dumb in battle either. He instead picks up things rather quickly. With Monokuma, he's a perfect mixture of both! Very impulsive with things, but also very elaborate and absolutely extra. With Stubbs, he's definitely way more on the impulsive side, although he can be strategic sometimes. Once, he was able to cleverly free himself after being caught by the police!

Cinnamon: What are three of your favorite things about your F/O?

Okay, I'll do one for all three of them.

Cloud: How he fights in battle, man! Some people didn't like it, but I liked the way he takes his sword apart in advent children. Seeing Cloud in action is great. The fight between him and Sephiroth is the best part of that movie.

Monokuma: He's so funny! Practically everything that comes out of his mouth is great. Also, dude's freaking adorable.

Stubbs: I love how Stubbs can go from being a cool guy to being an absolute goofball (being goofy is way more common tho). One second he's driving away from an explosion like a badass, the next he's bouncing in place because he has to use the bathroom really badly, lol.

Harvest Moon: What’s a song you associate with your platonic F/O?

Cloud - Anxious Heart: As far as I know, Cloud doesn't have an actual theme like the other characters in VII. That's why I associate Anxious Heart greatly with him because it plays in his hometown, and I think the title and overall tone of the song just fits him. (It's also what inspired our ship name.)

Monokuma - His Theme Piano Ver.: Nothing fits him more than his theme song! However, I am a big fan of this particular piano version of it. It's so calming. For such a chaotic character, I really enjoy imagining us chilling and relaxing together. I believe this song captures that feeling, you know? Absolute props to the person that made it.

Stubbs - My Boyfriend's Back: This is one of the many songs that plays in Stubbs' game, and I associate this one with him the most. The song itself is great, but the lyrics are perfect since Stubbs is back from the dead, and ready to get back with the girl he loves.

Scarecrow: What’s one of your favorite quotes from your F/O?

Cloud: "If everything's a dream, don't wake me."

⚪⚫: Aw, my stuffing feels warm and fuzzy now! Either way... My turn! My favorite memory was when Andy and I built a pillow fort together. He hadn't done that in a long time, so he got to revisit his childhood while also having a great bonding moment with yours truly!

🎥 When and how did you get into your f/o’s source?

For good ol' Stubby boy the answer is just so silly, man. It started early in Sept this year. I just happened to walk into my brother's room right after he finished the game and he just happened to be at the main menu and I just happened to see the two player option. I wanted to pass the time since we were waiting for my other bro to show up bc we were gonna watch a movie very soon together so I basically told my bro "oh this game has co-op? Let's check it out real quick bc why not?" Next thing I know I'm having so much dumb fun and I'm already growing attached to this funny zombie and really wanted to see what would happen to him next in the story, lol. If I came in a minute or two later, my brother would have closed the game and probably never play it again and I would've never given it a shot.

☀️ What would you want to introduce your f/o to?

For Monokuma, I'd introduce him to my favorite band, Circus Contraption! They've got fantastic wacky/spooky songs that I'd think both of us would be able to enjoy together!

🛍 What kinds of things do you like to imagine you and your f/o doing together in this universe?

For Cloud I actually imagine him as my roommate so I imagine us just chilling out together at my house, doing fun stuff like watching videos/movies. Also playing video games, particularly ssbu and dissidia nt since there's teammates in that game. (Additionally I imagine him getting all annoyed when Sephiroth and I act all lovey dovey together, lol).

📝 Does your s/i’s presence in the source change your f/o’s story, and if so, how?

For Cloud, not really. So my self insert was with Cloud in shinra together as infantrymen during crisis core. During the main story, he's now a member of the turks and I basically wrote that he helped Cloud out secretly while still working for shinra. Other than that, without regarding Seph, the main story barely changes. (I also didn't have my self insert return Sephiroth's feelings for him just yet. In fact, he and Cloud never even put two and two together and figured out Sephiroth loved my self insert until around after advent children.) For the other two, I haven't wrote about my self insert being with them in their games, but I doubt their stories would change like crazy also.

🕰 How quickly did you become friends?

I'll be honest, for all of them, we became friends pretty quickly, lol. With Monokuma it happened very quickly after watching my bro finish the first dr game and after he bought me a plushie of him. With Cloud it happened less than a month after Seph made it into smash because I started playing the vii remake and yeah. I found him very relatable and awesome. With Stubbs, you already know based on my first answer. :)

🥧 How did your s/i meet your f/o?

Like I said with Cloud, I wrote that they were both in shinra together during the events of cc. It was at this time that they met and became close, being friends ever since despite Cloud's new distant personality after cc. With Monokuma, I unfortunately am no expert on dr's story and haven't written in my self insert, but I am at least very familiar with the main events of the first game so I just like to imagine that my self insert would be the only person in the school to find him funny/cute, and we'd bond over that I guess idk, lol (all the other students would prob hate me lmao). With Stubbs, I'm actually working on a comic right now on how I brought him into our house, and it should be pretty funny. At least I hope so, but we'll see once I finish it. :P

✉️ If you could say one thing to your f/o what would it be?

I have only one thing to say to Stubbs: "Your necktie isn't ugly. It's awesome. 👍" (It's a running joke in the game that everyone finds his necktie ugly, lol).
