Perhaps, that is why it has been so tremendously easy for the Folk to strike bargains to encapture and ensorcel humans in the past; all they ever longed for was money and power ― nothing a mere trinket of glamour cannot solve, nothing that requires genuine effort from the Fae's hand. And, as always, it is those relatively easy bargains that have stricken the most difficult and costly payment from the mortal's end. Debt is not something that someone as eternal and capricious as the Folk are, ever forget; at least, not when there is something to gain out of it, not when it is a card that can play in their favour. Be it in a week, or a month, or a year or ten, they always come to collect.

And collect he did. If this mortal girl had any sense, any wit in her, then she would have known it would be wise not to probe a beast with the sharp end of a stick, even if the said beast looks nothing anything but the part. More often than not, those are the most dangerous ones.
