What are Jon(athan) and Beth's songs?
(he still would prefer the pidgin pronunciation over Jon' :p)
Sweet Melodies || Accepting
Upwards of an hour and the entire time she is carved sandstone. A statue on her own plinth, unbothered by the smudge of his fingerprints in so far as his gaze can be felt. Try as hard as he might even the searing cold of his toneless questions do not pry under her skin and cryogenically cauterise her nerve endings. They both know it isn't like her, this malaise of spirit. More often than not she is a hair's breadth from actual violation of his austerity.
Perhaps he is grateful then for the reprieve.
Shadows are midway through their slow creep against the coffee shop's accent walls; woodlands, deer, black coffee, dark vanilla. Their passage only settles on her in semi-hindsight, and she rises. Still listless and silent. Looking anywhere but at him.
She gets all the way to the door, hand on it. Almost free. She stops until her breath fogs the glass. Drifts listless as foam crested waves, indecisive. She stops close enough that were he to flex his fingers he'd brush indecently against the inside of her knee. The insipid dark knit of the tights. She cuts herself on the sharpness of his periphery and haemorrhages syllables that finally get strung together.
"Here. For you."
She cannot control whether he listens to it or not.
She cannot decide which she'd prefer.

Echoes || Pink Floyd
And no one showed us to the land
And no one knows the where's or why's
But something stirs and something tries
And starts to climb toward the light
Strangers passing in the street
By chance, two separate glances meet
And I am you and what I see is me
And do I take you by the hand
And lead you through the land
And help me understand the best I can?

Enigma of the Absolute || Dead Can Dance
Saloman hung down her head
Laid bare her heart for the world to see.
She craved for intimacy.
Through darkened doors her aspect veiled with indecision, gazed out sea.
She craved lucidity.
Cast adrift from past relationships in her life,
Hoisted up the ideal. This was her saving grace.
Seas of rage that once assailed her concern for the truth
Had passed her by and left her high and dry in her saviours arms.
Across the sea lies the fountain of renewal,
Where you will find the whole cause of your loneliness
Can be measured in dreams that transcend all these lies
And I wish and I pray that there may come a day for a saviours arms.

Ryland Grace and Rocky are a perfect embodiment of my favorite Pink Floyd’s piece of lyrics from the song “Echoes”.
Strangers passing in the street
By chance, two separate glances meet
And I am you and what I see is me
And do I take you by the hand
And lead you through the land
And help me understand the best I can?
[MAJOR PHM SPOILERS INSIDE]
I know, Grace is a coward and an egoistic person but let’s be honest, he is just a normal average human being. On the contrary, Rocky is extremely brave. He’s been always ready to sacrifice his life for his people. I am not sure if this is a common Eridians' trait, or Rocky is a morally outstanding person, but this is just how it is.
And I absolutely love how Grace changes under Rocky’s influence. How he becomes a better version of himself. How Rocky assumes that Grace is as brave and selfless as himself, and Grace never disappoints him. I like how Rocky lovingly mocks Grace all the time but never really thinks bad about him. In fact, he praises Grace a lot, and Grace praises him, too.
And this is not all. If is was only about Grace’s transformation, it would have been pretty decent story. However, what makes “Project Hail Mary” an amazing story is the fact that the transformation is mutual. The moment Rocky realizes Grace will die much sooner that he thinks. The moment he wants to send Grace away, to make him go to Earth even if it means Erid will die. The moment Rocky realizes his friend's life is more important than anything else. This is a path towards one another. The bond stronger than anything else, stronger than the distance between them and even stronger than death.

Strangers passing in the street,
Незнакомые люди, идущие по улице,
By chance two separate glances meet
Два взгляда встречаются случайно
And I am you and what I see is me.
И я – это ты, а тот, кого я вижу – это я.
And do I take you by the hand
И я беру тебя за руку
And lead you through the land?
И веду по земле?
And help me understand the best I can.
И помоги мне лучше понять себя

Stranger Passing In The Street
Red.
You were seeing red everywhere. The floor, the bathroom curtains, the mirror, even your face was dripping with red velvet blood.
You had no idea how it happened. You weren't injured, but you had a pain in the back of your neck, almost as if telling you that you ain't dreaming.
But in the blink of an eye, everything was gone. The blood that was once scattered all over your [S/C] was gone.
You didn't know what happened in those seconds but decided to blame it in your imagination, not wanting to think that you needed to go talk to a therapist or anything about what just happened.
"I will literally kill myself if this house is hunted." You murmured under your breath, not wanting Anastasia, the head maid, to hear you.
You decided to go to your room, practice guitar and head out of the house, not wanting to bear with the dark thought of blood over the bathroom's white paint.
You sat by the window of your room, leaving it open to get some fresh air, and started playing Echoes, by Pink Floyd.
The song was a favorite of your parents, and you, being you, loved the song as well due to how similar you were to your parents. As a matter of fact, it was them who taught you so many things.
"Overhead the albatross, hang motionless upon the air,
"And deep beneath the rolling waves, in labyrinths of coral caves,
"The echo of a distant time, comes willowing across the land,
"And everything is green submarine."
Your fingers moved across the string smoothly, creating a legato sound.
"And no one showed us to the land, and no one knows the where's or why's,
"But something stirs and someone tries, and starts to climb towards the light."
You knew that with your window open, people could hear you playing, but you could care less.
Your favorite part was yet to come anyways.
"Strangers passing in the street, by chance two separate glances meet,
"And I am you, and what I see is me.
"Do I take you by the hand?
"And lead you through the land?
"And help me understand the best I can?"
"No one calls us to move on, and no one forces down our eyes,
"And no one speaks, and no one tries,
"And no one flies around the sun."
You knew your father would be proud of you for playing 23 damn minutes without bleeding fingers.
"Cloudless everyday you fall, upon my waking eyes,
"Inviting and inciting me to rise."
"And through the window in the wall, come streaming in on sunlight wings,
"A million bright ambassadors of morning."
"No one sings me lullabies, and no one makes me close my eyes,
"And so I threw the windows wide, callin' you across the sky."
Your fingers came to a stop once the song was done, hurting from pressing down on the strings.
You looked out the window, and what you saw made you stop thinking.
Vance Hopper was sitting just outside of your home, chilling as if I wasn't a creep move to watch someone in their home.
Neither of you said anything at all, you simply closed your window and decided to head out the main door.
Once you were out of the house, you saw that Hopper was no longer there.
"Weird. He better not have gotten kidnapped in such a short amount of time" You joked around.
You decided to head to the Grab-N-Go before heading out to see Gabby to play at the arcade.
Once you entered, you saw that Hopper was already playing his little game.
'Just grab your shit and go, stop staring.' You thought to yourself.
"Hey, you got a phone here?" You asked the cashier.
"Yeah, but you will have to pay to use it." Fucker.
You pulled out a dollar bill, telling him to keep the change and called Gabby right away before he could have a chat with you.
"This is Gabby speaking." You heard her say at the end of the line.
"Gabby, you ready yet? I'm impatient." You scolded her.
You believed she snapped her fingers by the sound of it, "Oh yeah! Heading out right now, where are you?"
"Grab-N-Go."
"For what? To see Hopper?" You felt her smirk through the phone.
"Ew, no way!" You were cut short by the cashier.
"Hey, hurry up, I don't wanna hear you ramble." He said rudely.
"Shut it, I don't think you remember but I'm basically your pay, so you either shut your trap up before I sew it shut." You pointed your finger at him while still on call.
"Cashier?" Asked Gabby, to which you responded with a hum.
"Well, I'm heading out of the house right now, I'll see you at the Grab-N-Go." She said.
You gave the phone to the cashier and gave him a bad look, almost as if a warning to not say anything.
You turned around, and met with the eyes of the one and only, Vance, fucking, Hopper.
"Watching me again like the creep you are?" You questioned.
He shrugged, "No idea what you are talking about, [L/N]."
"Don't give me that do goody good bull shit, you were watching me at my own home."
"Not really, more like listening, since your dumbass decided to play guitar next to an open window for the world to hear how bad you play."
"Bad?!" You basically yelled, "I don't think you remember, but I played for almost 25 minutes! And guess who stayed behind to listen."
You made eye contact with him, "You."
"I simply wanted to see how bad you are at the guitar."
You clicked your tongue.
"Please, I bet I'm better at guitar than you, thank you very much."
"Whatever makes you sleep at night." He laughed lightly.
"Oh, I sleep very well at night, it's you who should be worried about not sleeping."
"[Y/N]! Let's go, I'm bored to hear y'all fight like an old married couple!" Said Gabby, standing in front of the door
You rolled her eyes at her and held eye contact with Hopper once more before leaving for the arcade.
