Not so many things sadden me these days but the loss of Herr Professor will hurt until I die for the last time.

Kurt Wagner walks into the clear, moss and branches, the scent of forest… He stands on a large root and waits.

The Five have finished already, the egg already broke and the it’s a matter of time for this mutant comes alive again.

That man named Xavier is not The Professor anymore, he murdered him long ago and I was in denial so many years, why am I still loyal to him? Why am I still loyal to a dead man?

The body is alive, the person he was died long ago.

Like me.

We’re all dead in this place, many of us don’t know that yet.

The glow increases, so bright. Krakoa’s eyes reflecting on the empty shell and back. Those large red eyes shine in the golden light as the body crawls out of the cracked shape.

Of course, I wasn’t surprised when Charles said he kept copies of them in Cerebro and my vote was obviously override when I voted against bringing them back.

Why do I keep trying?

Forgive me God, I will drown tonight. I need yet another attempt to forget I died when Krakoa became alive.

Charles Xavier takes a step closer to the man that has become alive, and with arms wide open he speaks:

“Welcome to Krakoa my son. Welcome back Hank McCoy.”

earth-931 -- you may have noticed a new multiverse designation popping up on the main. this is earth-931: a special reality for the multiverse of miracles! earth-931 is primarily based on mutants and is set back in comic canon to a time before krakoa. there’s more flexibility for mutant characters here, and more possibilities for people to take mutant roles. a full breakdown of the reality will be coming shortly.

ic questionnaires -- our ic questionnaire has dropped early! although we usually wait for christmas, a recent influx of members has inspired us to release it sooner. we’re asking that members fill out the questionnaire and post them to their blogs. it can be found here!

multiple multiverse roles -- as it stands, we are capping it at two versions of the same character being eligible to be taken. that means there can be two wanda maximoffs of different realities, two tony starks, etc. outside of that may be too many of the same role running around. please check the ic page to see if the role you’re interested in is filled.

taking characters -- as it stands, we have no character limit. you are are free to take on whatever is sustainable for you. all we ask is that you hit activity each month, and roles who fail to will be unfollowed. please let us know if you need a hiatus.

if you ever decide to make a house of m explanation post…… i would be v interested. Bc while I consider myself pretty well informed on 616, and 100% agree w your opinion about shutting people up abt house of m, I’d rely rly love to see what you have to say

i don't think i have anything really ground breaking to say about HoM since this event came out over 15 years ago - what it did to the x-men, what it did to the avengers, to pietro's character, to wanda's character, plus all of the ableism and misogyny there, etc, etc, have been extensively covered by others, and i would really just be regurgitating those talking points again. i also don't have a huge desire to reread HoM to dig for panels to back up what i'm talking about so i'm sorry this response ended up very text heavy.

the main point i was trying to get at is that HoM is not about wanda. it's using her and her reality warping powers as a vehicle to create a new status quo for the marvel universe going forward: a different avengers roster and a little less than 200 of the mutant population left. she isn't even in most of the series! it's wolverine who is the pov character for a majority of the issues. i've seen many people talk about HoM as if this is wanda's "big moment", when it absolutely is not. its the entire super hero population coming to murder her, and her family, that has been through so much heartbreak already, trying to do what they can to save her. wanda didn't rewrite reality "just because" which was another thing my post was about.

Big Event Comics will sell. big super hero fights will sell. character deaths will sell. it's similar to civil war in that regard, which came shortly after HoM, where it didn't have much to say about the questions it was bringing up, and kind of ends as more of a way to make bucky the new captain america for a few years, tony the new director of shield for even less, and for the spider-marriage to be dissolved. as of 2022, only the spider-marriage is still undone.

the consequences of the decimation have also now finally (FINALLY) been laid to rest with the new krakoa era's resurrection protocols for the mutants, and even wanda herself creating the waiting room at the end of trial of magneto with the help of legion and proteus. and before that, wanda with phoenix force powered hope summers restored the mutant population in AvX. and even before THAT, wanda alone began to restore the x-gene in mutants with her powers back in children's crusade. so its completely ludicrous to pretend like ToM was the first she had "made up" for the decimation.

and, honestly, no one really likes HoM! there are a number of good comics or runs for the x-men post-decimation, but i've never met someone who actually reads comics and says that they like HoM and most of what came after for the mutants. so its insane to me to see mcu stans who read (skimmed) a wikipedia page, and apparently even the people working for disney/marvel studios, completely misinterpret what this event is: a way to dwindle down the mutant population and create new stories from that. (never mind the legacy virus and the destruction of genosha that had very recently happened at that point, but whatever, marvel. whatever!)

house of m is not a story arc like dark phoenix or the winter soldier. house of m is an event comic. people not understanding the difference is the problem. one is more character driven and one is more sales driven. an event comic is to create a new status quo and is not always written with characters' integrity in mind. it is a way to get from point A to point B while using whatever characters writers/editorial need to get there even if it doesn't completely make sense or compromises their integrity (see both civil wars). a majority of the comics that follow up on or are even part of The Event Comic are trying to get back to that initial point A status quo. stan lee called this the illusion of change. it just took a little longer in this instance to get back to that initial larger mutant population.

there's some potential there for HoM to be more character driven, and to tie it back to prior issues (like wanda's strong reactions to carol danvers leaving the avengers in annual #10 and vol. 3 #7), but that's obviously not how things shook out. i will admit i think there are even a few good scenes in HoM, but unfortunately all of them get drowned out by both the aftermath of the decimation, and the later retcon of the twins not being mutants and not magneto's children.

and a television series or a movie using elements of HoM isn't inherently bad. if they tweaked a lot of things, it could actually be about wanda, her struggles, and her family and actually SAY SOMETHING about the character. but the mcu is an absolute nightmare place and the character in this massive movie/tv franchise is wanda maximoff in name only. i'm certain multiverse of madness will continue to drag her comic counterpart’s name through the mud. there is nothing new or powerful about a selfish white woman not learning anything after holding an entire town hostage and continuing to rip apart reality to get what she wants.

616 wanda is a character i love very dearly, so i feel strongly about what people say about her and how a character using her name will be portrayed in a big blockbuster movie that general audiences who don't read comics will see. 616 wanda is not a villain or a bad person. she isn't! she doesn't deserve all of the bad things that have happened to her. she is good, she is a hero, she has many people who love her both in universe and in the real world, and she does everything she can to make up for any hurt she has caused others. we can move on now, marvel studios.

jean was the only girl on the x-men for a while and she actually enjoyed it. she was the first recruit but the last to join the team.

jean had a brief thing with warren when she thought scott wasn’t into her but realized she and warren worked better as friends. hank was also into her.

for some reason, all males are into her. it’s one of earth’s unexplained phenomenas.

the first time she experienced her powers was when she was ten and jean felt her friend annie die. that was the first time she felt death and it was the one that scared her the most, leaving her less afraid of dying

jean would ask someone to kill her if she thought the phoenix was going to take over. when the phoenix did take over she was killed, only to be resurrected.

when the institute was getting crowded, jean had a shining image she wanted to keep up and be the perfect mutant and student since she had always been so capable. this fantasy has long been forgotten and jean is embarrassed how far she’s fallen at times

while jean originally tried to stay out of the minds at others she now finds herself reading them more freely

she’s a firm believer that the third movies in a trilogy are trash

she does archery as a way to relax but only at the institute

jean is, of course, a class five omega mutant and there is no current way to determine why or how the phoenix chose her

she never grew out of her nightmares which shake buildings and levitate objects around her

charles death had a huge impact on her and jean tried to fill his shoes in some senses though she knew she’d fail. now he’s back but their relationship is more tense.

leading x-men: blue just felt natural and it’s allowed her to help mutants even outside the school

she doesn’t hate emma. maybe older jean did but this jean has nothing against her expect the fact that she makes jean feel inferior / young

she was drawn once to older scott is hot but he turned her down -- as he should have

at first she was scared of her older self but now she loves jean like a sister even though she isn’t sure how she became so intelligent and composed

she hasn’t quite picked up the whole forgiveness thing yet

These giant flowers surrounding them, beautiful, ethereal and they're enough transparent to see these entangled bodies moving in unison and, their noises of ecstasy could be heard from a distance.

Of all the properties he owns, this one has the best view however he wasn’t precisely admiring the blue of the sea neither the clear of the sky.

Akihiro shows up and interrupts. Kurt doesn’t even bother to ask how did he enter to the property.

He stretches his legs lazily and looks at him.

Why does this have to be like this? Kurt knows Akihiro is using him, he knows he has him wrapped around his finger.

How many years since he talked to Logan? Why he can’t stop thinking of him? He knows Logan doesn’t care anymore. So much for ‘radiant with open arms.’

Kurt removes his sunglasses, shifts to his side and props his weight on his elbow.

He was half asleep when that voice interrupted; mind him, he found a way to relax after months of struggle.

“Um, sure.” He moves onto his stomach and looks up. He puts his sunglasses back on and stretches comfortably; those sunglasses are the only thing he’s wearing at the moment but he’s lost the little shame he had long long ago…

Although, he wasn’t expecting anyone to come.

“Did you swim all the way here?” He raises an eyebrow as he looks at him under the sunglasses.

There are so many ways of transportation in Krakoa however, Kurt didn’t hear anything besides the sea… And, he’s further away from the shore.

Not like he is bothered when other people is around but he wanted to be alone and he chose so by teleporting to this platform made of wood, anchored to the sea floor; big enough to host a dozen people but he is there alone with nothing but a mattress, a couple of towels, books, his phone, a portable speaker, an umbrella and -believe it or not- snacks and zero alcohol.

Kurt raises his head and looks at Akihiro then, he props his elbows up to rest his weight on them and raises a leg.

“Are you really asking me that?” He chortles.

He doesn’t mind being asked but this time, the man that hates Logan the most -his son- is asking and, Kurt had understood Akihiro didn’t want to hear about his father at all.

He doesn’t blame him though, Kurt is better the days he doesn’t remember Azazel exists.

“I guess…” He shifts to his side to look at Daken better. “It was a better agreement than pinning on each other while being jealous or feeling rejected when it was two instead of three.” He ponders.

“It worked for a while, both Ororo and Logan moved to greener pastures and I’m fine with that. I haven’t seen them neither fucked any of them in a while.”

As lonely as that makes him feel, Kurt is actually alright with that; he accepted it. Ororo and Logan aren’t interested on him that way anymore but…

Who knows what will happen in the future? Death is irrelevant in Krakoa and old feelings could resurface.

Or maybe that’s what Kurt says to himself, to make himself feel better, whatever.

For now, his bed is always warm with company of so many bodies and among them a constant presence: Daken himself.

Kurt knows he likes his company more than he should; it will not end but he can’t help it. His feelings are his own anyway and he’ll feel as shit or as happy as he’d want to be and if not, there are always ways.

He stops on his tracks and turns over. The corner of his lips quirks, tugs up; until his lips part to show a glimpse of his fangs.

And, he isn’t that high anymore, neither drunk. He’s in between; he is at that moment of clarity where the effect has worn out enough to start to sober up.

“Ja, I do.”

He pushes his hair off his face, the breeze is messing everything up; despite the temperature dropping, outside is still enough nice to enjoy the night, butt naked. The party downstairs isn’t loud enough anymore, many were gone or perhaps they have passed out already, is late.

“I know I’m obvious,” he wraps his arms around himself. “You just want me to say it, you want to hear it from my lips.” He looks into Daken’s eyes. Kurt knows he has him wrapped around his -dick- finger and Kurt is an idiot, he’s let himself go there, sunk deep and to fuck everything up.

“I don’t give a fuck if you don’t love me back though.” He adds.

He might be sobering already but that little buzz he still has going on helps him to be blunt and as vulgar as he wouldn’t allow himself if he was fully sober.

“I’ll probably love you until I die.” He walks closer but he stops before getting to the couch where Akihiro is resting; instead, he dives into the large jacuzzi that’s at that balcony.

“Then, when the egg cracks und Professor Wack reinstalls my mind, I will love you again.” He reaches for a bottle of the most expensive champagne and drinks half of it in one go.

“I’m going to ask them not to bring me back the next time.” He adds with a broad smile then, he licks the mouth of the bottle, swirling his tongue around it, obscenely.

And he sinks into the water until he disappears…

That’s all he wants to do.

To stop existing.
