Im Cheon-sa was born to single mother, Na-yeong. He has a unique name that means ‘angel’ but it’s one he grows up to hate. His mother is one of those pushy “Stage Moms.” who comes from a wealthy family — her parents give her anything she wants. From the moment Cheon-sa started walking, she enrolled him in ice skating lessons. She also made sure he attended a private school so that he could get time off whenever he needed — she made sure he had enough time to properly train to become a figure skater. Despite his mother pushing him into it, Cheon-sa had a lot of passion for ice skating. He had big dreams of one day being an Olympic gold medalist.
Cheon-sa's training years were tough due because of how intense his schedule was, but also because of how overbearing his mother was. She always inserted herself into his activities and kept tabs on other kids training. She told Cheon-sa that he shouldn’t make friends with any of them because they were his competition. Because of this, Cheon-sa had a lonely childhood and adolescent years.
Cheon-sa got an amazing coach called Vidal Clemente when he was nineteen who, while strict, was known for producing results. Cheon-sa's mother and him don't see eye-to-eye. He's actually threatened to kick her out on many occasions and even once locked her out of the ice rink.
Over the next couple of years, as Cheon-sa continued to train, he grew up to be quite a volatile young man, no doubt due to his mother's constant influence over him. He's able to channel that passion and unpredictability into his skating, which causes him to win many competitions early in his career. He even sometimes purposefully lets himself be disqualified from certain competitions so that he can show off his skills by doing "illegal" moves. Cheon-sa reasons that it's more impressive to show that he's capable of doing such insane moves and gaining fans that way than to win every single competition. As long as he makes it to the Olympics, he doesn't really care.
Cheon-sa and Vidal are quite unhinged together. While other skaters might have tense moments with their coaches here and there, these two are wild. It isn't uncommon for people to wonder if they should call the cops on the two because of some of their fights, but most of the other competitors and coaches are too afraid to do so. This is just how they communicate, though, and Cheon-sa actually feels way more at ease this way than being forced to keep his mouth shut.
At some point, this strange relationship of theirs turned sexual after one of their big fights. It wasn't something either of them planned, but one minute they were at each other's throats and the next they were in the back of the coach's car. This, of course, is not professional and could completely ruin them both, but it's an easily kept secret since nobody would ever suspect it. Cheon-sa thinks it's amusing, figuring that it's a good way to get his energy out. Anyway, he isn't allowed to date and his coach is hot (and only, like, eight years older) so what is he supposed to do but climb him like a tree? Funnily enough, Cheon-sa doesn't label his sexuality — he always said he'll do whatever he wants and it just so happens that was his coach ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyway, enough of all that, Cheon-sa made it to the Olympics when he was twenty-two and things are looking great for him. Until it came time for his performance. Over the years, he made quite a few enemies just from his general behavior — he is a bit of an asshole — and one of the parents of a fellow competitor took it upon themselves to wait until he was about to do a big jump. When he did, they flashed a light in his eyes from the stands, which threw him off balance. He crashed into the ice, landing on his head. This caused his Olympic dream to come to a swift end as he was rushed to the hospital. Cheon-sa was in a coma for two weeks but pulled through. Fortunately for him, he had no lasting damage and was expected to fully recover.
While he recovered, he heard about what happened and vowed to make a grand return to the Olympics in four years. He promised Vidal (who he was surprised still wanted him) that he would win the gold medal and would do so by landing a quadruple axel. However, during his recovery period, Cheon-sa also had time to reflect on himself as a person, realizing that perhaps he had to make some changes to himself. He promises to be less manipulative and act more maturely.
Tumblr media
With that plan in mind, he continues to work hard in training, hoping to achieve his dream.

pairing(s): Husband!Choi Seungcheol x afab!reader
genre: fluffy at the beginning and end, smut
warning(s): Bid dick!Cheol, PiV sex,unprotected sex (wrap before you tap,ladies and gents),degrading,praise,breeding,Oral (f!receiving),Seungcheol being a girl dad,
summary: your daughter's ask for another sibling and Seungcheol and you make their wish come true
word count: 3k (LORD-)
A/N: so I kinda went a little over ther board with this one but anyhoo enjoy this Cheo, brainstro of mine and make sure (if you'd like to) like, comment and reblog. make sure you eat, drink and rest, loves Yaha mwah xoxo
You and Seungcheol had the cutest family in the world as some would say. Two wonderful 4-year-old daughters Darae and Cheon-sa, with your looks but Seungcheol’s pout. They were so adorable and had you,Seungcheol and the rest of seventeen wrapped around their little fingers.
Luckily tonight was yours and Seungcheol’s date night so the girls were taken to his mothers. So you sat in Darae’s and Cheon-sa’s shared room packing and playing with them. You helped burp a doll and also put them to sleep . you hear someone clear their throat and look up from the floor,Seungcheol walks in,the girls running to hug him shouting and squealing. His gummy smile and dimples show as he bends down to pick both of them up.
Their giggles fill the room and make your smile widen, standing up,brushing off your pants, you walk over to your husband and your children. Giving him a pat on the back as you leave the room,a small smirk on your lips. It was now his turn to be dragged to dolls play whilst you got the last of the girls’ things together for a couple nights to grandma’s house.
”Darae,Cheon-sa, c’mon time to go to grandma’s” like clockwork you hear the patter of their feet on the hardwood floors of the hallway running to you at the door. They had huge smiles on their faces, also carrying a stuffed animal each. They sit on the floor whilst they ‘help’ you put their shoes on. Darae says something unexpectedly ”Mama, daddy we want another sibling” your eyes nearly pop out of your head when she says that as they both clap their little hands in union.
Seungcheol just stares down at you with that all knowing smirk as you nod ”another? Well you'll have to wish very hard at grandmas to see if it can come true” your voice was soft as you were so close to them. You kiss their cheeks and forehead before standing up and kissing Seungcheol goodbye as he goes to take the children to his mothers house.
It was now your time to get ready for your date. You shower and take about  one and a half hours doing everything right to the T. Leaving the bathroom with a robe and a towel, drying your hair, you head to your shared bedroom and sit at the vanity. You start to blow dry your hair, knowing it would take a while. After around 30 minutes it had fully dried and you now were deciding if you should curl or straighten your hair. With 10 minutes of debate to curl your hair and pin it back whilst you do skincare and makeup.
Seungcheol came back and walked into the bedroom seeing you in just a robe doing your makeup.  He walks behind you and tilts your head backwards and leans down pressing a short kiss to your lips.
You continue on with your makeup, making it perfect whilst Seungcheol goes to get showered and dressed too. He walks into the bedroom, brown hair dripping and a towel wrapped lowly around his hips causing you to see his happy trail and V line.
You couldn't help but stare at your husband through the mirror of your vanity. ”stare much, sweets?” you lower your head, shit, you've been caught. But you couldn't help it, your husband was one fine motherfucker.
You shake your head and bite your lip and continue to do your makeup as he gets dressed in black dress pants, black button up and a black tie (yk what i'm on about) but he walks out with his shirt undone whilst you were trying to zip your dress on. Your dress was stunning. It was red, ironically Cheol’s favourite colour, a slit ran up the left leg to mid thigh and it was tight, making your body show off all those perfect curves of yours. For shoes you wore your Christian Louboutin red bottoms. A gift from Seungcheol because he missed you during one of his tours with SVT
”Cheol, could you zip me up,baby?” Seungcheol nods and zips your dress up,leaving a small kiss on the back of your neck before he turns you around and wraps his arms around your waist and leans in,kissing your lips leaving you breathless. He pulls away and smirks after seeing your face. He buttons up his shirt as you watch. You spray your perfume and you were done, grabbing your little purse and you walk out of your shared room.
Seungcheol joins you and wraps his arm around your waist, kissing the side of your neck lightly and leading you to the door ”lets go,yeah. We’ve got a reservation at 8, sweets” he leads you to his car and opens the passenger side door for you, you get in and he closes the door before walking around to the drivers side. God, he looked very hot right now.
He gets in and buckles up before turning on the engine and reversing from the drive and starts to drive to the restaurant. His hand stayed permanently on your thigh the drive there and when you got there he opened the passenger door and held your hand like the gentleman he is.
The restaurant itself is quite elegant, the walls and furniture are all carved from dark mahogany wood with brass decorations and accents. The lighting is soft and warm, with several candles lit on each table. The smell of fresh food cooking comes from the kitchen, and the air is infused with the scent of lavender and rose petals. The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure to cater to each customer's needs. The food is delicious and prepared with great care, showcasing the best in local delicacies and culinary arts.
One of the waiters took you over to the table and Seungcheol ordered some wine,he wouldn't drink much since he was still driving home later. 10 minutes later the waiter comes back with two wine glasses and the wine of Seungcheol’s choice. She leaves the table with a smile as Seungcheol pours the wine into the glasses before picking his up and waiting for you to do the same. A soft clink of the glasses before each of them take a sip of it,bodies relaxing as this indicates they were definitely kid-free now
They order their meals and eat with little stories of their girls, and family. You also mention that Darae wanted another sibling subtly and he raises his eyebrow and smirks slightly, nodding to the subtle comment. You finish your food and dessert and after Seungcheol pays the bill and buys another bottle of wine for the house, you get to driving home.
At home, it was peaceful, for once it wasn't a mess of girls' toys everywhere. It was quiet too,no screaming, screeching and crying for once. You slip off your heels whilst Seungcheol walks to the kitchen, pouring some wine into 2 wine glasses he got from the cupboard. He sees you walk to the kitchen island next to him and he smiles, kissing the crown of your head softly. ”hi sweets” he smiles, showing his cute dimples. You couldn't help but smile ”Hi Cheol” you reach to take a glass of wine, bringing it to your lips and sipping on it before it goes back onto the kitchen island.
Seungcheol grabs your hips, pulling you towards him. ”sweets? Dance with me please?” you nod as yours and Seungcheol’s wedding song plays softly through the speakers. You smile and think back to the wedding, the memory still so fresh in your mind as Seungcheol spins you carefully before kissing your lips tenderly.
You kiss back, your hands lace in his hair tugging ever so slightly, he lets out a low moan as you feel yourself becoming wetter with every move he makes. He pulls away, lips a little more red. ”fucking hell, c’mon sweets lets give them another,hm?” you knew it wasn't an actual question because he knew the answer already. You nod and lean in again, bringing his and your lips together into another kiss, this one longer, more passionate with a hint of need.
His hands wrap tightly around your waist pulling your body causing you to almost grind against him. You moan into the kiss as his tongue passes your lips. It swirls around yours as he occasionally sucked your tongue. You break the kiss for some air ”i want another” you say breathless, chest heaving ”give me another,Cheol please”  he nods and throws you over his shoulder, slapping your arse for good measure and walking to your shared room.
You bite your lip as you get to the room, the door is kicked open and you are thrown on the bed, you look so helpless,so needy, all for Seungcheol. He turns you over, zipping your dress down and taking it off you and throwing it somewhere in the room. He leaves you bare only in laced underwear.
Seungcheol kisses up your legs ghosting over your sex and continues his kisses up your body, slightly biting and sulking little marks everywhere.
He gets up from you and undoes his dress shirt, his muscles showing, it had you almost drooling. His happy trail makes him look hotter.
He kneels on the floor, grabbing your legs and pulling your hips to the end of the bed. Your cunt level to his face, an obvious wet spot takes up the middle of your underwear. Seungcheol licks his lips, he wants you so badly. His fingers long and thick hook around your underwear, his mind telling Jim just to rip them, but he couldn't. If he ripped that pair, that would mean he had ripped at least 6 pairs of your underwear in the last couple months.
He was nice enough tonight since he had bought you the pair for the date after all. So finally he pulls down your underwear, throwing them over his broad shoulder. He blows hot air onto your clit making you shiver and whimper slightly. He smirks again, standing up. You whine at the loss, wanting him to eat you out.
He laughs softly at how needy you have become. He reaches over to grab a pillow  giving you a soft peck on the side of your face as he does so. He taps your hips twice signalling you to lift them so he could place a pillow so he could eat you out better. ”hips, sweets, lift em’ for me” so you listen and lift them, the soft pillow slides under and you get comfortable . ”Why aren't you a good girl? Keep listening and I'll fill you sweets , so deep, make sure you will carry my child again.”
Another thing about Seungcheol is that he had mastered dirty talk to the T and it was perfect. The right amount of praise and degradation was mind-blowing. It got you off so well. He loved the way your body reacted to his voice, his touch. You didn't know but it made him all fuzzy brained, he truly loved you so so much and he was an acts of service guy so he'd fuck you any time anywhere.
He kneels back down in between your legs, hooking them over his shoulders, the pillow giving you extra leverage so your sex is closer to his mouth. ”c'mon sweets, pull me to where you need me so badly. Oh baby you're dripping” you take your shaking hands and lace them in his brown hair as his dark eyes stare up at you. You tug on his hair, pushing his lips to your clit making you moan in relief. He sucks at your bundle of nerves making your legs clench around his head. Seungcheol had always said that he would die a happy man if it was in between your thighs, fucking you with his tongue and his fingers.
He continues to suck at your clit, occasionally nipping at it making your hips jump as he smirks against your pussy. You tug on his hair letting the moans tumble from your mouth with no shame, you didn't have to be quiet plus Seungcheol liked your moans and whimpers,it showed him how you liked it. His tongue enters your heat quickly, licking all your juices making him moan lowly in delight as you get louder, coil in your stomach tightening every lick. You keep tugging at his hair, pushing him further into your sex, his nose hitting your clit beautifully. You back arches off the bed, toes curling as you moan out a mantra of just Seungcheol, his name rolling off your tongue as the coil is ready to snap. ”g-gonna cum, fuck… please,Cheol”  he hums in approveal as the coil snaps and your orgasm wracks through your body. But that doesn't stop Seungcheol, he keeps going, suckking and licking your release as he helps bring you back down. He carefully removes your thighs from his head as he kisses them gently, the aftershocks of your orgasm still running through your veins.
He loved you like this. All spread out on the bed, fucked out from only one orgasm. His smug look sits on his face as he knew he was the only one that could make you like this. He leans down and catches your lips in a messy makeout. Your hands go to his pants, trying to undo them whilst staying in the kiss. You undo them and tug them down, leaving Cheol to handle the rest as you break the kiss to breathe.
You lay back further on the bed as he rids himself of his dress pants and boxers, his cock hard and red tipped leaking with pre-cum. You spread your legs, your arousal dripping onto the pillow below. ”aw,poor sweets, so needy. You wanna be filled don't you? Stuffed full till you're pregnant with my kid again,hm?” All you could do is nod and mewl his name. That stupid smirk on his face again as he tugs at himself before lining his cock to your entrance. He teases you by only entering the tip making you clench around him ”Cheol, please” you beg for him just to take you but he continues to tease by only fucking you with his tip.
You sit up slightly and hook your arms around his neck pulling him closer to you as you leave small pecks around his neck and jawline. You roll your hips as he pushes in further bottoming out as his head falls into your neck. He leaves you, still, to get used to the feeling of his cock in you after some time you simply whisper ”move,cheol-ah” and he experimentally rolls his hips as your head falls back, exposing your tits and Seungcheol takes the opportunity to move his head, mouth sucking at your nipple making you lift your head in surprise as his thrusts continue. ”fuck! Gonna breed you so well, sweets. Gonna fill you up so much, nice and deep with my cum. Give you a kid, give you my kid”
His mouth got dirtier and dirtier and you couldn’t help but to respond to it ”fuck yes! Please! Give me another,w-want your kids cheol” his hand grabs your jaw and forces your head down, making you look at the bulge in your stomach from his cock, hitting your g-spot effortlessly. Your eyes were filled with tears as the second coil in your stomach tightened once more. Seungcheol speeds up, thrusts becoming a little sloppy as he nears his climax too.
One particular hard and deep thrust has you seeing stars as you cum. Your body is exhausted as you lay down. Seungcheol keeps his thrusts going as your legs tremble, he grabs one of your legs and hooks it around his waist. All you could do was moan and shake. Not long after you feel Seungcheol come, spilling his release deep inside of you, filling you up. His hips continue to move, fucking all the cum back into you,not missing a single drop, not letting it go to waste.”there we go,keep it nice and deep for me sweets, do that for me”
Seungcheol carefully slips out of you,you whine at the lost sensation. ”I know sweets, I know but we gotta clean you up. I'd love to stay inside you all night, but not tonight” he says that with a small pout as he toddles off to the bathroom, butt-ass naked as you couldn't help but stare. Admiring your husband’s ass and back muscles, also the tattoos that sit at the top of his neck.
He comes back, coming over to pick you up and throw you over his shoulder. You squeal as he laughs carrying you over to the running bubble bath. He gently places you down on the floor, holding your waist as you steady yourself. You stare down at you like you're the only one in existence to him ”God, I'm so in love with you” Seungcheol leans down and kisses you gently before helping you into the bath, filled with bubbles of your favourite scent.
”I love you too,Cheol. I swear on it. Till death do we part” you make space for him to get behind you in the bath as you relax onto his chest, interlocking your hands with his and resting them on your stomach. ”Maybe the girls will get a sibling after all” you say softly as the scent of the bubbles fill your nostrils and you almost fall asleep, being all exhausted due to the ‘session’ you and Seungcheol just had.
”I really do hope we have another little boy,but another girl wont be so bad. I've already got you,Darae,Cheon-sa and Kuma. i think and i pray to the universe that it will be a baby boy, hopefully, sweets”

SKZ React- their kids first words.
A/n: Hey hey! I’m back everyone, with a new post for y’all. Pls forgive me for my kinda lazy work, I’m just ltired💛
Chan:
When Brandi said her first word Chan was so shocked
Literally his face was so shocked as he turned to you like “you hear that?”
SUCH a proud dad, he tries to get her repeat the word over and over again, films it and sends it to everyone he knows.
Lino:
Basically stares Byeol down
Huge smiles spreads across his face as his daughter just repeats the word “dori” over and over
Grabs the cat and brings it over to his daughter literally so excited that his daughter loves cats as much as him
Sits Byeol on his lap with the cat next to them, gently helping her stroke Dori. Definitely looking at her so proudly 🥹
Changbin:
Literally grabs Hyungsik, cuddling his son in his strong arms, throwing him up in the air and catching him
“Say that again for eomma baby!!”
He’s so excited he nearly cried (he definitely cried)
Hyunjin:
He was making Cheon-Sa pancakes when he hears his son half whisper the word “appa”
Spins around dramatically, arms flailing everywhere “WHAT DID YOU SAY BABY??” He screams
Literally starts fake crying hysterically until you walk in, silently staring at your absolute basket case of a husband literally crushing his tiny son into a hug
Han:
Just imagine the Hannie smile, jeekies on full display… that’s how Han looks when Mae whispers “quokka”
He literally holds back tears of pride as he watches you cuddle his baby to your chest
“Mae Mae you make us so proud” he sobs.
He’s just so grateful for his little miracle baby he thought you guys would never get to have 🤧
Felix:
You guys are so worried when your son still isn’t speaking at the age of three
You and Felix where sitting in your room one night, you crying about how worried you were for your son, when you see a little shadow appear round the door
“Hanuel” is the only word he says, just as you hear your younger baby start to fuss
“What did you just say baby??” Felix whispers as he pulls his son into your bed. Milo just rubs his eyes and tucks his head into your husband’s chest. You guys for sure both have tears in your eyes as you stare at each other in complete joy
Seungmin:
Ae-Cha is the first of his little girls to speak
She is sleeping in her dads arms before he is meant to be going on stage with his members, but as he moves, his daughter stubbornly grunts “NO”
He pulls away from her as she sits up, a look of surprise on his face.
Glancing over to you, he sees you heard aswell… you both burst into laughter at your sassy older twin, while your more angelic daughter still sleeps peacefully in her uncle Hyunjins arms
Jeongin: (angsty one TW)
You and your husband are in the kitchen, having an argument (which is rare for you guys)
“WELL HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF YOU WERE LEFT WITH THE TWINS FOR A MONTH” you scream.. hot tears flooding down your face, as Jeongin quickly retaliates with “ITS MY JOB!”
With all the shouting, you had failed to see your twins growing increasingly upset on the other side of the room. “Stop” Gyeong cries as you and Jeongin both look at each other in shock, you quickly cross to the other side of the room
You both pick up a kid, cuddling them tight as Jeongin baby talks to try and get his daughter to do the same thing. You hug out the argument that night, with your twins between you as proud and happy parents

═══════════════
the chatter in the bustling dining hall died down as he walked further and further away from the crowd and towards the sect gates.
past the open gates, he notices the older man with greying hair standing serenely, looking out at the nightscape and the village that surrounded the base of the mountain down below.
sa-hyung
when did that guy grow so old? he knew the sect leader was getting on in years but, looking at the crow’s feet crinkling from the smile his sa-hyung gave him, it’s just hard not to get sentimental, you know?
are you going to see them? the sect leader asks, a teasing, knowing tone in his voice. like he was aware of something chung myung wasn’t. it was a little annoying, but this was nothing he wasn’t used to at this point.
chung myung grunts, not really wanting to answer the sect leader’s questions. truthfully, it was a habit everyone around him knew about. no one ever asked him about his relationship with that person out-right though, they were smarter then that, and were rather happy to stay curious.
tomorrow's mission won’t be like any other. the sect leader muses, looking out again into the distance.
you should tell them.
chung myung looks at the sect leader incredulously, like the man had grown a second head and was speaking unhinged gibberish.
about what?
you know exactly what i’m talking about chung myung. i know you’re not daft. a deep belly-chuckle came from the good-natured sect leader, even as old men, he still wanted to tease the younger one.
chung myung stays silent. he would rather not confront the matters of his heart tonight. he will in due time, just not now. it was better for the both of them — that person, and himself.
the sect leader chuckles again at the other’s unusually quiet demeanor, turning to go back into the bustling dining hall.
it seems i’ve held you back long enough, run along and come back on time.
the younger man clicks his tongue, scratching his neck and looking away in embarrassment, he felt too seen by the elder then — but he still promised to return before morning. tomorrow was an important day for the sect and the world as a whole, after all.
at the base of the mountain was a forested path leading to a thriving town under mount hua’s protection, he walks past the crowds of villagers and noisy night-market vendors, further and further away until it was just the serene moon of méiyuè accompanying him to where he had promised he would be.
sure enough, right along the dirt path was the familiar shadow of the run down hut, almost shed, that person had taken to calling their home these past few years.
he thought about the day they left the sect. he remembers chasing after them to the gates, hoping he could get them to stay. he didn’t understand why they left back then, even now, he still couldn’t get their reasons.
how could you leave the home you’ve lived in all your life like this? he shouts at them in confusion and anger, maybe with a little sadness laced in it too.
their back looked small. tired. the weight of their debilitating condition heavy on their minds. there is no cure for a broken qi core, after all. it’s like taking the eyes of an artist away or a musician’s hearing. when a murim warrior can no longer use their qi, what were they to do? if their condition hits rock bottom, they might not even have control over their own bodies, or even their consciousness. friends become foes, the living and dead are made equal in their skewed judgement, what if...
a chill ran down their spine at the thought of that scenario. no, they’d make sure such a tragedy can never befall on any innocent being. that’s why they were leaving the sect. for the safety of their sect brothers and sisters, and mostly for their own peace of mind.
why won’t you answer me, damn it!
chung myung’s calls were edging on desperation. he’d never been one to do well in the face of change. he was happy with the way things were, so why weren’t they? what went wrong? why did they want to leave?
so what if you can’t fight anymore? it doesn’t mean you can’t live here, everybody loves you so much and they can all take care of you!
besides, he was here too.
wasn’t he?
there was a long silence. the cool autumn winds danced past the sect gates. surrounding the two were large, towering plum blossom tress now donned in a lovely shade of caramel, with it’s leaves shaking free from the branches it spent a lifetime on — fluttering along with where the breeze led them and falling gracefully at their feet.
ever since their qi core broke, they’ve mostly kept to themselves. not really going anywhere outside their room or talking to other sect members. other then chung myung, of course. he was clingy, nosy and annoying. well, it was hard to shake him off in general.
if they were skipping meals, he’d break in through their window with a table of food. if they weren’t getting out of bed, he’d carry them out to join him in slacking off on daily duties. if they were beginning to spiral into the loop of numbed despair, he would barge in with something for them to do — housekeeping, meeting with merchants, archiving records, anything that kept them on their feet or distracted them enough.
it didn’t really make the feeling go away, but chung myung tries, and that was all that mattered to them.
but they had to go.
because they loved the people who lived here, they have to leave this home behind, so no one will ever suffer the chance of getting hurt by their hands.
because they loved him that they hope he would never have to go through the inevitable task of taking their life, when they are no longer themselves.
i should get going.
they grinned at him, honestly feeling a little silly about getting caught up in their emotions and becoming so sentimental at that moment. they were just moving out to live in the forest around the town outskirts. and it’s not like chung myung couldn’t come down the mountain to see them whenever he wanted either.
chung myung too, grew embarrassed. was he crazy? why did he act like they were going off to some faraway place? there were still within reach, there were still near mount hua. he could see them whenever.
tch. go off already.
he shoos them, flicking his hand at them in annoyance. wanting to hide his heated face from their prying eyes.
he hears them laugh for the first time in a while, he had been missing it lately, how could he have forgotten how sweet it sounded? they turn on their heel, heart lighter from before, it was going to be alright. they would be fine. chung myung will be fine. the sun will still rise on the east, and the seasons will change, the world will move on and so will they.
i’ll be going for real now, bye-bye chung myung. come see me tomorrow, okay?
nah, i don’t feel like it.
please?
he sighs.
i’ll go if i can slip past the sect elders.
you say it like you want them to catch you, i guess you really don’t want to visit me. how upsetting...
ugh. fine, i’ll see you in your stupid new house.
how sweet of you chung myung! look at how grown-up you’ve become!
you little—!
they laughed loudly as they ran down the mountain before chung myung tried to catch them in a chokehold. he doesn’t even bother chasing after them, but he does look on at where the ran off to. their hair had been cut shorter then it usually was, and the tie wasn’t able to hold back the lose few strands that fluttered around their face. they looked younger, lighter, like a kid going on a trip away from home. if they were that happy, he has to be happy for them too, shouldn’t he?
it’s been more then fifty years since then.
he walks into the humble abode, they were sitting against the windows, a book in one hand and the other nursing a cup of tea. they’ve aged, he realised. their once battle-worn face had gone soft, the groves around their eyes had grown deeper over time. skin that was once full and youthful had grown loose around the bones. their hair that had always been so well-taken care of no matter what was now thinner, a little dry and coarse. he picks up the brush lying on the dresser nearby, and walks over to where they were sitting.
with a confidence that seemed to have done this a hundred times, he gathers their long hair and wraps a thin white ribbon around it, looping it over here and there. when he was done, he leans back to look at his work, it wasn’t that good, but it wasn’t the worst either. he wanted to braid the ribbon into their hair but he gave up halfway and settled with a low one instead.
as he sets down the brush, they sweep the half-braided hair over their shoulder to look at his handiwork, fingers playing with the ends of the ribbon.
do you like it?
they look up at him, eyes searching his face, a look of unfamiliarity in their gaze. taking a moment longer before a small smile finally cracks on their face.
chung myung...!
they call out his name, turning to face him fully. they remembered this stranger in their house, and look at how he hadn’t aged a day.
chung myung smiles back sadly. it wasn’t fair how he was the only one whose time had seemed to stop, and theirs had kept moving on, the age taking their memories away at every turn. he just saw them yesterday and they’ve already had trouble remembering him again. they’ve already lost so much, it just wasn’t fair.
i made tea. you should have some, training must have been hard on you.
they smooth out the frown on his brow, tenderly rubbing circles on his cheek with their thumb. humming an unnamed melody as they did so.
he looks over at the said pot of tea. it had already gone cold, probably even bitter from how long the leaves must have sat in the water. he takes a cup anyways, and empties it out, not even leaving a single drop behind.
they giggle in amusement, wondering out loud if he was that thirsty.
hm... the tea you made is really... rich in flavour. thank you for letting me have all of it. i really needed that.
he lies while choosing his words carefully, setting down his cup and pushing the tea set away, he ponders for a moment, and picks them up in his arms, carrying them over to their bed.
what about my book?
you can read that later.
they watch as he sets them down on their bed, kicking off his shoes and climbing in right after. he sighs as his head plops down on their lap, making himself comfortable.
their hands find their way into his thick, dark locks of hair — fingers gingerly undoing the ribbon, watching in quiet fascination as chung myung's abundant tresses came cascading down their legs and flowing over the edge of the bed.
he hums, almost purrs as they thread through the troublesome kinks and knots in his curls, scratching his scalp as they worked through it. his tense body grows softer at their touch, leaning into their hand, wishing that those soft palms would lay on his head forever.
but alas, the night wore off and the distant bustle of the village nightlife had faded into the gentle symphony of the nocturnal critters for quite some time now. he knows he had to get up and return to the mountains, but how could he? the heart wants what it wants, and what it wanted was to stay by their side until the last moment. but he had also promised his sa-hyung he would be back on time.
a long drawn-out sigh was passed in the silence that lay between the two of them. they gaze down at chung myung’s face, again scrunched into a frown.
you frown so much.
the pads of their fingers ghosted over his brows, softly smoothing out the hard creases on his face. he kept his eyes closed. if he opened them, he knew that familiar face would be looking over his, and if he looked at that face, he would look into their eyes, and if he looked at them long enough, he would never want to leave this place. hell, he might not even bother to go with the sect tomorrow.
tomorrow, most of the elders and older disciples will be leaving to subjugate the demonic cult. i’ll be going with them.
he pauses. waiting for them to tell him to stay.
they don’t.
i’ll have to leave soon.
silence.
i’ll come back.
again, he was met with no answer.
you have to take care of yourself.
a beat, and then — a barely audible hum of acknowledgement graces his ears.
chung myung sits up, pulling them into a tight hug, it was really out-of-character of him but something in him was telling him to do it anyways. burying his face deeper into the dip of their neck, he felt his anxiety pour out of his lips.
you better be here when i come back. don’t take this as a chance to go somewhere i can’t find you. i have something i have to tell you so, wait for me here. please?
they rub soothing circles on his back, hugging him back with as much strength their aging body could muster. resting their chin daintily on his shoulder, they revel in the rare burst of affection the man was showing tonight.
hm. you worry too much.
they giggle for a bit.
where else would i be if not here? this is my home, isn’t it?
yeah, but...
if you’re still worried about that... well, i won’t try anything anymore. i promise.
really?
yes. really.
chung myung loosens his grip and finally lets go of his hold on them. coughing awkwardly, he moves them off his lap. slowly, he gets up, puts on his shoes and puts himself together. he turns on his heel, heading for the entryway. they followed after him, their feet shuffling against the floor trying to keep up.
it was drizzling outside.
there was a sudden warmth enveloping him from behind. it took him a moment to register their arms around his waist, face buried against his back. he barely held back his smile as he takes ahold of their hands, once again turning to face them. it seems that saying their goodbyes was a lot harder today, for him and for them too.
goodnight, chung myung.
you should go to bed soon.
he stays at his spot, watching them slide their door shut, listening as the movements in the shed ceased into soft breaths that eventually evened out. he waits a while longer and finally found the strength to return to his own home.
═══════════════
morning rolled around rather quickly. the streets were lined with throngs of civilians on each side of the road making way for the farewell procession of the would-be heroes. vibrant pink petals were cast into the air as the elders of the sect led the disciples onwards.
from the corner of his eye he catches a white ribbon flowing in the wind, but when he swings his head to look, there was no one there. was he just seeing things? his heart drops a little, he was hoping to see them before he —
look up.
his gaze meets theirs, a gleeful glint in their eyes, all perched up in the trees. he wonders what they were clasping in their hands, held up to their mouth in what looked like a kiss. though he didn’t have to for long. as he passed by under them, he felt a flutter of white plum blossoms raining down on him, most of it falling off him except for a lone petal that stuck on his lower lip. he picks up the petal in between his fingers, feeling the corner of his lip crook up in amusement.
he should ask them about that stunt they pulled when he comes back.
and he should probably also tell them how pretty they were with that white ribbon he gave them, all braided into their hair, when he came back from this.

finally, it was over.
cheon-ma has finally been defeated.
all at the cost of so many lives. all taken too soon, too cruelly and all for what? who was going to remember the names of those that died here today? who would mourn for these lives? chung myung couldn’t think of an answer to that.
his body grows limp and he collapses on top of the mountain of corpses. he’s lost too much blood, probably from losing his whole left arm.
to be born alone and to die alone like a common mutt, what a life he had lived as the thirteenth disciple of the great mount hua sect.
all that was left for him to do, as his consciousness walked on the thin line between life and death, was to wallow in his regrets. he could see his memories flicker before his eyes. was this what people talk about seeing when your life is drawing to a close? all that he has done so far, had led to this sorry end?
if only he had been more diligent in training.
if only he had been just a little stronger then he was now.
if only he could have saved a life, any life. a single innocent life spared from the cold clutches of an unjust death.
ah.
and one more thing.
he wanted to apologize to them, for breaking his promise. he hoped they would curse him out a little, because at least that meant they thought of him. he hopes they wouldn’t get too lonely and join them all too soon.
he feels his senses grow numb.

it’s been a few years since chung myung had somehow traversed through time and had woken up a hundred years into the future from when he had died on that mountain of corpses.
he’d kept himself busy with building the now fallen and derelict sect, back into the glory it once had.
this new body of his, it was going to turn twenty-two soon. in his downtime, he’d slipped away from the sect and had gone down the mountain to the town as he usually did.
though it was a little different today. he finds his feet taking him down the almost familiar path out of the town and on an overgrown grass patch where a dirt path once lay. and sure enough, he could see the familiar shadow of a house, almost shed standing in the distance.
time had worked it’s damage on the structure.
he peers in from the broken-in door to see the place left to it’s bare bones. whatever furniture or item had all been looted and taken. in the middle of the room was a mess of broken wood, remnants of when the roof caved in.
chung myung walks into the dilapidated room, looking around for anything that could have survived the past hundred years of wear and tear. anything that could remind him of them.
nothing. there was really nothing left.
a breeze came in from a window, and the corner of his eye catches a fluttering movement. he swings his head and there, on the window sills, was a ribbon, turned light brown from the layers of dust and dirt, it’s once long silky edges now choppy and frayed.
hands shaky, he unties the ribbon from the window, holding it carefully, as though it would fall apart in his grasp. he could feel the barely buried feelings of regret crash upon him all over again. he wonders if they had left this behind with the blind hope that he would come back?
he was back, against all odds. he had managed to come home, but, they weren’t here to see it. nobody he used to ever care for was here to see him anymore.
he should leave. before his feelings get the better of him.
he holds his hands to his face, sighing deeply. steeling himself to move on. but when he drops his hands and opens his eyes, he is once again stunned in his tracks. was it really?
there, past the open window and on the clearing right outside looking at him curiously was a face he would know anywhere. a startled squeak leaves them as they realize that their eyes met, trying their best to block his view with the laundry basket they held in their arms. backing off and beginning to scurry away from the scene.
chung myung knows that it was a long shot, an impossible shot into the dark even, but what if they had been reincarnated like he had? it wasn’t out of the question, right? he thinks as his legs swing over the window, jumping down from it and begins to give chase to the one running away from him.
really, what sane person would ever think that they could outrun a martial artist? chung myung caught up so quickly it was honestly laughable. he catches them by the collar, yanking them back and they let out high-pitched yelp in fright.
he could barely hold back his laugh as he looks down at their face, eyes screwed shut and lips pursed in anxiety.
steadying them on their feet, he turns them to face him. they look different from all those years ago, but his soul knows. it knows better then anyone that this is them, a different face, a different voice and maybe even another name but all of that cannot trick his soul from knowing who they were.
he searches their face, there was no look of recognition. no matter, they could start over, he couldn’t let this chance slip past him like it had back then. he would make things right by them, he wouldn’t keep them waiting in vain like he had back then.
chung myung clears his throat, grinning boyishly at them, hands formed together in greeting, bowing his head before he looks back at them.
ah, really sorry about chasing you down like that. my name is chung myung, and i come from mount hua sect in the mountains back there. it’s nice to meet you.
they look at him, up and down, assessing him for a bit. crazy guy. chasing them down like a predator hunting their prey. crazy. batshit insane. who does that? who even does that? but, they would be lying if their heart was swayed by that grin, he was a little cute, and who in the world wouldn’t be swayed by a face like his? not them, that’s for sure.
besides, when they saw him through the window, something about him...
it felt familiar. it’s almost like, they have known each other from long ago. but wasn’t that weird? how could one know a stranger for a lifetime? unless this was what others call a fated encounter? they bite back a gasp.
hello.
a soft, shy smile graces their lips. quietly telling him their name. chung myung couldn’t help the fondness growing in his gaze. truly, it was a miracle sent from the heavens. maybe this time, the two of them would finally work out what they couldn’t last time. maybe this time, they would find the ending they’ve both always wanted.

watching The Merciless p5/5
The tie fixing, most homoerotic thing known to man.
Fellas is it gay to take a homie to a strip club only to sit with him and drink
Jaeho protecting his man saying „you picked the wrong dick” i have tears in my eyes
… why the elevator stop is this a jealous fuck in the elevator trope
NOT THE MANNANDLING AND PUSHING HIM UP ON THE ELEVATOR WALL. NOT THE HANDS HOLDING TO THE WALL. hyunsoo (and i) just discovered a kink. Now let me rewatch this scene 5 more times as i watch Jaeho put his hand on Hyunsoo’s neck to keep him steady and maneouver his hands. as he pats him down ofc.
OH JAEHO KNEW BEFORE THE CONFESSION?? also bleh the SA threats from the other one
NO DID HE ORCHESTRATE THE MOMS DEATH?! I WAS ROOTING FOR YOU
who kidnaps the poor hyunsoo, hasnt he been through enough
Chief you’re one big scumbag. ACAB all the way
Playing with fireworks what can go wrong, im sure no one burns their face off
Honestly chief Cheon this is karma for the fuckery you’ve caused
Jaeho has harder time with shooting Hyunsoo than Hyunsoo had with getting shot.
I dont even have the words for the emotional toll these last 30 minutes have on me
Hyunsoo needs so much therapy from Jaeho alone, but also from his coworkers to be fair
Damn this entire movie feels like set up for Hyunsoo to become the most fucked up villain imaginable
BRUH JAEHO GOT TAKEN OUT BY A FUXKING CAR????? Aint that poetic justice but also the way my ship has sunk—
NOT HYUNSOO SHOOTING THE CHIEF—  i mean its deserved but its almost comical
In short:
Amazing cinematography. I cried. I laughed. I giggled and kicked my feet into the air. 10/10. Homoerotic goodness. Sol Kyung Go and Yim Si Wan did fantastic job of acting in this, in every single scene.
@chaos0pikachu I feel emotionally punched down, spat on, chewed out but in a good way. Thank you for posting about this gem of a movie.

You Can’t Catch Me Now
trigger warning: suicide, overdose, hospitalization, psychiatric hospitals, mental disorders
hi i broke down yesterday so i wrote this… now i’m sobbing once again, but now it’s because of angela xD
this takes place in canon btw, but the fic kinda details it enough (i hope haha)
also, i’m not a big fan of listening to music while reading, but i recommend listening to you can’t catch me now by olivia rodrigo while reading this because i listened to it while writing this fic haha
i apologize if there are any inaccuracies, i hope you enjoy!
Summary: Years of grief and guilt has made Angela believe that she is a horrible human being; a monster… or at least she thought so.
Also cross-posted on Ao3: You Can’t Catch Me Now - celestiamirasol - Criminal Case (Video Game) [Archive of Our Own]
Angela thought she was dead.
She thought she was dead when her 8-year-old self ran through the forest of Kyushu Island, desperately trying to find something, somewhere to hide.
She wasn’t strong enough for this, and they were looking for someone strong. Someone who could survive.
Thankfully, she found a closet in an abandoned building. She hid herself there for god knows how long, shaking, sobbing, listening to the bloodshed and cries that she could hear from afar.
2 recruits left. Her blood ran cold when she heard the intercom. It was only her and -
The closet door flung open. A girl who seemed older than her, probably in her teenage years stood in front of her, holding a huge rifle. Tears stained the girl’s cheeks, her hair a mess as she stared at a young Angela.
And then the girl pointed the gun at her own forehead.
”Y-you probably have s-so much ahead of you…” The girl cried… and she pulled the trigger.
Angela thought she was dead when her 29-year-old self went to face her adoptive parents once and for all. When she wanted to put a stop to all of this.
“You know that you can’t marry someone else outside of SOMBRA, Angela.” A woman that she called mother - an endearment that left an odd taste in her mouth - scoffed at her.
”Oh, I know.” Angela took a sip of water. They were talking about this over dinner. “But I’m not asking for your blessing. I’m just leaving you a warning; if you ever try to hurt him -“
“Cheon-sa!” Her adoptive ‘father’ gave an eerie chuckle. If anything else, she hated her birth name. It reminded her about who she truly is… and what she lost. “Don’t worry, he seems like a nice fellow.” He took her hand. “Maybe you could introduce -“
“No, I’m not going to let you meet him, and I’m not going to let you recruit him!” She stood up, slamming her fists at the table. Her outburst earned her a slap from her ‘mother’. That was the first time they ever hit her.
“You ungrateful brat!” The woman pulled her hair. Angela was a grown adult, but she felt like that same 8-year old girl who lost her real parents all over again. “We raised you, fed you, dressed you, gave you an education… a life… and this is how you’ll repay us?!”
Fear pooled in her eyes when her ‘father’ stood up and calmly took out his prized gun that he had on display. It clicked. She was definitely that same girl who ran through Kyushu Island. It was her all along. “Cheon-sa… you’re a good girl. A smart one, even. You should reconsider this. Surely, you’re not going to throw away everything we’ve worked so hard for just for some guy… right?”
No. She definitely was the same girl, but girls grow up. They fight. And in this moment, she knew that she had to fight. “Lars isn’t just some guy!” Angela yelled, pushing the woman who held her. Her ‘mother’. “Unlike you, he has integrity! He’s smart and kind and has treated me like a family more than you did over the past few years!”
“ENOUGH!” Her ‘father’ shouted, firing a hollow shot at her. There were no bullets in that gun. Angela took that cue to run. To leave. She left Busan that night, weeping.
SOMBRA - her adoptive parents - told her that the strong rule and the weak die. Crying was weak. She wiped her tears. She had to be strong. Not for SOMBRA, but for Lars. For her family.
And thus, she never left. She stayed to protect Lars. Her family.
She thought she was dead when her 41-year-old self survived that plane crash that targeted the Bureau. That targeted her and her family.
She knew her efforts trying to sabotage the Bureau weren’t enough. But deep inside, she cared for them. Lars saw them as family, so she began to see them as a family too, especially during the times when they’ve put up with her daughters’ shenanigans, comforted her during the times she was down, supported all of her achievements and all of her crazy hobbies. They made her feel like a little girl again, freely exploring, healing the childhood that she lost.
However, she was not a little girl anymore. She had to prove herself. To fight.
And she paid the price heavily.
During her time in prison, guilt wrecked her for months. Her arrest made her realize that she wasn’t a lost and scared little girl, nor she wasn’t a woman who knew how to fight. She was a monster.
And like the fairytales that she would read to her kids to make them fall asleep, monsters had to die.
So when SOMBRA broke her out, told her to bomb the Bureau, her family… She had to accept. But she had to go down with them.
She snuck through the Bureau’s break room, planting the bomb while drunk. After planting it, she took another shot of whiskey. She is a monster through and through. She is SOMBRA.
She thought she was dead when she planted that bomb. She thought she was going to kill herself along with the Bureau that day, but the agents caught her and brought her back to prison. And instead, Jonah was the one who took the hit.
Deep inside, she was thankful that the Bureau didn’t get hurt, that no one died due to the bomb she planted. That they had finally stopped SOMBRA. But she was still a monster. She killed someone and betrayed the Bureau. Tried to kill them, even. She tried to kill her family.
SOMBRA may now be over, but she was still SOMBRA through and through. A monster. And monsters didn’t deserve a loving family.
She pushed them away. She made them believe that she was angry, full of hatred… she even told them that Dupont deserved to die… but she didn’t mean anything that she said. She was that same little girl in Kyushu that was begging for help. That was begging to be saved.
But she believed that she was a lost cause. She cannot be saved anymore.
She thought she was dead when she drank a whole bottle of sleeping pills the night she returned to prison. She wanted to end everything. Her time in this world was now done anyway. She lost her purpose, everything she had worked so hard for, her family. The world hated her. The people she loves hated her.
Still, she was a villain. A monster. And monsters didn’t deserve anything good in this life.
But instead of something else, probably the burning pits of hell, she found herself in a dreary hospital room when she woke up. On one side was a beeping heart monitor, and the other was a fresh bouquet of flowers.
Her heart thudded. She wanted to scream, cry, get out of here. She didn’t deserve this. She didn’t deserve this life.
A doctor entered the room, eyes widening once he saw her sitting up. “It’s good to see you awake, Mrs. Douglas. You’ve been in a coma for three years.”
Tears fell down her cheeks when she heard that surname. It reminded her of the girl she could’ve been. All this time, even when Lars said that he didn’t love her anymore, that he vowed to never see her again… he still never divorced her.
No. He should hate her. Despise her. She didn’t deserve him.
Due to the thoughts running in her mind, she didn’t understand what the doctor was saying about her. All that she understood is that she won’t be returning to prison anymore. They were taking her to a psychiatric hospital.
She didn’t know who thought that she was still worth redeeming. She didn’t deserve empathy, not even pity. She was a monster.
A therapist told her that she had a severe case of bipolar disorder and PTSD. They said that she was also admitted to a psychiatric hospital in Australia, which made her break down. Of all the places, why here? Why in the place where she once believed that she could run away from all of this, to just live a normal life?
Even though they told her that she wasn’t responsible for her actions, that she was brainwashed, manipulated by SOMBRA, she couldn’t believe them. How could she? She still did what she did, and she had to pay the price. Her family hated her. She did all of them on her own accord.
A year later, her therapist told her she had a visitor. She didn’t want to believe them. However, standing behind the therapist was Lars, wearing a visitation badge.
He excused the therapist so he could enter the room. “Hi. How are you -“
Angela started to cry. Why was he here? Why was he like this? She didn’t deserve him. She wanted to push him away… but she couldn’t find the strength to.
Lars glanced at the therapist and then hugged her. “Hey, shh, it’s alright…”
“W-why are you here?” She managed to speak in between sobs. “You hate me.”
”Shh, I don’t hate you.” He whispered and then turned to the therapist. “Could you… give us a moment?”
The therapist nodded. “I’ll be nearby if you need anything.”
Once they left, he continued to comfort his wife. “I brought flowers, but they didn’t allow me to give them to you.”
”Why are you doing this?” She quietly asked. “I ruined everything… I tried to kill you… the Bureau… I killed someone…”
“Angela…” A tear fell down his eye. “I’ll admit that I wanted to hate you. I wanted to forget you. But I didn’t. I couldn’t.”
“But why didn’t you?!” She cried, turning her back on him. “I’m a terrible person, Lars…”
He had to choose his words for a moment. After a while, he spoke. “The prison told me you… overdosed. I was angry at you, but I was also worried. I honestly… didn’t want to lose you. I remember you said SOMBRA took you in when you were eight… That made me think and review your case.”
”That doesn’t excuse anything…”
”No, listen.” He took her hand, making her face him once again. “The Bureau was disbanded already, so while you were in a coma, I hired a private investigator to investigate your early life and your ties with SOMBRA. They manipulated you, Angela… they abused you emotionally… something was wrong. I even asked Marina for help, and she agreed with me. She and I petitioned the court to review your case once again, I pleaded that you were not criminally responsible for what you did.”
”But I am, Lars! I killed someone! I have a long list of crimes that I have to pay for!”
”Your sickness and trauma are to blame, Angela. Not you. SOMBRA is to blame.” He brought his hand to her cheek to wipe her tears. “The private investigator found your adoptive parents, and I met with them… in jail.”
“You’re not supposed to meet them, they’re dangerous! I made sure of that…”
“Shh, I chose to meet with them, okay? They told me how you fought for me… for us…” He started to cry as well, tears continuously streaming down. “I remember how you told me that marrying me was the first time you disobeyed SOMBRA. So this time… I wanted to be the one to fight for you.”
“But… no…” Angela pulled away in disbelief. “I am SOMBRA. You shouldn’t… You and the girls deserve a better life… a life without me…”
“Hey… SOMBRA’s over, remember?” He smiled at her, his voice breaking. “They’ve been gone for years now. You’re not SOMBRA anymore. You’re free.”
She remembered how she heard that the Bureau took down SOMBRA. How she silently rejoiced. How all her fears and worries came to an end. She knew that Lars was right about one thing; she was free.
”Oh -“ Lars stopped upon seeing her break down again. “Can I hug you again?”
He didn’t have to ask her twice. She threw her arms around him, crying. They both cried together for who knows how long.
“I shouldn’t be telling you this, but…” Lars sobbed. “I tried to move on, to find someone else… but they were just not you.”
“I honestly don’t blame you…” Angela knew that he deserved to be happy. Even if it meant that she was not the source of his happiness anymore.
”I’m also seeking help, y’know. What happened to you hurt me horribly. There was a point where I visited you everyday in the hospital, and the nurses scolded me for bringing you so many flowers…” He laughed in between tears. “When I heard that you woke up, I wanted to visit you, but the doctors didn’t let me. They said you were unstable. Then I requested them to transfer you here, but they still didn’t let me see you! This was the first time that they let me. I sent you letters instead, by the way… my therapist suggested it.”
She recalled the letters her therapist gave her. She broke away for a moment to get a box of papers hidden under her bed. They said they were from Lars, but she refused to believe them. “So they were really from you… I’m sorry, I thought that… I didn’t…”
”It’s okay, I understand.” He helped her with the box and they both carried it to the bed. “They’re also not letting the girls see you since they’re still young. But they’ve grown so much.”
”The… girls?” She would understand if her daughters hated her, if they didn’t consider her as their mother anymore. She understood if she was dead to them, mourning, grieving, but most likely hating her. She disappeared from their life at such a young age. Like her real parents did.
“Yes, I’ve been trying to explain your situation to them. They’ve been having a hard time understanding it…”  They both looked at each other’s eyes. “But they still miss you. I miss you.”
For the first time in a while, Angela smiled. “I miss you too.”
“I love you, okay? I hope you’ll always remember that.”
In that afternoon, Angela rummaged through the papers, reading them with Lars one by one. Some made her laugh, some made her cry.
But at that moment, she realized that she was not dead. She was very, very much alive. And for once, she didn’t have to fight alone.

Currently Watching - June
Because I love a good little list - in alphabetical order! 😊
Regularly updated during the month, latest update 30.06.2023
Here you can find my weekly roundup that goes into a bit more detail about each episode.
And a little link to my favorite bl-tropes-collection 💙
This is guaranteed to contain spoilers!
1. Alice in Borderland Season 1 (1/8 on Netflix, no bl)
One day I was in the mood for some dystopian and uncomfortable watch and here we are. After that day I needed something cuddly and colorful, so I guess it will take me a while to finish it. But the first episode was really good.
2. Be My Favorite (6/12 on Youtube)
At first glance, Kawi is a loser. At second glance, a crazy loser. When he tries to travel back in time to change his life, it doesn't necessarily go in the direction he had in mind or Pisaeng, the later husband of Kawi's crush. But this series is so much more. Kawi is like our inner voice of insecurities and inadequacies. And it is like healing a little bit watching him gaining a little bit more self confidence and self love.
3. Dinosaur Love (1/10 on iQiyi)
This is a hellfire of a show. It is bad. But I had a blast. I can't tell you what it is about, because I have no clue! All I know is I love it. It is so bad, that it is good!
4. His Man Season 2 (5/14 on Gaga)
The korean dating show is back! I loved the first season and the second just started really good. I guess there will be some drama in those 14 episodes, but the first dates were so cute! I am looking forward to next week!
5. King the Land (3/16 on Netflix, no bl)
You know the feeling, you wake up in the morning and you're craving some good korean romance drama? That happend t me today and so I just thought give this a shot and it is good. Cheon Sa Rang works as a concierge at the King Of The Land Hotel and there she always has to wear a smile, fake or real doesn't matter. She meets the new boss in town Gu Won, who just can't stand fake smiles, but I guess her beautiful and real smile will make him fall head over heals.
6. La Pluie (9/12 on iQiyi)
Saengtai goes deaf whenever it rains. The only voice he can hear in his head is his soulmate's one. But he refuses to answer it, because Tai doesn't believe in things like love or soulmates. That is until he meets his soulmate for the first time and his soulmate is a such a cutie, that Saengtai cannot longer fight against his destiny. It is surprisingly good and funny and charming.
7. See you in my 19th life (3/12 on Netflix, no bl)
It was a suggestion, sounded interesting, so I watched it and I really enjoyed the first episode. Ban Ji Eum is able to remember her past lifes. Her 18th one ended way too soon and in her now 19th life she wants to meet the one person again, who brought her joy again after 100 years of being tired of reincarnating and remembering all the pasts lifes. A very interesting concept and I like how bold and confident Ban Ji Eum is.
8. Shigatsu no Tokyo wa... (3/8 on Gaga or Viki)
Kazuma and Ren were close friends during middle school and now meet again years later after their ways parted. We get some cute flashbacks and much cuter interactions in the here and now. I really enjoyed this first episode. It has potential, I like the hair tousle.
9. Sparks Camp (5/8 on Youtube)
Philippines's first gay dating reality show! And it's giving you everything you're looking for! Well at least a bunch of cute and cringy moments! And I am sold!
10. Step by Step (10/12 on Gaga)
Employee meets boss without knowing who he has met and crushes hard on him, just tells him what everyone thinks about the new boss and is just adorably clumsy infront of him. I adore the friend group! I hope we get to see them support Pat a lot. But there is more...An ex who is not quite out of the window yet, a toxic work enviorment, with some really sweet rays of hope in between, a second couple I lost my heart for (again the side dish...), which might be a little bit problematic, but who cares? Well, at least not me.
11. The Luminous Solution (5/6 on Gaga)
Every wish comes with a price...We meet Thana and Patis, a couple of over a decade. While Thana tries to holds closeness to his partner, Patis is working non stop at the hospital and doesn't see that his partner is suffering. And now Thana lost his job and his mother is in depth. One evening he enters a very special café, which only shows itsself to people who are in deep need for a wish. But can you pay the price? As a second couple we meet Mai and Ryou, who become enemies on the first day of school and who will have some obstacles to overcome to be together. And there is Ryous best friend, I guess he has a huge crush on Ryou. How they will end up in the café? I don't know, but I am intrigued.
12. Tie The Not (2/8 on Youtube)
And another Pinoy BL from Onix Films. It is a miniseries and it shows. The plot is a little bit rushed and not really round.
Finished in June
Series
Our Skyy 2 (16/16 on Youtube)
This one is telling what happens after the happily ever after of our favorites of the last two years. We have some supernatural stuff, some boring stuff, some cringe stuff and some fluff stuff. Over all I wasn't that excited. I really liked My School President and the last part of A Tale of thousand stars. Besindes that it was not that special to me. I give it a 6 out of 10 (mostly because all the PhuTian fluffiness we've got)
2. Bokura no Shokutaku (9/10 on Gaga)
This is a comfort watch. Hozumi Yutaka likes to cook and is good at it, but he can't eat infront of other people. Meeting Tane and his older brother Ueda Minoru his life seems to change and he may finally have found what his body and soul were longing for. It had some tense moments, but in the end it felt really comforting and calming. It wasn't that hectic or full of drama. It is a very good adaptation and I liked it very much. A good 9 out of 10 for me.
3. A Business Proposal (10/10 on Netflix - no bl)
Can a fake relationship with a lots of lies from all sides end up being true love? Yes it can I and I loved their journey. I loved to see how Kang Tae slowly fell for Shin Ha Ri and how he tried to get her to date him for real. This was just a cute watch and it made my sunday just very comfy and I had a lot of fun. Totally binge watch material. For me a 8,5 out of 10.
4. My Story (9/10 on Youtube)
Now I have a problem. I really liked the side dish couple, Zeke and Fifth, but the main story around Sky and Win was just a little bit boring, especially at the beginning. And I didn't like the whole drunk kissing and just forgetting everything the next morning. With only Zeke and Fifth this would be a better rating, but with everything else around I have to remove some points... I give it a 6,5 out of 10. Now I have a problem. 5. Hometown Cha Cha Cha (16/16 on Netflix)
This is such a wholesome and feel-good series. Even though it dealt with some really tough trauma and I was bawling my eyes out, I loved it and it felt overall good. Sometimes it was a little bit too sweet and especially the later episodes just didn't fit with the beginning of the series. I am very happy, I gave this one a try! Overall 8,5 out of 10 for me.
6. Love Tractor (6/8 on iQiyi)
City boy meets Farm boy who is a little innocent puppy and city boy can't stop falling in love with this pure soul. I read the manhwa and I loved it and this adaptation cut a LOT out, but it was so cute and good and lovable! The characters really fit the original source. Almost perfect. And we get a really good kiss! So extra points here. For me a 9,5 out of 10.
7. Zenra Meshi aka Naked Dining (12/12 on Gaga)
Not gonna lie, this one was exhausting for big parts. I guess it is about fate and two people meant to be together, and that would have been really nce and sweet, but there was so much bad drama. In my opinion the girl new that Souta had a Crush on Mahiro. Her trying to date him anyways and getting annoyed that he spends so much time with the other person was just...annyoing. And the communication and misunderstandings...It could have been something better in my opinion. And there was definitely too little naked dining. It is a 6,5 out of 10 for me.
Short Film
Movie
1. Restart After Come Back Home (on Gaga)
This one is about finding your place in life, accepting others and yourself for the way they are and about hope and forgiveness, family and love. It is a wholesome and beautiful movie. I must admit, first I didn't like both of our mains, but I guess that is part of the plan, because as they grow during the movie I became more and more fond of them. I give it a 9 out of 10.
Rewatched in June
1. History 2: Crossing The Line
It is always good to come back here. I like how both of the leads fall for eah other. To see the struggle Qiu Zi Xuan has with allowing himself to have feelings for Xia Yu Hao. And how sure Xia Yu Hao is about his own feelings. And it has volleyball. Not that I am a big fan, but I like sport bls.
2. Sweet Curse
A korean short film about a friend who is jealouse of the popular guy and summons a ghost to hunt said friend. But the friend falls in love with the ghost and the ghost with him and we get a weird and unconventional, but cute and steamy lovestory. Well, in Strongberry we trust.

I thought Oh Pyung-hwa's arc, all of the friends' work arcs actually, were really interesting because they were so different.
Pyung-hwa likes flying, she doesn't really care that much about her job/being promoted, and she's not good at the part they want her to do. She is not a natural saleswoman and honestly, it's stupid that she has to be considering her main purpose is actually safety. She's pushed into going for a promotion because it's The Thing To Do, but when she finally realizes it's impossible, she's free! She finally talks back to her boss and the creepy captain ex-boyfriend because she doesn't have to suck up anymore. She's able to do the parts of the job she likes.
Kang Da-eul is driven. While she recognizes the unfairness of the sucking-up system, she abolishes it for those behind her but keeps doing it herself. We see this in the Thailand trip when she sucks up to Mr. No (thinking he's the head manager). She is also really good at sales and she clearly wants to go further in her job if she can, her ending is having that way open to her because she has the connections and gets her boss fired for misconduct. Her problem is that her family obligations are overwhelming and she gets zero support from her husband. That problem is somewhat unsatisfactorily solved by the end, though it would have been better if the husband actually realized the injustice of what he was doing...
(Da-eul also is a contrast to Ms. Gu who entirely neglects her family to focus only on her job. Da-eul does both, which causes a lot of strain but her relationship with her child is like 10,000% better).
And then Cheon Sa-rang is less focused on promotion and just focused on doing her job well. She is driven by feeling that she's done a good job and made guests happy, not as much by external reward. She doesn't really suck up, she's nice to everyone pretty equally. She advances quickly because she is competent and because she gets somewhat lucky (in a job where sneezing can have you banished, she was lucky to advance!). What she realizes is that she's being promoted away from the parts of the job she actually enjoys, which is a pretty common problem, especially for people who like their job but hate management. Her solution to work at a very small hotel where she can do everything is lovely.
All of these problems and different ways of approaching work felt really real, so yes, King the Land did have plot, and it was well written.

King The Land - First Reaction
Tumblr media
King The land was certainly one of the most anticipated Kdramas of 2023 and the first two episodes are already up. So, now the question is, did the drama live upto the hype or the first reaction was not-so-worthy? Let’s figure it out in the very first post of Buldak Drama.
Ever since Yoona and Joon Ho performed Senorita together, audiences have been craving to see them together in a romantic piece. And that very yearnings have been granted by the drama gods as they put the duo together in this new chaebol drama King The Land.
Tumblr media
Both of the main lead being KPop idols, have their own fandoms and that added up with the drama lovers like us and made King The Land one of the most anticipated dramas of 2023. The drama is about a cold-hearted cheabol heir Gu Won, played by Lee Joon Ho, whose life gets tangled up with bubbly, and always smiling Cheon Sa Rang, played by Yoona. Basically Sa Rang works in The King Hotel that is owned by Gu Won’s family, well, problematic family.
Tumblr media
As far as the first episode goes, Sa Rang bags a job in The King Hotel despite being underqualified, thanks to her charming and positive personality. On the other hand, Gu Won returns from the UK and starts working as an intern disguising himself in The King Group. However, he manages to get fired on the very first day (yes, even after being the partial owner). He comes across Sa Rang during his stay in the hotel as he refuses to stay at the family house with his father and step-sister. The encounter of the duo happens through a funny incident but I won’t spoil it for you. However, Gu Won goes back to the UK promising to never come back. This is followed by a leap of seven years, during which Sa Rang climbs the ladder of success and Gu Won completes his degree. He then makes a rash decision to come back to Korea and encounters Sa Rang for a second time but this time as the head manager of The King Hotel. Their encounter, which is rather very embarrassing, concludes the first episode.
Tumblr media
The second episode is nothing special. Gu Won and Sa Rang exchange their initial introduction and they are shoved into a project together. By the end of the episode, they leave for Jeju for a business trip. That’s really all.
Now the question is, is there anything extra-ordinary about the drama?
The answer is absolutely no. The same boss-employee trope is all you can find here. Just like the male protagonists of What’s wrong with secretary Kim and Business Proposal, Gu Won, too, has some kind of childhood trauma or more like a problematic childhood. Sa Rang is, just like the typical female leads, charming and bubbly. There is nothing revolutionary about the characters (not yet) as it has a very similar Business Proposal vibe to it. Oh hell, Lee Joon Ho even looks like Ahn Hyo Seop at times. However, one thing that needs to be praised is the visual setting of the drama. It certainly looks very grandiose and offers a nice uplift to your mood. Another praiseworthy thing is the portrayal of the struggle faced by customer service representatives. All three of Sa Rang and her roommates are in customer service and the amount of rude, dumb, perverted customers they have to face on a daily basis, is certainly overwhelming. So, this is where the drama gains a brownie point.
Nonetheless, the drama is only two episodes down. So, let’s wait and see if it brings anything unique to our plate or not. Till then take care and have a nice day.
