indefinite hiatus.

life is manageable but it’s hard my pals. sorry for ghosting tumblr & discord. I don’t have an excuse. I’m not going to be very reachable, I’m very sorry about that. I don’t feel much like writing or doing stuff in general these days but :^) it’s manageable so no worries. Maybe I’ll see you all here again one day, or in the future in some other writing context. For now, good luck & thank you for the wonderful welcome during my stay here in the Jojo fandom. May our paths perhaps intersect again!

(2-2) - that didn't bother him at all, he just wanted to give Jonathan something proper of the gentleman the heir of the Joestar family was as well as a reminder that Robert would always be there for him no matter what. "Happy birthday!"

Delight washes over him as he pivots around. A gift for him? Gifts were perhaps only secondary to sweets and treats. The mystery of receiving gifts and planning them as well had always been rather one of his favorite thingsto do.

“Why, you shouldn’t have!” but his hands were already outstretched eagerly splayed out to receive the box. Such a interesting design as well! Oh, he certainly hoped Speedwagon did not spend too much on him. Delicately, fingers remove the pin and paper, careful not to ruin a single thing —  after all he intended to keep the box as well for it was evident that careful consideration and thought had even been put in the packaging. 

A sharp inhale of breath, “ — Thank you, Robert! ” Even though there was a party planned later in the day, the morning had been reserved for he and his close friends. “Now! I do hope I’m allowed to be a little selfish today on my birthday! I have dinner reservations and there’s already a seat with your name on it!”

What’s this — ? His wonderful grandson here to congratulate this old man on the day of his birth? Well of course he is! 

As per expected, his excitable grandson throws himself at him. The real question is can this old man still do this — THIS? One, two LIFT.  YES, one Jonathan Joestar, though quite past his prime, can still pick up his grandson during pivotal times, namely great big hugs.

Lights a few candles on his name. He doesn’t thinks it’s necessary so say anything. DIO expects Jonathan to already know. Happy Anniversary, Jojo.

It’s melancholy, it’s quiet, like the world gave up it’s light for a few candles glowing dimly, radiating outwards like softening halos, challenging the dark despite their destined fate to burn out into nothing but forgotten wax. He didn’t quite know what to expect today, but this oddly sentimental gesture puts a smile on his face. 

There are no need for words between them, not anymore at least. 

Jonathan is in no rush to break their peaceful silence either, so instead he settles by the glow of the flames, satisfied to bask in the warmth he cannot feel. Blue eyes illuminated in the warm glow, they settle briefly on the other man. He suspects he doesn’t have to say anything to convey his thoughts.

                    DAMN JONATHAN and how insistent he could be. DIO had already made his mind to ignore him, to pretend he wasn’t even there in the first place but even if did not LOOK at him, he could still hear him. How could he sound so full of life, even in death? What joy would it bring him if the vampire accepted to his request? It was childish, but so was Jonathan. There were times in which he could still that boy filling his mouth with food during dinner, spilling wine on the table that earned him a scold. It was funny how vividly some memories were. Insignificant, too.

         “——You really won’t give up, don’t you?” Something to be expected from him, honestly. That was one of many qualities that he admired of Jonathan Joestar; not that he’d ever voice it out loud.

                           DIO scoffs and reaches out for one of the truffles to take a bite. Just as promised, it wasn’t as sweet as he’d have expected—this was something he could actually enjoy and he hated that thought. How could Jonathan know him better than himself?

         “——It’s not bad…”

— AHA! He almost says, screams of triumph reigned in and replaced with a smile nearly stretching ear to ear. He watches aptly as Dio finally gives in to his tenacity. Oh, so close, even closer, he’s really going to eat it! Delight flashes in his eyes as there’s no immediate disgust written on the vampire’s face nor any move the expel the entire box.

It’s not bad.  So it’s rather good, Jonathan translates. That was great to hear! One hurdle finished, and now if only he could get Dio to talk about it too.

“So,” he leans closer, slyly ( or as sly as he could be ) with questions dancing in his eyes. He was always eager for more knowledge. Who would have ever thought he would have a chance to conduct something reminiscent of a study based on chocolate. Did that make Dio his assistant? ( He keeps the thought to himself. )

“How does it actually taste? Does it really have the flavor of wine or is it just similar to it? Is it sweet enough to still be thought of as chocolate?” Finally, he takes a breath  —  “and do you think I would have liked it?”
