i’m meg !! i’ve been playing the sims since i was about 6, i'm now 24. the sims 2 was one of my first obsessions & i’ve played every sims game since. 

i’m not new to tumblr or simblr, i’ve been around since 2013 with my personal blog, but i’ve always been a lurker & never really participated in any of the fandoms i liked. but !! i really want to start !!

i’ve posted a few episodes already of generation 1 of my legacy: weeping brook legacy. it was my little daydream project in lockdown, i would plan out the storylines, characters & relationships. gen 1 is loosely based on romeo & juliet — cassandra goth is the main character. there’s no legacy rules, just posting installments as i go. if that interests you, please take a look !!

Introduction

Hi! I'm an anonymous asker who sends fellow simmers questions. "Simblr Question of the Day" is something I saw going on around September '23 and I wanted to revive this "trend"! After a bit, some simmers suggested a SQOTD blog, to which I agreed and finally did it! I can broaden my asking horizons to blogs w/o anons now :)

I'm going to continue preserving my anonymity, but I'd like to share some basics about me ! ~

You can call me squat or squatty! A name I chose based on the way I pronounce "SQOTD," You can also call me SQOTD Anon! I like the colors yellow and pink/red, I've been playing the sims since I was 5 and I like to read and write :)

And below the cut will include a little rundown of how I will run this blog and navigation hashtags ~

-I will queue a question for once a day around 4am-5am PST, I will try to vary the type of questions (builds/renders/cas/sims/ocs). -Interact with these posts in anyway you prefer: reblog, reply or a separate post! (make sure to tag me ;p) -I FULLY encourage YOU to continue sending asks with SQOTDs (crediting/tagging me is optional). I don't expect every simblr to know about this blog and SQOTD is intended to be a community thing, so while this blog will extend SQOTD reach, asks will spread even further -If you have your own SQOTD, you can send me an ask with your q! -Since this isn't my main blog, I probably won't follow others, but I will check into the "SQOTD" tag, leave likes on SQOTD answers and maybe even reblog answers -For the first week or so after making this blog, I will still send SQOTDs while also letting simmers know the existence of this blog, I also do not want to stop sending asks cold turkey :) (<- I'll remove this after a while)

📩 Simblr question of the day: It's time to appreciate the small things! What's a small detail from one of your posts that you love? Could be a small tattoo on a sim, specific clutter in a sims' room, a little detail in a render or screenshot, whatever is applicable to you

ahh im on mobile rn so it’s a hassle to link buttt…

if you look closely, Parker has a crooked nose and a crooked mouth. the mouth is more noticeable imo and I’m gonna try and get a screenshot of it but i just think it’s so cute and I thought it was really fitting for his character when i was making him in cas!

i also have been enjoying trying to progressively make Gideon’s room look worse and worse LMFAO. i just don’t want to make it look unrealistically cluttered but he gives major messy room vibes in my head (it’s me projecting myself on to my character 😂) so I try and add something every time I play. he also has holes in his bedroom walls which I found fitting bc he’s definitely that weird mf that slams doors too hard and gets mad and hits the wall when he’s in his own room

ruthie -

🎭 - i think everyone acts differently around certain people, but ruthie tries to be as authentically nice as possible. not in a fake way, but she was literally raised on that country hospitality, and truly wants to be nice to everyone. i will say that her move to willow creek has changed the way she acts a bit because shes now realizing that not everyone does like her or will like her. she has to relearn how to navigate relationships outside of her small town with people who has been brought up differently and gone through different things in life.

❇️ - her most prized possession is her gran's recipie tin. passed down through the bustamante family for generations! its the one thing she'd save in a fire.

🔥- ruthie has a tendency to make herself smaller around people. dont get me wrong, shes willing to stand up for things she believes in, but will compartmentalize parts of her and her personality to make others happy. this is something we will definitely see during her relationship with parker.

📎- a random fact about ruthie is that she was actually raised by her gran and her papa - not her mother and father.

gideon -

🙈 - a side that gideon doesn't want to show of himself to others is his awkwardness/anxiety and the fact that he really does want to be close to others. when he lashes out, he gets embarrassed and thinks there's no way for him to come back, so he just acts worse. it's a defense mechanism (a bad one) that stems from his abandonment issues as a foster kids who outgrew the system.

🌈 - advice gideon would give to his younger self: go to therapy. and maybe take a creative writing class.

💓 - a lot gets gideon's heart racing, so it depends on which way you mean. he loves the way he feels when he writes something good. he rides the feeling for as long as possible, but sooner or later he re-reads whatever it was and decides he hates it and it always ends up deleted. he also sort of thrives on chaos and likes to instigate arguments and get people riled up.

📎- despite being an aspiring fiction novelist, the only genres gideon reads is poetry and... self-help. he has low self-esteem, okay?

parker -

🤥 - hmm.. i don't know if hes a good or a bad liar. probably neutral? i can see parker as being the type of guy who never tries to outright lie - he just tells different people what they want to hear and sometimes white lies come from those situations and may or may not spiral and become bigger.

💥 - hehe.. jealousy. but for real, on a normal basis, he has a problem not empathizing with people enough. one of those guys who can never bother to care enough or worry about things. he goes with the flow almost always. and that's not always a good thing.

☄️ - ooh this is a good one! its hard for me to say what people assume about him, though. what do y'all assume about him??

📎- parker is extremely fit/active, literally always wants to be doing some sort of physical activity. he's usually accompanied with his siberian husky, apollo.
