The Suibian Subs public discord is now closed. While the download links that were posted there are still working, it must be reiterated:

Please do not reupload to any video sharing websites such as:

Youtube, Vimeo, NicoVideo, Bilibili, etc

Also, please do NOT post publicly that you have the audio drama(s) and are sharing it to any searchable social media websites such as:

Reddit, Quora, Facebook, Instagram, tumblr, twitter X, Threads, TikTok, public forums, easily searchable discord servers, etc.

While you CAN privately share the audio drama among friends in private chats, private discords, etc. Do NOT publicly advertise that you can send a link or friends request or dm!!!

Although we are closed, it doesn't mean we are not watching. MDZS has thousands of fans. We ask all fans of Suibian Subs that if you do see someone advertising or sharing publicly, please let us know via this tumblr (comment) or contact Kitty on discord - I will still be on discord.

We are winding down to our last day, but before that I have some news!

Our awesome translators have finished translation of JCHS chapters 67 and 68 before the closure! You can read those here:

Announcing: The Closure of Suibian Subs

It's never truly easy to make these type of announcements... but what would I know, I've never had to make one like this before:

I am announcing the permanent closure of Suibian Subs. The public discord server and translation work will cease.

As for our downloads, we are still deciding whether to offer them on our tumblr - which will stay open - or if there is a better solution going forward.

Please note that this doesn't mean everyone should race to upload MDZS audio drama to Youtube!! We still do not appreciate our wishes being broken.

However, if you have a friend who's downloaded the audio drama, you can have them share with you privately either online or in person. Do not upload it for the public anywhere.

Treasure Chest subs is currently working on MDZS audio drama subs. Please find their information to get access to their downloads, and respect their rules.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and support these 6-7 years.

If you're truly wondering, this closing is not about the server hack. It's 10% server hack and 90% member interest. The server being hacked is what really brought things into perspective for us. That is:

It's just time.

It's kind of hard to believe this all happened because I was impatient. LOL

I was impatient and decided to try MTL translating the MDZS audio drama, myself. We all know how well that would've worked. Luckily, the first person to contact me was iarrod before I released anything

"Since 2018, Suibian Subs has been providing quality subtitles, especially known for subtitling the MDZS audio drama, for fans to enjoy worldwide."

I never really thought it would be of such significance to hundreds of people. It was simply a passion project between iarrod and I. Then we added a bunch of other members: Gwyn, askcj1, Yen, and several more that have left over the years... and the rest is history.

Yes, people come and go, life changes, they need to take a break, then a "break" turns into leaving. Sometimes personalities clash and drama ensues. And the group either recovers from these types of changes or struggles to come back to its full glory.

I will certainly miss the camaraderie among us, the random chats, the streams, etc. It was all a fun time in my life that I will look back on and cherish.

Thank you especially to all of the team members, translators and subbing team, for sticking around, enjoying the good times and not-so-good times. Thank you iarrod for helping me out when I was so damn impatient - ha!.

Thank you to those members who have left for your work and dedication to the server.

Thank you fans!!!

Those who have donated (when we had donations for the MDZS audio drama team), those who have thanked us for our work, and those who haven't. Those who have told everyone that the MDZS audio drama is the best adaption of the novel and the best/only place to watch is through Suibian Subs.

Discord Server Hack - it's gone. For now.

Yes, our Discord server was hacked. The entire server was deleted, channel by channel.

The culprit also spammed an extremely rude image. Apologies for those who saw that travesty.

For now, we do not have a timeline for what will happen next. If there's a way to get a backup, great. If not, we may start a new server. I will continue to report here on what's up.

Edit to add: Please give us some time. Message requests and friend requests on Discord will be ignored (I'm sorry).

What's up? Why didn't I get an invite? :(

Update Jan 1st: ALL INVITES HAVE BEEN SENT!

Please check your SPAM messages! I will not reissue the invite code if it expires!

If you have not received an email, it might be because I haven't gotten to your application, yet.

Or

It may be because you didn't fill your application correctly.

I'm going to provide some tips in this post for reasons why your application may be rejected - these are based on real applications!

You did not fill in your email correctly. I'm sorry "Person who didn't put their whole email". I cannot send you an email if I don't know what it is!

You did not fully answer "Why do you want to join the server?" question in a full 1-2 sentences.

Short answers such as:

"mdzs~~~~" , "I <3 MDZS", "Yes" , "Okay" , "to read" , "gayyyssss"

Will be rejected.

However, please don't put your life story in, either.

Here are some examples of correct answers:

"I first read MDZS novel and want to listen to the audio drama."

"I am soooo addicted to MDZS and need more! Please let me in!"

"I heard you're subbing Tianbao. I want to listen to it."

"OMG, please! I've been waiting forever to download your content. Please let me in!"

You guys! We received 500+ invite applications! You make me so proud and scare me at the same time!!

Please note: due to the influx of requests, it could take until Monday to get through them all. I have approved 200 today, mostly those who requested within the first 2 hours.

If you did not receive an email, most likely it was because your answers in the application were incomplete. You will need to wait until server invites are open again.

As announced, we are opening the application for Discord invites. The application will close at 8:00 p.m. CST tonight. Please read the instructions and follow carefully!

Please fill out all questions completely in English. It doesn't have to be perfect and feel free to use an online translator.

When asked for your Discord username, please use this username when in our server. Do not change it for a while. If you do not have a Discord account, please create one first.

When asked "why you want to join the server", please answer in 1 or 2 complete sentences. Short replies or 'yes' will be rejected.

After submitting your application, please prepare to wait up to 3 days to receive your invite code. If you do not fill out the form correctly, your application will be rejected and you will not receive an email.

The holiday season is fast approaching!

And whether you celebrate or not, every one loves to receive gifts! We at Suibian have gifts for our followers and friends this year.

However, many of those will only be announced at our Discord group. If you've been waiting a while for invites to open, you are in luck!

As part of our gift giving, you will have 2 opportunities to join the Discord. The first is this Saturday!

What to do if you see videos reuploaded...

Question: I spotted someone reuploaded your audio drama(s) to YouTube, Daily Motion, social media, etc. What do I do?

Answer: This is what to do if you see someone has reuploaded our videos on any video sharing platform (including clips on Facebook, Insta, or Twitter).

1. Report to us immediately. If you’re in our Discord, you can message a mod, the admin, or post in the troubleshooting channel (or suggestions channel). 

2. Dislike and comment on the video. Please be civil in your comments. If someone comments “Where can I get the audio drama?”, feel free to point them to this tumblr through our url. 

Again, try to be civil. Do not harass or call the uploader names.

3. Do not report the video (on any platform). I know you may wonder what else to do, or you may have a trigger finger xD but we prefer you do not report the video.

Question: Why is reuploading such a big deal?

Answer: Imagine spending a week or two translating from one language to another, spending your precious time getting it all in perfect English, then sending it to a subber who also spends their quality time to typeset the entire thing, only for it to be reuploaded (and possibly someone else claiming the work).

It’s not really nice.

Plus, there’s a copyright issue we have to consider.

Question: What will happen if the person doesn’t remove the videos?

Answer: As our long-term followers know, there are some consequences. We will most likely stop releasing new episodes (of all audio dramas). 

Our staff gets angry, and stop working on stuff. Really!

Then, we may move on to removing audio drama download links from our Discord.

If it continues, or more people reupload, we may be forced to close.

Thank you to everyone who has helped sway reuploaders in the past. We have a very great group of fans who enjoy danmei and BL, and we hope to keep translating and subbing audio dramas in the future.
