Observation Tower 4 - the final one that I have recorded! These towers second as boundary markers for the different regions of the country, with some sectioned in groups like this.

I saw one example a while back that had several of them sequenced in a row together. Just an example of one of the many security measures the Church put up to defend against the wolves...at least they're nice to look at.

Observation Tower #3 : The construction of these buildings are funded by the churches, and so each tower has its own look. There's the temptation to make them look as nice as possible, but there are some criteria that have to be met:

For example, it can't be sitting directly on the ground -- the main body of the tower has to be high enough to where you can only access it via ladders. Thankfully, wolves can't climb ladders.

They also need to be made of sturdy materials that meet the security requirements -- the charms and sigils can only do so much against the bigger beasts.

I liked this one because it reminds me of the Synthian churches.

Observation Tower #2 : These buildings are tucked away very well -- I imagine the workers don't get many visitors, and there isn't much incentive to clean up or maintain the building's appearance. The only thing that really matters is that the power stays on...if the power isn't on, the sirens don't work.

And if the sirens don't work, that spells trouble for anyone living close by. The wolves don't wait for you to prepare yourself.

Observation Tower #1: A good portion of the towers are situated in the woods. Most strange things come from the woods. Luckily, this one is still occupied and the sirens work without much issue.

I don't know the guy who works here...and I'm too scared of heights to climb the ladders.

Yes, absolutely. Harpy-creatures all the way. The design in this one is especially great. The portrayal here is one of my favorites, with its spindly limbs and curved neck. Great stuff.

Like in any other world, there are parts of the country you are better off not stumbling into. In some cases, the location is outright cursed -- in other cases, nothing bad has happened...yet.

Note: When exploring undocumented areas, it's standard practice to have an illustrator accompanied by a combatant, not a scufflebump.
