Steambaby Week Day 6: Dragons
Really wanted to participate in @steambabyweek this year, but I'm in the middle of a huge volunteer project that is taking, without exaggeration, every moment of my free time. Then I remembered that I colored a panel from a Fire Noodle comic a while back (and don't think I've shared it?), and since Day 6 was dragons...
I've got some ~art~ ideas so once the volunteer project is over, I hoping to jump back into my usual Fire Noodle/ Zutara/ steambaby nonsense.

"Fire can be destructive if not controlled, but my dad taught me, it's also life." Said the firebender girl with her mother's name. Katara flinched slightly as she lit a small flame between their joined hands. "See? It's like a little heartbeat."
"It's a gift from my mom." The girl tapped the necklace while looking up with Zuko with familiar blue eyes. Did all waterbender girls have that shade of blue, he wondered. "It represents bravery and love, like my grandmother who sacrificed herself to save my mom."

After getting separated from the Gaang and Iroh, Katara and Zuko respectively make the hard journey to Ba Sing Se alone. On the way, they each meet a strange half-blood child dressed in fancy clothes and speaking about a time of peace they could only dream of. But what's more was they felt achingly familiar.
