Yeah of course! Do keep in mind however that I only looked into this recently, so I may not be completely right

The first issue is more about the beliefs, in the culture that the original w*ndigo comes from its believed that saying its name will catch its attention. Which is not good at all. It is an extremely evil and malevolent evil spirit who sometimes even posses the bodies of humans. When it does posses others , it’s said that the victims will have insatiable hunger, the desire to eat other humans and extreme urges to commit murder.

The second issue is cultural appropriation, here’s a quick comparison of the popular media version and the original that comes from folklore.

The popularized version of it is actually extremely insulting to the original culture it came from. If you wanna read more about it, you can check out the Wikipedia article for it which has a pretty decent summary.

If you want to still refer to the modern version, I recommend using deer man/woman/person instead (or alternatively notdeer).

I know I dont because I'm omnihearted tbh

i am a wolf , a coyote , a predator . but i feel strangely non violent for my kintypes . when i see a small animal , like a mouse or a squirrel or deer , things my theriotypes would hunt , i just feel care for them . i want to play with them or help them , sometimes i even feel parental . maybe this is because my father is an Elk ?? do any other therians who have predator theriotypes feel strangely non violent about them ? like i dont even get hungry seeing them
