Hi! I'm interested in learning korean. ^.^ i just got introduced to K-pop this year and I really want to learn the language so i don't have to depend on subs and english tutorials for fancafes, etc. =_= so i was just wondering if you could share your experiences and how you were able to learn korean/useful tips for beginners learning the language :) PLEASE REPLY! I actually answered this before so I’ll just copy-paste my response. Here you go~

I just started learning by googling Korean, basically. Haha. And links just pop up. But the sites I used are:

After a while, I needed more sites (especially to help in Test of Proficiency in Korean = TOPIK) so I found this one:

epsklt.hrdkorea.or.kr

I highly suggest you only use google translate for certain words, but not an entire sentence because it’s like google translate is translating while drunk. So I recommend

dic.naver.com (it doesn’t translate the sentence, rather it separates the words in the sentence and gives the definition of each word properly, with sample sentences for the word below it)

TIPS IN LEARNING KOREAN

Memorize Hangul first (because romanization is confusing and never as useful. Besides, Hangul has less letters than the English alphabet… just a bit more difficult in pronunciation)

READ - keep on reading Korean. the more you read, the faster you’ll be able to comprehend

WRITE - keep on writing! Write a simple private diary or something. A public journal maybe and ask a Korean friend/teacher to correct you (Harukorean.com does this)

SPEAK - It’s difficult to speak when you have no one to speak to but maybe what you can do is record your own voice and compare yours with audio from youtube or somewhere. It helps to hear yourself speak!

LISTEN - This is the fun part. Watch a lot of dramas, films, variety shows. Observe how Koreans enunciate certain words. It really helps, I guarantee this is the most fun you’ll have.
