what is this?

solarys is a portfolio. simple as that. solarys is a hub for my art, whether drawn or written or of some other medium.

it is important to note that solarys is not the main alias i use. for reasons anon, my primary accounts will not be shared. i wish to keep solarys and my other work separate.

as solarys is a collection of work that i am proud of, not all of my creations will be posted here. solarys is reserved for digital works to keep an aesthetic that i cannot capture with my traditional work. to add, this portfolio will only compile my best and proudest work.

notably, solarys was initially created as a collection of my school-assigned projects. that is not to say non-academic works will not appear, but they will take priority.

my askbox is open for any kind of conversation, dont be afraid to ask about my work or just start a chat!

as much as i love sharing others art, due to the nature of this blog, there will be no reblogs. i will still leave likes, but reblogs do not have a space here. im very sorry!

who are you?

glad you asked. im frances, a fifteen year old queer and trans boy from rural canada. i use he/it pronouns. i have adhd and high anxiety so i ask for your patience when talking to me. im not ignoring you, i promise!

ive been an artist for as long as i can remember, and i work primarily in visual art (traditional and digital) and written works (narrative and poetry). i started taking my work seriously in fourth grade as i engaged with fandom and other creative minds- that gives me over 7 years of dedicated practice.

my more serious work tends to lean into ideas of identity. my voice is not unique in the sea of queer perspectives, but it is valuable and deserves to be shared.

i take inspiration from the work of leo fox, sanrio, and many of my creative peers in the field. my style is derived from an ms paint-esque technique featuring small canvases and a digital brush.
