Here's a story about that game disc: I was going to remove it out of respect for Idunna. Its a UPG of mine that she's not a fan of video games - she'd rather I spend my time outside. But she will watch me play them if I invite her.

I did not invite her to watch me play this game. But this game is very special to me. ...At least, the first one, Tales of Symphonia. I don't like the sequel.

After I got out of a toxic friendship that practically took everything out of me, I started watching a Let's Play of Symphonia to help me get to sleep, expecting to be bored out of my mind since the same company that made it made Sword Art Online games.

I got incredibly invested instead. So invested that I bought it on Steam at full price with what little money I had (I didn't have a job at the time). I wanted to finish it for myself.

And then after I finished it, I found a Discord server full of the nicest and most welcoming people I've ever met so I could talk about it. One of them was even responsible for pointing me down this path that led me to meeting Idunna.

When I thought about removing that game disc, I got back a very firm "no". I was stunned by this, and I asked why.

"Because its important to you."

So that is why it is so prominently featured on it! She insisted.

Here is the shelf on my big ass dresser that I'm calling "the god shelf". Here you can see Idunna's glass and candle, as well as a candle for Bragi and the wooden prayer beads I bought for my patron deity. My standard "god box" is full so I needed a place to put their stuff...

The blue cup and tan teapot taken from my high school pottery class - seniors left it behind and never came back for it. The teapot needs to be glazed and fired, but I fear its about 7 years too late to do that...

Pay no mind to the video game disc behind it! Or the white pouch!

Grim's Subtle Worship Ideas for Idunna 🍎🍏

Basically my entry to @chaos-bites 's Subtle Worship series for Norse Gods

I made this in hopes of taking some of the stress of it from Stag's shoulders (and I got the go-ahead too)

eat in-season produce

take your medication safely and on time

learn more about how fruits and vegetables grow

grow a plant, ideally one that produces a fruit or vegetable, but a low effort one like a succulent works too

eat mindfully

partake in a creative hobby (think knitting, drawing, etc) that brings you joy

learn your limits and honor them

do a chore that desperately needs doing to improve your quality of life (dust with a mask if you have a dust allergy, clean out your fridge so you don't get sick from spoiled food, etc)

support environment preservation and restoration groups

clean up litter

be mindful of what you buy and throw away

exercise! doesn’t have to be a full complicated routine, just something that gets you moving and enjoy - and if you can’t enjoy it, something you can at least bear

spend some time outside - and put on sunscreen while you’re at it!

take care of yourself: shower if you haven’t in a while, brush your teeth if you haven’t today, and so forth

learn more about your local ecosystem

share an apple with her

start your own fruit and/or vegetable garden and give part of the harvest to loved ones

contribute to a community garden

make a homemade apple pie and give her a slice

give her an glass of water and ice to refresh her after a long day in the orchard

help a loved one with yardwork

I'll probably add onto this list later - I know I haven't gotten everything she'd like. Or, heck, y'all can add onto it too! I'm curious to see what else y'all would offer her.

Idunna was very proud when I sat down to have a blunt talk with two of my friends from high school regarding the current state of our friendship. It had been bugging me for the better part of a year - and it went well. No screaming matches or anything - just blunt messages from one to the other. It gave me some peace of mind I desperately needed.

What was the last thing you did that you could literally feel your deities being proud of you?

In my case, I literally felt a huge energy and pull toward my altars when I maintained boundaries and kept my peace. Could feel my deities being like “HOLY SHIT !!! THEY FINALLY DID IT”

This blog was initially intended for just Idunna, because I established a relationship with her first, Bragi came later. However, when making this blog, Bragi insisted on sharing this with her.
