If she thought of her love as a commodity and were to, say, eat it, it would fill 4,745 cherry pies. If she were to preserve it, she would need 23,725 glass jars and labels and a basement spanning the length of Pinnacle Lane. If she were to drink it, she'd drown.

5-star read ✯
Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982
Author: Cho Nam-joo
--- A well-written book that concerns the struggles of Korean women and how they are constantly being deemed as unimportant. Women's conditions in Korea may be improving these days, however, there are still evident reminders that men are being favored. This book not only narrates the experiences of Korean women but shows how women, in general, are resilient and only grow stronger through time.
Kim Jiyoung is a fictional character but the issues surrounding her life's story were real. The author used references that proved her claims. I could go on and on but doing so would spoil the book which would definitely affect your reading experience. It is a really great read and I felt enlightened to have known some history of a foreign country.

“People think intimacy is about sex. But intimacy is about truth. When you realize you can tell someone your truth, when you can show yourself to them, when you stand in front of them bare and their response is ‘You’re safe with me’ - that’s intimacy.”

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
Oh the amount of fucking goodness this book has. As soon as I've read the first few chapters, I instantly knew why this book raked readers.
Okay. Evelyn fucked up so many times all throughout the book, nevertheless through those choices I've come to know the sincere and profound love she has for Celia. I can only imagine up to what extent Evelyn is willing to go just for Celia.
Moreover, I've become really familiar with relevant issues. Like the LGBTQIA+ and what circumstances they have to face because they're forbidden (by society's standards of whom someone should love) to love a certain gender. Fucked up, right?
Another is that the lies these social media platforms feed us. Not what we see online is the reality. That's just a small chunk of the lives of what we brand as "influencers".
Above mentioned points couldn't really sufficed the enormous thoughts I have for this book. It is perfection and fuck, I love it so much it hurts.

late night thoughts 02
Maybe what I've read earlier is a reminder to stop. How stupid of me to be still hopeful in spite of signals being manifested.
Maybe the irrational, naive side of me was just infatuated. Maybe I need some validation from a stranger. I do not know.

When you're daydreaming basking under the sweltering sun, feeling the summer breeze mixed with salty air, hearing the clashing waves brought by the ocean or feeling the calmness of the water against your feet. You're lucky. You don't have to hear the sound of your hungry stomach.
When you're deciding what to binge-watch on Netflix or you're randomly browsing Goodreads for book recommendations. You're lucky, you're not worrying when will be your next meal.
When you're reading while eating a take-out from your favorite fast food. You're lucky. Thoughts of having an empty wallet will never bother you.
It's easy to feel unaware when you're experiencing the aforementioned pleasures, it's easy not to feel all the unfortunate things that this pandemic brought along with the virus. Out there, people are trying to make ends meet. A lot of people are considering three-meals-per-day a luxury. A lot of people are suffering.
Always be grateful that you're still able to experience the comforts of life amid this pandemic. Pray relentlessly that He may heal our world so that all our agony will soon end and we'll be able to go back to our previous lives.

I read a lot and I need to breath it all out. Though my writing needs a little attention. I'll soon get there, and you too! Whatever you're dreaming, whatever you're passionate about - literature, art, singing, and all possible hobbies and talents - you'll get there. Take time to fix yourself as it doesn't happen overnight. Yourself needs your thorough guidance, determination, and intensified will. So write, write, write. Draw, draw, draw.
Never stop working hard because you reap what you sow.

late night thoughts 01
1:54 AM. This is usually the time where our minds are filled with thoughts. Varying thoughts. Dreams, future, insecurities, daydreams, and questioned faith.
It can be dangerous to the extent of questioning your self-worth. And most of the time, it's calming and soothing. Happy thoughts, nature, and such.
Don't drown yourself in the pool of your thoughts. Get up to your feet and explore nature, whether it's the beautiful ocean stretching into a vast endless or the mountain high up above. Put everything into halt and let your minds breathe. The world needs you to see its beauty, the world needs us.
