Some people don't realise how the things they say sound to others.

Honestly though, I'm not from an English speaking country, so I had to actually look up what homesteading means. A few minutes of reading up on it made it pretty clear though, so I have a hard time understanding why some people insist on using this phrase. It has such terrible connotations and I wouldn't want to be associated with that.
