Booktube-A-Thon : Update 3 (Day 4)
I just finished Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare.
I thought it was over 500 pages, but no. 479. Argh!
I bought the second and the third one, but I need a break for all this epicness!
So I am going to read The Best Night of Your (Pathetic) Life, by Tara Altebrando. It's a book I bought not so long ago, and it seems light enough to keep me moving in the read-a-thon. (And the cover is beautiful!)
The Challenge list :
1. Read 300 pages a day. 2. Read a book with 500+ pages 3. Re-read a book. 4. Finish a series or trilogy. 5. Read a book that has been on your shelf for the longest time. 6. Listen to an audiobook. 7. Read a classic.
So, my pages count so far is :
736 pages + 479 pages = 1215 pages.
And My book total is 3 books.

Booktube-A-Thon : Day 2
SI just finished This Lullaby, by Sarah Dessen. (By the way, it was my first Sarah Dessen and I loved it!)
Next, I think I will jump into Clockwork Angel, by Cassandra Clare. I know, I know... Everybody keep telling me that this series is so good. I have the book for a couple of months, now and I didn't read it before because of the number of pages. BUT, since it was one of the Read-A-Thon challenge, it is the perfect occasion for me pick it up.
Also, it is more than time that I read it : Tumblr is a time bomb for Spoilers!
391 pages + 345 pages = 736 pages.
Not bad! I thought it would be worse. Keep in mind that I read in English, but it's my second language, so I don't read as fast as I would if the books were in French.

Booktube-A-Thon : Update 1
One day into the Read-a-thon and I am already behind my schedule! (perhaps, buying Animal Crossing : New Leaf this weekend wasn't the smartest idea...)
So far, I've read Fire Study, by Maria V. Snyder.
This means I have completed a trilogy. I cheated a little bit, because I was already 50 pages in when the read-a-thon started, but I will count it anyway.
441 - 50 = 391 pages.
I will still read some more today, but it will be counted in my update tomorrow. I'm diving into This Lullaby, by Sarah Dessen.

DIY Canvas Button Tree
Tumblr media
This is a really easy craft that you could make in an afternoon. You could make on in any color you want and any size too!
Tumblr media
So first off, you are going to paint your canvas (mine is from the dollar store) one solid color. You could also do ombré or even stripes if want. In short, create a background. Don't forget to paint the sides too!
Leave your canvas to dry. Usually acrylic paints dry super quickly, so wait maybe 30 minutes. Then, take some black paint and start to draw the shape of you tree. You could do a quick sketch before, just to make sure it is realistic. When I draw mine, I was inspired by cherry trees.
Leave it to dry again. This time, it really has to be completely dry, so wait for an hour. Before gluing the buttons, if you want your painting to be more shiny or protected, you could apply mod podge after the black paint has dried.
When everything is dry, you want to start gluing the buttons. Plug your glue gun, and while it heats, place the buttons where you want them to be. Make sure that everything is in your taste before gluing it for real! Now is the time to cover any mistakes you made while painting the tree : just put a button over it!
When you are sure everything is perfect, you may start gluing your buttons. Try to avoid any glue spiderwebs thingy, because they are really hard to remove. It is best to be methodical while gluing the buttons, because if you do it at random, you will forget some.
That's it! I hope you enjoyed my tutorial.

A 1$ DUPE FOR THE SIGMA GLOVE? YES PLEASE!
Tumblr media
When the Sigma Glove came out, I thought it was really a great idea, but I would NEVER pay 40$ for an oven mitt!
Although, I will admit, when I wash my make up brushes, it is not optimal and my hand feels kind of irritated after (I used to rob my brushes in my palm).
When I was browsing on internet to find an alternative, I saw that SecretLifeOfABioNerd made a video showing us how to transform a plastic writing pad into a brush-washing instrument.
Tumblr media
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zeefo2wZ14k
I thought this was a really clever idea, even if it was not perfect in my taste (I was afraid that the hot glue would be too sticky), but I decided to give it a try.
So I went to the dollar store to get the material to make it, but when I got into the hardware section of my dollar store, I saw a thing that really inspired me.
Tumblr media
A paint pan!
They sell them in different sizes and shape, but this one was perfect for me. By shape, I mean that some pans had stripey thing to scrape the paint off your roll, but I preferred this one with little dots on it, because it looked less harmful for my brushes. The last thing we want is to make our brushes shed!
Tumblr media
It is really easy to use, probably more than the sigma glove itself, because my method allow you to use your both hands.
The first step is to pour some of your brush shampoo on the spikey dots. I used my ELF brush shampoo, but baby shampoo would work as well.
Then, you are going to pour some warm water in the bottom shallow part (Which is hidden behind my arm in the picture; sorry!). It it optional, but I thinks it makes me save some water by not leaving the sink running this whole time.
Wet your brush, and start rubbing it on the textured part until the brush hair are clean. You can rinse it from time to time too, it helps.
When you think your brush is clean, rinse it under running water until the water turns clear and there is no more soap in your brush.
Squeeze the excess of water and leave the brush to dry on a clean towel.
That's it!
If it was hard to follow, please check the video I made. I did a little demo, so it might be easy to figure out how I did it.

June To Be Read!
Tumblr media
June is summer reads time for me, so I have decided to read easy, happy and romantic books this month!
First, I want to finish Les Misérables, by Victor Hugo.
This is not really a summer read, but I have been reading it for months now! I have read 81% at this moment, so I think this is time to finish it. It was a free e-book on my Kindle, and I enjoyed it a lot, for what I read.
Next, I want to read Pita-Ten (Volume 1), by Koge-Donbo.
This will be my first manga, but it looks really good. PriceIsWong, on Youtube, did a little review of it, and it seemed really good. Also, mangas are usually quite expensive, and I got it for only 2$, so it was an offer that I couldn't refuse!
I am also going to read The Lover's Dictionary, by David Levithan.
This book is a love story, written in definitions, like in a dictionary. I really look forward to reading it. It looks really appropriate for June!
Next, I am going to read Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore, by Robin Sloan.
First, I have to say that that book is GORGEOUS! You really have to see it in person to appreciate how beautiful it is! But, I want to read it because I love books (duh!) and because it seems really gleeful and fun for summer. I think it would be a good summer read, without a lot of romance.
If I have time, I am going to read Delirium, by Lauren Oliver.
Everybody seems to read it, right now, on the Booktube community. So, I want to join the fun. Also, it seems like an OK+ book, note the finest of all, but an easy to enjoy one, so I the it is good for summer!
Finally, I will try to read The Girl in Times Square, by Paullina Simons.
Paullina Simons is one of my favorite author. I really loved The Bronze Horseman trilogy. In fact, that might be some of my favorite books ever. But strangely enough, I never got around reading another Paullina Simons book. This one is a stand-alone, but it is 600 pages long! Fortunately, once you get into her work, time flows by so quickly, so it might be a quick read for me, we will see...
So, 6 books is quite a lot, but I hope I will get around reading them all. My unread book pile is starting to get a little overboard!
I you have read any of those books, please let me know what you thought of them!

DIY Paint chip art! Create your own piece of art, even if you're not an artist.
Materials :
- Paint swatches (free from a hardware store)
- 1-inch circle punch
- Glue gun and hot glue
- Utility knife (X-acto) and a cutting mat
- 1 foam board (mine is 20 x 30 inches)
  How to :
1.Punch holes in the paint swatches, avoiding the name. (Unless you don't mind seeing writing on your final work)
2. Once you have quite a lot of circles done, glue them down on a foam board, following the pattern you want. (or don't follow any pattern if you prefer it.)
3. When the board is full, flip it over and cut the excess, so the edges are straight.
4. I wanted a more polished effect, so I put hot glue all around the edges of the board.
For more information, you can go watch the video (and maybe subscribe to my channel... ^^)
