Facial Appreciation Post✨✨✨
Facials do more than wash the dirt off your face, it deep cleans to remove toxins, bacteria, and dead skin cells.
The thorough cleansing you get from a facial not only protects you against infection and helps prevent acne and blackheads. Bi-weekly facials improve skin health and youthfulness.

TIPS FOR SUCCESS
1. RESEARCH THE HISTORY OF FASHION
It’s important to know the history of fashion, iconic fashion designers, and how different cultures have impacted fashion. Having this knowledge allows you to make better informed decisions about the pieces you buy for your store, helps you to plan for the future of your clothing business, and shows how you’re a fashion expert.
2. ATTEND FASHION SHOWS
Fashion shows are big for inspiration. Seeing the creativity that goes behind the clothing will inspire you to come up with your own ideas for your clothing line. Pay attention to the styles, the models, makeup, and try to connect with designers that you like. You may decide to partner with these designers in the future, so it’s important to start building those relationships.
3. ATTEND TRADE SHOWS
A Trade Show is where you find and connect with wholesale vendors, factories, see new styles before they’re released and more. This is also a great networking opportunity to meet with other business owners and factories.
4. BUDGET
Always budget. In the beginning, it’s important to know how much money you need to get started and how that money will be spent. Even when you start making money from your business, understand that you need to allocate money back into your business for products, photoshoots, marketing, etc.
5. HUSTLE
You have to have the motivation to outwork everyone around you and that may require hundreds of late nights and early mornings, missing trips/vacations/parties, business trips during the holidays, etc. As a business owner, the choices you make now will affect your business and your bottom line so be mindful that you’re devoting the time and efforts to make your business successful.
6. GET A MENTOR
Don’t waste your time trying to figure everything out on your own. Having a mentor gives you awareness into possible challenges and roadblocks so you don’t have to experience them. Mentors have knowledge, resources, and a network that could save you time and give you access to more money and resources than you would be able to get on your own in less amount of time. Some mentors for you could be successful boutique owners, fashion designers, creative directors, or anyone who has expert knowledge in an area that you’re unfamiliar with.
7. NETWORK
The more people you know, the more people that know your business. The more people you know if high places, the more chances you have of your business being shared with more influential people. Make it a point to find the right people to network with to advance your business.
8. LEARN EVERYTHING
Never stop learning. Education doesn’t stop after high school, college, or after you start working or owning your business. Dedicate time each day to learning something new about fashion and or business. The more you know, the more money you can make. The less you know, the easier you can be taken advantage of.
9. INVEST IN MARKETING/ADVERTISING
No matter how amazing you think your business is, that doesn’t mean your business will be a hit. Even if you have a big grand opening and do great in sales the first days/weeks, it doesn’t mean that your business will always have high sale days. It’s important that you allocate money in your budget to promote and advertise your business. If only you, your friends and family know about your business, you’re not doing enough marketing/ advertising.
10. ALWAYS MAINTAIN A POSITIVE ATTITUDE
Bad days will come often when you’re running your boutique. Customers will leave bad reviews. Sales won’t always come in. People will leave negative comments on your posts. Whatever happens, always maintain a positive attitude and keep going. Don’t be discouraged by the challenges or negativity. Instead of getting angry, repurpose that energy and allow it to push you to work harder, faster, stronger, and better!

Dissociation isn’t something I particularly struggle with, so I haven’t talked about it much on this blog, but it’s very common in people with C-PTSD. Everybody dissociates sometimes: that thing you do when you’re driving and you suddenly realize you don’t remember the last two miles because you were thinking about something else, or daydreaming during class and missing something the teacher said. But people with a trauma background can have dissociation that is more intense and more disruptive to their lives, possibly including experiences like depersonalization (feeling, for instance, like your body is a puppet you’re just controlling rather than really inhabiting) or derealization (feeling like nothing you’re experiencing is real). If this is a symptom you experience that causes you problems or distresses you, you should speak to a therapist who is trained in treating trauma. Here’s another link on tips for dealing with dissociative disorders.
