I needed to make changes to my weight and diet. So I just finished a 2 week water fast. Doing a water fast is a great way to reset my system and get a fresh start. March 7th I weighed in @ 199.50. When I realized that, I started to pay closer attention to my diet but that attention was sloppy and haphazard. I've got 2 daughters and a wife depending on me and so I refused to give up on the idea of achieving better diet and weight. I've been fasting off and on for decades now so I knew that it would be a good idea to give my system a rest and reset to lose weight and prepare for the serious diet changes that I needed. When I began this fast I weighed in @ 190 lbs and when I ended today I was 170.50. That's 19.50 lbs! Now I will be making greater efforts to stay 100% organic, while also staying away from processed foods. But wait that's not all! Also going completely vegan! I'm giving myself 1 cheat day per month just cuz I Love organic veggie pizza with white sauce, but I'm hoping to find a good healthy white sauce replacement. We'll see. Diet is crazy and recommendations from government and the supposed health organizations are unfortunately greatly influenced by the very industries we should be avoiding. Offering a few guidelines for the public regarding health and safety during this crisis. Wear a mask if you have one. Homemade masks are better than nothing but almost useless if proper distance and hygiene protocols are not followed. So stay inside and away from people! Grocery or other shopping. Does your store have bulk bins that people can access on their own? Don't use them! Even during the best of times these bins have potential to become contaminated since not everyone is intelligent or considerate when accessing them. I have certainly witnessed people putting their bare hands into bins so be smart and steer clear at least during an infectious time and certainly during a pandemic. Public health officials aren't always knowledgeable or truthful with what they share so if they recommend not using a mask during this pandemic I say ignore the bad advice and take proper care of yourself and your family. Treat the environment outside of your home as a contaminated area and don't wear your shoes, clothing etc., into your home environment after journeying into the outside world. Change clothes and shoes in a designated area at home and leave them sealed until your next trip out and of course take a shower. Anything you purchase that can be washed with soap when you return home, should be washed immediately including canned or bottled goods since you are not aware of who may have handled it before you. Even if it wasn't a customer the product did not magically appear on the shelf. Bag of chips? It's sealed. Washing it in the sink with soap won't hurt it. Of course I could go on here but perhaps you're getting the point. During a pandemic of this potential magnitude it is better to be too careful than less careful. I will never forget... Once when I was very little... Maybe around 3 years old or so, one day when I was feeling particularly impatient about growing up more quickly and we were sitting at the dining room table with my little feet dangling in the air unable to reach the wooden floor beneath I asked my mother "mommy when will my feet reach the floor"? I remember she said, "it will happen soon enough, don't rush it". Now that my daughters have had their 1st birthday, i understand that statement even more.
