Blast to the Past

A faint memory comes and takes form in a dream for Mistin, a time from when they were they’re young villain self, still helping with the debt, still “avoiding” the hero’s eyes. Remembering good and bad times, especially their first love {other than Double Vision} she was kind at first… then things went sour….

“What do you mean you’ll leave as soon you’ve payed off your debt?!” The familiar woman in front to the silver eyed Villain known as Dusk. Mistin sighed, turning to their girlfriend.

“Ellie, it was a promise I made to myself when I started this with my brother… once I’m done, I’m out of here…” Mistin crossed their arms and lean against the wall, as their girlfriend otherwise known as Ellie, sighs in frustration. “Mistin I thought you’d be smarter than that, what if you end up where you are again?!” Mistin being taken aback from her words, feeling a bit conflicted.

“I thought you would be smarter but noooo of course not….” Her tone was of disappointment, a tone Mistin used to be very…. Confused, sad….. and…..

“What makes you decide wether I stay or not? I thought we both hated being small time villains?”

“Yes I do! I want to go out big! Something that WE could possibly make of ourselves!” Mistin and her had different goals, in that moment they knew telling her was a mistake….. and later on it was….

“Ellie, trust me… if we go further down the path you’re suggesting….”

“It will make us unstoppable! It will make us more powerful, more feared, more- more!”

“Crazy….”

“You don’t know that….”

“That’s how it all ends, that’s how lives end, my father told me himself! You don’t know what you’re doing!” Mistin grabbed onto her shoulders and shook her a big, in that result she slapped them. Mistin feeling the sting upon their cheek, they looked at her, her gaze looked nothing like the woman she loved….. she looked…. Lost, crazed…… hungry for…

…….Blood……

Few months later they’d be in situation with unexpected events that changed their views upon their own life, and how they’d proceed forward… Ellie soon betrayed Mistin trying to kill them, but instead…. Mistin had Ellie at gun point.

“Mist- Mist! H-Hey! You still love me r-right? I know you would t wanna kill me hehehe!…. Right?…”

“Did, but then you pulled this shit…. I really should just kill you, one shot would do the trick…..” Mistin would hold the gun firmly against their ex lover. As Ellie would hold their wounded arm that was cut open by the knife Mistin would usually use for their own ability, cutting themself to make mist, mist that would easily make people weak of mind and fall down no problem, knocking them out like a light. The deeper the cut the better the effect, the longer the cut the longer it lasts….. no shit it hurt like a bitch… but nothing hurts more than someone you deeply care about fucking up everything…. Just for power….

“You’re not serious! You’re nothing without me! YOU REALLY THINK THIS WILL BE THE BEST OPTION?!”

“No…. This is.” With that they knocked her out with the gun. Leaving a slight cut on their head, from how hard they hit them with the gun. Deep down they’d feel guilty for doing something like that, but now show no remorse whatsoever…. Mistin would then go and call the police, their girlfriend was responsible for small heros going missing, her name would be known as the hero killer, when she was arrested, she was assumed dead by their father’s knowledge… somehow her father not being a villain, knew more about both hero and villain world…. About the NAHA, and about the many villains that have been hunted and killed by the heros…. They’re father never had told them how they knew this information nor did their mother… but their mother was honest about having a long line of villain succession. Mistin would never want to be any of the two…. Wanting a normal life more than anything now, they were determined to get out as fast as possible….

One day while Mistin was coming back to compete their robbery from a house only to hear painful grunts and impacts of punches and kicks, they knew the voice and rushed over, Creed on the floor their nose bleeding and heaving in pain, while their older brother stood there watching as Double beat them up.

“STOP! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING STOP!” Mistin would run over pulling Double off of Creed, checking on their little brother was frightened and unable to move, trembling on the floor. Their older brother… looking at double than them.

“Creed was considering leaving the squad…. If anything… that’s treason… isn’t that right double?”

“Something like that… he’s just lucky I don’t have anything sharp, would’ve made it real quick… or slow…”

“You… HE’S OUR BROTHER WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!?”

“He’s learning a lesson! Whoever has any thoughts upon leaving, is going to learn… it’s not so easy…. To escape… to live the way they want….” With that they looked at they’re brother, they saw the familiar look in his eyes, a hunger, for power, for something worse… this villain lifestyle…. It’s becoming more and more clear that this was not the way to live, the further you go down the road, the further your driven to become something worse….. Mistin wonders if this goes for hero’s to…. But except, it corrupts they’re supposed self righteousness….

“Leave Creed out of this, anything that happens, I’ll be responsible…” they helped up their brother, having him lean on them while Mistin leads them to a more comfortable place. They’re brother scoffed and turned away to talk to double. Doubles eyes not escaping Mistin’s presence as they left…

Later finding a possible scholarship for Creed in the city, Mistin knew this would help him greatly…. So they worked tooth and nail to help him go through with it. When done, and managed to get him out of the villainous lifestyle, Mistin soon was able to finally leave on their own as well…. But not before doing one last house robbery together. He’d help with the bags and load them in the car, while they take some time to breathe.

“God this mask is suffocating….” Mistin would be about to take off their mask, but suddenly hear a little…

Meow

Mistin looked down upon the little cat as they came out of the shadows. Mistin couldn’t help but kneel down, the mask untouched, remaining on their face.

“It’s ok, you can come here.” Mistin let out their hand while the little cat walked over sniffing their hand, then rubbing their head against their hand. Mistin would pet them gently. They would then sit on the ground as the cat would then hop into their lap, making them nervous. They then proceeded to pet the cat regardless… the cat purring as Mistin eased up..

“Little Late for you to be wondering about little kitty… wonder why you’re out and about.” The cat would then paw at the side of the mask making it come off despite the reinforced sides being made of strapped leather. Mistin let out a genuine laugh, not knowing a Bleched Blonde hero be watching from afar, seeing their genuine laugh bringing a smile to their face…. They decided to take a picture, but forgot the flash was on.

“What- who’s there?” When Mistin looked up they didn’t see anyone, the Hero managed to escape the gaze of the small Villain. The cat then meowed and Mistin still looking in that direction, wondering if the flash was real or not.

“Mist! C’mon! What’s going on?”

Their brother Creed called out as they came over, noticing the cat, he then kneeled down to pet the cat.

“Hey there. Hm? Did you injure yourself little one?”

He then took the cat in their arms and looked at the little scrap on their paw, the cat looking a bit taken aback by the sudden contact. He then reached in his pocket still holding the cat. Taking out a small bandage. Wrapping it around the injured paw.

“There you go! Good as new. Be more careful alright?”

“Creed it’s a cat, I don’t think it will understand you..”

“Worth a shot.”

He put down the cat gently and the cat walk away a bit before looking back. Creed waving at it, before it left. They both then left in the car.

Few days later Crees left for the college scholarship… and Mistin left to work hard to get out of the struggle of the villain lifestyle… to get out of the life of madness…. When they did, they knew they had to get they’re parents far away, but for they’re older brother, they knew he’d be pissed that they secretly got they’re little brother and themself out of the night crew…. And out of the life of a villain…. But they didn’t care…

The first thing they did was get a job, the few times they were released from their job due to alien attacks and the building being destroyed, some due to The bosses being assholes and Mistin didn’t want any part of the whole thing… so when they were in the street and got called over by Hailey for a job interview. They weren’t at all expecting to actually see their brother Creed, but regardless they took the job. They weren’t expecting the job to be… enjoyable… and somewhat…. Peaceful. They had their laughs, they’re annoyances, the downsides, the upsides, the normal life they so craved… everything felt normal… they started to enjoy the littlest of things while they could before they’re villainous life caught up to them, weather it be a book, a drink, a day near the water, a simple walk, to a simple conversation…..

Ray…. Something about him was…. Not normal but… somewhat normal… but lost… lost within himself… battling something within himself… as if he’s… trying to understand, like something they haven’t experienced before yet want to understand… Mistin felt connected with him, weather it be on a personal level or a physical one. A connection they never felt possible…. Feelings they thought they wouldn’t be able to feel again after Double and Ellie. Ray felt more comfortable and safe, despite the possibilities of danger around him… They… felt safe… despite the danger ever so close, many villains call a Monster while citizens call a Hero of the Stars�� in their eyes they were neither…

They were Ray…

Ray was someone they got to know, someone to bond and converse with… someone to hold, someone to touch, someone to laugh with….

Someone to Love

They loved him…. Despite the trauma despite everything…. They loved him… they didn’t care for the oh so famous Binary Star…. They Loved and Cared for Ray.

Despite knowing him only for a short time, they want to know more about him, they want to grow into something healthy and Beautiful together. If it’s with him, it’s ok.

Within the dream they try to hold his hand… but something it making it impossible, like when you try to connect an opposite magnet to another, suddenly they’re pulled away from him into the darkness…

They wake up in a cold sweat they’re breathe unstudied, they cover they’re mouth. Trying to calm down. They look over to Ray, they were asleep, they reached one of they’re hands to his and touched his hand with they’re own. They laid back down with him, as they felt they’re hand with his, and he felt theirs, a gentle hold on both of their hands, they felt more confident, more sure, they would be willing to stick by him till the very end.

Or at least till they both die…

Maybe in another universe they could both have normal lives…. But right now, sleeping in the same bed together, they still felt safe…

More sure about this…

About them…

Even if he’s a Hero.

They’re going to stick by him…
