Udayagiri Caves are a group of rock - cut cave sanctuaries, carved into a sandstone hill that stand, sentinel like, on the horizon. Situated in Sonpura and Udaygiri villages of Vidisha district of Madhya Pradesh. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It Literarily translates to "Hill of sunrise", Udayagiri was mentioned as Kumari Parvat in Hathigumpha inscription. Old city is a hub for the local culture and one may find many just chatting with their friends at leisure spots around the parts of old city. One of the most well-known are the steps of Bab-E-Sikandari leading right up to the Upper lake or Bada Talab. The zenana quarters of Gohar mahal, on the left, obstructs nothing between the gate and the quarters. It is located at a picturesque location on the edge of a hill and you can get some beautiful panoramic views of the valley from temple. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Partly rock-cut and partly structural, this temple has an entrance porch, a hall and a sanctum crowned with a Shikhara which has rich carvings. There are many such forts of kings in India, which are a unique story in itself. One such fort is that of the Raisen Killa (Fort), near Bhopal. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Made of sandstone, this fort has large rock walls around it. These walls have nine gates and 13 bastions. Many kings have ruled here, one of them being Sher Shah Suri. However, he had lost his sweat in winning this fort. It is said that even after four months of siege, he could not win this fort. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There is also a very mysterious folklore associated with this fort. It is said that the king Rajsen here had a stone of Paras, which could also make iron into gold. When people fled Fukushima and other parts of Japan a year ago, thousands of pets were left behind. While many pets have since been reunited with their owners, a horrific situation still exists in the no-go 12.5-mile radiation zone around the damaged nuclear plants. There, homeless dogs and cats are still wandering around the area, according to World Vets founder and CEO Cathy King. She told Discovery News that “a lot of these animals have since been rescued out, but some remain.” The problem demonstrates how difficult recovery has been after the 9.0 magnitude earthquake that struck off the northeast coast of Japan on March 11, 2011. The resulting tsunami and nuclear woes devastated the area. Animal support teams from all over the world descended upon the region and are still trying to improve the situation.
