Second to last day of rest. I read, and continued my rewatch of Derry Girls, I finally got around to posting some tag games. I had been tagged in them a while back, and I hope I haven't forgotten about any, there's a chance. (I also have one in my drafts because I have to finish editing it since I typed way too quickly).
Productivity and self care:
slept in
read first thing in the morning
had a relaxing day home alone
practiced Irish on duolingo
continued reading De Profundis by Oscar Wilde, and oh boi this is an emotional journey
📖: The Lottery And Other Stories by Shirley Jackson, De Profundis by Oscar Wilde
🎵: Changed My Mind by Todrick Hall

before my term started, I wrote an essay about why I love to read and sent it to those of my friends who wanted to start making reading a habit again

Juneteenth is about Black people who were officially technically supposed to be freed from enslavement. Nobody else. Nothing else. It's not a POC day. It's not a "freedom for all" day. It's Black folk, Black culture, Black emancipation, SPECIFICALLY. Any other observation for Juneteenth is gentrification.

Life has been quite hectic lately, with an 80-hour week, starting my ICU rotation, adulting (or trying to), keeping in touch with friends I haven’t seen in a while… all the while trying to prioritize my wellbeing and practice being mindful. 😅 Life is tough, but so are we!
