Anyway have this cringe of a writing snippet where jesper and billie chill before and during a full moon.

Cw: description of body horror later on in the snippet.

"Calm before the storm"

Billie leaned next to the stove on small rundown fridge, as they waited for the kettle water to boil. In front of them, sat jesper, on their old couch, wrapped in light mossy green robe. They sat still, knowing what was to come soon. The sun slowy went down, reflecting light off of the window, onto a small calendar. Full moon written on today's date.

Billie was the first to know about their condition, besides their younger siblings. They couldn't exactly keep that from them.

They lived in the same house. The same small old, cracked, albeit quiet house. Billie had been able to help jesper, by getting her older brothers to look after jesper's siblings for tonight. It was better than jesper locking themself in the basement again, so their siblings wouldn't have to see "the process" again. Jesper still feels bad for them having to see their first full moon, even though it wasn't exactly their fault. They didn't exactly plan to turn into a large wolf in the middle of the living room.

Billie spoke, breaking the silence that was built up in the room. "Are you ok? Do you need anything else? Is there anything I can do to make you more comfortable?"

"No, I'm fine..just nervous as usual for tonight." Jesper timidly responded.

"Alright. Say...would you want to listen the Radio? I can turn it some music while we wait" Billie chirped

Jesper took a second, before quietly replying "yes please" before the sound of the kettle whistling sharply sounded off.

In response, billie gently took the kettle and poured both herself and jesper a cup of chamomile tea. She proceeded to gently lift and then carry both cups over to a small coffee table in front of jesper, as billie then moved over to the radio and turned into a nice calm music station.

She then made her way to the couch and sat beside jesper.

She could see how jesper trembled as they picked up their tea, and Softly blowed to cool it down, before taking a sip.

"Thank you for staying with me tonight" jesper calmly whispered.

"Of course, i love you and I don't want you to have to go through this alone anymore"

Billie acknowledged

"Are you sure you're okay with seeing this?

It's not a pretty process. And I don't want to make you-" jesper worriedly asked before getting cut off by billie

"mea flora, please. I was raised in a cannibalistic cult. I don't think you turning into a large dog is going to bother me"

"But what if I hurt you? Or maybe even bite you? Or-" jesper retorted before billie gently caressed their face with their hand, cutting them off.

"Mea flora, please stop, I'll be fine. I can handle myself. I'm a bouncer, I fight off large guys all the time. And I know you, you wouldn't hurt me, as cliché as that is to say." Billie answered, causing jesper to breathe a sigh of relief, before putting down their cup. Then they began to speak

"Y'know I...always hate this part. The waiting I mean. I hate the anticipation.

Sometimes more than the transformation itself. I can always just feel something building up inside me, and the feeling just gets so...instense...and it's hard to ignore"

"...would it help if we cuddled till it starts?" Billie suggested in a silly flirt way.

"....yes" jesper meekly answered.

Billie proceeded to gently scoop up jesper into their arms, as the too cuddled on the couch and listened to the radio softly play for what seemed like a few blissful while. It lasted long enough for the two to fall sort of...fall asleep.

Billie was then awoken to the feeling of jesper shifting and getting up off of them, and moving to the other side of the couch from Billie. Billie softly got up to see jesper sitting there, grasping their chest, sweating.

Jesper's eyes glowed with a small tint of yellow.

"i-its starting" jesper timidly stuttered. Billie quickly moved closer to jesper, noticing how patches of brown fur began to sprout on jesper's hands. Jesper grinded their teeth, wincing from the discomfort.

Billie gently placed a hand on jesper's back, hoping to comfort them. In response jesper lifted up their head, meeting billie's eyes, which had a look of sympathy.

Jespers hands quickly changed, forming black lumps that soon became paw like features, nails turned into sharp razor like claws, all the while fur spreaded up their arms quickly moving to the rest of their torso. Billie didn't want to mention it now, but billie thought to herself how soft jesper's freshly growing fur looked. Their train of thought was interrupted as jesper's spine lurched upwards, almost pushing through jesper's skin, which caused jesper to let out a very non-human whine in parallel to their spine letting out a sickening snap. Although they'd hate to admit it, billie winced at this. It was sound that got them. Sure the sound of bones snapping they were used to, as weird as that sounds, but..the sound of jesper's voice letting out a half morphed dog whine was...uncanny. like something you would hear in horror story.

"You can hold my hand if it'd help" Billie suggested. Jesper acknowledged "I don't want to hurt your arm" much to billie's Chagrin. "I'm s-sorry...I'm sorry...I'm so sorry ... I d-didn't want you to have to see this..." jesper apologized, causing billie to gently shush them. "You're okay..you're okay. Hold onto me if you need to ok?" Billie stated with jesper meekly nodded.

All the while the transformation carried on,

Fur spreaded, eventually spreading down their back, their spine elongated forming a tail, their heels stretched to form more digitigrade legs, billie even noticed in surprise that jesper seemed to get...Bigger?

All the while billie listened in on horror, as jespers voice changed, getting deeper and morphing struggling to make even sentences, soon to even make words.

Eventually the transformation spreaded to their head, as their head, as quickly as it began, stretched out and morphed into with that of a wolf's, before letting out a loud and long sorrowful howl.

Billie, shakingly lifted her hand and gently placed it on jesper's head. Although most of them had changed, there were still some traits that billie noticed that still remained from jesper. A small floof of their hair with a white streak through it, their left arm made of wood and their druidic magic only slightly changed to fit their new body, their eyes still had the same gentle kind feeling as they always had, and small plant sprout stuck in their now fur. Jesper gently leaned into billie's hand, letting out a small whine, now fully sounding like a dog's.

"Oh jesper...I can't believe you went through all this alone for so long." Billie said with saddened tone before jesper gently moved their head and licked billie's hand. They then gently moved closer to billie and Softly laid on top of their lap.

In response billie let out a small sigh, before softly stroking jesper's hair.

Billie couldn't help but let out a small chuckle at jesper's new tail wagging.

And billie was indeed correct on how soft jesper was.

"Y'know, not to sound mean, but I think it's funny you were so scared that you might be some "horrible monster" although currently you're pretty much an oversized lap dog" Billie retorted, which jesper let out a small grump in response. Billie chuckled to herself as the two went back to cuddling on the couch, eventually falling back asleep and having a very blissful rest of their night.

IGHT SO, imma ramble about some stuff for a webcomic I'm making (aka fancy glorified way of saying imma ramble about my ocs)

So basically, I'm bringing back billie and jesper for a webcomic, and aaaaaaaa I can't get random scenes and moments and other junk out of my head for these goobs!

So billie right? Their gonna be a lot different from their original dnd counterpart. Same with jesper.

Billie is essentially a very traumatized person. They went through essentially hell and back, and because of that, they've became very cold and reluctant to be trusting to people.

Their dad and his family were essentially cultists for a sea god and would actively run an underground cannibal mafia. Them,their mom,and their brothers escaped and struggled to make ends meet. As a way to earn money, they opened a small normal restaurant that was often on the verge of closing. Eventually, one day, a man enters their restaurant and orders some food. The man very much enjoys it, and after paying, offers billie's family a chance to move their restaurant into his large casino. And needing money, they of course agree!

While working at the casino, billie's mom eventually meets a woman customer, who is a regular guest. And well- billie has two moms now.

Now, working at this casino, billie sometimes has to make supply runs at a place called "the wandering witches sanctum," a large underground society of magic casters and non-human entities. A place created as a result of prejudice growing bigger against beings of magic. The casino is one of the few last safe havens for beings of magic. But anyway, billie, one day, accidentally stumbles into someone who very much sticks out like a sore thumb. Jesper! A human witch. While humans can practice and learn magic, it's looked down upon by most humans and is weird to other beings.

Now, at first, billie doesn't give a shit, but then jesper starts following them. After an hour of this human following them, billie snaps at them, demanding to know why they were following them! Which jesper responds by pulling out a set of keys to the casino doors explaining how billie dropped them. They also pulled out some items that billie was looking for, that jesper noticed that billie couldn't get due to them being out of said items. Billie, of course, sheepishly apologizes for them snapping, and jesper apologizes for being really awkward. This, of course, causes the two to start chatting, eventually becoming unlikely friends.

Jesper is basically a human witch. Their dad was a former famous bard before becoming a drunk deadbeat after some scandals got out about him doing hard drugs. Their mother was a descendant of a prophet to a nature God before being infected with a zombie like plague and then biting jesper. Jesper, unlike their mother, didn't become a zombie. Their body, for unknown reasons, fought off the infection. They were fine, besides the major injuries sustained from their mother attacking them. now, while the rest of their family were against this idea, their dad wanted to have jesper "taken care of" to prevent anyone else getting infected, even after the limb with the bite was chopped off. This, of course, scared the shit out of a, at the time, 16 year old jesper. Jesper does not want to die, so they took their siblings and ran away (since they didn't want to leave their siblings with a drunk deadbeat of a dad). jesper has ever since taken care of the little siblings.

Now, back to billie and jesper, the two, after a while, start dating.

But after an unknown event to billie, jesper breaks off the relationship, stating it was too dangerous, which billie interrupts as them being too dangerous.

So anyway, Jesper, after a couple of different jobs, lands a job at a large society building. As a janitor.

One day, a werewolf is dragged in, chained up.

Jesper basically learns that the place they work for are wanting to dissect this werewolf.

A very familiar werewolf.

Jesper does not want this random person to, yknow get dissected, so they free the lycanthrope, and quit. This lands jesper back into performing shows on the street for money.

One day, a man walks over to them, thanks them for freeing them from that place, as they were the werewolf. As in return.. the man offers a job at his casino.

Jesper needing a job, agrees

Thus, it results in jesper working in the same place that their ex, billie works at.

Now, at first, it's really awkward, but the two eventually get close again. Jesper also becomes friends with the rest of the staff.

They also get a minor form of dhampirism due to one of their bosses, a vampire biting them.

In this world, people with a specific blood type, when bitten by a vampire, will become a dhampir instead of a thrall.

Now, after a while, the reason why jesper broke up with billie is revealed.

Jesper... got attacked and bitten by a werewolf in the past, giving them lycanthropy. They were scared they might hurt billie, so they broke it off.

Now of course billie doesn't give a shit, and is like

"You turn into a big dog sometimes? Ok, I don't give a shit. You're still cute"

Now, this is also why the werewolf was familiar. That werewolf, their now boss, was the one who bit them.

Soooo yeah akward...

I loved billie so much as a character, but I had to kinda throw em away due to the original dnd group they were in being ....not the greatest people, which resulted in me the leaving that group...but also billie.

AND CUZ OF THAT I NEVER GET TO FULLY PLAY THEM/END THEIR STORY.

at some point you have to realize that you actually have to read to understand the nuance of anything. we as a society are obsessed with summarization, likely as a result of the speed demanded by capital. from headlines to social media (twitter being especially egregious with the character limit), people take in fragments of knowledge and run with them, twisting their meaning into a kaleidoscope that dilutes the message into nothing. yes, brevity is good, but sometimes the message, even when communicated with utmost brevity, requires a 300 page book. sorry.
