Japanese Corporation: You have 2 cows. You redesign them so they are one-tenth the size of an ordinary cow and produce twenty times the milk. You then create a clever cow cartoon image called Cowkimon and market them Worldwide.

An Italian Corporation: You have 2 cows, but you don't know where they are. You break for lunch.

A Swiss Corporation: You have 5000 cows. None of which belong to you. You charge others for storing them.

Chinese Corporation: You have 2 cows. You have 300 people milking them. You claim full employment, high bovine productivity, and arrest the newsman who reported the numbers.

An Iraqi Corporation: Everyone thinks you have lots of cows. You tell them that you have none. No one believes you and they bomb your arse. You still have no cows, but at least now you are part of a Democracy.......

Counter Culture: 'Wow, dig it, like there's these 2 cows, man, grazing in the hemp field. You gotta have some of this milk!'

Surrealism: You have two giraffes. The government requires you to take harmonica lessons.

Fatalist: You have 2 doomed cows...

A West-Country Corporation: You have 2 cows. That one on the left is kinda cute.

Ok, the title doesn’t really reflect what happens in Ch12 but it’s important nonetheless. If you see me on discord or we buds off the tumbles then you probs already know. If not.... I got shafted from my job with no prior warning. It’s a shitty time for everyone but, as the title says, Imma truck the eff on and get some stuff I like done. im losing my mind over here, I made a post like “I love legend of zelda, but the entire formula needs to be changed” and people in the replies are like “Yeah!! let’s make ganon more tragic”, as if getting stabbed every time wasn’t already tragic, and “let’s swap up who gets each triforce piece” as if the allocation isn’t totally arbitrary already and barely has anything to do with how each character expresses themselves in relation to the storytelling

Fig inspired me to write fanfic. Fig inspired me to get better at it. Fig inspired me to KEEP at it. Fig inspired me to enjoy and love romance and angst.

And now.... Fig inspires me to help everyone, especially with the work I do. All my best wishes go out to you and the people you are helping. A major influence on my life, through and through.

After some serious consideration, I’ve decided to put “A Tale of Two Rulers” on hiatus until July. 

Other than going to school and working on this fancomic, I work part time for Ohio Health as a Patient Safety Aide and the COVID-19 pandemic has increased the need for help at all the local hospitals. I’ve decided to increase my hours to full time, or higher if there’s a need for it. I’m excited to get to help out, but this also means that other things in my life need to be put on a temporary pause.

Hopefully this rough patch (to put it lightly) will be over by July  and normal life, art, and general human well-being will make a joyful comeback for everyone.

Until then, please stay safe, healthy, and home as best you can as we all get through this!

:Stares blankly at the 10 month old "last updated" date in silent yet physical distress:

writing fanfic like “am i getting the dynamics of this friendship right?” “would this character actually say this?” “what is the proper ratio of kindness to sass?” “am i falling prey to overused fanfic personality shortcuts or is this a canon trait?” “am i overthinking this so much that i will grind to a standstill out of sheer terror?”

Although I agree that Ganondorfs writing does peak in Wind Waker, I dont believe that his other appearances are all that badly written or inferior to that instance. Yeah, WW Gan describes his motivations as with the hardship that his people went through, but (and this may only be me) I take that lamenting and couple of lines at the end really is just an old man justifying his actions not to the boy, but to himself too.

Now this dude's other appearances may leave something as deep as this on a higher pedestal, but I personally count them just as well written. Ganondorf is the bad guy. The evil to be defeated. A man with a goal to destroy the world. Now that destruction may be in the form of restoring it to a prior state, subjugation under a new regime, or even just destruction itself, but it's still destruction. It's still, for all intents and purposes, evil.

This means we have to derive a complete character from ALL his appearances, not the one with the most introspective lines. Is Ganondorf the child of a suppressed population who live in harsh conditions? Yes. Is he also a man capable of destroying an entire island and poisoning the worlds strongest magical beings? Yes. Does he have a moral compass and show restraint when faced with a decision that can go against that moral code? Yes. Does that moral code also exclude killing an entire town, manipulating the free will of other people, and terrorizing children? You bet.

Now it is much easier to write a character that has more nuanced and clear motives as WW tells us, but that doesnt necessarily mean the other Gans are badly written. The motives for those other Gans just has to be found in the world and context other than the dialogue. The writing isnt bad, it's just focused somewhere else.

The fact that Wind Waker Ganondorf is still upheld as the best Ganondorf is a glaring testament to just how badly this character has been written over LoZ’s lifespan.
