I know this “Not Dead Yet” season has been wonky, but it really shone through with this finale

I finally watched the last two episodes and couldn’t agree more! It felt like it got back to the heart of the show (and characters). Loved that the last two ghosts of the season (including Duncan!) actually influenced the plot and Nell’s personal development. The bit with Cricket talking about Monty’s obit really hit home too 😭 and the bit at the end with everyone showing up for Lexi. It really got back to the heart of the show, and why it’s best when Nell is connected to her ghosts.

And with Duncan potentially knowing Nell’s secret, I’m hopeful that iiiiif there is a third season, her power - and what it means for her character- will be more central like it was in season 1.

Also just so many funny moments: Nell and the corporate efficiency guy’s scenes, Lexi at the hospital, Nell taking career advice from ghost!Duncan, and I love Dennis best when he gets into editor mode.

I hope they get another season so they can pull out of the sophomore slump and get back on track!

Not Dead Yet went from being a hidden gem to nearly unwatchable?? Like the ghosts have been so sidelined you could basically lift them from any episode without changing a thing; the Edward/Lexi pairing has been nauseating; it seems like they want to make this a workplace comedy but the side characters honestly aren’t strong enough to carry the show in that genre; I WANT MORE CRICKET 😭

Nell’s growth feels totally stunted (probably bc the ghosts are so absent) and I’d be lying if I said her dynamic with Edward wasn’t a huge part of the show’s appeal, so the total loss of that his season has felt really tangible.

#it’s sweet that this is one of Alice’s favorite scenes from s2! #it really sets the tone of their dynamic well from episode 1 #Charlie is still anxious he’s too much and that nick may not be as all in as him #but nick completely meets him where he is in such an earnest way #when we started watching s2 my wife (who is chronically offline) was like #oh no is the jock going to ignore the little guy at school or be mean to him this season? #and it’s bc so many shows set up the conflict as within the relationships w cheap drama #I immediately was like NO they are always kind to each other it’s other stuff that makes it hard #and she was relieved and able to relax more watching the rest of the season #and I feel like Charlie got that moment in this scene #he gets to relax from ep1 onward bc he doesn’t have to be afraid thst he’s too much #or that nick isn’t as in it as he is #heartstopper #wow I’m being embarrassing in the tags over two kids and a candy bar
