Currently Watching: Man, I wish I was watching Leverage or DCMK but I haven’t had the time to sit down and watch an actual show in a while. But the last thing I saw was a Donghua - Chinese animation - called Are You Okay? which is an isekai - other world - parody. A bunch of people get reincarnated into an ancient china, WuXia (Chinses martial Arts) setting and they’re pretty open about the whole reincarnation thing. It’s hilarious. and it ripped out my heart.

Damian being forced into getting tutoring because he missed too many classes casually being robin

Bruce agreeing with the school because hey maybe this way he learns how to behave around classmates and maybe make a friend who isn't Jon

Felix volunteering as a tutor after school because he needs extra curriculars for college and this way he doesn't have to deal with loud obnoxious peers

Both of them bonding over their hatred of said peers

No matter how hard they try, a parent will never have full control over their child bc guess what, kids have their own free will. Omg what a surprise. How controversial.

So, India is dying.

Look, I know a good number of you are from the US and things aren't amazing there either, but my country is literally on the brink of collapse. So I'd love it if we could talk about that for a minute.

A second COVID wave has taken out the healthcare system. There are no more hospital beds. There's an oxygen shortage. There's a critical vaccine shortage. The Central Government has thrown its hands up and is passing the baton to the State Governments to do what they can.

There are over 16 million covid cases. A record 330,000 new cases reported yesterday - comparable to the US at its peak. 187,000 dead as of today.

There is no plan.

Mass cremations are taking place. The cremation grounds are running day and night and they are short on wood. People are watching their loved ones die while waiting for a hospital bed, and then they're unable to give them the proper burial rights.

Hospitals are overwhelmed. Patients are being confined, two to a bed. They're the lucky ones.

We are on the verge of people dying in the streets.

This is the second-most populous country in the world. The largest democracy. A country that encapsulates over 15,000 years of recorded human history and has endured everything from famine to invasion to colonisation.

We might be at the end. This might be the thing that does us in.

People are dying.

People are dying.

People are dying and there is no plan.

More good news? Variants are popping up. A double mutation strain has shown up. It is resistant to current vaccines. This will not go away. This is the devastation they warned of when the anti-maskers were out protesting the minor inconvenience of covering their face in public.

My country is on the verge of an emergency state. Our government has failed us. This is as dire a situation as it ever could be.

Look. I don't do much with my life. I write fics, some of you have read them and that's pretty much it. I spend my days with my head in the clouds because that's where I like to be.

But two days ago, my grandmother tested positive, had to be taken to hospital and the ambulance caught fire.

She barely made it to the urgent care she needs.

So, here I am, using whatever meager platform I have to cobble this request together. Because I have to do something.

the do's and don'ts of tagging maribat content

if any of you follow me, you've probably seen that I just had a back-and-forth argument with a maribat anti whose primary reasons for attacking our fandom was that we weren't tagging properly.

blocking the maribat tag is useless if people tag their maribat works with tags used for solely dc or mlb works, because they'll show up anyway when people browse those other tags.

because of this, I've decided to write up the do's and don'ts of tagging maribat content on tumblr.

do:

- tag the crossover. maribat, mlb x dc, or any variation thereof, is perfectly okay, and it'll help more maribat readers find your fic!

- tag maribat ships. daminette, timari, jasonette, and any other ship with one or more characters from both miraculous AND dc should be tagged for easier navigation.

do not:

- tag the individual fandoms. this means no miraculous ladybug, dc, batman, young justice, etc. that way, it won't show up in those tags and people who dislike maribat can keep going about their day without a reason to get angry.

- tag the characters. this means no marinette dupain cheng, damian wayne, tim drake, adrien agreste, etc. and any variation of their hero/vigilante personas, because again, that means your work won't show up in the individual fandom tags.

- tag anything belonging to the individual fandoms*, like class salt, lila salt, alya salt, etc. if you really want to tag that your work contains a specific type of content, use 'maribat' before it (ex. maribat class salt).

and finally, all of you content creators are amazing and you make the maribat fandom a better place to be in! keep it up! :D

*note that this does not apply to trigger warnings - tag those as deemed necessary.

I have learned my lesson, I will be writing these on Google docs and then copy-pasting onto Tumblr. While I am on GD, I figured I might as well open the docs I used to write the actual fic. Man, I went through a ton of hoops to get where I am. I will be using the most coherent ones for reference. 

I can literally track my thought process as I went through writing all the different versions and I still have no idea how tf I went from this to dropping a flaming papermache whale on Ra’s Al Ghul. And I will die mad about it. Which means more meticulous notes in the future I guess.

Also, I’d like to apologize for how long it took to get this out, I have no sense of time whatsoever and as always, there’s a lot more than expected. This was 7 pages long

I’ve seen a lot of posts on my dash tonight about users who are threatening suicide, with other Tumblr members posting in effort to try to get ahold of them. I think you all should see this:

IF THERE IS EVER A TUMBLR USER WHO HAS POSTED A GOOD-BYE MESSAGE, SUICIDE NOTE, VIDEO, OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT, PLEASE FOLLOW THIS POST.

1. Scroll to the top of your dashboard.

2. See the circular question mark icon at the top? It’s the third one over from your home symbol. Click on that, and a screen similar to the one in the picture will come up.

3. Where you can type in questions, the box with the magnifying glass at the top, type in the word “suicide.”

4. Click on the first link that shows up. It should say, “Pass the URL of the blog on to us.”

5. Type in the user’s URL and tell Tumblr admin that the user is contemplating suicide and has posted a message indicating that they are going through with it or will be attempting. Hit send! Tumblr administration will perform a number of actions to contact the user and take the necessary steps to prevent the suicide.

TUMBLR: THIS COULD SAVE A USER’S LIFE. PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE SUICIDE THREATS.

Reblog this to keep other users aware. Suicide isn’t a joke, and neither is someone’s life. If you didn’t know this, someone else may not, either. Pass it on.

Yeah, I don’t think that’s happening anytime soon. We’re stuck in the Maribat hole, we’re going to entertain ourselves with fics. (Agreed on everything else.)

I've only known about maribat for roughly 48 hrs, but holy crap don't stop writing them. My serotonin levels are ridiculously high because of it and some of you should seriously consider becoming authors with the way you write. On that note, any maribat fic reccomendations?
