The Memory of You Chapter 74 and 75

Hey everyone,

I was ill last weekend and didn’t have a chance to finish my part of chapter 74. While it’s mostly done now, it needs a bit more time for alpha/beta.

I’ll share a posting date when I’m certain and here’s a little something to hold you over:

And my heart nearly skipped a beat. Seeing her happy and feeling her hand in mine, knowing I was a part of that happiness, overwhelmed me in the best way possible.

Sometimes, our relationship still felt surreal to me.

I thought I'd loved her when I was younger, but those feelings had grown and dwarfed the teenage obsession. Often times, I found myself wondering how I ever could've lived the way I did during the affair if I'd felt the same way I did now.

But, whenever the guilt got to me, Hermione was always there with a reminder that we'd promised to simply move forward and avoid fixating on the past.

It’s been awhile, hasn’t it? 

Let’s say Sunday, June 12th.

"Good morning," Healer Clearwater said, her eyes watching me carefully as I sat down on the sofa.

I nodded in response, not sure how I wanted to begin the appointment. Even though I'd thought of nothing but Hermione since she'd walked out on Tuesday morning, I knew I had to work on myself in general, not just my relationship issues.

"How have you been?" she prompted, reading my stiff posture and reluctance to start.

Shrugging, I said, "It's been a rough couple of days."

"Because of the way Hermione left on Tuesday?"

"Yes," I replied, my voice stiff. "That's definitely a contributing factor."

"Has anything else happened?"

"No. I'm just...." I rubbed my palms over my face. "I don't know how to deal with this. I know she needs time to process, but every time she leaves, I feel like she takes pieces of me with her, and I'm stuck here, anxious and unsure."

"A reversal of your former dynamic."
