I really like the fact that Merlin doesn’t flip the sword out of Odin’s hand or make it burn him or create a distraction or something, instead he just flips the f out. He sees Arthur about to get killed and he chooses to go full on BAMF!Merlin and straight up opens the earth underneath their feet. 

Merlin is truly terrifying when he wants to be.

the more ambivalence of Uther when you think that he wasn't that worried about Morgana being sick in 1x06 but fretting over her in 3x05. He cried for Arthur in 1x13 but almost killed him in 5x03. Seeing Morgana gone evil and Arthur rule better than him shattered not exactly his mind or heart but his own expections of his children

whenever I try to think Uther as a cruel Father, my mind would go to that scene where he carries him, crying. Fuck! The root of the whole problem is that he had a heart! Imagine him as a cruel man, vindictive but he wasn't heartless, if that had been, purge wouldn't have happened. He'd have moved and taken another wife, come to think of it, he didn't take another wife, nobody would have begrudge him, he was the king afterall, and one prince isn't enough to secure the bloodline and the throne. So yeah, Uther did love Arthur and Morgana, Morgana's betrayal was so deep he went mad man! Truly astounding. That a man who committed genocide was a human and had a heart and he loved his children. Truly, too much complexity

Sometimes, I think about how Merlin purposefully turned Arthur against magic twice—the first time to save his soul and the second to save his life—so when he finally told Arthur he was a sorcerer, it was the ultimate bamboozle.

“How could the bumbling idiot I’ve known all these years have been my greatest protector the whole time?” Yeah, sure. But also: “How could a sorcerer have chosen me over magic? Over his own freedom and the freedom of those like him? Over the gods who created him and the religion that saves him?” It’s one thing to die for someone and another thing entirely to give up who you are for them.

Obviously, Merlin was wrong, and that’s why playing God had an effect opposite to what he’d intended. But I think it’s so interesting to consider how Arthur might have viewed this confession. He was betrayed by Morgana because she loved herself more than her own brother and betrayed by Uther because he loved himself more than his own son. And all of this while Merlin, at first, fell in love with the cause and, then, even more with the man behind it. His loyalty to and love for Arthur was so pure it turned sinful, and I don’t think Arthur would have ever gotten over that. If he hadn’t died.

Helios always liked pretty girls no matter who it was (it shows when Gwen is his "guest") but it's suprising how loyal he was when Morgana's magic was bound by Merlin and he stepped in to fight for her.

While Agravaine was in fact in love with her all the time, and there was that moment when he warned her about Helios but in fact, I think he foreshadowed Sarrum - an alliance gone bad (there were other people Morgana sought alliance with in S4: Annis, Alator, that turned on her in the end, but it didn't come to this extreme)

I always imagine Morgana as the all-powerful queen who doesn't need a love interest. And if she does, it should be with someone also having magic, I think (hence me shipping Mordana).

It's really nuts how in s4, bbc Morgana had bbc Agravaine and bbc Helios eating out the palm of her hand, watching out and caring for her. Instead she was so focused on Camelot: destroying bbc Arthur, punishing bbc Merlin and finding bbc Emrys.

Solar eclipse gave me thoughts:

What if there was an eclipse over Camelot? And what if that eclipse happened shortly after Arthur’s birth? When Uther is completely raw from Ygraine’s death and is just beginning to blame magic? What if the day turned dark, and people went blind, and fear spread across the land?
