He shook his head, he figured sitting outside his tent looking up at the stars was a great example of him not sleeping. Amari his current guard, and also a captain in the army, a large snow leopard was far enough away to give him, and now his sister privacy. “I just don’t think I am quite used to it, the afterwords. I never know how to think about all that transpired.” He knew Peter didn’t but he was the better fighter so Peter would simply have to deal with it.

“Like what?” he asked in that voice that indicated he probably knew exactly what she was talking about, but he also wanted a little clarification because sometimes a look could set someone off. You could never be too sure with siblings if it was something like that or more serious. He then looked at her, this time a bit more serious, and less joking, trying to get across she could tell him if something beyond a subtle glance over the breakfast table was bothering her.

He had hesitated about leaving, Peter and Susan already had retired for the evening. He didn’t blame them he was tired too. But, something held him back, despite the chaos of the day, and how full Cair Paravel was and would continue to be from now on, their was a loneliness that Edmund felt just itching at the back of his mind. He did not want to be alone. So with the invitation from Lucy he still hesitated, this time around staying, “Are you sure?” he asked. Edmund had changed since coming to Narnia so the respectfulness of Lucy’s space, unexplored by her, was new and would probably take some getting used to. But Edmund learned a great deal, he wasn’t about to forget it.
